Avis is a hit or a miss, this location is a big fat f-ing miss. Of the five people I spoke to, two bent over backwards to help me out as much as possible, those two were from corporate however (one other person from corporate was not-so-helpful but still respectful), the other two people I spoke with at this location were most certainly not. I had made reservations for a car for pickup and since I did not know all the details yet, the man on the phone assured me that I could change them in post, which, in fact, I did end up having to do as my traveling companion informed me that we would be getting on the road at a later time and had to drop off the car later too. No problem, the confirmation email I received allowed to change information like that and even confirmed that my rental would stay the same price. That day we started running late and I was worried we would loose the reservation, so I called the office to let them know we were coming still. Unfortunately, they had not received the change in time and still had us booked for much earlier this morning. I explained to the woman on the phone that I had changed the time online through the email and she was VERY rude and told me that since she knows nothing about that (and apparently technology in general) she can’t help me..and that I “better hope they have something when I get there”. Um...excuse me?? That’s not how you treat a customer! Plus, they had my information! Why didn’t they call me?? I would have been able to tell them over the phone and get things sorted out! Also, the audacity to say that to me! To not even try to help! To just wish me f-ing luck. And when we got there, of course there was nothing (apparently they couldn’t manage to hold a car after I called) and wouldn’t be for hours. They had given our reservation away. The man I spoke with at the counter when I got there was rude as well. When I asked him why no one had bothered to call he said they can’t monitor every reservation, since there’s 45 of them...okay way to go, I’m a hostess who manages 300 reservations a night so you can F off with that lame excuse and poor customer service. No apologies, no nothing. We got all the way there for nothing. And we needed a car and they basically f-ed us. Leaving us stranded. Whatever you do, NEVER rent from this Avis! POOR customer service. RUDE employees! Your well being means NOTHING to them! I hope corporate fires every SINGLE one there and changes house. And I WILL be complaining to corporate. MARK MY WORDS. Your behavior is unacceptable.

I drive for Uber so this occurred with the Uber / Avis representative that works the front counter and, is partially bald. Unfortunately, my encounter left me deeply dissatisfied, and I hope my feedback will prompt positive changes within the company. I required a local tow from Douglasville, Georgia, to Eastpoint, Georgia, and this seemingly simple transaction escalated into an ordeal that I never anticipated. What was meant to be a straightforward rental agreement became a source of frustration and disappointment. And, on top of that I’m being charged for a broken windshield that wasn’t broken when the vehicle was rented to me. I believe it is essential to highlight the conduct of one Avis /Uber representative during this experience. I suspect that their actions were driven by personal motives, resulting in me being overcharged for my rental, seemingly out of spite and retaliation. Despite my efforts to resolve the issue amicably, I was met with hostility and resistance. Avis, as a reputable rental car company, should uphold the highest standards of professionalism and transparency. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of these expectations. It is disheartening to think that such questionable practices can persist within the company. I sincerely hope that my feedback serves as a catalyst for change within Avis. No customer should have to endure such treatment or questionable billing practices. I urge the company to investigate and rectify this matter to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. In conclusion, my recent experience with Avis Rental Company was far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to share it as a cautionary tale for others. We are in Jacksonville for a short trip. Decided to book a car with Avis to meet with the old friend. As we have an infant we ordered an infant seat. The reservation was made a week before. As we arrived to the location they showed us our car, Chevrolet Impala to check if the stroller will fit. We checked and the stroller fit into the trunk. We left all our belongings in the car and went to sign papers and took the seat. They didn’t checked that we made a reservation with infant seat and they didn’t have something to offer.... They told us to wait another 30 minutes for an infant seat. During our waiting we went out of the office to get our belongings and we didn’t find the car where we left them ... they rented our car to somebody else with our belongings in it. 45 minutes later the guy who told us to wait came back without a seat. It happened that they couldn’t find a seat anywhere. That guy was so rude, screamed at us. The day was spoiled ... we came there at 11 and left the office at 1.20. As an apology they proposed us to upgrade the car without an infant seat. Really??? That’s the worst service I ever seen in my life. I recommend to AVOID this location. The worst, rude and irresponsible service.

The agents at this location did not wear masks. When I picked up the car, there were 2 people at the front counter but only 1 person was helping people. The other person was clearly bored and at one point just sat there fanning herself. There was quite a long line of people waiting, only a few of whom had masks on. So, here we were stuck in a small building with growing numbers of maskless people and only 1 person actively waiting on people. Then we got the car. It was not cleaned well. The front feet wells had been vacuumed but not the rest of the vehicle. There were stains all over the seats. We cleaned up all of that and also sprayed down the vehicle from front to back with Lysol because we didn't trust the vehicle had been properly sanitized considering the agents didn't bother wearing masks. When I returned the vehicle, there was only 1 agent, not wearing a mask, and once again a long line of customers of whom only some were wearing masks. Based on this experience, Avis will be my last choice in choosing a car rental company.

