I was involved in a hit-and-run and the cops did nothing about it. this happened in the morning time and the dispatcher said they would send a cop out to meet us at our destination. Yes the car was still drivable, but I crime was committed in the driver got away with it. not only did they not meet us at our destination, they didn't even call us back for 6 hours. When they called us back they told us they were canceling the report and that I would have to go to a police center from 8:00 to 5:00 and file a station report. I work during these exact hours. Thankfully I got out early one day and I went to the station to file a station report. Regardless I feel like this could have been handled a lot better. When I spoke to the sergeant on the phone who said to go file the station report his exact words for " everyone's been involved in a hit-and-run at least once. We've had about 30 other cases this morning". Not only is this untrue and a huge generalization, but it is insensitive. I work in the medical field and for example someone has skin cancer I don't say oh no worries almost everyone has had skin cancer in fact I've seen 20 other patients today with skin cancer. He then went on to list a personal story of when he was involved in a hit-and-run. Never do I talk to my patients about personal situations because everyone's situation is different and how it affects their life is different. The most unacceptable part of this whole thing is that I did get the first three digits of his license plate. I'm sure of that but may May have messed up the last three digits. Regardless, the first three digits the make and model and color of the vehicle and the state of the license plate, I bet if I was given the system they have I can find the driver in 30 seconds....depending on how user friendly the system is of course. I feel like this was just pushed aside because of more serious issues, which I'm sure there are on a week day morning in Albuquerque. However I feel with just a little bit of effort from one cop, there could be repercussions for the guy that hit me. Thankfully my car was not that damaged and neither me nor my boyfriend were injured, but that driver is out there either driving on a suspended license, driving a stolen car, or just being reckless in other senses and not even getting any punishment for it. Also I'm sure there are cameras in the vicinity as I was hit right near in elementary school. I know this isn't going to turn into FBI investigation to find the driver of a hit-and-run, but it doesn't require that to find the person that hit me and I just wish there was more effort on the part of the police officers. The only reason I gave two stars was because the front desk lady at the osuna office was very helpful and pleasant when I went into file the station report so thank you to her. Additionally thank you to all cops as well I know they put their lives on the line for us and that is definitely appreciated. I'm just very upset with how this whole situation was handled by the Albuquerque police.
Commemorating is fine; try to treat the environment respectably. I still can't understand how officers zip at 90 or higher all the time then will ticket others. Littering I do believe is a crime.... I don't believe these persons will be held accountable to that law.
They screw the hard working class and do nothing to fight crime in my neighborhood. Ignorant people with no support for us. 4 1/2 hour response times and no "community". Btw. I live 40 seconds from the substation. Domestic terrorists
Attempted THREE-DAYS in succession to reach someone via the Osuna Road, N.E., branch and the recording kept repeating, as if mal-functioning that they were not available. Great to hear as this was an emergency!
Oh great, a police department with a non-working telephone number. APD is non existent in this third world country of a city. The junkies, the homeless, and the criminals own Albuquerque now
Very unprofessional. Went to make a report and ended up going to 3 other stations and wasting half of a day. Keep your people informed abq. This wouldn't happen in a real city.
I visited the place to file an accident report. The staff was very helpful.
It's 7:00 am and no one will pick up the phone for a vandalism report.
Phone numbers don't work need to file a police reports
I love this place
