I made an appointment maybe 2 or 3 months in advance only to have been canceled on last minute. The reason being that my stylist had a family emergency related to Covid. That is completely understandable. I rescheduled a few months out again. Again, I was very empathetic and sorry for her circumstances. By the time my appointment finally came around, my family and I experienced exact same thing. A death in the family due to covid the day of my appointment. I missed it and they charged me $65. I asked if they’d consider a refund because of the history and similar experience having been cancelled on (and ignored to reschedule my appointments via their text service). They never answered my request. These are tough times for everyone, I get that. But I was hoping for compassion and understanding to be reciprocated. Super disappointed in this business. This told me enough about them to never schedule again. A few family members and friends that are current clients will also stop going there too. Word of mouth is a powerful thing, guys.

Absolutely LOVE this place! I've been going to this salon for a few years now and it never disappoints. My stylist is Sam Hayes and she's so knowledgeable and super talented. I love changing up my hair so I've had experience with a lot of services here (short haircuts, long haircuts, bangs, hair treatments, and hair color services including balayage, red, and black). Sam has delivered on all of my services every time! She has also gone above and beyond to be available for all my questions pre and post my appointments on Instagram. The salon is super cute and everyone is so friendly. I'm super busy at work and it's so convenient to hop on Vagaro and schedule an appointment or call the salon for help. The salon itself and multiple stylists have been nominated for and/or won Best of KC. That alone speaks to the quality of this place! If I could give 10 stars I would!! Amazing stylists, cute place, great customer service, convenient booking - Highly recommend!

Awful customer service, Very disappointing. I had been going here for years and liked it, but I had a really bad experience recently. I had my hair highlighted, it didn’t turn out, and I had to have it re-done. My work schedule was crazy, so I had to reschedule for a few weeks out. When I came in for my appointment, I was informed, for the FIRST time, that re-dos had to be done within two weeks. As I was outside of this two week mark, I had to pay extra for an “application fee.” They said they tried to call me but had my wrong contact information, and I never received their call. Even though the salon said the error wasn’t my fault, they still made me pay the extra fee, since they didn’t think it was fair for them to not get paid for the hours they were working to correct THEIR OWN mistake. I’m disgusted by their lack of customer service and will take my business to a different salon that truly values its clients.

I went to this salon for the first time to get highlights to touch up my roots (I was a bright blonde) and they turned my hair light brown. They refused to acknowledge the mistake (told me to wash my hair a couple of times and it would be lighter as the toner washed out or try purple shampoo) and offered free shampoo to make up for the issue. They then called later in the afternoon and offered more highlights but this was after they had told me there was nothing they could do it make it the blonde it originally was. After already having them try to fix it once, I do not think that they had the knowledge or skill to return my hair to its original blonde. They also at one point responded to me expressing that this was not the hair color I asked for by saying "well it looks really pretty on you", implying that their mistake was a good thing. I would never recommend this salon to anyone who is a blonde.

Having moved to KC from Houston a year ago, i was so pleasantly surprised to find my wonderful hairdresser/colorist Destiny after a ton of research. My hair can be difficult to cut/style because it is fine, naturally curly and frizzy, and prone to damage...basically a big pain; it needs to look great whether i wear it curly or straight. It has ALWAYS been a challenge to find a hairdresser that can accomplish this, and Destiny blows it away. She listens to my hair issues and answers my coloring questions. The end product is always fantastic. I now tell her “do whatever you think will look great, i completely trust you”, which i think is a true sign of a quality hair stylist and an enormous compliment to her skills. To top it off, Destiny has such a beautiful spirit and personality.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! I was in town for work and was in desperate need of a haircut. I have a very short blunt cut and this was the fist place that came up when searching for a salon. I was ecstatic to see they are a Kevin Murphy salon and carry their products. If you haven't tried them, you're missing out!! I ended up with a last minute appointment on a Wednesday afternoon at 2pm with Emily. The rest of the stylists were booked solid, which was also a very positive sign. The salon is full of energy, bright and clean. Trendy but not pretentious. Emily could not have done a better job on my cut, it is not an easy thing to do if you are not familiar with it. Come see these ladies as they are more than capable of taking care of your hair needs!!

They asked to reschedule my haircut appointment to be 30 minutes earlier than originally booked, and I agreed. I arrived inside the salon a couple of minutes early, but no one checked me in or greeted me until about 10 minutes after the new appointment time. While cutting and styling, Rachel hit my head multiple times, once with a heated curler. She apologized each time and took the time to explain the steps she was taking during the haircut, which I appreciated. The haircut I received didn't match my requested style, but since the salon was about to close in 10 minutes, I decided to leave as it was. It led to some comments from friends who thought I had attempted to cut my own hair and botched it. Was not worth $60 and the 2 hours of my time. Would not recommend.

