"ABP should be ashamed of their prices"
"Convenient if you're visiting in the hospital"
"So after reading many of the reviews I figured why not add mine"
"At the IU hospital off Senate the young African American lady is incredible she’s kind and always working so hard"
"I love Steven he was the clerk that took my order, he had a great attitude a great smile and a sense of urgency"
ABP should be ashamed of their prices. Their landlords should be ashamed that they allow ABP to charge what they do considering the cafeteria doesn't open for dinner and therefore there are few other options for families and employees trying to find something decently healthy to eat. Your choices are to pay $10-12 for a rewarmed sandwich or $4 for a small bowl of salty soup. Or, you can pay by the pound for whatever they put on the "lunch bar" and has been sitting there since breakfast. The attached photo shows what I paid a little over 6 dollars for. The employees don't care - will ignore you standing at the counter, cover your sandwich in sauce while they wrap it up, then make you wait for 10 minutes standing at the cash register for one of the three employees behind the counter to come around to ring you up, despite the fact that all three made eye contact with you standing there. This wasn't once - this has been my and others' experience on multiple occasions. I get that convenience comes at a price, but everyone in charge of this place should be ashamed.
Convenient if you're visiting in the hospital. I see a lot of complaining about the prices, but they're really about on par with Starbucks. I always got a large vanilla latte & my husband would get a large caramel macchiato, the total came to $8 and change. So take that for what you will. The breakfast sandwiches were one of the more reasonably priced food items, in my opinion. (Although I only drank coffee.) My only criticism is that on one occasion the espresso maker was broken down so I got a regular vanilla iced coffee. Their house blend coffee is definitely not to either of our tastes and I was given SF syrup rather than regular. Ultimately, I poured the coffee down a sink.
So after reading many of the reviews I figured why not add mine. 1st I do love the food. They kind of remind me of Panera bread. 2nd The staff is friendly. I had a lady who didn't speak English well, but she got my order right! 3rd, maybe those of you with bad experiences expect way more than you should from a cafe?? SO on the the down side, I agree with the price complaints. Really? $8 for a salad that I know only cost you $.85 to make?? I'm sure Methodist IU charges you a hefty price to be in that spot, but making your food prices 100x the cost of making it.. sorry but not everyone that visits is a doctor.
At the IU hospital off Senate the young African American lady is incredible she’s kind and always working so hard. Every time I pass by she’s working of some sort and always doing so with a smile. She brightens up my day & she’s a very kind sweet soul. Her smile and laugh are so infectious. I think she makes the entire atmosphere better. She also so encouraging whenever I told her about my mother. She’s simply amazing. They truly have one of a kind. Tamara is great!

I love Steven he was the clerk that took my order, he had a great attitude a great smile and a sense of urgency. However the big disappointment was the young girl that paid she was obviously having an issue with her boyfriend on the phone. Was rolling her eyes and was very unhappy at her job. I wish I had the receipt so I could tell you her name but she was a young African American Girl with fake eyelashes very unprofessional very unhappy and not an asset to your team
This is one of the worst places I have ever been and the fact that it is in a hospital where people are visiting sick or dying family makes it even worse! It is WAY to expensive for the small amount of food that you get. The service is extremely slow and poor, poor, poor customer service! I have had better service at a hot dog stand and the food pwas better with a reasonable price at the hot dog stand!
Food is good, but sometimes they have attiudes like the customers are bothering them also, they need to change the gloves on there hands..they fix your food with the gloves they touch the knives with, handles on toaster, n they use a knife to cut onions then the same knife to slice your bread and then you have onion taste on your bread when you don't like onions.
Terrific food and staff is always very friendly. This place is a prime example of why catering contracts are NOT a good idea. Being outside the system (I'd assume) keeps this place on its toes. Comfort food and a warm staff is exactly what's needed in a hospital eatery. I've been here for work and as family of patients. This is a bright light in Methodist.
I gave it 3 stars because they are to expensive for their own good. I get everything mybe fresh, I also only patronize the IU METHODIST store. But 10$ for a salad is a lil excessive. Overall it is good food and I do use my time at Au Bin Pain to "treat" myself anyway

