"I'm really disappointed I can't give a negative rating as the service in Australia Post and particularly the Pyrmont branch is nothing short of comical"
"Absolutely terrible! The manager Jeung just ruined my day! I came to do the simple ID check for a new bank account and this 5 minute deal turned to be a 45 minutes torture! He didn't know how to use software, was incredibly slow, and was not able to recognize documents even i explained to him million times! His trainee was helping and showing him! I have a private insurance not medicare, explained to him but he said these documents means nothing! Very rude and unprofessional! Then he looked at my bank statement for the 10th time and asked where from I know when this statement was issued? You kidding me"
"I got a blue slip in my letterbox Monday afternoon"
"Got a delivery note for my partner birthday gift coming on friday , said thay i can collect after 3pm , came to pyrmont post office at 310 pm but the package not arrive to the branch yet"
"I have been coming to this post office for over 5 years"
I'm really disappointed I can't give a negative rating as the service in Australia Post and particularly the Pyrmont branch is nothing short of comical. As the Pyrmont shop is only open between 9-5 Monday to Friday and has no early morning pick up service it meant I was unable to collect my parcels without having to take a day off work. I therefore requested the parcels to be redirected to the Broadway shop which offers a pick up service starting at 6:30am. Please note I had to request this via the online portal as nobody was working on the phone customer service that day i.e. I waited on the line for over 30mins with no indication that anyone would eventually answer my call. After receiving a confirmation a week later I was informed the parcels would be redirected to Broadway as per my request. Upon going to collect my parcels on business day 4 and 6, both over the 3-4 business days requested by Australia Post to perform the transfer, I was informed my parcels had yet to leave Pyrmont. For perspective you can walk between the post offices in less than 20mins. After no response to my case update for a week and a half I rang Australia Post and was lucky enough to do so on one of the days they actually have call centre workers on duty. After getting through I was then informed my parcels had been returned to sender and it's up to me to contact the sender and get them back. The good news out of all of this is the kind call centre worker said he'd raise a dispute against the Pyrmont branch for not actioning the request. What did I get out of it all?? That's right, absolutely nothing.
Absolutely terrible! You kidding me... And this is just a small part of his unprofessional actions. I ended up just leaving nearly in tears cause it was an urgent matter for me to do this check on time just because there were about 20 people in the line behind me waiting.. Will NEVER go back to this place. Also put complain about Jeung, hopefully someone would talk to him!
I got a blue slip in my letterbox Monday afternoon. The tracking number was illegible and as it turns out, was also missing six digits. The Pyrmont Post office is only open 9-5 Mon-Fri, making it difficult for people who are employed. I called Australia Post Tuesday morning to have it transferred to North Sydney and was told it would be there by Thursday. I went into the North Sydney Post Office Thursday and Friday and it still wasn’t there. North Sydney staff couldn’t look up the tracking number, nor were they able to contact Pyrmont. So I called customer service again, who told me that because Pyrmont still uses a fax machine to receive requests, the transfer wasn’t initiated until Wednesday. This still doesn’t explain why it takes more than two days to travel between two post offices in the same city. Maybe I will finally get it Monday, a week late.
Got a delivery note for my partner birthday gift coming on friday , said thay i can collect after 3pm , came to pyrmont post office at 310 pm but the package not arrive to the branch yet. So i have to come back later. Later on, due to heavy rain and traffic, i arrive the office at 5 past 5, the office closed at 5 pm. The door locked but saw a couple staff still working inside , waving at them . The lady just look at me and ignored me, later on the man looked at me, and waving at me like as begging some thing from despite i stood there for more than 10 minutes. They just chooses to ignore me and keep doing their things. What a terrible customer services. I wish my Aus post should somehow improve this outlet services or at lease direct my package to broadway outlet which much more better services.
