Update: Still 5 Stars ...I just received my plates. Matt earned and maintained a 5 star rating from me. Great Experience, thanks Matt, would do it again, but I almost didn't purchase my car from this place due to the negative reviews. I will say that the reviews caused me to take more precautions than I normally would. but in reality for cars that have the mileage that most of this dealers cars have, everyone should be sure to do their due diligence. I worked with Matt on the purchase of my '04 325ci Convertible. Like many mentioned he comes across somewhat aloof, but I came to realize this is because he is very busy and if we are all honest, people, including myself, call and come by dealerships, new and used, with minimal interest in completing the purchase unless we find "the one". I also believe there are some cultural differences that might create the appearance of disinterest. Matt was great to work with and EXTREMELY accommodating, I am from far outside the Austin area and Matt went above and beyond to help me with this purchase. I asked if the car could be independently inspected and he obliged with no hesitation, he even took the car to the inspector for me. (Please don't abuse this, I live a long way away from Austin and the inspector was only 2 miles from his dealership) If you are local, within a reasonable distance take the time, spend the money and pay for a pre-purchase inspection. The car had some issues, but nothing surprising for a car with 120,000 miles on it. I payed $150 for the inspection, but that was worth it knowing for sure there was not $1000's worth of issues, I am grateful to Matt for providing this type of customer service. The transaction portion was very business like, Matt is not a talker or really one for small talk, that was fine by me, I got in and out fast so that I could drive my new car back home. I will update this review once all paperwork is officially filed and I have my plates. If all is smooth then I will keep this at 5 star.
Terrible experience overall. Staff neither friendly or engaging. Huge problems with the Jeep they sold us. * VIN number recorded incorrectly by seller on forms sent to DMV. Resulted in churn and delay on title transfer. * General neglect: various non-urgent maintenance issues found by my mechanic before sale which we were prepared to eat: $2,500 worth. (Daughter really liked the car so we went ahead with the understanding she would address in due course) * Discovered after sale: * Evidence battery was disconnected to deliberately(?) hide OBDI codes * 3rd brake light failed State inspection despite assurances, just labor to fix, luckily my mechanic ate the cost. * After 3 weeks of driving: check engine light on: Fuel vapor build up to dangerous levels. Evap system had to be entirely rebuilt, over $600. * Began Overheating! * Radiator fan motor entirely blown. New fan required, $500. * Evidence of botched head gasket repair via "liquid tune up" / stop-leak, in an attempt to hide? * Low engine compression! Cylinder head replacement OR complete new motor: $3,300 OR $4,100! * $4,470 MINIMUM on a $7,300 car!!! This excludes the initial maintenance items above! * Car currently off the road while my young daughter works hard in retail to cover this disaster. * Battery loose: locking clamp was fitted upside-down. Battery moving around, caused stress on terminal posts and their clamps. Intermittent non-start as a result. New positive clamp required. $8. Sold as seen, but holy balls! Don't do it!
Do not buy a car from them. They sold damaged car and lied about history. I purchased a car 7 month ago. They told me this car never involved any accident. And i believe them. But A week later, it started to vibrate. I thought it’s ok because that car almost 10years old and i suspect its wheel problem. That’s why i did not take it back to the dealer also i knew they will deny to fix the problem because it was “as-is”. And i was too lazy to take it to the mechanic to find problem so i just drove it. But its getting worse and worse. Seriously it is really bad. Then i realized its not just wheel problem So took it to the mechanic. He checked out and told me lets replace tire and wheel and i did and slightly got better then before but still vibrate. I took it to mechanic again. Two days later, he told me i have to replace rear crossmember and control arm and will cost around $2000. Also he told me Its damaged by impact from the side. Which means this car got an accident. I did not want to spend $2k on this car but i had to wait to buy another car for some reason. And I finally ready to buy another one so took it to dealer to sell few days ago. of course, they found accident history on this car. DON’T BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALER!!
