CATERING REVIEW We reached out to ask about a special order for 2 croquembouches for our wedding. There were concerns over the distance and timing, so we were in discussions with the catering team to see if it would be possible. On Friday, we were given a verbal quote of a $300 delivery fee and a late delivery limit of 8pm. Since we planned on eating them between 7:30 and 8, it was perfect. We asked for a copy of the quote and were told it would be emailed shortly. On Monday, we still had not received the quote, so I reached out to check on the status. I got on the phone with who seemed to be the catering manager (I did not catch their name), and asked about the order. They asked me for my information and abruptly put me on hold for ~5min. After taking me off hold, they said that there were concerns with the order and started bringing up all the issues we had cleared on the previous Friday. This is where things got unprofessional. We were rehashing the distance and timing, and they told me that the delivery fee would be $400 ($100 more than previously discussed) and 5:30 was the latest they could deliver. When I mentioned that we were told 8pm in our previous call, they blatantly said "they didn't tell you that." I replied "ma'am, please don't call me a liar." At this point, they hung up. About a minute later, I was called back and told they didn't know what happened but that they would not be taking our order. They vaguely alluded that they tried to work with us, but that it wasn't going to work out. Up until this point, none of the interactions had be negative at all. Apparently we had been speaking with an assistant up until the last call, so the sudden change in tone was unexpected. While it is understandable that you may not be able to accommodate certain requests, this is an example of how NOT to go about it. I'm honestly just surprised at the lack of tact. Maybe we were told wrong information in our previous discussions, but to insinuate a customer is lying is a bad look.

Check the content of what you’re purchasing prior to leaving the establishment. I went to both Alon’s in a month and both times my order was messed up. I didn’t think I had to micromanage the establishments. After-all, I’m only getting a few bakery items. This is why I’m posting a review. The first time-was at the peachtree road establishment-it was on purpose. The rude lady kept asking which bakery item I wanted. I was clear. Even pointing at them. But I guess it was the last one of those items & she wanted it for herself so she did a switch & put a different item in the box then disappeared after she noticed we sat down to eat. We didn’t notice the switch because we were eating lunch not dessert. Found out later back home (an hour away). Let it slide. Just went to the highlands establishment and my order was missing an item. An item that we walked over to and repeated exactly what we wanted, so there was no room for error. Not even sure if we paid for the missing item or not because they didn’t give us a receipt. One time shame on you.. second time shame on me! Nothing special about the items. And since I already drive an hour to make the purchase I’ll just stick with Bernard’s. Where there’s never a mess up and the employees are kind & open the box at the register to make sure you’re getting what your paying for.

The dessert here have always warmed up my heart. I used to work here and everything still taste amazing. When I told my husband that I was coming here, he gave me a list of desserts to buy my caring how much they cost. Yes the price went up since I was working there but hey, everything in life is increasing plus Alon wants to become one of the best bakeries out there. I heard that he just opened a new one at Phipps Plaza mall. Just wanted to say thanks for the experience working there and congrats on the new location. You went from opening this location in 1992 and moving your way up in 2021 with 3 locations in total. I’m a 1993 baby and my husband is 1992 so I understand how much time you spent working hard and becoming something great!
This is one of the two locations in Atlanta. We ordered online for pickup. Decorative and themed interior design that promotes the experience of an European market. Overall, the food was delicious and savory. We also purchased a piece of layered chocolate cake with white icing. The confectionery was delightfully moist and luxurious tasting. At first, we were confused since we were nit aware of there being two locations. Then customer service was unhelpful and delayed. Despite our experience at the location, the quality of the food was fabulous despite being pricey. They have an exuberant amount of options and from a bag of chips to a macroon to a meatball to wine.
There was a really welcoming vibe inside the store! The ordering system is a bit confusing, especially when the staff didn’t apparently tell everyone in line where they had to pay to receive things from the deli. I think we went during a rush because the employees definitely seemed more irritable than usual. I would have given 5 stars for the pastries, but we found mold inside of the raspberry on top of the raspberry mousse! That led us to question the freshnesss of everything else on display as well.

Quality products. The sweets and sandwiches we tried were delicious, the price is high, but it's worth it for the quality. I found the place small and uncomfortable, people are touching each other, and any place we stop to look at a product will certainly be in someone's way. I didn't like the service, the frowning employees.

