I visited this salon about 5 days ago coming in for chestnut brown hair from Steven. I came out of the salon with yellow toned-ombré hair. Not to mention I have a chemical burn on my scalp from bleach and cannot get a brush through my hair with any ease whatsoever, these conjoined with the fact that it takes 4+ hours for my hair to completely air dry lead me to making this review. Never in my life have a ever written a bad review anywhere. I usually just go with it, but the pure negligence and rude attitudes of the employees have pushed that idea straight of the window... I made a call today inquiring about a refund, I even offered to pay for the products that were used on my hair and get (at least) half of my money back. Neither of these things were seen as possible but instead I got condescended to by Amy (one of the OWNERS of this salon) telling me “that’s just what happens when you apply bleach to box colored hair.” I tried to stay calm and collected in the beginning of this phone call but soon realized I wouldn’t get anywhere trying to level. After getting so frustrated and her telling me “I don’t understand why you are being rude with me” this talk finally came to an end. I was not planning on making a review whatsoever to begin with thinking they would be okay with leveling. I do not ever wish to return to this salon after this experience. A lot of money and time wasted on all of this. My boyfriend has been a client here for a couple months and we both will no longer be coming back due to this traumatic experience. I’m writing this more-so because I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. Absolutely disappointed and upset.

Let see, where do I start... First of all I wish I could give 0 stars, let me explain. Found out about the salon at a Bridal Show in Kansas City as I was looking for someone to do my bridal hair/makeup as well as my 5 bridesmaids. Was invited to do a trial run later that month. Trial went well, Amy(shop owner) and her staff seem pleasant and did a decent job on my hair and makeup... I was satisfied and booked with them for my wedding day. That's where the good ends. Week and a half before the wedding I found out that makeup artist i did trial with quit (note that I was never notified by Amy about the situation. I found out because person who quit was nice enough to message me about it) I had to contact Amy myself. She scheduled me another trial run with a different makeup artist who doesn't work at the shop. Seems sketchy, but I still went for it. Long story short, the morning of my wedding, makeup artist did not show up and Amy didn't even bother to call and find out why she wasn't there. (my guess is because Amy just LIED to me about having a makeup artist). Amy ended up doing my makeup herself which turned out AWFUL. A bride with BAD makeup and BAD hair is not good. At all. Bridesmaids were very unhappy as well. I wanted to get out of there so bad, I didn't even notice that she OVERCHARGED!! me. I will make it clear, do not go there. I will also make sure to post this review everywhere, including bridal websites, blogs, facebook. No one should be treated like that the day of their wedding, and no one should own a shop that is just pure SCAM.

I had tried 3 times to get a haircut here. A close friend who goes here knows Sara storm a owner and really wanted me to try so much that he paid for my haircut. I set an appointment for October 16th a week before going on vacation. She took my phone number and her computer sent me FIVE text messages including one the day before to MAKE SURE I WOULD BE THERE AND NOT WASTE HER TIME.. I drove from Lawrence Kansas a hour drive and arrived 15 minutes early and came in and sat down. both employees looked at me oddly and said can we help you? do you have appointment? I said yes for 2 pm with stormy. I was told oh she is not here today and wont be in today. I called my friend who then called her personal cell phone and left a message. She never attempted to get a hold of me to apologize for wasting my time and from what he told me she never contacted him. This is VERY unprofessional. As this was the third bad experience here I chose to leave a review. I will NEVER go back not even for a free haircut... WHY? because she is willing to no show and not even attempt to cancel even though her computer will hound you to make sure you show up so as to NOT waste her precious time. Premier Salon? Most definitely NOT

I have debated in my head over and over whether or not to leave a review because I am not someone who likes to complain. In the end, I would hope this either reaches someone that can improve the salon or to deter someone from having the same bad experience I had. It was the worst salon experience I have ever had. My friend and I were in town for a concert and decided to try and treat ourselves to blowouts. Granted we were walk-ins, I still would not expect such terrible service. Our stylist was rude and seemed rushed. As I was having my hair washed, he missed a section of hair by my neck and was so violent I ended up with a bruise on the back of my head from the wash basin. As he blow dried my hair, I could smell my hair burning and ended up with flat hair that was frizzy and broken. And both me and my friend noticed that he kept hitting us in the head with the dryer, sure accidents happen, but he would never apologize. I was under the impression that blowouts were done with a product that helps add volume and style. I got neither. I would not recommend Steven as he obviously needs more training or a different occupation all together.