The young man Ruben was awesome. I had a check In hand, he had the oil changed, filled the gas tank and was having it washed while I signed paperwork. It all took about 4 hours. Now mind you there was ZERO negotiation with this place and NO warranty not even 30 days. I could tell ruben was nervous to even approach his uncle about any requests I made. Never the less it seemed like a great truck for the price so i was going to take my chances ..As soon as my husband showed up to sign he simply wanted to look under the hood. He noticed a filter cover was loose and a hose was disconnected. When we asked ruben to have a mechanic look at it. The uncle matt started to talk in a baby voice as he belittled my family's request to take 15 mins to look at the small issues. I then approached him personally and his tune changed to a IDGAF attitude. He said the mechanic have didnt time tol ook at it at all. When I said would you rather lose the sale then to take 15 minutes to look at it he shrugged his shoulders and said do what you gotta do. I told him I was going to take my check elsewhere and he said fine and walked away. Just wanted to warn everybody their prices mean seed good but their owner's attitude is horrible.
I recently purchased a Dodge Nitro 4wd, RT. It had all the options i was looking for. After driving a bit the passenger airbag light came on. Matt saif they will fix it when i bring it in for thesecond pssenger window, behind driver's seat and regulator. They have yhem on order. Matt answered all my questions and the buying process was seamless. Great guys there. But less than a wrek lster, the check engine light came on. Everything froze up. Matt has refused to make good sying it was running when i took. Very shoddy dealership. I'm now screwed and making payments on a vehicle i don't even have. I would not recommend buying from this dealer unless you enjoy being screwed like i wad. A senior citizen with a disability. Afte driving the nitro for less than 30 days, and the engine blew up. Now the dealer refused to yo fix it. He was do not buy from them. He was thry can't wait for be trusted and will screw you over with junk carssmd no valid credit card title
Went into this dealership interested in a car. Asked for a test drive. The sales person, Matt, gave me the keys and said "take as long as you want." The car was in great condition and I was happy with the price (below market value by a considerable amount). Asked If I could have a mechanic come by and take a look, he said yes and then when I asked if he cared if I pulled the codes using an OBD he gave me his and let me use it on the car. Came back the next day to buy it and I asked for a better price. Without question he ran the numbers and offered me far less than I was expecting. Great experiment and will buy from this dealer again. It's crazy how willing to work with me he was considering that I went to Leif Johnson (a big dealer) and was given the run around for 4 days before I lost interest. Good to know that there is still an honest dealership in Austin. Thanks Matt!
Overall, I had a great experience with this dealership. Rami was very polite and good with communication via text and phone. I was allowed to take the car for a test drive, no questions asked, as well as take it to a mechanic for a pre-buy inspection. This is critical for anyone buying any car from a small, independent dealership. If you are looking to purchase a vehicle (period) you should make the time and set aside a few dollars to get it pre-inspected by a mechanic or the Maker's dealership. Otherwise, yeah, you're taking a big risk (no matter where you go). -- TL;DR Small dealership with a wide variety of cars – they'll let you test drive and take it away for a pre-buy inspection (should you choose to), no questions asked. Straight forward with communication and easy to work with. Rami, thank you for helping me acquire my dream car, the Nissan GT-R.
I was extremely disappointed in Austin Direct Auto sales. I came in with a trade in that I still owed on, with a down payment as well. I gave them everything they needed from my prior auto group that i belong to. They told me that they would make it work and would get back in touch. They asked for some things on my hehalf and then I never heard from them. I texted, I called, I emailed and was ignored. I was so excited about the car I was going to get and they told me it wouldn't be that day but it would happen and they would be in touch. I heard and saw so many good reviews about them, but my experience was the exact opposit . They wasted my time, gave no communication, and no respect. After five days of being ignored I took my business elsewhere and got approved and was extremely happy with being treated with respect and having great communication.
Great experience. Matt was very responsive and allowed me to take the car to my mechanic for a used car inspection. Because they are a small dealer and don't have onsite mechanics, I highly recommend anyone about to buy have a mechanic inspect any car(s) you intend to buy. Runs about $75-125 depending on who you use. I recommend this even if you plan to buy at a large dealership or with a private seller to make sure there are no underlying problems. I assure you it will be the best money spent for peace of mind and will minimize finger pointing if there is a problem. Once I confirmed my intent to purchase, the process took about 30 minutes to complete and I was out the door with our new(used) car. Great overall experience without the typical haggling and high pressure tactics most of us have dealt with. Thanks for the great experience!
