I can't say enough about this place. I thought I had lost all hope and faith in veterinarians and their ethics. After many many years (20+) of going to a different vet, trying the big chain ones and even shopping a few around town. I decided a couple years ago to just give this place a shot. I just needed annual shots for my new rescues and they seemed reasonably priced. I scheduled my appointment and just took them in. I didn't make small talk or even try to get to know the doctor and staff because I had been so jaded by all my years of trust in my previous vet, I just wanted to get in an out. Everyone here was very professional and courteous and I was surprised that the prices were even less then expected. They never tried to "suggest" unnecessary tests, treatments, foods, medicines, nothing. Only what I needed. Well I have continued to see them for I think about 5 years now. I've only had to go in for annual exams, and even as my dogs have aged they still haven't tried to upsale me on "senior fees". Well about a month ago I had my first problem. My larger dog starting having some strange cognitive symptoms. I took him in and once again I was only charged for tests that truly were needed. Afterwards the doctor explained everything so thoroughly and used examples to make sure I really understood. He gave me some medicine and called me in a week to check in on the status. I didn't have to go back in or pay another office visit fee! The doctor just literally called out of (what felt like) true concern. We spoke for probably 20 minutes or more, never rushing me off the phone and making sure to answer all my questions. Unfortunately over the past weekend my dog took a very serious turn for the worst. I called at 8 am sharp this morning (Monday) and the phone was answered immediately and they got me in by 10 am. Because of Covid they are doing curbside pick up. Where you wait in your car and they come get your pet and then bring them back out. Well my dog could barely stand so I assumed they'd come carry him in. No, the doctor came and did the exam right there in my car! He wanted to make sure my sweet baby was as comfortable as possible and that we were present to talk about the findings. Turned out to be the news I was dreading, the journey to the base of the rainbow bridge. However, they took so much time out in the heat, never once rushing. The doctor and his assistant explained every single option I had, from most expensive to least expensive to of course the most logical given the circumstance. They never pressured me or made me feel guilty like my old vet had. They were just so caring and genuine. I really can't express what that means to me especially in a time of grief where you can easily be influenced to spend money you don't even have. I'm sorry this is such a long review, I just wanted to truly express my love and respect for this facility, doctor, assistants and staff. Their professionalism, empathy, sympathy and ethics are absolutely unmatched! I hope if you've been taken advantage of in the past that you'll give Animal Clinic of Oceanway a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Good afternoon neighbors. I wanted you to know about an amazing experience I just lived. I don't know if ppl in this city actually believe all puertorican women resolve everything making a scene but SORRY, this christian lady does not. I called early this morning various vets to inquire on pricing to get my dog neutered. I just found out why the vet clinic in Main St is always empty. After calling a few supposdly price efficient add places, I called the Main St Vet by the Bacardi and asked Erin (who answered) the price for two shots and neutering. I also told her I needed it all today because it's the only day off I have in the week. She gave me a price, I advised her my dog hasn't eat (I knew from other vets he had to not have eat) and she gave me a time to get to the office and a price. I thought the price was too little and asked her twice if she was sure that was the price for all I needed. She assured me the price twice. I visited the office out of location convinience. And I got there before time, in case other thing where needed. Erin greeted me and dissappeared while I was taken to the office by another young lady. Not only did then I get told they don't do that in the afternoons, but also that the price is more than twice what Erin told me. But that didn't surprised me since I knrew that couldn't be the price from scratch. The worst was that, after been lied to, I hear the Doctor (I have a condition which has me have 120% or more hearing) telling someone else that no one would have given me that price, so I was lying accordfing to him. Bless them for taking away my trust in them. Had to do the shots anyways because due to the appointment time they gave me and having 1 day for the shots, had no other option. I kept my nice of course, to which they where surprise for. And they kept repeating they waived an exam they never made and I told them not to do. Not only I was lied to but was also called a liar and to complete, they care sooo much about pets that they had my poor doggy all day not eating for nothing. Just wanted you all to be aware, since it may be a trick they use to force you do business with them.