I have been coming to this post office for over 5 years. The young chap, Uda, is very helpful. He is attentive, patient and very informative. Unfortunately, the old man, Jeung, is incompetent. It is his life's mission to ruin his customer's day. He is truly a Grand Master of the Art of Inconvenience. If you are ever waiting in line, and he beckons you over, pretend you are still browsing the shelves/filling in some paper work. Let the person behind you go ahead. If you don't take my advice, Jeung will do everything he can to ruin your day, and potentially even your week. I'd love to know his origin story, as he is one of Pyrmont's greatest villains. The 1 gold star above is only a symbolic badge that should be pinned on Uda's lapel. Otherwise, I would give Pyrmont Post Office ZERO STARS.
It's generally an okay post office, Jin is very helpful and goes out of his way to help you to find the postage solution you need. I dread getting assisted by the owner/manager as he will often gouge you for whatever he can and not offer any helpful solutions. He often doesn't know what he's talking about either, which I have seen on a number of occasions with people in the line. They once rejected a parcel for being too large and sent me on a long chase. Definitely not the best post office and only redeemed by one person who works there. Would be nice if the post office serving the most populated suburb in Australia was at least half decent. A real shame.
I wouldn't even rate this place a one star. The service was rude, arrogant and non complaisant- and this is coming from the branch manager Jeung. There has been a couple of feedback here for Jeung and I didn't think he would be that bad- I was proven wrong. Due to an unresolved issue I asked for his name so I can come back to see him- his response was" you write my name down you have hands"! If this is the type of service Australia Post approve for their Franchises, no wonder the level (or lack off) service has gone down the drain. If i ever have a choice I would never use this branch again.
The staff at Aus Post Pyrmont really need more support, especially at peak hours such as lunch time when this is the only time a number of customers can visit the store. It’s often the case where there’s only one or two on the counter which means a long queue especially when customers want their passport renewed. Understand staffing challenges and costs but at least consider a solution to support your staff and make it easier for customers such as introducing a self serve option for simple enquires like parcel drop offs, etc + existing staff for more complex enquiries. Thanks.
I stayed home to wait for an important package to be delivered. Apparently the delivery guy apparently couldn't be bothered, so instead automatically left a 'You have a parcel' slip clearly advising that my package was now waiting at Pyrmont Post Office - annoying however tolerable. Once I arrived at the Pyrmont post office (as directed by the slip), they stated that they had no room in their storage area so they sent it to Kingsgrove Post Office (40 minutes drive away). Well done Australia Post and their Pyrmont franchise. You have both famously failed at your one output!
Poor policy and customer service. I purchased a money order for a visa, and upon being told at the consulate I didn't need the money order, proceeded to a nearby Australia Post to get a refund (the flagship Australia Post in the city). They told me to go back to the Pyrmont one indicating that if I did, I'd also receive back the issuance fee given Australia Post was not facilitating any payment. Australia Post in Pyrmont "no, you've lost your money, you'll only get back the amount for the money order". No wonder this organisation is losing market share and customers.
The negative reviews calling out the old man that works here are unfortunately completely accurate - he's rude and goes out of his way to make each transaction as painful as possible, presumably because he enjoys wielding the small amount of power afforded to him. It's a real shame, as the young gentlemen that works here is just that - polite, courteous and helpful. The old man could learn a lesson or two, but I'd say the chances are slim. It's very much luck of the draw here, but if you need something important taken care of, I'd avoid like the plague.
Went to pick up my parcel with a collection notice and a photo ID. One of staff (I believe he's the manager there) wouldn't take my ID as proof since the parcel is addressed to my other name. Fair. Showed him a digital copy of proof under the name and address but then he claims that I need to print it out. He wants to see it in 'paper'. Not to mention he was extremely rude and unreasonable. What’s the point of having a P.O. box? Why do you even bother to waste another piece of paper if the collection notice doesn't prove anything? What a joke.
I have been using this post office for 11 years. The younger man who has been there as long as I can remember is very helpful, calm and polite. Will help you with anything and is never rude or stressed and nothing ia a problem with him. The older man however is the one everyone has issues with. He is rude, doesn't listen and treats everyone like we are inconveniencing him. He is even rude and unhelpful to the younger man who clearly keeps that place running. I feel sorry for him working in such a toxic workplace with old grumbles.