I was thrilled to find HAIR after moving to KC from out of state. Jaime is incredible at what she does! A true professional! She takes her time to fully listen to what I am looking for and is honest about what it will take to get my hair there. For example, I sent her a picture of what I wanted and she asked for a 2 year color history on my hair so she would know exactly how my hair would take the color. She communicates clearly so there are no surprises. I appreciate that sort of attention to detail. And my hair has never looked better or healthier! All my interactions with their staff have been amazing as well. I have always been treated respectfully and professionally and they have always gotten me in on time. HIGHLY highly recommend!

I wish It was possible to leave 0 stars. The service provided was not what was asked for. When i called to talk about a refund I was insulted and told my hair look horrible to begin with, then the manager said they don’t do refunds. The manager was blatantly disrespectful and laughed at me during the entire conversation. When I explained Why I was upset, the manager kept interrupting me telling me there’s nothing she could do, I politely Asked her to stop cutting me off mid sentence and she was nothing but rude and then HUNG UP on me. I was NOT mad at the stylist herself other than the fact that my service was not what I asked For. The manager was the completely rude and this place does not deserve anyone’s service.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. DONT RECOMMEND. I booked an appointment a month in advance with Destiny and drove an hour and a half the day of my appointment just for them to tell me that there was no appointment under my name. They proceeded to tell me that I had a profile, but no appointment. I had never been to this salon, so for me to have a profile would make no sense unless I had an appointment. When I stated that it must have been a mess up on their part. They told me it was my fault for not calling to confirm and was a “miscommunication”. The least they could’ve done is own up to their mistake. Wouldn’t wish it upon anyone and I will not be rescheduling.

Where do I even start? The salon is adorable and the staff is all so sweet! I had been through at least 3 different stylist when I moved to KC and never was happy. Enter Jaime and her amazing talent and I was finally so happy with my hair again! Not only did I start getting compliments from random strangers, but my hair was actually healthy being super blonde for once in my life. Jaime is amazing, but honestly after looking at all the girls' instagram pages I can tell they're all extremely talented. If you're sick of daydreaming on Pinterest about how you wish your hair looked then this is so the place for you!

After my regular stylist butchered my hair (one side was an inch and a half longer than the other and the layers were just shattered on one side), I need someone to correct the mistakes. Tana was so quick to respond to my inquiry and get an appointment scheduled with the stylist that could best remedy the problem. I worked with Krista and she was amazing. She corrected the problem and gave me a fresh and adorable cut. My hair is very thick and she made it light and easy to style. She also gave very helpful tips for wearing my hair with its natural wave. Absolutely recommend this salon and Krista!

Update: Though the cuts I got here were great, their color services are pretty limited. That's fine I can go somewhere else for that. I won't be coming here anymore since I've had appointments canceled on me at the last minute multiple times. This last time was 30 mins before my appointment. I understand things coming up but it's happened too many times at this point. I almost always tip over the expected amount, so I'm not really sure what their problem is there. Never disappointed with my cut here. I am growing out my hair and Krystal is great with the transitional cuts.

I absolutely love this place!! My girl, Jaime, is a hair guru and has styled my hair many times... from extensions to working with my naturally thin hair giving it the much needed bounce that I am looking for... I moved to KC a few years ago and was so excited to find a home salon... the atmosphere is relaxing and I always look forward to seeing the girls at this salon... they take the time to check in with me and see what’s been going on since my last appointment... Jaime works her magic every single time and really listens to her clients wants/needs... I highly recommend

After two terrible haircuts in the last year and a half, I was scared to try a new salon...but I also really needed a haircut...so I decided to try Hair Salon in Westport. I am so glad I went! I had Hannah as my stylist and she did a great job cutting my hair and styling it so nicely. Even though I didn't get a fancy cut, I am so incredibly pleased with the result. Hannah was very personable and friendly. The salon itself is large and spacious, with big bright windows. I will absolutely be returning to this salon (although I'm sad that Hannah will be moving in August)!

Needed a new salon since I was new to the area. I called and they scheduled me at the exact time I requested, which was only 45 minutes after the call. I was booked with Jaime. She did a freakin awesome job. Im not the girly kinda girl and she did perfect with figuring out what I needed in a cut. She was very knowledgeable and worked out a game plan with me before we even started. Also, she's very down to earth and doesn't bombard you with small talk. She's personable but let's you enjoy the salon experience and pays attention to what she's doing. Found my new spot!

She also gave me a provided me an itemized total for the visit prior to proceeding with services. She provided a quality custom cut & partial highlight! Throughout the service she gave me helpful education. She was detailed oriented and efficient. I could tell she genuinely wanted to ensure I had a great experience. and I did!

I am very picky about my hair, and I don't like to be pressured into "current hairstyles" or expensive treatments. I always feel welcome at Hair and never feel pressured to buy extra products or treatments. I have had blow-outs done by a few different hairdressers and loved them all. My favorite hairdresser is Jaime Kittinger. She has been cutting & coloring my hair for 4 years now & always does an AMAZING job. She makes my blonde look so natural most have no idea I get highlights. I highly recommend Jaime and Hair!