I can not express my sincere appreciation to Dr. Adem and his staff. Greg, Crystal, Halley, your the best! Thank you for your loving care and Concern... From the first visit Dr. Adem was able to diagnose my 14 year old poodles issue at first glance. With confidence, and genuine concern he made his suggestions, but without pressure let me decide what step was next. Dreading the cost, I had arranged a date for surgery about 2 mths out. Unfortunately after a week or so I had a return visit because my furry baby girl wasn’t eating. Labs and x-rays were done for a moderate price and Doc said what the problem was and how to treat. Payment was rendered, but Dr. Adem saw the worse would come and made the same diagnosis he did the first visit. He said that though he was treating the ear infection, tooth pain and limp, that WASN’T going to save what would have been a dying dog. He said emergency surgery was needed for what us humans would call a hysterectomy. My poodle had extreme elevated WBC counts among other out of wack labs. Yes she is an old lady but other test revealed she still had fight left in her. I took her home and she nearly passed out. Still reluctant to pay for a surgery on an older dog, my phone rang... My sweet baby had one more test that was mentioned but didn’t really hear when doc was examining. This was life or death. Surgery the next morning was amazing with phenomenal results thanks to Dr. Adem...She is recovering well and more energetic than any average 80+ year old could be, even a day after surgery. You should see the uterus, fallopian tubs and enlarged ovaries (look on their FB page).. So infected, she would have died if it wouldn’t have been for him. Thank you so much for giving me another few years with my fur baby... The pice was half what I would have paid a BluePearl or any other pet hospital or even clinic. Dr. Adem is fair, knowledgeable and a OUTSTANDING Vet! Thanks again...

My dog was scheduled under an incorrect profile who is not the owner nor knows of the animal. Someone made a mistake scheduling an appointment under the wrong customer to blame the current customer for the issue? When calling in it is admins job to confirm and collect information (I do this for a living). This facility could have sent our confirmation emails and receipts to a person who knows nothing of the animal yet could have came and picked up our animal from its visit due to receiving our information and our animal being put under someone else’s name completely. They lied about the person calling in to make the appointment. How would someone make an apt for a dog they don’t know exists? Greg is confrontational when speaking to him about their mistake. Also saying we would need to contact a person we have no contact with In order to get our animal unassociated with the non owners account considering they booked our animals appointment under someone else’s name. Not to mention *Greg* hung up on me as soon as I mentioned HIPPA laws and when I called back *Danny* refused to speak with me stating I “cussed at Greg” which is incorrect information. Making this big of a mistake at a Vets office is a huge deal and a violation of someones privacy. You would think they would fix their mistake and not argue?

Sometimes you find a place that's SO GOOD, you just have to tell everyone! From the front office staff, to the vet techs and the doctors, we are so pleased to be patients at Animal Clinic of Oceanway! If you have questions, they have answers! If you are in doubt, they will help put your mind at ease. When your pet needs them, they are available. And when your pet has issues, they know what to do to help calm him and make his visit pleasant. My dog had a bad experience getting his nails cut at Petsmart. After that, he wanted to snap and growl at everyone, including us, if we tried to touch his paws or get near his feet! The vet explained that he wasn't "BAD", that he was just scared. After Lincolns visit, he was a happy dog, "smiling" and wagging his tail like his old self again! I appreciate the expert advice and professional and caring team at Animal Clinic of Oceanway. Their prices are reasonable and their knowledge and care is extraordinary. If you care about your pet, you owe it to yourself and your pet to visit Animal Clinic of Oceanway.

I went in and they were very friendly. However they needed to take blood to test for heartworms and she had to call in a helper which was the vet I'm assuming, she decided to try drawing blood from my dogs neck and stuck him over and over digging around in his neck at least 20 times trying to find the vein, I could hardly watch. After 5 mins of trying over and over she finally decided to try his paw and they got it the 1st time -_- Then they proceeded the exam and diddnt go over what they were going to do nor did they tell me how much each thing they did was going to cost. She then suggested I have him on flea/tick/hartworm meds but I was low on funds and insisted I get it now. Then after, I went to pay and their machine was acting up, I went to swipe again and it said I had insufficient funds because it had pulled twice. Needless to say I feel much professionalism is missing from this vet and question the care my pups would get from this place.

We called around to a bunch of different places and everyone turned us away and gave us another number. When we finally called the Clinic of Oceanway, they told us they had other appointments but since this was an emergency and they would see our dog right away. They were really sweet and caring and explained everything to us. When they examined her they knew what was going on right away. We ended up having to put our dog down, and it was very hard for us. But they were sweet and there for us and gave us the time we needed. Their prices I would say were I great price, or at least not over priced. To examine her for new customers at the time it only cost 1 dollar. I would recommend them to anyone that needs to take their dog to the clinic or emergency services.