My wife and I had the most incredible experience at Austin Direct Auto Sales. We drove four hours from Fort Worth, TX and we almost were unable to get the vehicle due to complications with the bank but a man named Rami made it all work out. He was heaven sent!! He told us exactly what to do and how to get a loan approved with a specific bank all in that same day. It was approved and at a VERY low interest rate and we would have never been able to get that if it weren’t for Rami. He was so kind and extremely helpful, and the whole establishment was very professional. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with them. Thank you so much Rami. You are excellent at your job and we will forever be grateful for you and all the help you have given us.
I would definitely stay away. Bought a car here and less than 24hrs later the car stopped working, the engine bay was covered in oil and there was also oil coming from the exhaust. They were less than helpful and refused to make the situation right, definitely lack integrity and customer service. I’ve filed complaints with the Texas Attorney General, BBB and will be contacting the media. I’ll also make it a point to bring awareness to other potential buyers through social media to stay away and take their business elsewhere. If you want to do the right thing contact me directly. I’ll be taking the car to a mechanic today 10/22 to diagnose the issue. Save your money and stress. Shop elsewhere!!!
Daughter bought a car here on Monday 5/24. After driving for a total of about 3 hours the check engine light popped on with a catalytic converter code. Called them and they said it passed state inspection and was bought AS IS so it was our problem. After seeing all the reviews of this dealer seems like this happens alot and always the same story. They can not be getting these cars inspected legally or this would not be happening so often. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place, I wish I had looked at reviews before we went there. I'm going to try reaching out to the state licensing department and file a formal complaint.
Not sure quite what happened today at this dealership. My husband and I were interested in a car, but during discussions the salesman became so angry with me that he slammed the desk and stormed out yelling that he was done. I was shocked and surprised, as we actually quite liked the car but felt it was overpriced. It was quite unusual and unprofessional behavior for a salesman and I hope that the gentleman in question is OK as he seriously over reacted and I was concerned for him. Another salesman apologized and offered to continue negotiations but we were not comfortable purchasing from them at this point.
I have yet to buy a car from here, but I would. Looked at two cars but decided to keep looking. This place probably buys cars from the auction and tries to sell them to make a profit...totally the American way. It's just like buying any other used vehicle; check it over carefully and get a pre-inspection. I worked with Matt. The process was, here is the key and take the car for a drive. No salesman to distract me, just me and the car and I appreciate that. I would not hesitate to do business here in the future, just would have car inspected first. The prices are appropriate on the cars I looked at.
I recently purchased a car from Austin Direct Auto Sales. I went in knowing what I wanted and they were able to take me straight to the car. I test drove it and they even went as far as to let me drive it until the following day. I was pleased with the service and they were very accommodating by working around my schedule. They took me to drop of my rental car and brought my plates to me at my job. They provided exceptional customer service. Everything happened in a timely matter and by the end of the next day I owned the car . It was hassle free and easy. Thank you MATT!
Saw the car on USAA, walked in and they handed me the keys. Drove it. Came back and bought it. 30 min deal, easy and no problems. They honored the USAA sale price no problem. For anyone complaining about customer service.... yea, they were laid back and didn’t seem to be overly concerned... however... anyone who wants a salesperson to follow them around and pay them a lot of “attention” clearly has zero experience buying used cars. That’s called “high pressure”. This place had zero pressure, I want to interact with sales people as minimally as possible. A+
I never write reviews but felt the need to for this company. I purchased a car here and less than 24hrs later the car stopped working, the engine bay was covered in oil, and all sorts of check engine lights came on. What a nightmare!!! It may look like they have a nice inventory but the cars have hidden issues like you couldn’t imagine!! This company buys used and mostly wrecked vehicles from auctions and then sell them to us innocent people for insane prices. Could this be anymore corrupt?! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! Buy a car elsewhere!!
I usually don't trust sale man specially in car business, but when my wife and I walked in this place for first time to look for a car for my wife, didn't feel pressure to buy and I felt free to go to every single car that my wife liked. FINALLY (you know women) my wife choose a car and (thank god) yes the people in that car lot were really helpful to make it easy and quick. highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a friendly and honest people to buy car. Thank you Austin Direct Auto Sales.