I highly recommend Amy Crouch (of Antidote Salon) for wedding-day hair and makeup needs. Amy offers a variety of hair and makeup package options, and was also willing to customize her menu of services to meet our needs (1 bridal updo, 5 bridesmaids updos, 3 short hair styles). I’m so glad we decided to have her come onsite, as this made for a very laid back and low key time getting ready. While I did have some sample styles in mind, I wasn’t really sure what I wanted and Amy did a great job helping to translate my big-picture ideas into an actual updo. My final hair turned out a bit different from my trial, but both were beautiful and on the whole we were all satisfied with Amy’s work, as well as her candor. I opted to do my own makeup, but had Amy assist me with applying false lashes, which was a great decision. I felt confident that everything would stay in place even in the wind and heat and love the way our photos turned out. First, I did not get an estimate before we started, money was never discussed until the end. I explained thoroughly my expectations and Amy knew exactly what I wanted. It was an intensive process that took 3.5 hrs, I got highlights and color, but it ended in not getting the color I wanted. I refused to pay until we get it fixed, as it is always the case in any other hair salon. Anyways, Amy offered to fix it right away but I wasn't able to stay at the time being, so I wanted to schedule it the next day where I would pay for the full service. They completely refused, and called the POLICE on me, accusing me of stealing! The Officer let me go, with the fact I owe $150. Long story short, I slept on it thought it's not worth all of this fuss, so I would go and just pay without getting it fixed and end things on a better note. Amy basically bullied me into paying an extra $25 for the reason that "I don't deserve to be nice to!" At the end, I paid reluctantly. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I was so excited to use this salon for my wedding. But at some point there was a mix up with my trial hair and makeup date. They were closed on the date that I believed that we booked. I freaked out a little bit and was not to happy but eventually got a hold of the salon owner and she explained how the shop was closed and she even offered to open up the salon that day later on to fix the issue. I said that was okay I'll call and rebook some other time. I called today and I started the phone call off with explaining who I was and how there was a issue with my previous booking. The salon stated they were not comfortable working with me because of the issues and were very angry they even hung up. Now I have to find someone else last minute to do my entire bridal party's hair and make up. All of this over a miscommunication on both parts. At first it was handled professionally and than I dont know what happened

I tried booking an appointment with Cassie for a bridal trial for hair and makeup, and it got pushed back 2 separate times. I was trying to get an estimate for travel fees, and then AFTER my trial added an extra $100 to my estimate. My hair is tricky to work with but all the curls flatten within 2 hours. But the worst of it all was the makeup! It was horrible! I could see all the imperfections of my skin (a couple small blemishes and redness of my cheeks), she did not touch my eyebrows, the eye makeup was not blended and straight glitter (it just looked tacky and not a Smokey romantic look), no contour was added until after requested, even after I requested it she barely put any on, she missed whole sections of my lip when applying lipstick, and then she applied fake lashes where they were all in my eyes and glue all in my eye as well! Overall unprofessional and a waste of time and money!

I absolutely LOVE my wonderful hair stylist Cassie! She is so knowledgeable and helpful and always knows how to bring my ideas, that I don't quite know how to articulate sometimes, into reality! She is a great listener and has helped me grow out my hair from shoulder length (after my hair was bleached to crisps by another stylist) to waist length. She also saved my little 4-year-old niece's hair who has tight curls after she decided to cut it... it looked so bad guys!! She cut most of her hair from the front of her head ‍♀️‍♀️ Cassie fixed it into a beautiful little fro and taught us how to style it with bringing some of her locks forward so it would look more even. Cassie has also helped me with my fiancé's hair that is very curly as well. I cannot recommend her enough!

Steven is so incredible!! I have been going to him for almost almost 3 years now and I will never go to another stylist ever again. I have somewhat unruly hair never had anyone be able to cut my layers so they don’t turn out chunky other than Steven. I have thrown a lot of color curve balls his way from dark red/burgundy, icy blonde, even magenta roots and he always makes me look like and movie star. He has also helped me pick hairstyles at many different lengths that frame my face well and I always get so many compliments! My husband and brother both go to him now too and love him!! This salon is so fun and always has a great vibe. All the stylists are so amazing. Come get your hair done by Steven at Tease Salon and you will always leave looking incredible!!

I can not say enough good things about this place. Amy the owner transformed me into the most beautiful bride ever! As weddings go I had one thing after another go wrong, she made me feel so comfortable and at ease amongst the chaos. I was kind of a mess until I sat in the chair and had her start working. I have never looked more beautiful in my life! As a bride you get compliments, but these were different. You could see the shock at how well it turned out. She brought with her another girl to help with makeup who also did an excellent job. Everyone was happy and felt more beautiful then ever! I highly recommend Antidote Salon for your every day care or most Importantly your wedding Day! Price is a steal for the professionalism and quality you get.