Horrible experience with this post office. After rejecting my UK passport because the form didnt have my middle name on it I phoned up the company its going to and asked them if it was ok which they replied yes as passports can have very long names on them. He wouldnt speak to them or even acknowledge that point and then wouldnt allow me to edit the form which again the company i was talking to was fine with. Absolute jobsworth wont be using them again ever ive never been so stressed filling out a form
I have the same experience as the review below where the parcel slips never get left, and there is no online notification. Plus 'failed delivery' attempts happening on days where I work from home and I don't leave the house during working hours. Some of the delivery staff are absolutely exceptional but there must be someone who is not doing even their basic job. Lodge a complaint if this is happening to you.
No Star review if Google allows!Very poor customer services and the staff has ZORE AUPOST knowledge, they even don’t recognize authority to collect from, says very clear how it works on AUPOST website and staff at counter still won’t accept it for no reason! Have no words to describe how angry and disappointed I am because God is listening! Should be closed or sold to people who know how to run a post shop!
The old manager is extremely rude, unrealistic and backwards. I will be redirecting all my mails elsewhere! A post office should exist to service the local community, you are holding everyone back and giving Auspost an extremly bad rep; if you hated customer service so much, let someone else who's capable do the job, then we can all stop wasting time and be happy. Do us a favour and retire pls.
Really bad service I went there to return a parcel but, I couldn't print my label at home so I thought could print it there (like in any other post office around the world) but the attendant told me they don't do that so I couldn't send it, when I got back home I recive an email.... Saying "You can print your return label at a post office" It seems like they just don't wanted to help me.
Hopeless business hours. It's a city post office in the 21st century. These guys think they're operating in 1980's rural Australia. Extend your opening hours to 17:30 weekdays and open on a Saturday morning! Have no problem, at all, with the team that work there. Might even be nice to deal with them a little more, if only i got a chance to get in the doors before they close.
I have never had any bad experience with the staff. But open it on Saturdays for a couple of hours for parcel pick up please. I have lived here more than 5 years and 3 times my parcel left there for collection. And I have to leave work to be able to pick it up. This suburb needs a PO and happy to have one. But the fact that I cannot use it on Saturday is terrible.
I made an appointment to lodge my passport at 3:30. I get there and they tell me they don’t lodge passports after 3:30 when there are 4:00 and 4:30 appointments on their website. They didn’t lodge it for me. So frustrated leaving an angry review to take out my anger lol. I literally made an appointment at 3:30 how are you gonna tell me you can’t lodge it
The opening hours of this post office (Monday-Friday 9-5pm) makes it very difficult for anybody who has a 9-5 job, it is a very inconvenient time to pick up a package. It would be beneficial if it opened a few hours on a Saturday or an hour later on a Thursday or Friday. Please could someone reconsider the opening hours of this post office.
This post office is only open Mon - Fri from 9am to 5pm, making it extremely inconvenient for most people who work standard office hours. On top of this, the service is always sub-par, and sometimes even outright rude. There's a young man who is quite helpful (I think his name is Jun) but he's the only positive thing about this post office.
My experience, never a problem,I been served by everyone working ate the post: But I like to comment, people never happy, reason because the post open Monday to Friday 9. To 5 ....better open this hours:or don’t open .they should be happy to have a post office.and this working people are like your and I.remember that.stop complaining.
It is great to have a post office in this suburb. But what is the point of it when it works only 9-5 Monday to Friday. Now my parcels have been returned from the locker to the post office because of a mistake that the seller made, and I cannot pick them up. Because I also work during the week full time.
Poor opening hours! No early pick up for parcels as at every other Australian Post shop near the city! If you want to get your parcel you have to take a half day off from work. Slowest and most unmotivated staff ever! Ridiculous that this shop still exists nowadays. If you can avoid to go there.. do it!
Asked best way to send important documents to U.K. Totally gave me the wrong information and now the document is lost !! Even Post Office head office said they don't know what they are doing !!! Now gotta get a new password going to be extremely difficult are overseas !!!! Should be minus 5 stars !!!
