VEGAN POST: This Trader Joe's is awesome. If you haven't been to a Trader Joe's then you should definitely check this one out, they converted an old nostalgic theatre into a small grocery store. Trader Joe's stores are very similar to Sprouts if you're familiar with that chain. Basically they are a smaller version of Whole Foods but way better prices. They should change their slogan to that "Half the size of Whole Foods and half the price". The workers are always super friendly and helpful. The produce department has fresh organic fruits and vegetables. There are vegan and vegetarian pre-made frozen foods that are really good. The chicken-less strips were changed from Gardien style to a smaller strip and not as yummy version. But a new delicious item has been added, if you like cauliflower you will definitely like this, I think it's called kungpow cauliflower. Its frozen cauliflower covered in a vegan batter and comes with a separate sauce that you can use or you can add your own favourite sauce to change it up once in a while like sweet n sour, bbq, etc. I like making vegan 7 layer dip and for layer 1 they have really good "refried black beans with jalapenos" in a can on the bean isle right next to the delicious vegetarian chilli. Another great ingredient is usually in the produce cooler shelves; it's a vegan ground soy meat and makes an excellent 2nd layer. Lots of ripe avocados and also packaged guacamole for layer 3. There isn't any vegan sour cream here for layer 4, I usually get Tofutti sour cream at a store that carries it. But they have the olives and salsa for layer 5 and 6. For layer 7 there is a pre-shreded vegan cheese right next to the vegan soy meat in the produce shelves above the tofu. That cheese is ok and will definitely make it taste better but if you are able to find shreded Daiya cheese at your other shopping errands I recommend the Daiya. All in all, this store has much more to offer than just these things, there's vegan beer and wines, vegan icecreams, lots of good snacks, even animal friendly, cruelty free hygiene products like laundry detergent, body wash, etc.

I'm very happy this historic shopping center is still around but it lost a huge part of it's character when the bookstore closed years ago and was turned into a Trader Joe's. Nothing wrong with Trader Joe's. They have a great selection for grocery shopping... but I won't shop here: This location depressed me on the few occasions I visited because of what used to be in the space. I'm glad Joe's saved the building from potentially being torn down by the owner, Weingarten but there's only a few token reminders of the theater left inside... I miss the amazing old Bookstop that was here. The newfangled Barnes & Noble on W. Gray St. that was meant to 'replace' it doesn't hold a candle. The Alabama Bookstop was a really special and unique place unlike anything else probably in any other city that I know of... Trader Joe's is fine, but it's just no replacement...

Went to Trader Joe's. Parking is right in the front. Might want to hit the back the lot is bigger. The line is long so be prepared for a wait on the weekend. I went Saturday afternoon around noon. Waited 20 minutes. Got inside and people are not social distancing. They are almost on top of you in the dairy section and frozen food section even with space. That's not TJ's fault but I wish it was markings in those high traffic areas of some kind to stay 6ft apart. I got the items I needed. Was disappointed by the flower section hardly anything left. Other than that it's fine. I'll try the Voss location maybe that one isn't as busy.

What an amazing location! The building inside and out has a great retro feel that is warm and welcoming. Selection is typical of most stores in the chain, but a few less than "happy" employees present among the staff. We always go to Trader Joe's for certain items of their own brand, and generally the stores are busy so a wait at the register is not out of the ordinary, but on two recent trips, the cashiers have been less than friendly and the last impression of a store should not be a grouchy employee. The manager needs to look into who is on the lines to avoid these kind of encounters.

I like the convenience of the Trader Joe's next to a PetSmart, two places I often go to. The Trader Joe's building, interestingly, used to be a Bookstop I spent a lot of time in a couple decades ago and before that it was a theater. The More You Know //*. There is parking out in front and in the back. If there's room in the front, the parking is nicer there, but keep in mind the no-left-turns rule on Shepherd right there. In the back, you should pretty much always be able to find a place to park, but it's not a pleasant lot. Hard to describe why.

This place is always PACKED! I only recommend this place if you have a free day that you're willing to spend a good amount of time in line here. They try to move fast which is commendable. Their Vegan selection is few but a diligent observer will have no problem finding something worthwhile if they have the time that is. Parking isn't too bad unless you go at peak times and traffic getting out can be a little dreadful. Maybe it's time Houston went more pedestrian style infrastructure instead of being more catered to vehicles.

I went on a Sunday at 2 pm so it was understandably packed. I ran in to get some quick items but the line was wrapped all the way around the store. I needed help finding some items and the girl that helped me was great. She recommended some of their products that I'm hooked on now. She also found fresher onions for me because the options were pretty rough. Coincidentally, she was the one that checked me out too. I told her that I'll be back. Trader Joe's is comparable to Aldi's with an American touch.

I usually go their for veterinary services from Banfield. Parking is free and readily available, and the area is well lighted and has multiple entry and exit points. Banfield has always provided great service so they've had my business for the last 10 years. I sometimes shop at Trader Joe's and Whole Earth Provisions as well, and both are great establishments, with quality food and gear, good customer service, and competitive prices for the merchandise offered.