Haley was my stylist and she is TRULY a hair goddess. I showed her a picture of the color and cut I wanted, and she was able to recreate it EXACTLY on my head! Aside from being incredibly gifted in her craft, Haley is able to cultivate a space of peace and openness throughout the salon. She is easy-going, confident, curious, and relaxing. Her energy is radiant through her subtle calmness, allowing every client to fully enjoy themselves while in her chair. 10/10 recommend HAIR but 20/10 recommend seeing Haley.

This is the first salon I’ve gone to on a semi-regular basis and it’s because I love the atmosphere. Everything is clean, the girls are friendly, and I always feel rejuvenated after. Krista has been taking care of my hair for years now, from growing my teenage pixie cut, to coloring my long hair pink this past summer, to bringing it back to brown for the winter. My hair always looks and FEELS amazing after, and I would trust her with any color or cut, any time!! 100% recommend both the stylist and the salon.

I have tried achieving platinum blonde hair for 5 years and Krista was the first stylist to finally help me achieve that!! As a natural dirty blonde I should have been able to achieve this hair color in less than a year but every hair salon I went to they kept doing high lights which was not what I wanted. This hair salon actually listens to you and gives you exactly what you want! The environment is great and the quality of the products are the best. I love this salon!

I moved to KC 5 years ago and had a hard time finding a stylist, but then I met Jamie Lewis at Hair!! Jamie has been my stylist for 4 years now helping me change styles and colors always doing a stellar job. Lately, I gave her the challenge to shift my basic long, straight locks to a mullet. She nailed it! It was scary seeing all my hair drop to the floor, but the results had me leaving feeling like a new person. She’s great. The place is great.

I never leave reviews but from the moment I called the salon and explained my hair situation and she scheduled my haircut with Krista it was fantastic. Krista is a wonderful human and listened to my concerns and suggested a cut that would work for my hair texture and thickness, we were both on the same page. Moved to KC almost 3 yrs ago and found Destiny on instagram…what luck! She is incredibly talented and has worked so well with my easy to damage, frizzy, curly hair (i wear it straight). Her sweet, bubbly personality is the cherry on top. My hair looks and feels healthier and better than ever and i often receive compliments for the cut, coloring and style. Moved to Oregon but still return to have her work her magic. She’s amazing.

Had one haircut here so far. Danielle was my stylist and she is great. I definitely recommend her. I don't get my hair cut professionally very often so I'm not great at expressing (or sometimes even knowing) what I want, and she nailed it with an style that looks great and is easy to manage. Also, I love that she did not take a razor to my hair as this technique often results in split ends very quickly for me.

I absolutely adore this salon and the girls that work here. Some truly amazing ladies! Danielle recently placed hand tied hair extensions in and i LOVE them. I feel so much more confident with them. Not only do i have the length that i want but i have the fullness of them, too! A little bit to get used to, but i kept going back and forth on having extensions and I’m 100% so glad i got them!!! I recommend!!

Jaime has been coloring & styling my hair for the past couple of years now and she even styled my hair on my wedding day. I could not recommend her enough!! Emily is amazing! This is the best hair cut I’ve ever gotten, seriously. She was so good at giving me what I needed and adjusted along the way. I love the product she used and picked up a spray that works sooooo much better than my previous heat protectant—my style stays all day, through the rain, and I’m amazed. Thus place is so cozy and everyone is so friendly.

Hair is easily my favorite salon. The shop environment is lovely, relaxing, and everyone there is so friendly and welcoming. Jamie’s been cutting my hair for awhile now, and I always leave loving my haircut. The shop took COVID very seriously and did so much to make folks feel safe, and I really appreciated that too. Krista Kern is a hair genius. Every time I walk away from her chair I feel absolutely refreshed. Not just with great hair (though for real- she makes my Pinterest dreams come true) but also because it’s like visiting a friend. Can’t recommend HAIR enough!! After years of bleaching, my hair was beyond damaged. The first time I came in, I saw Jaime and she brought my hair back to life. This place is really nice. The woman at the front desk isn't that welcoming, but don't let that stop you. I got Brittany, and she did an amazing job! Shelby was able to give me a natural looking low maintenance blonde blend. The salon was so cute, everyone was welcoming, and my hair looks exactly how I wanted. I would highly recommend.

Great little spot on Pennsylvania ave in downtown Westport. Rachel was AMAZING for this girl with "cats belly hair" who sits down and says "im a blank slate"...and then lists all the caveats of dealing with said CBH. ‍♀️‍♀️ She nailed it and i will be back!

I saw Krista for the first time today and was blown away! I have really thick hair that is kind of unmanageable and she cut it to feel so lightweight, and gave me great tips for taking care of it. Also the salon is beautiful! This will be my regular spot and stylist.

I have been there about a dozen times over 5 years. Their master cutters are great but their junior cutters can't cut short hair well. They are far too over priced and you end up frustrated for weeks with the cut they gave you.