While their food was OK, the café felt cold and unfriendly. Nearly every single person who worked there was rude. It wouldn’t have been surprising if it was just one person but all the 5-6 employees I interacted with were cold and unfriendly. I told the guy working at the cheese counter that the date almond cake was expired and he could’ve cared less. He just left it there. It was quite disconcerting how unfriendly the place felt. As a side note, I was just passing by the city. Finally, the barstools are quite uncomfortable and not conducive to having long conversations.
Customer service review: Lady at the pastry / croissant area needs to lighten up. She came off really rude, she acted as if we were bothering her to just do her job. We don’t expect you to act like a cartoon character all chipper but you would at least act like you’re trying. Only person who seemed nice was the checkout counter people. Food was okay but the vibe just turned me off to this place. Won’t go again unfortunately.

We really like going to this place. We mostly buy breads, cookies and desserts from them and they all are pretty good. They have a small cheese and wine section along with a prepared foods section, a sandwich counter and other canned stuff, etc. They are being strict about Covid - allowing only a few people in the store at any time and you have to wear a mask to enter the store, or buy one from them for a dollar. Kudos to them for trying to keep everyone safe. They have adequate parking and a few outdoor tables to sit and enjoy.
Such a wonderful bakery with everything you’d expect from a high end shop. Reminds me of Dean & DeLuca in DC. They do full meals for the holidays too! Not a better bakery ITP.

The market portion is very nice and it sees a lot of patronage from the locals, especially people there for the breakfast hours. They have a wide variety of things for sale, including baked goods, cheese, wine, an open make your own pasta bar and even a butcher? Overall, very impressed with the variety, however the prices of certain things are through the roof, such as a croissant for almost 4 dollars. You can find decent deals but don't come here looking for your typical grocery market prices.
Prepared foods, bakery, and cashiers were really nice. The soup section was slow and rude overall. It's one thing to be slow and indifferent. To top it off, they only filled the soup 80% and gave me the wrong bread; I know the order print out had the correct bread. Look at my history, I don't write many low reviews. I know, first world problems.

Came here today for the first time with some friends! We had a great time. The vibe inside is super cute, and there’s also a nice outdoor seating area. They have a ton of stuff here! There are baked goods, premade options, sandwiches, soups, and little snacks! I had the spicy Tunisian tuna and a very fun cronut-esque strawberry lemon pastry. My friends had the smoked pepper turkey and the chicken tomatillo soup. Everything was super tasty! I’d definitely come back!
I’ve discovered yet another bakery to patronize when I need a sweet treat! Nicely nestled in the Virginia Highland area this is a neighborhood gem. I stumbled upon this bakery in my mission to purchase cookies as a gift. The bakery has so much character and a wide variety of fresh baked goods, as well as cheeses. The free parking lot has limited spots, but I was lucky and got one. The vibe is friendly and neighborly. Many customers walk or ride their bikes.
My family and were able to sample the macaroons. My very first time trying them, not a fan. My nieces and nephew weren’t a fan either. Not quite what I expected. I did try the layered cake black and white, can’t recall the name - pretty good. My brother had the key lime and said he wish it had a little more crust in the custard to crust ratio. And the children demolished their fruit salads.

When I first walked in I thought oh that reminds me of a place back home in Europe. I’ve tried many bakeries and patisseries in the US and only two have come close to European standards Dominique Ansel in New York and République Café in LA. This place is another one that leads people to believe they have great pastries but in reality it’s just overpriced mediocre quality bakery items not better than pastries you can get at Lidl.
Feels like you walked into a bakery In Italy. The atmosphere is nostalgic. Amazing array of breads and pastries. Not a fan of their salad bar though. Everything looks dry (hence the 4 star for food)

Overall terrible business. The quality of the food has gone downhill. I have had many poorly made sandwiches with incorrect orders. Not to mention they don’t manage their hours or locations on google which inconveniences customers. I will never go back.