I cannot say enough great things about this salon! Walking in was breathtaking. The atmosphere & the stylists are one in a million. I followed my good friend/stylist, Amber, alllll the way from Wichita & I was not disappointed. The salon is wonderful, but Amber, just puts the cherry on top! She always knows what I need before I even tell her. She listens to what I want, and will tell me what we can do to get there. She’s knowledgeable about what it will take to completely transform your hair. I have been going to her for my hair needs for 5 years and I refuse to go to anyone else! This salon sure gained a great stylist! I won’t drive 3 1/2 hours for just anyone!!

I came in asking for highlights (to get me more blonde). I am on the road to going blonde and understood highlights were my best option to do so. My stylists looked at my hair and said she’s “very confident” that she can make be blonde and not ruin my hair by doing bleach all over. After talking about it I agreed. I know nothing about hair (obviously) so I trusted my stylist. While getting my hair washed I hear her say “oh no”.. Not what you want to hear. The bleach did not lift in some parts. It had to be toned twice and I left with I few different shades in my hair. My hair is fried and so dry.

Love this place! I have been more than happy with my color and cut each time I have been in. I have super thick hair that can be hard to manage. I started coming here a year ago, and this will be my salon until I move out of state. Sara Storm is attentive, and Gives honest opinions on the ideas I come in with (some doable, some not so much, and some that just wouldn’t work with my hair type). I love that I can make an appointment online, and the frequency of the reminders are really great as well. The staff is super friendly, and I love the atmosphere of the space.

Cass was amazing! I have been a platinum blonde since I was in high school. I’m 32 now. Lately I’ve had some unfortunate hair encounters and while still blonde I had a line of yellow from my latest blonding. Not only did Cass lift me easily and beautiful she was able to get rid of my yellow line that I had been battling for months. She took me more silver than I have ever been and promised that once I washed it it would be the exact tone I wanted. One wash later and it’s perfect, what I’ve been trying to get for years. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Avoid booking here if you don't already have a relationship with the salon. I made an appointment for a style as I was in KC for an out of town wedding. I made my appointment 2 weeks in advance, received my confirmation texts, and showed up 5 minutes early. Amy, my stylist, didn't show. I waited for 35 minutes before leaving. I wasted $25 in Lyft rides for no hairstyle. While the other stylists tried to get ahold of Amy, the only thing they could suggest was to try the salon down the street once they knew she wouldn't be in. Try another salon.

***QUEENS OF WESTPORT*** This place is getting one star because the only star here is James…who had to come to my rescue because the original mannequin hair cutter who was working on my hair did such an awe full job. I would only visit this salon for james. She didn’t know how to blend, nor understand how to use thinning shears. I’m so upset I can’t even remember her name but I hope no one ever has the misfortune of learning it because she should never cut a gay mans hair during PRIDE MONTH! Sincerely, A disappointed twunk.

I have been going to cassie B for a while now my first ever pro stylist and i love her and her skills ! I have super long hair and ive had 4 balayage already and no damage at all but this salon recently did my daughters 15th birthday hair and makeup and when i say ive never seen her so happy like that day! She said everyone in the salon was so happy and everyone was complimenting her and showing her how to do her hair and makeup along with the service. I highly recomend this place it has all the skills and vibes.

Amber is an amazing stylist! She completely transformed my hair and made me feel beautiful. She took the time to ensure my hair turned out the way I wanted it to. When I went back a second time, she made my color vivid again with a simple toner. I appreciate that she sits and talks with me while my color is processing and makes me feel important. She is also honest about ways to strengthen my hair. The salon is very welcoming and has an awesome vibe. I will continue to go to Amber for all my hair needs!

I've had nothing but great experiences at Antidote! Cassie is amazing and an expert at fun colors. I have brunette naturally curly hair and wanted to go pink with a balayage. She took the time and patience to walk me through the process and make recommendations for me based on my hair type to get the healthiest and most beautiful end result. Totally trust her expertise and will always go back for touchups. Plus the vibe in the salon is always so upbeat and welcoming! <3

I have been to this salon about three times now and I feel like I've found my forever stylist with Cass. She is amazing, she understands what I'm saying and wanting even if I don't quite understand lol. She talks you thigh the process and is willing to do whatever to make you feel confident. Even if that means texting her on a Sunday asking if you did ok on a technique she showed you on the nest visit. I completely recommend booking an appointment with her!!!

I have been going to stylist Cass Bullion for almost 5 years and counting. I have very long hair and she knows exactly how to cut it and style it. She has never cut too much off and always asks before she does anything. I never colored my hair because I thought it would get damaged but that isn’t the case with her. My hair is healthier than ever despite me coloring roots and doing balayage. As long as Cass is in town, she’s the only one I trust with my hair!

