Alpha car hire is located at A1 airport parking. When landed from terminal 2 please walk out to the airport shuttle lane, call alpha car hire that you have arrived and wait for a shuttle bus. The shuttle bus would write “A1” on the windscreen and it’s visible. The driver is friendly and you can just ask if this brings you to alpha car hire. A1 airport parking is 5-10 minutes away from Melbourne airport. I was served by Steven, super friendly guy, goes through the documents and car assigned to you. Everything was super smooth. There will be a credit card deposit required depending on how many days so the deposit fee varies. I believe you can also use cash. Do ask the staff. I was assigned a new MG car which is only a year old. Everything was perfect with CarPlay. The car is smooth and no issues with the car. It was perfect. When returning the vehicle, everything was simple. Make sure you fuel up the vehicle, also try to clean your vehicle before returning. I washed and vacuum the car the day before I return. Steven checked the car and everything was great. The credit card refund was done in the spot as well. This will be my go to rental company for many years to come. Thumbs up to alpha car hire. Note: There are too many negative reviews on google that does no justice to the company. I have personally tried and can attest the amazing service they rendered.

Effortlessly fantastic! I had a terrific experience with Alpha car hire Melbourne. I chose Alpha as they had great reviews and it was half the price of all the other major car hire companies at Melbourne airport (who had pretty bad reviews despite being reputable companies). Renting a hire car can be daunting, especially with so many offerings, different terms and conditions and a majority have high excess fees if something happens, unless you fork out a big amount on their in-house insurance. After hours comparing companies I decided to give Alpha a go. I called with some questions and the lady who answered was so helpful and sweet! She booked my rental in with ease and I was left feeling so impressed by the customer service I received! The shuttle from the terminal was easy to book and arrived quickly. The driver was such a fun girl and my partner and I had a great chat with her. The pick-up process was really easy and quick. The MG ZS EXCITE we rented did the job for the week and we had no issues. The checkout was even easier! We just handed our keys to the lovely lady and the desk and we were off to the airport! Thank you to the Alpha team and Melbourne airport for such an stress-free and easy process! It really made our trip so carefree. You are what all rental companies should be! Not very bad, not very good. 1 - booking on website shows pick-up is at airport, and when when i got my voucher, it says off airport. 2 - there was no mention of security deposits on the website or third party pages, or even in the voucher. Until when you collect car, they ask for security deposits. 3 - they could jus put informations about shuttle is every 10mins interval and where to find it, rather than to make us call them. I had difficulty getting to call out, since i can purchase data and use data only. 4 - after i returned car, the staff didnt mentioned to me how to get my security deposits released. I have to find it out thru a SMS being sent to me, and it looks like a scam SMS. 5 - security deposits takes 28-31 days to be released. 6 - the car i got was an equivilient of KIA sportage. I was arranged with HAVAL (china brand). Not too bad to drive, full tank gives a range of about close to 600km. 7 - car is clean 8 - the car system ask to be serviced when i got it.

Alpha car hire is off site at Melbourne airport. We landed terminal 3 and called to say we had arrived. The shuttle bus driver was friendly and efficient and on-site as we walked up to the pick up area. Their property is 5-10 minutes away from Melbourne airport. I was served by friendly staff, went through the documents, assigned the car, explained the toll charges app and the credit card deposit required. Staff member did visual check of the car before asking me to sign condition report. Very thorough. Everything was perfect with CarPlay. No issues with the car. When returning the vehicle, everything was simple. We fuelled up near to the airport, handed in the keys, waited only five minutes for the shuttle to take us back to the airport. The credit card deposit hold was removed the next day. Definitely going to use Alpha Car Hire again.

Pick up was okay, just took a long time to be attended as there was only 1 reception working on the day. However, the drop off was terrible, they told me to arrive by 5 to 6pm as they close at 6 but the traffic was terrible I could only make it by 6pm as the gps updated its time. I wanted to ensure they aren’t closed so I gave them a ring at 5.15pm but my call got transferred to the after hour service desk and they told me they have shut early without any valid reasons. I was so worried I would miss my flight as I didn’t have any idea how to return the vehicle without the staff being on the site. They couldn’t help me through the phone and hung up on me, just told me to ask the shops around them for help which I think is so irresponsible. Just so terrible, wouldn’t recommend.