Decent food relative to the other food options in the hospital but also higher priced in comparison. I personally love the thai peanut chicken wrap or the Caesar salad. The cafeteria just can't beat the taste and quality of Au Bon's salads, and I'd rather spend the extra $3 here. To each their own!
Decent selection of foods. I loved the hot sandwiches. They also have really good cupcakes. Everything I tried was always good and good quality, definitely the place to go if you want to avoid "hospital food" quality while you're stuck in the hospital. Staff was always lovely as well.
Dealing with a trauma situation and am personally post surgery. Just wanted shot of espresso and glass of ice to mix protein shake. 6.00 bucks.. Really guys?? Come on.

My Turkey bacon melt was DELICIOUS!!! & the young lady behind the counter was so kind & patient with me bc it was 1st time I had been there so I was full of questions & she glady with a smile took her time answered & explained when needed.. way to expensive for poor people..
Horrible I order a chicken salad sandwich with barely any chicken salad the price was $9.04 for nothing they should be ashamed of this poor quality food and high prices really ZERO stars

This quick but made fresh place inside Methodist hospital (I.U.) is really tasty. I got a BLT with their own special sauce and a mango smoothie. They were both really good the bread was a different kind of bread not one normally used for BLT's it was the best.
I was there for lunch rush so as expected it was busy. My only problem was, the signs weren't clear on how to order and were to stand to get your food. Or for that matter were the line to order even was. But the food was food. And the area was clean.
This is IU Health Methodist Hospital. Unfortunately my family has spent a great deal of time at the hospital and we have eaten at Au Bon quite often and I have never heard a complaint from anybody. It's clean it's quick with a very good selection.
Fast friendly service. Breakfast bagel sandwich was good for hospital food. Lots to choose from.

The food is good, but pricey for the amount of meat on the sandwiches. They need more staff especially as the soup is very popular, but you cannot get your own. The lines to checkout can be very long. If you want fountain drinks it is not
Not very impressed with the ridiculous prices I ended up not buying anything. I'm sorry but I have a problem buying something that I absolutely know the price is bumped up because I purchase this or these particular items elsewhere often
The soups are delicious! But wow on the price!! A sandwich, a cup of soup and smoothie and it $17 and some change! I guess it was established for Dr's pay not a place that a family member stayin would want to enjoy daily. …
Great sandwiches, the chicken avocado was good

Great eating in a hospital setting. Ate here 3 days. Staff was extra engaging and conversational. Has both pre made items (wraps) and grilled items. Husband enjoyed pick your own salad entree. Good desserts also. More
It is pretty expensive as it is located inside a hospital, I do understand that part, but I have to take it down a star as a result. At least the food is pretty good and tends to be a step above the regular cafeteria.
The croissants were exquisite! This location is in a hospital, and the selections were limited.

The food is always great!! There are so many things I love here....lemon pound cake, pastries, breakfast spinach croissants, mushroom soup, etc. I could go on and on. Watch out though...the prices are kind of steep!!
They have delicious pastries at any of their locations. The store layout was confusing at first but food was delicious and employees were very helpful. I had the mushroom soup and tropical green tea and spent $6.74.
Pro: Nice alternative to hospital cafeteria but hefty price. Con: all servers do not speak English. May come across as NOT caring in a population of folks at a vulnerable time. I recommend the Thai peanut wrap.
The food is VERY expensive for two people with 1 wrap each, 1 bowel of soup and 1 sweet roll and 1 cookie 1 Coke zero cost $31.00. can't afford to eat there is you are on a budget. It was good but costly.
I got the spicy tuna toasted and my brother got the Newport chicken sandwich, we smashed em in about 2 minutes, and they are large sandwiches. Kinda greasy but that what makes it good right?
Seriously. It's at the hospital. Please pay the workers more. The food is expensive maybe the service would improve if they paid more. Because most of workers seem to not like it there.
Great soups and sandwiches. I stop by whenever I have a doctor's appointment, usually grab at least 3 cups of soup to go. If I lived closer I would probably go at least once a week.
The sandwich was good. The staff was great.