I have been taking my dog here for a couple of years, but had considered changing due to high prices. I got a card from Animal Clinic of Oceanway and bit on the "free" nail trim if we came in within a month. I feel like a real sucker. My dog is healthy, but needs heartworm meds and a parasite test. We weren't in the office 10 minutes including the nail trimming. For a 12 month supply of heartworm meds, the worm test, (I brought in the sample) and a 5 gram container of ointment, the bill was $273! My son quit taking his dog here due to the high prices, and I'm not going back either. It's one thing to pay for an injured or sick animal, but to pay that much for a routine visit is too steep. Most of the price was for the overpriced meds.

I have been taking my dogs and cats to Animal Clinic of Oceanway for many years. In the past I had always been very happy. The last few years I had noticed their prices had increased. They stopped boarding, so I had to find another place to board. The time has come to send our dog over the rainbow bridge, so I called to find out the cost. I was given a price and told her that I would call back to make the appointment, then a few minutes later she called me back and said she gave me the wrong price and it was going to be $20 more. It just hit me wrong so I told her I would be checking with other vets. I have found a vet closer to where i live that is doing it for $60 less. I'll be changing vets.

Hidden Charges - How a $45. office visit turned into $170. They are all nice people up there that I have no complaints. But the prices of there Meds will knock your socks off. The list price of drug were tripled in my last visit. What cost them one dollar per pill I was charged over $10. per pill. For 6 pills, I paid close to $70. Who knows what it cost them for the shot they have my cat. When questioned they said we can give you the script and you can buy them any where you want. The only problem with that was my cat needed them immediately. So I had no choice but to pay them. When I presented the bill to another local vet they told me you got ripped off.

Had a great experience today. My dog had a pretty bad ear infection. The doctor and assistant were thorough with explaining what's going on and the treatment plan. They were great with him also. He is such a sweetheart but he gets a little growlyyyy so he got muzzled for safety. They let me put it on because he was so nervous and antsy. They did great during the exam and were very calm to keep him calmer. (He is in pain and his anxiety is high) Only thing that shocked me was my total cost. I didn't expect it to be that much. Great service though! - Hopefully he will be feeling better soon ❤️ We come back in 2 weeks to recheck him.

We had a very positive experience here, we called early in the morning with what we thought was an emergency and they were able to get us in just a half hour later, when we got there the receptionist asked us a few questions and then a technician showed us to a room, so there was no wait time and we didn't have to fill out any paperwork even though we were new clients. It turned out to not be an emergency but they answered all of our questions and listened to all of our concerns and made us feel much better. I would defiantly recommend this clinic to anyone! I’ve been meaning to write a review about oceanway vet for a while. After i found them 3 years ago, I will not take my dogs anywhere else. The MOST amazing service. Such a kind, welcoming environment. One of my dogs has severe anxiety with other humans and every tech and our doc approaches her with such patience and understanding. Dr. Jedicka is like the Ms. Frizzle of vets. Knowledgeable, SO kind, and truly loves her job. If you’re looking for a vet around Jax, look no further. I’ve tried at least 4 others around every part of town and these guys are by far the best.

Neighbors cat was stacked by dogs this morning and they took him in and cared for him all day and he is doing good. Had pretty bad wounds and they didn't try and charge for unnecessary things. Very friendly and reasonable for what they did and how long they kept him. They continued to see him daily through that week, keeping him all day due to fever from infection and were so helpful, caring and reasonably priced I will be switching my vet to them as my vet is across town. So very satisfied with their care and pricing!!!

100% do not agree with this vets customer service. Called to remove someone off of the account that was on my receipts. I do not know who the person and phone number attached to the account is or was they refused to replace my name on the account of the puppy I just got. When I called to speak with the them about this the "gentleman" was extremely rude and I have no patience for that. Especially after giving thebvet $285 in 2 puppy visits. Very over priced. Very unprofessional. PLENTY of other veterinarians in the area.

Took my puppy here for his 2nd round of shots, all I confirmed for them to do is the 2nd round of shots & to trim his nails. I had to sit in car because of covid... they came out and told me my bill was $249!!!!! I didn’t question it in that moment, paid. While I was driving home I called them for an itemized bill, when I looked at the bill, there were SO many things that I did not agree to that I was charged for. SO SO MAD. I will NEVER go back to this place. Not personable & didn’t confirm before providing the care.

I’m not sure how long I’ve been taking my dog here, 3-4 years I think. I had been taking her to a more “corporate” vets office, and felt my dog was being misdiagnosed... I started going to Animal Clinic of Oceanway as a second opinion, and never left. I have always had a great experience. They are good at getting you an appointment within a few days and actually LISTEN to you when you talk about your pet. The want to make sure you understand treatment plans and are genuinely concerned about your pet.