I came in looking for a car, Hyundai Genesis to be exact. Rami was very helpful when it came to financing and made the process very smooth. This was my first time buying a car so I was a little nervous but Rami was able to clearly walk me through the steps of what I need to do and answered every question I had in great detail. The whole process took under 2 hours and I am very satisfied with my purchase. If you see a car that you like here go ahead and get it and I promise you will not be disappointed!
We purchased a car around two weeks ago from Matt who assured us the car was a good car and had passed inspection. However I’m not sure how. Two of the tires were completely bald so we knew we would have to replace them but a week after the engine light came on. So we took it to the shop and they said the brakes were 97% gone and the transmission blew. Apparently the transmission had 0 oil. Be very careful before purchasing a vehicle from this dealership and make sure you take it to a mechanic first.
I can't say enough about my buying experience from Matt at Austin Direct.I found my Ridgeline on line and called the dealership. I live two states away which could be used against me. But, Matt told me exactly the condition of the vehicle. Included the fact that it will need tires in the next year. I had a family member visit the dealership before purchasing the truck. They said Matt was incredibly nice and helpful. I would recommend Matt and Austin Direct. Very happy customer.
i had an amazing experience, i was looking for a car to buy cash. since they are hard to find at the moment i jumped on the car i found online. came to auto direct auto sale on the 183. the agent where very nice and clear about the car, i was looking at. I looked at the car checked the engine, inside and took a test drive, thr car was clean and amazing. the process when smoothly, and signed the paperwork and walked out withen a decent time frame.
Bought a 2011 Ram 1500 yesterday. Have no complaints whatsoever. There was an issue with the truck during the test drive, but brought the issue to Adrian's attention and he had it fixed and allowed us to test drive after issue was fixed, and the issue was resolved. Pleasant first time buying experience. Didnt feel rushed or pressured to buy. Their lot is a little crowded due to lack of space but other than that, I would definitely recommend.
I they lied to me. I bought a used car 2months ago and it’s been in the shop for a month. I was told it was inspected and recently serviced. The car fax showed a service history but when I took it to my mechanic, the oil had never been changed. It’s black sludge and the engine is ruined. They tried to sell it to me with bald tires, claiming they were new. I should’ve known then that this place was sketchy. I’m filling a claim with the BBB.
Extremely helpful! I applied online and got approved the same day! Car was in good condition and it rode smooth. I purchased a 2015 Audi!. We were in and out. UPDATE: The car was in really bad condition. There is a hole in one of the pipes (eventually we will have to get it fixed) it needed an oil change as soon as we got it and today the A/C stops working. Im sorry the customer service was good, but the condition of the car was horrible!
Haus was our salesman. Really great to do business with. Would recommend asking for him personally if he’s there. Worked with us on the piece! Cleaning and small maintenance request were accommodated. Paperwork was clear. Didn’t feel pressured or as if being scammed. My advice, no matter where you shop…please remember if you are getting a “used” car, there are always risks and imperfections that come with that purchase.
10/10 would recommend if looking for a great used vehicle. I traded in a 2007 Tacoma and got a 2015 Audi for a great price along with a trade in value that was much higher than I was anticipating. Matt was very responsive to messages and they even fixed a small malfunction on the vehicle after the sale despite the "as is" contract. I Will definitely be coming back in the future shall I need a used vehicle again.
Shad was awesome , don’t expect to haggle on the price. I got a good deal on a car but it does have an airbag issue sometimes or at least the alarm goes off here and there cause it had been an in accident but it’s not a salvage title. You’ll only see 1 or 5 star reviews here because the 5 star reviews is only because he makes you put a 5 star review then and there
Great selection, literally 100's of cars.. I drove 3 different Altimas. They were pulled and ready for me when I arrived. Found 2 I really liked. Purchased the right car for me! Shad Aziz was easy to work with. No hassle, no pressure. Great experience. One tip: pull in at the yellow buildings before the sign--it was kind of hard to find a parking spot at first..
I just bought a used 2015 gt mustang from them and I personally have loved driving every mile of it so far. If you’re trying to find or buy a used car hit my boy Matt up and he’ll hook you up no problem. I also loved that they had good customer service with quick responses and readily available information. I’d 100% recommend looking into them.
