Antone's Nightclub in Austin, Texas is a must-visit destination for live music lovers. The club has a rich history, having opened its doors in 1975 and becoming one of the most iconic venues in the city. Over the years, Antone's has hosted some of the biggest names in music, including Muddy Waters, B.B. King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. When visiting Antone's, you can expect to hear a wide range of music, including blues, rock, and jazz. The club features both local and national acts, and the calendar is always packed with exciting shows. The club's intimate setting makes for a great live music experience, as the stage is close to the audience and the sound quality is excellent. If you're looking to catch a show at Antone's, it's best to check the calendar on their website and purchase tickets in advance. The club is open Wednesday through Saturday, and you can purchase tickets online or at the door. Be aware that shows can sell out quickly, so it's a good idea to buy your tickets ahead of time to ensure you don't miss out. Overall, Antone's Nightclub is a must-visit destination for live music lovers visiting Austin. With its rich history, intimate setting, and wide range of music, it's the perfect place to experience the city's vibrant music scene.

A legendary music venue that has great lineups of blues and rock musicians from around the nation and globe, as well as local acts. I have been to the last three locations that have held the spirit of its founder, Clifford Antone. This location is not my favorite, but as of right now, we can’t go back in time. So this is the best we get. This place is doing yeomen’s work at keeping the Blues tradition alive and well in Austin, Texas. My favorite Antone’s location was when it was on Lavaca and Fifth (I believe) in Austin. The stage was in the middle of the venue and there was not a bad spot in the house. At this location the stage is at the back of the narrow rectangular space. This creates a bit of a claustrophobic air, that makes a fan feel like a sardine when there to see the more popular bands. The best time to be there is when the crowd size is a little lower, then you can really enjoy the music. The elongated rectangle layout also results in pretty poor sound quality at the entrance area and bar. Overall this is THE place in downtown Austin (north of river) to experience traditional live rock or blues music.

Overall we had a good time at Antone's on a Monday night however I would say there is no need for it to be that loud in volume! We had to purchase earplugs and I saw plenty of other people doing the same or holding their fingers/hands over their ears. There is no need for that level in that size of room. Soul Man Sam was great however unable to perform a full set, the replacements for him weren't quite the same quality of sound/voice so that was lacking. The service was ok, nothing particularly special or welcoming and there was a strange lady with red hair who came round asking for tips which we found a little awkward however this might be standard for Blue's Clubs in Austin. Overall for the price and quality of the house band this was a fun night, just needed to turn it down a little. The merchandise at the front was also quite nice and reasonably priced

This sure ain't the Antone's I know and love. This is the new Austin corporate version. Guy at the door with an attitude, having to pay tickets through ticketmaster on your phone, at a glorified dive bar. Poor sound with a weird low mid hum threatening to feedback throughout the show, can't hear the vocals clearly, turning up the guitar solo when it's almost finished... again, dive bar experience at a premium price. The bar tried to charge me for drinks I didn't order. If this was the first bad experience I've had I wouldn't bother with this, but after living and being a musician in Austin for 30 years, this version of Antone's is a cold shadow of it's former self and should be viewed as a tourist trap and a cautionary tale of everything that's gone downhill in this city... R.I.P.

Dropped by on a Monday night while visiting from Alberta, Canada. Soul Man Sam and the house band were great. The table set up is best described as strange with two clusters along each side wall and none in front so when the band looks straight out from the stage, it’s mostly empty. Maybe they get big crowds on weekends that mostly stand and are too lazy to move the tables to the centre on week nights? My only complaint is that when I ordered a drink, I noticed a 20% gratuity had been already added to my bill. I didn’t see a sign anywhere indicating that, nor did the bartender mention it. When I said “Oh, the tip’s already on the bill?!”, the bartender responded “A little bit”…

We went to see the amazing guitarist Eric Gales last night and I don't know if the chosen venue could have been better. It reminded me of dancing to blues at my grandma's house with it's dim lighting and painted over brick walls. Instead of album covers I almost expected to see pictures of my family on the walls. The sound was great no matter where you stood and we waited less than 5 minutes at the packed bar. There's a schedule written in chalk at the entrance that's worth checking out. This is a great place to discover artists you've never heard.

Didn't actually get to experience a show. For months I have waited patiently to see my favorite artist Alex Lahey perform. I was met with disappointment when the venue kicked us out. The bouncer thought my friend was trying to pass a fake ID who by the way just turned 21 the seventh. Very upset to say the least. For the record, both mine and my friends ID'S are not only real but %100 legal. Also on a side note, we walked into at least seven different bars just to prove a point.