It's an expensive choice but it is the best tasing food in the hospital and i don't usually get BLTs but theirs is Delicious and there is a large soup collection.
Good choice in the hospital. I had soup and it was ok. I'm not certain any if it is hand made. Didn't like the chicken salad. Cookies and muffins good.
I was in the hospital for 5 months, this restaurant is the only thing that saved me from the hospital food. Great fresh food but it is a little pricey.
My wrap was good, but they made a point to comment about what toppings added were healthy. And I will as also charged to refill my own cup with water.
The soup was delicious. The restaurant has such great memories for me and my family. Best place to eat when at the hospital visiting patients.
It's quality for a hospital Cafe. Just obviously pretty pricey.

Ridiculous prices. Rude staff. Food was mediocre at best and the cleanliness, especially considering its in a hospital, was subpar.
Slow service, vegetables on my sandwich were cut way too thick. Overpriced for the amount of food you get and it's not made well.
They was very helpful for someone in a wheelchair. I ordered a made to order salad, a fountain drink, and cookies. Very nice.
Getting a great chai here always makes my hospital visits a little better. Staff is friendly and quick to answer questions.
The products are great, if you can afford them. I do like their smoothies. Its good for people who can't eat solid foods.
Cold pastries without a microwave to warm them. Pain was felt with the prices. Clean and inviting area. Friendly service.
Soup and sandwich we're decent for hospital but prices were absurd, even for a hospital. Our first and only visit there.
They are always out of pop selections. They need to get better at managing their stock and ordering appropriately.
Tuscan Bean soup was so great after not eating all day....... several vegetarian choices sooooo two thumbs up!!!!
Good soups and drinks. Girls were very pleasant.. very expensive but it's in a hospital so it's what I expected.
Food is better than cafeteria, which isn't saying much. Expensive for what it is.

Prices are ridiculous, $34.00 for 2 cups of soup, 2 salads and 2 large drinks. Won't be back.
Excellent sandwiches and soup. Prices are rather high, but they do offer quality products.
This is a great place, and have great food. People that work there are pleasant and nice.
The food was very poor did not taste good and I would not recommend this place to nobody
Soup was not good. Service was nice. I kept the Danish & g in t a refund for the soup.
I brought some baby back ribs from Methodist Hospital at Au Bon Pain and they are good
Great food but a little pricey. Make sure to get your bread stuck with your salad!
They have a lot of cookies and muffins and other great tasting baked goods.
The vegetable soup, cream cheese veggie dip with croutons are all delicious
It is nice to have here in Methodist Hospital but it can be a bit expensive
Friendly ppl working. Prices r extremely expense. Found a hair in a salad.
I can't believe a large fountain drink cost $ 4 dollars it's ridiculous
Very pricey but the cookies are addicting

The friendliest service ever and tasty food. I enjoyed it very much!
Amazing food a little pricey but everything in this place is awesome
Great soups but little expensive especially the one in the hospital
Always delish!! Got to get there early for chocolate croissants!!
Excellent soups pricey and a very nice comfort after my procedure
expensive, slow (for this location) but my turkey club was tasty.
Good customer service and great food, experience but worth it!
Beyond my expectations, great service even better Turkey wrap
Clam chowder was watery. First soup there I haven't enjoyed.
Best pastries, Fantastic soups, my favorite bagel/ smear...
Nice variety of breakfast pastries, but no decaf coffee.
Good food and convenient eatery in the Gateway building!
Good food just overpriced. Especially for in a hospital.
Great choice for a snack or quick meal! Very nice also!
No real complaints, my visit was brief and chocolatey.
Good food, a little on the pricey side. Good service
Food was ok very over priced. Staff was nice though.
They charged my son $1.25 for a glass of ice water.
Too expensive. $14 for 2 grilled cheese sandwiches
Nice selection, kinda pricey, but well worth it.
Good food but a little pricey for hospital food.
Excellent! Food is a bit pricey but excellent!