An unfriendly lady staff didn't bother to give my screeming baby an extra attention while over 10 people were in the que and they had to put up with my baby cry. Seriousely they are not really nice at all.... I would much rather go to Broadway Australia Post even I have to walk extra half an hour.
I went some days ago to ask specifically for stamps' prices and they told me $2,30 then I went to purchase it and they told me $3!!! what a joke! they specified all the details of the $3 ones but when I went to ask for it they just said $2.3 and they did not give me much specification. Rude lady!!
I picked parcel many times with friendly young man, but this time I served by a rude Old woman(including her manager an old man). I bring my ID card and business card and also my phone, but they said they only identify address, they never deliver the parcel but has so many requests with customer.
This is the worse post office in Sydney, everything is dated and old. The old man his name is Jeoung is the worst staff, he would go out of his way to make the service bad, he is rude, slow and have no idea how to do his job. However the young Asian man Uda is very friendly and helpful.
Worst Post Office in Australia!! Never have I ever come across a more obtuse and indignant agent! I will have my mail redirected from now on. PS clean your shop, it is a poor reflection on other Auspost outlets. PPS, maybe get another job not in public service, cause you suck at it.
Poor service, rude staff but I'm not sure if this is just a Pyrmont Franchise thing or an Australia Post thing as I've never had a great experience at any Australia Post. Pro Tip: allow an hour to get anything done as they're so slow it takes forever to get to the front of the line
After attempted delivery went to pick up the parcel with a collection card, just to be told that they don't have the parcel and call the number of AP, without any other information. Turns out they rejected the parcel and now they have a case trying to locate it. It's a joke.
By far the worst service I’ve ever received at a post office. The manager is terrible and so rude. They say the close at 5pm but really the lock the doors earlier than that. The opening times are also ludicrous, 9-5pm for an inner city outlet is disgusting.
After disappointment that courier didn’t deliver parcel to home address , and after attending shop on Harris st to collect box, without success I attended the pyrmont PO. I received excellent customer service and help !! Thank you and Merry Christmas!
Don’t think they would even care about the google reviews cos it’s not a service you can easily choose to go elsewhere for, but if any other service venue has a manager as rude and robotic as the older guy here, they’d have shut their doors long ago.
hORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. And they dont provide their phone number, force you to call 131318 and wait for an hour to get someone to answer your call, everytime! Wont even have one star , Australia post Worst business in Australia.
Very disappointing, they sent my photos to wrong email address despite the fact I wrote it down on a paper for them, I went back next day to ask them to send another email and they replied they don't have the my photos anymore!
Come on, 9 to 5 only on mon to fri? Is this fantasy? At least open an hour later or earlier and on saturday morning! Terrible service on top of the opening hours... I wish i was living in another neighbor just because of that!
Worst au post lpo ever , old and oudated All other LPO accept digital identification , only this Lpo dont want to So for what u using digital n barcode to track item if u didnt accept digital identifications Common sense
Post office at convenient location in Pyrmont neighborhood. Unfortunately, its opening times (weekdays 9 am - 5pm only, closed on weekends) make it really difficult to use their service for those working typical office hour.
I work around the corner and have been coming to this post office for almost 4 years. I have used almost every service they offer from passport applications to parcel delivery. The staff are always helpful and patient.
there is a staff named monica . she os so tude and impatient. once i finished the filling in international delivery form she asked me to queue again. she also packed my parcel carelessly . so terrible experience.
What’s the reason for having a P.O. BOX? That’s because I need my bloody letter to be able to be collected at anytime I want. Instead, I’m seeing a collection notice in my box. Are you F kidding me?
Pyrmont Post office is a complete failure. I applied for a mail redirection and they did it wrong. I lost 2 weeks of mails just because they didn't put the application correctly on the system!
This is the only post office for this area and it’s only open 9-5 Monday to Friday closed on weekends….poor form! how are people supposed to collect there packages if they work mon-Fri 9-5?