Antone’s is my go to place to see the blues in Austin. We were lucky to see Gary Clark Jr(he’s a part owner) this week, but there is always a good band to catch. My advise is take a chance during the week with an artist you don’t know. We’ve never been disappointed. Sound is great, drink selection is ok. Parking is what you’d expect downtown, but they do have a valet service.

  • Kelsie Bailey

It’s Antones, do you honestly need more for a review? Located on 5th street across from Stella’s. Music will never ever disappoint. EVER. Drinks are made & served professionally & fantastically (Old fashioned are damn fine). Valet parking is available, your vehicle is parked around the corner in Trinity street. If you tend to be cold natured, bring a jacket. It gets cold.

I'm so happy this iconic live music venue is still around and still hosting some big name acts. However, I really miss the old Antone's, when it was located next door, where Eddie V's is now. I miss seeing Cliff's face beam with pride as he welcomed patrons, introducing himself, mingleing with the crowd. RIP Clifford Antone; you are still loved and missed dearly!!

  • NANCY McLellan

Stellar concert with Jackie Venson killing it. Great experience at Antone's. No problems for ADA access and navigation. Easy and quick entry. Even though standing room facility, had some folding chairs for ADA and early arrival folks. Restrooms clean. Bar has good selection and busy bartenders. Had a complete birthday blast. Thanks for a great time.

Came in for the first night of the return of Monday Blues night with Soul Man Sam. It was truly a spectacular experience and a very casual environment and personal performance for Monday night blues. The service was lovely and of course this place is an icon of Austin; and I loved seeing all the posters of musicians who played there.

  • Hilary Kircher

Went here for live music from Whitey Johnson and was not disappointed - the sound was incredible and price was also very reasonable. I would love to see a packed show here sometime, as this one was a little sparse. They had a gift shop in the front with memorabilia from SRV and other legends. Cool spot, would go again.

  • Jacey Hurst

We went to see Devin the dude and it passed the vibe check, strong drinks, happy employees and a great crowd. You could also tell they put a lot of thought into opening acts getting the mood right. We got early enough to get seating right by the stage! We didn't need a vaccine card or any covid bs

  • Reed Nolin

Ghost hounds and Dave Grissom, put on quiet a show. Entrance fee was 7 bucks, attentive bar staff, and a good selection of beverages, an Austin old school favorite, Antone’s lives on. The crowd really seemed to enjoy the show. The drinks were modestly priced, and the acoustics were above average.

  • Dahlia Guerrero

We caught Emily King there recently, did the meet and greet and love the venue! Keep supporting live music and especially this Austin gem. It's conveniently located, an easy drop off/pick up via car service a d walking distance to Stella Jacs and Eddie Vs for snacks before the show. Cheers!

  • Dave Swain

Great tenders and front end personnel. Grab a excellent sandwich sub next door in the record shop to soak up that Shiner or Lonestar beer you will be drinking all night. I recommend sitting around the corner from the bathrooms. Tables along wall with another bathroom for your convenience.

  • Jess Rushton

Antones night club is by far my favorite music venue in Austin. I love the fact that almost every night of the week you can catch a live show here at any towns my husband and I have a special soft spot for antones as it was the first place we ever saw live music together in Austin.

  • Trisha Agrawal

Saw Panchiko here. Really really great venue. Super intimate and small. The lighting honestly was super cool and really added to the ambience of the concert -- these guys really know how to support a great show. Also, the shop selling earplugs right next to it is very convenient.

  • Emily Carney

What an epic place to see live music! So many legends have come through this spot, you could feel the history. I saw Langhorne Slim on a Thursday night with a lively crowd ready to dance and sing-a-long. The bar staff were super kind and the drinks were tasty too!

  • Mehran J

Paid to see Sonny Landreth there on April 28th. Awesome show. After the show they said everyone's gotta get out and pay a cover to get back in. And for what? To see a country singer. Got nothing against county but thought this was "Home of the Blues".

  • itsya boi

Sad shell of what this place used to be. Way too woke and corporate now. They literally ban comedians for telling jokes. Please save yourself the time and money (drinks are ridiculously overpriced now) and go to one of the other 100 venues in austin.

  • Nic Mather

Enjoyed a great concert experience at Antone's in Austin. Small, cozy, intimate venue that provides for a great listening experience and an opportunity to engage with the artists. Sound quality was great. Drinks were good. All in all worth a visit.