I've only been to the Trader Joe's and PetSmart here, which are right next to each other. Love shopping at TJ's to stock up on certain organic produce and a few other pantry items. My girls love the sample station where you can usually ask for popcorn or animal crackers for the kids. We don't have any pets, but the kids like to go to PetSmart before or after TJ's to look at the fish, reptiles, and cats. The cats have "visiting hours" in the evenings.

I just want to say what a lovely first experience at Trader Joe's.First time to visit any Teader Joe's and it has everything you need for my daughters gluten free foods and regular foods with fresh ingredients on everything. Everything we purchased was affordable and the customer service was just amazing. I wish my family had a Trader Joe's near ourvhouse in League city. I would be a regular. Highly recommend.

Trader Joe's has replaced the bookstore which replaced the original theater in this building! I have enjoyed each business! ! I am happy to be reasonably close to a Trader Joe's as the organic foods are priced reasonably. There is a kinda cool frozen food selection, too!. Nice and clean with happy helpful people working there. Also Whole Earth Provision Co. has your hiking/ camping supplies.

How can you really rate a shopping center? My vehicle wasn't bashed by a rogue cart. I parked right in front of the store I was going to. So I didn't have the walk time necessary for a thorough inspection of the shopping center. Had I known I would be prompted to review this shopping center, I would have checked the paperwork and checked for mold and bugs.... Or not... Who knows

trader Joe's is a great grocery store that stocks mostly a trader Joe's brand products. The products I've tried are very high quality, often better than name brand. They have some great chocolate babka and black and whites. My dog really likes the Trader Joe's dog treats that they have available. The employees are very polite. The line may look long but it moves very quickly.

Small and can be crowd. Good selection of Trader Joe's brand food and household items. Polite and helpful staff. I'm from Thailand and the frozen Thai eggplants basil tastes more authentic than at many Thai restaurants. Also love the linguine white calm sauce. We always keep a bag or two in our freezer. Chocolate products are cheap and taste good. Good bread selection.

I LOVE this Trader Joe's. I've been to others but none best the customer service here. The employees all have such fun personalities and they remember their regular customers. Prices are the best anywhere for the best quality and hehealthiest foods. I drive from the Clear Lake area to get my groceries here every week. I have been begging for one closer to us.

Trader Joe's is always a delightful experience, new foods to try, new frozen meals of varied cultures and preparations. Long waiting line, but moved right along. Lots of registers open and there's plenty of snacks and treats to look over as you go through the line. Of course I always seem to stop in around 5 pm on a Friday which explains the excess line!

I've been to Trader Joe's and the Petsmart here. Both can be pretty expensive and sometimes don't have the thing I came to look for. I do not recommend the vet at Petsmart as they are always rude to my cats and request things to be done that is not necessary and sometimes do them without my permission. Trader Joe's has nice staff.

Wish there was a Trader Joe's in Galveston. Always try to stop by when I'm in the area. The molasses cookies were great. The check out line was kind of long during my visit but moved surprisingly fast. Also great customer service and super friendly cashiers. I like how they kept the balcony seats from when it was a theater.

The traditional Trader Joe's inside a kid of old fashioned teather. I love this store. You can find original sweet plantain chips from Latin America, not sugar added just the yummy natural sweetness, nothing compared with "Goya" yellow plantains and cheaper. You must to take a look along international frozen foods

TJ is a staple. Wonderful food options at reasonable prices. Not my favourite trader joes location, it’s typically very busy and as such, doesn’t always seem to have everything in stock. It’s also not the most enjoyable shopping experience when busy, because you’re manoeuvring your cart through crowds to view items.

This shopping center has the weirdest parking lot set up. In the front the parking is terrible, and in the back no one knows how to drive around it. It's like being in a traffic jam with every Prius in town. I like Trader Joe's and Whole Earth, so I come here regularly...But this complex has really terrible parking.

There is a Pet Smart where you can buy most things for all your pets needs and have good service! Never have understood the infatuation some people have with Trader Joe’s but it’s popular. This shopping center is in a great location and you can get in and out pretty quickly with free parking.

Just love me some trader Joe's You have to get a white frosted spice cake. And any other French breads you reheat in the oven in the bag. And the location is as good as the picture posted. Because the street has been worked on for the last 2 years but I won't hold that against them.

What is there to say about this place that isn't 5 star. I go in there just wanting to spend money on things I don't need! Ha!! Usually I go for floral but this time I bought holiday anything for company coming to town. Friendly staff. Friendly shoppers. It's a must go.

Love this place with passion. If you love spaghetti squash, get one here. It's not sold per lb and it's organic. Dog treats are always win too. My great Dane gets mad at me if I don't bring her home treats. Just look at her face when I returned home without one.

Trader Joes can do no wrong in my book. It is in a weird location though... And because it has this movie theater marquee its easy to miss it when driving and turning around where it is is practically impossible. But again, as for trader joes itself.... A win.

Ready meal items are available. So many varieties of ready meal items both for non-vegetarian and vegetarian. This store is best those working people or doesn't have time for cooking. Also, so many varieties of wines are available too. Love to shop there.

Trader Joe's brought me here, and close in parking and memories will keep me coming back. As a longtime Houstonian, I stand in TJ's and remember the Alabama Theater. It's a joy to have a great shopping experience and some nostalgia on the side.