A little pricey, but worth it. Great selection of cheeses and homemade sweets, plus some unique dried goods. Small but solid selection of wines. The bakery is amazing, and always smells delightful. I love the gruyere scones and plain croissants. Coffee is also pretty good. I enjoy stopping by here after a Saturday morning workout at Pure Barre.
I introduced my girlfriend to Alon’s Bakery & Market this past weekend. She and I enjoyed our brunch experience including the sweet and savory aroma that greeted us as we walked into the establishment. I proudly and strongly recommend to stop by salon for breakfast, lunch and/dinner. They craft delicious sandwiches and pastries.
Lovely market with bakery, great cheese case, semolina pastas, preserves, prepared food case as well as desserts. They also serve sandwiches and soups. My favorite item so far though has been their amazing banana nut bread! Super flavorful and - I don’t like this word either but can’t think of another one at the moment - moist!
First time at Alon's, Saturday morning breakfast done ✅. Ordered twice roasted almond croissant, blueberry muffin, chocolate croissant and cappuccino with oat milk. The croissants were just amazing! The coffee was ok not so great. Busy place on weekends. But would definitely go back to try the other stuff.
This place feels like the Atlanta airport, employees pointing you in different directions while also being rude and harsh. It’s a confusing ordering system without signage, and godforbid you ask someone for help. You get a lot of this like ok, sorry I tried to enjoy your establishment BYE …
Was in town for my daughter Dr appointments. Wanted to try something new between her appointments. Wonderful staff ,baked goods, was amazing. Don't go in thinking you are not going to spend a lot. because after we made our first selection, we had to get some for the road. It was amazing.
Bought the raspberry chocolate moose cake. So yummy! The place has so much more to offer. I wish I had more time (had to rush home before rush hours start) to explore other options from cheese to bakery to sandwich. They all looks so good. Will definitely come back to have brunch.
I actually really enjoy the coffee here! I stop by frequently. Service is hit or miss, but it doesn’t matter to me since I’m just there in and out. One lady at the front register deserves a raise. She’s always friendly and in a good mood. I’ll ask her for her name next time :-)
Customer Service is an issue here although the food is really good. Sometimes the people who work there are friendly and helpful, but often, especially over the phone, they are surprisingly rude acting like you’re bothering them.
Cute place, made us an amazing birthday cake. Also, have french toast flavored cotton candy!

I went today to this place and everything was so fresh and delicious but the croissant could be more filled with chocolate, is delicious but deserves more filling. The only bad thing about this place is the parking ️
The pics don't do this place justice. The Best salmon and veggie sandwiches. I love their choco and oatmeal raisin cookies. Their hummus and deli sides are amazing. Soup is awesome! It's a fantastic day when I con go to ALON!
I booked Alons for a variety dessert tray & tiramisu for our wedding and everything was delicious! There were no desserts left at the end of the night so it must have been good would recommend for event/catering. …
Nice bakery. I only went in for a dozen macaroons for a party I was having. They were delicious. Service was helpful. I need to go back to have a full experience.

Great selection of deli and bakery favorites from sandwiches and sides to astride and deserts. Super efficient and friendly staff. Alon’s also caters. Parking can be challenging but worth the effort.
The place definitely gives a European vibe. Well stocked, well laid out, everything is easy to see and reach. The baked goods are wonderful, the staff is Pleasant. Definitely will be back again soon.
Everything was impeccable. We had the key lime tart, the new opera tiramisu, and a whole assortment of macarons. Very happy with the service and the feel of this place, would absolutely go again.
Alon's pretty gross and hypocritical. Instead of paying their employees a better and well-deserved salary, they force the customers to pay a 15% tip for grocery shopping every time
I love this bakery! They have so much more than just baked goods, but so far, that’s all I’ve tried & they are delicious! I can’t wait to try to warm food they have & sandwiches!
I bought the Midnight cake for a small birthday party and it was a HIT! The cake was gone by the end of the day. I definitely will come back to try some of the other food I saw
Fabulous selection of pastries, cheese, breads and prepared food. Great place for breakfast or lunch. We had the Bruschetta and 2 sides. Everything was delicious …
Our server Shemeka was extremely pleasant. She helped me decide what cake to pick with my large latte ($4.65). The chocolate truffle cake ($7) was excellent.
This place is just soooooooo gooooooood! I would love to live across the street from it so I can have their desserts every 30 minutes! In love with it!
the best desserts and yummy treats. We always order our celebration cakes from Alons, and it's always consistently delicious. Midnight cake is our favo
Love their pastries. Delivery could be a lot more timely. They seem a bit disorganized when it comes to getting pastries to shops on time.
Amazing experience! Denise was so helpful and great! Food made with love! They know what they are doing. Great patio space outside.
Enjoyed it. Great place for a morning snack and latte where you can get picnic supplies or a takeaway lunch. Excellent pastries.