The folks here are super nice! Called in yesterday because my Kitty Cloud had some GI upset. Within no time, Megan listened to my concerns and spoke to the Doc who provided a treatment based off of the presenting symptoms. We are established patients with recent visits on file so that could be helpful when an issue arises and your fur baby needs quick attention. Also, the clinic had the treatment on site so I was able to pick it up same day to get my Cloud back to normal. I recommend!

You can tell from the moment you walk into this place that every staff member genuinely cares about animals. Never pushy, or rude. Always so friendly, informative, and welcoming. It’s an absolute pleasure coming here! I’ve been to other places in the area and felt totally patronized, leaving with a knot in my stomach, and a lot less $$$ in my bank account. Never here!! I’m happy each and every time I leave here. Dr. Herppich is an absolute PLEASURE, you can tell she loves what she does.

I had an emergency with my pup on a Friday after lunch time and we are from out of town. These folks were phenomenal. They allowed me to drop her off and they worked her in and gave her the most amazing care. They even emailed me the care plan, cost and then called me to discuss it before moving forward. By the time I drove back over there she was good to go. The vet; as busy as she was made time to come in and go over everything before we left and set up a recheck appointment .

So glad we found this place! Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and will put your fur baby at ease. I like how they explain things thoroughly and address any concerns you may have about your animals health. My dog was having bad allergy issues which affected his quality of life but now thanks to the Cytopoint injections he recieves here, he's the happiest, healthiest boy! The Animal Hospital of Oceanway is simply the best of the best, with reasonable prices as well.

I needed to take both of my dogs to the vet to get them on tick and flea treatment but I was in a tough financial spot and could not afford it. I've been to 4 other vets around Jacksonville and all were pretty expensive and sometimes difficult to get into. I tried this location for the 1st time and I was able to get an appointment within just a few days the staff was so friendly and the price was very reasonable and affordable. I would highly recommend this location

More stressful than finding myself a physician when I relocated to Jacksonville, was finding someone to care for my pets! I'll admit I'm very critical of the care my pets receive. After the first visit, I knew we were blessed to have found the great staff @ Animal Clinic of Oceanway!!! Everyone has been wonderful and given my pets the BEST care! I highly recommend this extraordinary group to anyone looking for medical care for your four legged family members!

Could not be happier with choosing to bring our animals to this vet’s office. We recently moved down this way from Atlanta and were worried about finding a new vet, but we love this place and the wonderful people in it. The staff is so nice, incredibly knowledgeable, willing to answer all sorts of questions, and Dr. Jedlicka is amazing - her love for animals really shows. Hopefully we will be able to bring our fur babies here for many many years to come.

Absolutely the friendliest staff and the doctor did not once try to play on our emotions and try to sell us on unnecessary test. He was right to the point of the issue and explained everything very well. Their facility is very clean and there was no wait time at all. The only reason that I give it 5 stars is because there is no option for a 100 stars. They definitely inherited the other three fur babies as future patients. You guys absolutely Rock.

I could rave about everyone here!!! My sweet Earl was in here for a urinary block and they took immediate action & helped him get better. I am very thankful they were able to take him in on short notice. I appreciate how caring, gentle, and dedicated the staff is. They kept me informed of his progress every step of the way. The staff and vet are very friendly and I trust them! I’m not planning on living on this side of town much linger but I will definitely bring my dog back to them! They also call to check up on your pet the day after. This is really important to me because the last 2 times I was in there, my dog was very stressed out because they had to clip his nails and get a test done. They called me the next day to check up on him! ❤️ So nice

I was visiting in town, and I had a little emergency with my toy poodle. After no luck calling a several places, Oceanway made us appointment in just a couple of hours. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptionall - friendly staff, very quick check-in and Dr. Melissa Jedlika is so nice, caring, and knowledgeable. For the quality of the cervice the price was very reasonable. I strongly recommend this place!

They have done a awesome job with all of my pets. Especially my 2 dogs Diamond and Ruby. My older female Diamond had to have emergency surgery to be fixed while on her heat cycle. The surgery went great and they were able to work her in on a short notice. There price was cheaper than 6 other vets I spoke with. All of their staff are awesome and since the new doctors have come in it has been really great.

2 shots charged me $150. Normandy did the same thing for for only $12 a shot, so yaaa. I should of know since they refused to give me a price over the phone. Saint Francis does 5 for $80 or so. fort Caroline is also overpriced like oceanway. Gateway animal clinic on Norwood has the best prices, no wait, best care! Dr. Roy is the best Vet in Jacksonville FL !!! Don't waste your time with Ocean way!!!!