The car I received smelled like an ashtray full of cigarettes! I let them know and asked for replacement. But, they only used a spray in the car which only worked for 5 minutes. I drove 45 minutes to my destination with my wife and kids in that smell. Called them and let them know that I will drive back to return the car. So, after a long journey, I had to drive back again. They promised that at least they won’t charge the tolls cause it’s their issue which they charge that later as well. I have booked cars many times in my trips and has never been treated like that. The second car also had tire pressure issues which caused the car to be felt too unsafe. I won’t even recommend them to my enemy!!!!

Hands down, amazing service! Easy online booking, very competitive pricing, car was immaculate and a dream to drive. Customer Service staff are down to earth and a real crack up, shout out to Debi and Natasha, what a riot these ladies are, really made my day sharing a laugh with them after a really hard, emotional week in Australia (wasnt there for fun as such). I didnt find great CS whilst in Australia but these ladies really made up for that. Also the lady working on Saturday 30th July was fantastic (didnt get her name). Will highly recommend to friends travelling to Aussie and will use them next time I'm over.

Rate is fine. The staff lacked patience and the process was very slow. They did not like to answer your questions. They were unfriendly to me and felt discriminated against me. The car I rent CarPlay is not working which is really bad. Also sometimes the reversing camera is not working as well. Not that what he said was new, and these problems were not told to me before I drove away. Pick up location and drop method is not convenient, not suitable for people who need rush to go. Not recommend Especially if you're visiting Melbourne for the first time. Will not use this company again.

Booked online for a vehicle for 16 days driving from Melbourne to Adelaide and back. The only positive web customer reviews I read is for Alpha. True enough, I rate them 5 stars for prompt response, clear communication, ease of pick up with airport shuttle and car return. Best part is Mr Stephen granted an upgrade to a brand new 7 seater SUV and loaned me an iPhone cable for Apple Play connection which made my driving for the whole trip so much more enjoyable. I will definitely recommend Alpha for everyone who wish to enjoy driving in or from Melbourne. Price is most reanable.

Originally, I paid 50 dollars in advance at the airport rental car When I made an intenet booking and I was advised that the payment amount was 70 dollars at the counter, but I asked for 148 dollars when I reached to the counter. I paid $148 but when I realised that I had overpaid and requested a refund at the next day. The contract he presented was not even signed by me, and I demanded that the original contract be 70 dollars, but it was rejected with insulting language. He ripped off me.. be carefull for this company.

Outstanding experience. This is my first time renting a car from Alpha & it was one of the best auto rental experience ever. Great price, as it was 50% less expensive than others. Quick pickup at Melbourne airport, a few minutes ride to rental center. Check in staff was extremely nice & efficient. Got the vehicle we requested, it was fine. Also efficient return & ride back to MEL airport. A week later, we received email with toll charges & it was pleasantly cheap, with no other fees/charges. Highly recommended.

This was our second time of hiring a van(People Mover) from Alpha. It was very positive from the beginning to the end. Steve who welcome us at the office was a great man of help in finding the best way to return the vehicle over the weekend. So we ended up saving heaps from the beginning to the end by paying only half of the rate of other big rental corporates and getting the airport drop-off service from the rental office. Easy to book online, super friendly team, we had an overall great experience. Super handy to have the shuttle too! The only thing I can say was a slight worry was that we had a warning light on the dash and no vehicle manual to refer to in the vehicle - I would like to suggest having a copy of the manual readily available in case of situations like this (where you’re most likely not familiar with the specific make/model of car). The team were really good about the whole thing! Would recommend :)

Alpha car hire exceeds my expectations and I was so happy I chose them for our car ental during our 1 week holiday in Melbourne. Everything was smooth from booking to pick up, very friendly and accomodating staff and no hidden fees as everything was explained thoroughly, our bond was given back hours after we returned our rental car which surprised me as other rental companies gives you days even weeks to get your money back. Highly recommended and will rent again from them on our next holiday.