Amy has cut my hair for almost two years. I have always loved the ease of styling my hair in the morning due to the superior cut that Amy provided. Today, I asked her to mix it up and try something different...I could not be more happy with the expertise. I usually wait three days to decide whether I like a haircut, but today I'm making an exception. Thank you Amy! I highly recommend Amy for Men's haircuts.

I came in with a image in my head of what i was wanting. Amber hit that image on point she made the whole experience so welcoming and so peaceful. Had a really bad experience at a different salon 3 years ago and it scared me enough to not get my hair professionally but i gave in cause the pictures of her work was amazing. Courtney at Antidote Salon did an AMAZING job. I had 12 inches cut off of my hair and had warm toned highlights put in and it turned out fantastic. I’m so so glad I had the manager Elle contact me to have my hair done. Courtney communicated and asked questions to have a clearer idea of the cut i wanted. She was super friendly and enjoyable to talk to. I’ve never felt more happier leaving a salon :)

Antidote is a marvelous little independent salon. It's centrally located, clean, tidy. James is amazing. He's more than talented - he's an artist. I felt so confident and beautiful walking out of the salon - and I still do weeks later. James also is an exceptional people person. He made me feel at ease from the moment he greeted me. He's genuine and warm. I can't say enough good things about him!

I had an appointment w/Haley , my first facial ever she was absolutely awesome. I learned so much about my skin, she walked me through everything. She explained the processes and educated me about skin care & health, very professional. My skin feels & looks so different, I have a skin regime that I will follow now so I can reach my skin goals. I can not wait to see her again in 2 weeks !!

courtney is excellent, creative, and attentive! i have always been content when i get my hair done. they are a great listener when it comes to paying attention detail, and a warm person to talk to overall! i’ve been their regular for almost a year and always satisfied with the results. i really enjoy coming to this spot. it’s comfortable and in the middle of everything in westport!

I love Amy and the way she just “gets” hair. She does such a good job with my color. It’s been hard finding a good hair stylist since moving here a year ago from NYC but I’m so glad I found her. Plus they have really good products at their salon. Their Unite shampoo cures my scalp like a charm. Plus everyone there is so friendly. Not like the typical in-and-out salon. :))

I love the vibe of this salon. They are very professional and offer a relaxing atmosphere. I dropped in while in town visiting family. Amber is amazing! Each hair stylist does a great job in giving you what you want at a great price. Very relaxed environment with complimentary beverages (even beer) while you get your haircut. I was in Kansas City for vacation recently and was in the mood to get a nice haircut. A friend of mine recommended the services of Jerrin Hawes. I got in the next day and he gave me the best fade!! I got to even sip on some sangria while I was there too. Highly suggest seeing Jerrin for fresh and stylish mens cuts!!

KK is amazing!! I was struggling to find a good salon and stylist in Kansas City and I’m glad to have found one. KK brought my hair back to being natural, healthy and shiny. Probably the worth experience I’ve had personally . The girl had an attitude huffin and puffin the whole time she did my hair . I paid for a perm left with my hair not curly at all was asked to wait 2 days then come back after I washed it . They offered no help or even to fix the perm they clearly didn’t even do .

Ana gave me a beautiful balayage, a trim and some long layers! She styled my hair in curls. Ana was very sweet, and made me feel comfortable the whole time! 100% recommend her. Steven is my stylist and he us AWESOME and unbelievable at cuts, COLOR...WELL EVERYTHING! The whole salon is FABULOUS and all t hy e stylists are TOP NOTCH! Reasonable prices and in the heart of Westport! I drive into the city from South, if that speaks ANYTHING as to the quality !

It is a comfortable salon, not like the others you're afraid to speak loudly or touch anything. All the stylest have they own style and are amazing. Sarah Riker is mine and she always goes above and beyond of my request and I love the outcome more then what I asked her to do!

I am pleased with the excellent service and knowledge Kate provided. She is friendly, listened to my hair concerns and needs and did a great job coloring and cutting my hair. I love my hair and will definitely return to this salon again and have Kate color and cut my hair.

Amy did an amazing job on both my special occasion hair and makeup. She worked quickly, asked me a lot of questions, and used my responses to design the perfect hair and makeup for me. I highly recommend using Amy to make your special day extra special.

Stace did such a wonderful job taking care of me! After so many years of using box dye and heat, my hair was so fried on the ends and Stace was able to bring my hair some life back. I really appreciate her taking care of me. I will be back.

I worked with Courtney, she help even out my grown out mullet and taught me how to take care of my bleached hair. She wasn’t pushy about coming back in to do my hair and recommended the right products to use to light my hair.

Got a great color job but my cut was a disaster. Amber was not skilled to do the cut I needed but proceeded anyway. It was too late when I realized it was getting progressively worse.