Terrible service. Extremely slow, bad opening hours. Also was given wrong information here on document verification resulting in extra fees, unnecessary paperwork and weeks of wasted time.
Fast and very helpful service. I went in for a passport photo and renewal, which they only do some hours of the day, so I arrived at 10am and there was no queue which probably helped :)
Most of the time there is a really LONG wait. Constant lineups, and they are slow. They clearly don't care about keeping the customer happy. I try to avoid this place at all costs.
The lady was rude when interacting with customer. She doesn't use polite words such as "Pardon" or "Excuse me". It was like she was screaming at people when checking ID. Horrible.
Possibly the most unhelpful Aust Post franchise ever. Consistently slow deliveries. Inconsiderate opening hours. No after hours collection. If only there was a choice.
Inner city post office that is only open during the hours that people are at work seems like a pretty stupid idea. Opening hours of 8-6 would make so much more sense!
Good service. That's all you expect from a post office!. Ignore the contrarians giving negative reviews here. They need to find better things to do with their lives!
Very professional and friendly staff service. I pick up parcels frequently and they are very helpful and very friendly. They know me as a regular.
The old man is clearly unable to carry out the basic duties of finding parcels in the delivery room, not to mention poor general customer service.
Absolute joke service wise. The person in front, myself and the person after all had issues and could not pick up parcels ADDRESSED to them!
Horrific customer service from a gentlemen named Jeung. Very disappointing. If you don't like customer service then why be in the industry?
Robotic service. It'll be nice if they can think outside of the box to solve your problems instead of what ever it's convenient for them.
Fantastic service by AusPost. I have gone to get passport photos done multiple times and they have always been extremely professional.
Very small post office with slow and lazy staff who have no idea about customer service and who don't apologise for their mistakes.
Staff isn't professional with identity service at all. I think they need more training and get familiar with the business.
It’s small and can get busy at times as with any other post office. I’ve never had any issues dealing with them.
5times I ordered something 5times never reseved needed to go there to pick it up very rude and arrogant personal
Needs to be open in the weekends, it’s really hard to collect a parcel when they are only open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
I went there for Australian Passport photo and I got it within 10 mins and I was extremely happy about it.
This post office is most unfriendly post office I ever been, The staff are very rude and unprofessional!
Extremely helpful staff - went out of their way to help me with a package that I couldn't get picked.
Run by a local family. There is hardly ever a wait and I haven't ran into a bad experience with them.
I have dealt with Pyrmont PO for 10 years. I have always found staff to be friendly and helpful.
good service. Nice staff. Near by my house. Can’t believe so easy to get my delivery in AU haha
Extremely bad hours and poor service. Worst post office I have ever used. Should be shut down.
You can get passport photos here but they aren't quick to service you. Very small post office.
Friendly service and always nice and quick. Great to have a little post shop here for locals.
Australia Post takes up a whole parking space which is only used twice a day for 5 minutes.
How ridiculous that it's not open on a Saturday or slightly later one day during the week.
The worst service in the whole Australia! Absolutely not recommended and use DHL instead.
Best service provided Guy name UDA is so helpful and very polite. Really Appreciate
True, very unmotivated and sometimes even not the best attitude to the customer
i love this post office! theyre always so friendly and helpful :) thanks guys!
I come here weekly. The staff are friendly and efficient. Never had a problem.
Efficient and very helpful, especially when I was getting my passport sorted.
So helpful and very prompt! The assistant was polite, friendly and very good!
Friendly service, everything is hope for from a small, local post shop.
Quick and friendly- The young guy at the counter was very helpful.
Service was average, and the post office itself is really small.
Service staff have always been great. Helpful and knowledgeable
Only drawback is not open Saturdays or outside of 9-5
very friendly service. i love visiting this branch.
first class service the 2 times i have been there
Quick and easy transactions. Friendly staffs too
Amex tap and pay works here now via Google Pay.
Extremely unhelpful and bad customer service
The manager is fine... quick and helpful.
avoid this australia post if you can..
Such lovely staff and super helpful.
Omg the service here is really awful
They people were incredibly rude
Always welcoming and helpful.