Just bought a car here yesterday and not 30 minutes down the road the check engine light came on. Had to take it to the shop and spend an additional $500 to get the car fixed. We are pretty sure this dealership cleared out the engine code so we couldn't see it when buying. I love the car and customer service but GET CHECKED BY A MECHANIC FIRST.
I recently purchased a car from Austin Direct and have been more than satisfied with the experience. The car was reasonably priced, and when I discovered some minor mechanical issues after the sale, Matt and his team graciously repaired the vehicle free of charge. I would recommend Austin Direct to anyone looking to purchase a used vehicle.
This was one of the easiest car buying experiences I’ve had. Matt was always prompt with communicating with me via email, texts and phone calls. He didn’t have any problems with me taking the vehicle to a mechanic to get checked out before we made the purchase. Everything was straightforward and easy. I recommend this dealership.
Good no hassle purchase of 2011 Scion XB. These guys were no pressure and made a good deal for us. We saved some money over a big name dealer. Car was in very good shape, just needed a few maintenance items (as expected with used car). Matt and his team treated my wife and I with respect, and we had a quick and good transaction.
There are a lot of mixed reviews about this place. It is not a big budget full service dealership. These small places have their place and this is a good one. The owner was nice, helpful and honest. If you know what you're looking for and don't mind no free coffee and want a good deal this is the place for you.
If you want a laid back car review experience this is the place. If you want straight forward and honest, this is the place. I felt in complete control of my car selection and review. Any issues I raised were dealt with promptly. I found the overall quality of the cars to be consistent with the asking price.
NO GO!! BUYERS WATCH OUT They will sell you a car that looks good and seems to drive well but after a week or two, problems, serious ones start appearing. No warranty and just money you will have to spend to fix the car. COMPLETE SCAM AND DISHONEST FOLKS. If you must buy a car from them, demand for warranty.
No-pressure, didn't feel rushed. The dealership made the process reasonable. Quick and clear communication email or in-person.No games. Final price was exactly as negotiated no last-minute surprises. Professional and business salesperson. All kinds of cars you can choose for your best fit.
I finally found the vehicle I had been looking for here! The owner and sales team were very kind. They let me take the vehicle to my mechanic and have it checked out. I had my new plates just a few days after purchasing. A terrific used car buying experience! Thank you.
Great experience! Ruben and his team were amazing making the process very easy. There was no pressure, no ugly negotiating, and we didn't waste an entire day sitting around haggling. The car was the best value we found when looking. Thank you Ruben! We will be back!
Awesome place to go, prices are super low and some are even under book prices. Very easy to work with and willing to negotiate. Bought a mustang here and the guy gave me a price that was great especially for the car. Recommended for anybody looking for a used car.
Amazing service. This is my second time buying with them. No pressure at all. financing even with low credit I was in and out quickly and totally painless! Their cars inside out look brand new and quite a variety. Definitely check it out …
Shad and the team were extremely helpful during my purchase of a Tesla Model S. I am active duty military and deployed. Shad always responded to my questions and concerns in a timely manner. Definitely recommend this dealership if you need a vehicle.
Had a great experience at this dealership, Matt was honest and allowed us to test drive as many cars as we needed to with no pressure to buy. His price was below market average. I would recommend Matt and his dealership to all my friends.
My boy Shad was on point with everything. Very professional and great customer service. He had everything set up for when i got there and he made it so easy for me. Would definetly recommend. Go see my boy Shad for your next vehicle!!
One month after purchase and needs $6000 in repairs for preexisting issues that Austin Direct Auto Sales hid. I should have known when the engine bay was washed but the exterior wasn’t. Oil leaks everywhere Thanks a lot
Great experience here. Matt was more than helpful in making this transaction one of the easiest car buying experiences I’ve ever had. Got me the car I wanted for the right price and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks!
They had the car I wanted and treated me and my family with the utmost respect. Ask for Robbie he helped me and is an awesome dude. I can’t say enough how great this place is if you’re looking for a car.
Great Service! They actually care about what you want and what you can afford! I had a great experience with Rami he gave he all the info i needed to know ! Thank you Guys !
Shad and Matt were wonderful to deal with. Highly recommend! Shad went above and beyond with working with me til I could buy the right car. Great experience!