I cannot recommend Alpha enough. We rented a car from Melbourne Tullamarine. We had a couple of card issues after our initial booking and within the cancellation period that required flexibility from Alpha. When dealing with companies all i ever ask for us understanding and to make things easy, I didn’t get his name but the guy we dealt with did exactly that. Very straight forward process. Utterly useless, kept my name on their automated account & kept receiving bills for tolls even though wasn't in the state mentioned in invoices. No customer service even after sending emails telling them of mistakes. Would never use again, rubbish in car when first picked it up didn't get off to a good start then to get threatening letters from eastlink of unpaid tolls. Would never recommend to anyone. Zero stars if possible. Absolutely terrible experience

I hired a vehicle on Saturday the 16th till monday 18 dec. Upon recieving the vehicle MG ZS the vehicle was filthy and not washed. Furthermore, i dont like the feeling of paying for vehicle insurance twice. Tried to discus this when handing the vehicle in and was told as we when through discovery, Alpha have no communication with them and are unaware if we purchased insurence from the website, hence why i paid it twice. Will not use your services anymore

Shuttle to and from the airport is easy. Follow the map sent via email after booking, shuttle runs every 15 mins even before the 7am open so you don't technically need to call for pickup like we were told. (would have saved us 20 mins of waiting). Drop off after hours was easy even when the Alpha was closed as we dropped our keys off at the parking place next to the office. Great value car hire a lot cheaper then the others. Thanks again for your help

From the let go, from the airport to the rental place which was like 15mins from Melbourne Tullamarine airport was fast. I called the office that I needed a ride and the shuttle was already there. I hired a small compact car Kia and had no issues. Returned it back and got a ride back to the airport. The cars are clean and modern, the service is excellent compared to the other generic rental cars and affordable. Highly recommend.

Rented one of their Compact Automatic series, was quite surprised to receive a fairly new car (2000 Mileage) best part is it is filled with features. They were in the middle of shifting into their new office and they also made the effort to call you a day or 2 before your pick up to ensure that you have all the important information. Overall a fairly good experience and will definitely rent from them again in the future.

I had a great experience with Alpha Car Hire. The pricing was very reasonable, the service was excellent, and the car ran smoothly without any issues. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the 500km limit per day, and the fee for driving beyond is quite expensive. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend Alpha Car Hire for anyone looking for a reliable and affordable car hire service.

I have never had such a horrible experience as here. The attitude of the staff lady( Debi) this morning on 1st August was terrible, racist attitudes and contempt for customers. I come here to rent a car and of course I will have to pay for the car rental. I did not ask her to let me rent a car for free. Need to review the working attitude of the staff

On arrival, the team at Alpha greeted me warmly. The car was ready on time and in perfect condition. The team member who walked me to the car gave me a briefing on its operation and even lifted my bag into the boot. During the period of hire there were no mechanical difficulties and on my return the staff once again made me feel welcome and valued.

Great customer service! I was scheduled to return at 6:00pm and and I got stuck. I called Alpha Car Hire Melbourne Airport and requested for the next day drop-off and they were happy for me to do that in the morning the next day. Used Alpha Car Hire recently and had a great experience. Pickup and drop-off was quick and efficient. A shuttle service operates between the airport and depot which makes things very easy. Very helpful. Just be wary when you come in off the airport shuttle that you could be waiting up to 20-30 minutes for your journey to start. As it takes time to hand out the vehicles. Bringing car back: Building needs some maintenance as in where to park your rental on return but comfy lounges while waiting for shuttle.

Is a very helpful, informative, smooth car pick up process and no hidden fees on the transaction. Even during precheck the car condition together, nothing to worry about for any small scratches and dents, after a normal usage of the car. Defrauding elderly drivers after notifying them you’ve already paid for insurance once, then being intimidated into paying again after an 10 hour flight and then being told you can’t be helped because “we don’t know anything. No one tells us anything” isn’t really indicative of a good service. Disappointing

Unfortunately on pick up and driving away noticed warning light and returned to depot to be told tyre pressure alert should have mentioned that not important. Windows were dirty had to stop to clean front windscreen.Otherwise reasonable priced vehicle.

When flying intestate, I have used alpha car hire plenty of times and although their cars aren't actually located at the airport, the shuttle bus and service of the drivers is fantastic. Their cars represent good value for money compared to some of the major players in the game.

Car was clean and good condition. Pick u/drop off to airport was easy and convenient. Only negative was Alpha double charged my credit card and then were extremely unhelpful in organising a refund, therefore I had to dispute the transaction through my bank.

This offsite car rental is only a short shuttle to/from the airport. Pick up and drop off were quick, the staff were friendly and the car was as described. We've hired from them twice and we've had good experiences both times.