  • John U Guzel

Amazing venue! We catch the John Primer last night. Staff at the door is funny, they know how to entertain people. Bar crew is sweet. Stage crew is rocks! They have 7 days live music here and trust me you will find at least one day you like it!

  • greg scavuzzo

I have been going to Antone's since it was down town back in the 1970s , saw Muddy Waters there , Paul Ray and the Cobras with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Denny Freeman opened the show, they were great when they were on Guadalupe, saw Stevie Ray

  • Tom Brenna

Austin's Home of the Blues. The acts are self explanatory. Have seen some brilliant performers over the last 5 years. The bar has usual booze with some craft beers, plus potato chips and hot dogs. Only about a dozen tables with 4 chairs

  • Lori Nelson

Nice, cozy venue in Downtown Austin. We had the pleasure to see the hilarious Atsuko Okatsuka’s stand up. The drinks were well made, not over priced at all. Bathrooms were really clean and there wasn’t a bad seat in the house.

  • Tracy Edger

It's not the same cool atmosphere as the old 5th St. location. Has a nice long bar with good drinks. Note that gratuity is included on all tabs. It's a great way to take care of the wait staff. More places should do it.

  • Renee Wahlheim

Very cool little nightclub, was my first visit. Saw a fave musician plus a few new ones perform there - quite intimate. Next time I'm in Austin, I definitely plan on checking out the schedule! Great Austin night spot.

  • Purple Barn

After the move to 5th street, Antone’s finally has a great stage with a proper view. The sound is excellent as well. Great bar and a great location. Definitely one of the best music venues in Austin.

  • Audra Pruitt

Lovely experience. Amazing sound. Everything was so crisp and clear. Restrooms were impeccable. Great tap selections. Fast bartenders who recommended quick alternatives to sold out items. …

  • Brent Fidler

Great place to listen to live blues! Relevant atmosphere and good selection of beers. The house band was excellent. The acoustics are not bad. I will return to Antones next time I am in Austin

  • Aaliyah Rosario

while attending a show, I went through an incident and I am so thankful for the staff at Antone’s for their quick help. The staff was very kind and went above and beyond. Thank you!!

  • A. A.

Antones is a classic. Even though it's not the "original" Antones, there's still such a palpable energy here when you come to visit. Go see a show here. You won't regret it!

  • Mr E Mann

Antone's has moved since the last time I was there. Much smaller now, not nearly as nice as the last place. Seems like the end of an era for an Austin Icon.

  • Dino Costa

Downtown concert place. Small. People talk during concerts like they are in their backyard barbecue and can replay the concert music anytime. Millenials...

  • Phil Archer

A true Austin original and the place to enjoy world-class blues. Kingston mines in Chicago has nothing on Antone's, a gem that is not to be missed.

  • Brian H

Antone's is my favorite spot in Austin to see live music. Their shows are affordable, and the venue is excellent. I highly recommend this place.

  • Uziel Juarez

Very cool club with a long history in different locations. Retro style shop at the bottom with vinyl records and Antone's t-shirts.

  • sansan y

Sweet local spot for live blues and other acts. Strong drinks, big dance floor, and people there to listen to music. Very fun!

  • Amanda Butler

Went to see Upsahl and King Mala. I cute little venue. Expect standing room only and get ready to enjoy some fabulous music.

  • Adam Jones

Nice small venue. Saw Perpetual Groove here at a sold out show. Great bar staff and plenty of room even with a packed house.

  • wesley harris

Awful venue, rude staff and incompetent leadership. Don’t waste time or money on this Chinese state sponsored establishment

  • Noel Santacruz

We had a blast here. Scott Strickland put on a great show. The bar staff was all very pleasant and the prices were decent.

  • Short Fuse Studios

Antone's is great. But I recently saw a comedy act that was so cringey and uncomfortable to watch. Maybe stick to music.

  • Daniel Key

Another don't miss venue in Austin. Don't worry about who is on the schedule, just go. You will not be disappointed.

  • Holli Hulett

Great venue for live music. Pricey beers (like $8 per pint) and typically higher cover, around $15. Great service.

  • R Ruud

Great venue. Amazing sound. Perfect size to get right up close to the band. And the drinks are reasonably priced.

  • Matthew Hill

Love this place! The music was incredible! Thank you for a great night in Austin TX listening to amazing artists.

Great bartenders and great memorabilia, in the heart of downtown austin music capital of the world

This club sucks. Too woke. Everyone head over to The Comedy Mothership. Much better environment.

  • Margaret Willoughby

Smaller than I would have thought, but that was cool. Wish there would've been seats for all.