The staff is amazing here, and of course I love that it's located inside an old movie theatre! The painted posters are cute and clever! There salad selection used to be better but that doesn't stop me from shopping there on a regular basis ;)

This shopping center is always safe and great! I love this place plus we’re very lucky to have a friendly security lady. She’s always walking around to keep us safe and always happy to help if we need it. Last time it was raining pretty

This store its too confusing. I really prefer where I go in fast, shop fast and exit fast. They have two exists and it was weird for me to exist from the way where they checkout. I prefer to go traders joe on Voss and san felipe.

My heart twinges a bit at what the Alabama Theater has become, but it's nice that Trader Joe's conceded to decorate around the movie theater theme. Wish they'd left the descending aisle, like the bookstore before TJ's did...

I usually go to Trader Joe's here. I love it there. I have been to the other stores here and there is a good amount of variety here. There is a go among of parking at this location in the back (far side from Shepard).

We absolutely love Trader Joe's. For people who are allergic to peanut butter, you must try the cookie butter. The staff people are really helpful and they are always sampling something. You won't be disappointed!

The parking spots are narrow and somewhat stressful to deal with from the front, but I usually can find spots in the back, facing or nearby PetSmart. Otherwise, it's well maintained with a selection of cool shops.

The Trader Joe's shopping experience, what can I say? I think their frozen entrees such as the paella and risottos are the best I have tried. Oh, the Tea Tree Tingle body wash, shampoo and conditioner are super!

Its a little tiny place and very well loved within the community. There is a decent selection but not really enough to keep you going. I give the staff a 5 star but the over populated store and size get a zero.

Trader Joe's has some of the coolest stuff, you need to walk around and discover all the things you can't live without but never knew existed. Plus they're in the old Alabama Theater so nostalgic as well

Great shopping center with a good mix of tenants. Trader Joe's, Whole Earth Provisions, and Petsmart along with a sushi restaurant. One star off for missing the old Book Stop that was there before TJ's.

I love Trader Joe's. I find new items every time. I just picked up Pumpkin Spiced Joe-Joe's cookies. I am addicted already. And try the fire roasted red peppers or pumpkin cranberry crisps. Yum.

This trader Joe's is so unique! It is converted from an old movie theatre and they Incorporated that into the design and still retained some of the layout, which was great! Love shopping here.

Lots of great places to visit on this strip. My favorite thing to do is buy an organic kombucha over at trader Trader Joe’s and walk right next door to Pet smart to visit with the rescue cats!

I love TJ and this one is cute....but if you go on the weekend you better plan on waiting in line. Parking can be difficult too, however the back parking lot usually has some spots available.

Absolutely love this store and their staff, especially Tim in the Beer department. He's super helpful. If you don't like anything, they will buy it back or give you a credit to swap it out.

If I could give trendy, upity grocery store 0 starts I would. I would never go to a store where you had to wait in line around the whole building, but I did thanks to my wife. Crap box.

Very crowded here always. Don't like to wait in long lines is y ibrated 4 stars. Nothing wrong with their items or poor services. I am glad I have one closer to home with shorter lines.

Like this area a lot. You have a variety of stores and restaurants all around. Always glad to shop around here. How about aquariums at Pet Smart or grocery shopping at Trader Joe's?

I just went to Trader Joe's. Parking is a little tight, but it was an awesome location and I'm glad they kept some of the buildings character when they switched it to retail.

Amazing staff! My mom make this a stop every other week. The flowers are amazing and reasonable and they have an amazing assortment of foods you cannot get anywhere else!

There's always a line outside, but it usually moves pretty quick. They take good precautions, and keep everything in stock. The friendly staff is also really helpful.

There's a lot to like about Trader Joe's, but the icing on the cake are the check out crew that are soooo personable and friendly...they are the cherry on top!

Small cramped and at times overcrowded Trader's is the place I go for some of my favorite vegetables sure of finding all of most of them at a reasonable price.

Good grocery to get items at a reasonable price, staff is always available and willing to assist you. Some days the lines can be longer than usual to cash out.

Newly resurfaced Shepherd as well as the sidewalk and curbs. Some parking in front but plenty in back. Good selection of stores, plus other shopping nearby.

I love this store! They have organic fruits, vegetables, dairy and non dairy. The lamb is the best!!! The staff is the great!! Do yourself a favor and go!

First time shopping at the Whole Earth Provision co. Love this place. I will visit again. Also shopped at Trader Joe's. This is one of my favorite spots.

I got delicious food from Tarka Kitchen. Their food choices offer varying degrees of spice and meat, shrimp, vegan and gluten-free alternatives.

Parking can be challenging with the trader joes customers and construction. Be sure to look for parking in the back if there isnt any up front!

Trader Joe's is a nightmare on the weekend. Takes over an hour to checkout. Very disappointed after we spent 45 minutes to get there.

Trader Joe's has a good selection and good prices. The bookstore had more ambiance but it's still better than a normal grocery store.

My wife shops there and she loves everything thing about, for me the people shopping there are rude, that's why I wait in the car.