This place has changed hands a couple times. I have no confidence in the newest vet. In my opinion she is very incompetent. Today I called them because I was having an emergency with my dog Hank. The vet just didn’t care about Hank and refused to see him and I was told to find another vet. So I did and I found one who saw him and took care of him. Hank will never go here again.

Truly a wonderful experience! My vet wasn’t able to see me what I felt was a serious situation but, I called and the receptionist insisted I come that day. The doctor gave excellent advice for our ongoing treatment and even referred us to an awesome specialist. Every staff member was professional and personable! We are so glad we took the chance and called them!

Brought my 5 month old puppy here today for her first grooming experience. From the set up of the appointment over the phone to drop off and pick up they were fantastic! They listened to me about my puppy and concerns (more than once - LOL). Christie the groomer was SO sweet and did a fantastic job with our lil fur-baby. Will definitely continuing going here!

Huuuuuuge thanks to the vet techs at this location for assisting us with our dog that has diabetes. They were extremely reassuring as we struggled giving our dog shots and showing us techniques on how to administer insulin. Things are going much better now that they have showed us a few "tricks of the trade." Good caring people that we can't thank enough!

Animal Clinic of Oceanway is a wonderful place to take your pet. The doctor is very knowledgeable and the whole staff is friendly and caring. They helped us take care of our precious cat Ginger who we had for 19 and a half years and the last three and a half years of her life she had kidney disease. So they really helped us a lot to extend her life some.

I called them and I spoke to a lady named Claire about setting up an appointment for my cat she needs eye surgery and Claire was amazing she was exceedingly nice and professional she was able to answer all of my questions and I feel like my cats will be well taken care of in their hands exceedingly nice and professional I would recommend! I love this vet. They are always so helpful and kind. My pup actually loves going here! I just have to add, this place is truly the best. They are always so accommodating last minute when I’m worried about my pup. They also love him and take the best care of him. I recommend them to everyone I meet. I cannot sing their praises enough!

Took my cat here because she was having constant battles with constipation for years. I was at my wits end with all the tests and spending hundreds of dollars. I took her here and amazingly I was given the most cheapest remedy that can be found in the local dollar store. In addition I was given clean cut advice.

Good service, very thorough in explaining what our puppy needed to stay healthy. We were able to purchase Heartgard for heartworm prevention & Nexgard for flea & tick prevention. Very pleased, we will continue using Oceanway Animal Hospital for our new puppy's veterinarian. …

I had to take my cat Midnight to the vet. That the best Animal Clinic in Jacksonville. They took his blood yesterday and the Doctor called me this morning and gave me the good news. Thank you Oceanway Clinic for being soooo compassionate. Also the staff is very very friendly. Love that clinic

We have been taking our dog Simon to see David Mersereau because Simon loves him. The team there treats the beasts we bring in as if they were their pets. Lots of great interaction. The medical advice and explanation are sound and solve the problem...every time. Will keep going.

When called.. I specifically said... "I'm looking for a vet that gives depo shots for dog allergies" They said they do. But at the appointment yesterday, the vet said he does not. If I would have been told the truth, I would have kept looking around for a vet that does.

Horrible, they over charged on everything. They charged me for things I didn't ask them to do. And he told me everything I already know. Everything he charged me for was triple the price I could have gotten at PetSmart. I do not recommend this place to anyone!

Everyone from the receptionist to the technicians to the veterinarians, they are all very professional, courteous and very thorough with my baby. I have been bringing my Yorkie there for 5 years and he has had nothing but the best care possible. Love them

our vet left and we only found out when a vet ee have never seen before came into our exam room. we were very disappointed as we had one particular vet that knew our pets history. really did not like the lack of communication on their end.

I brought in a ferrel cat that was just about hone and they treated him really special and gave him what he needed to bounce back! 3 weeks later I'm so thankful I didn't have to make " the call" for this sweet kitty. Thanks to all of you!

When my fur baby became sick with fever, the staff worked with us on an affordable treatment plan and my fur baby recovered. Popeye is very healthy and happy! Such an amazing and caring staff.

Amended review, this vet has no follow up on a sick pup that was in their care. And the new vet has difficulty with English. Pet owner beware.

Helped in an emergency (paperwork required to fly three dogs) on short notice, but changed an unreasonable fee for a very simple health check.

Got Bubba up to date on his shots.The vet and techs really know what they are doing. BUBBA even liked them but he loves everyone.. LOL