First of all the rental office is just dirty and the employees look like they came in to do lawn work the way they are dressed. It was very unprofessional to say the least. The lady skipped over us to take a person who just walked in the door, then turned around took her car she returned and gave it to us in 5 minutes. We came after 12 and they did not have a car for us. My husband was on his lunch break and if that person would not have returned her dirty car then we would have not had a car. Now onto the fact that they did not clean the car at all except maybe run a vacuum on the drivers floor. The agent could not have cared less. How unsafe, as we are coming out of this covid environment. It wasn't a camry like we asked for a month ago or even similar . I am appalled at the unprofessional, careless, and not reliable service of your company.

When I went to Avis to rent a car Badar checked me in. He was very nice, respectful, and helpful. He was even able to get me into a white car like I wanted (much cooler). Badar offered it as an upgrade at no additional cost which was really nice. I had to leave the rental car there overnight because I could not get a ride back to pick it up. When I returned to pick it up the next day, he saw me in the parking lot and came out to inquire. When he learned that I was unable to get a ride he offered to checkout the car for that day instead of the previous day thus not charging me for a day that I didn't use the car. Badar went above and beyond the call of duty and provided extraordinary customer service. I highly recommend this Avis location!

I was renting vehicle and Avis provided me paperwork with wrong tag. Someone 3 states away got ticket on wrong plate and I had to pay it after explaining situation. To make matters worse they wanna charge me again for same ticket and keep trying to draw money from my cc. I was told many times that regional director is workinh on it bit I never got a call from that guy. I was promissed check back for ticket that I paid and never got anything except them trying to charge me more. AVIS CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT CARE THEY OPEN A TICKET AND DO NOTHING. I would like for Avis to stop trying to charge my card and pay my money back. UPDATE …….. THEY JUST CHARGED MY CARD $105.00 AVIS YOU OWE ME $180.00 FOR YOUR MISTAKE.

They gave me a dirty car that had marks and stains all on it and needed an oil change the next day. Horrible customer service from every employee that was there, no one spoke to me when I arrived including the racist manager Ray. SamSarah was completely rude to me didn’t walk me out to check if my vehicle was acceptable but they did give the other ladies their options to a car of their choice and to clean and detail their vehicles. Then on return of the vehicle Ray was very rude and then when I left he charged my credit card for $650 when the receipt I was given said $433. I feel discriminated against and will be looking into filing a lawsuit.

Made a reservation for vehicle a few days ahead of time. On PRICELINE and AVIS site both show this location always open, You are even given an option to select the LATEST PICK UP TIME is 11pm. I got to this location at 7pm and they had already closed. Closed at 6PM. When I called all they said was they transfered pick up to the Airport location, then call was dropped. After 3 calls back to them, I was finally told the airport location was going to be $140.00 more than my original reservation, and that had ben CXL and customer rep. Made a new one without my knowledge. I ended up CXL all together. I will NEVER use them again.

It's been a couple of years since I rented from this location but nothing has changed except the faces. The service I received back then was great. Actually it WAS top notch this time. Mr Ray runs a tight ship. The staff is professional and pleasant. I arrived an hour early for pick up but that didn't matter. Mr Ray and Eddie took care of me. Then when I returned the vehicle, Lee handled it. I WILL ALWAYS use this location even though there's one 7 min away from me on San Jose Blvd. (That should tell you how great they are at the Atlantic Blvd location) Kudos Mr Ray and your team!!!! I compared the rates of all other car rental places and this was by far the least expensive. The Avis representative who greeted me when I first walked in was very friendly, courteous, and professional. (I have had other car rental places haggle me and try to talk me into purchasing extra insurance and things I don't need...this did NOT happen here, which was nice.) My car was waiting for me and pick-up took only a couple minutes. The car was the perfect size and in great shape. Returning it also only took a minute or 2. Avis will definitely be my "go to" for car rentals. Great experience!

we’ve kept a good working relationship with Jay at this location for a few months now and HE is the reason I put 2 stars... However, don’t expect good customer service from the ones working the counter or answering the phones. If you inconvenience them, they will definitely let you know. I was put on hold for so long it cut me off and hung up… when I called back to try again, I was given attitude and told they are busy (like I can see in the building). I literally had to just hang up with no idea of how to handle my current reservation with them. Very disappointed.

We've been coming here for years and it is our favorite Avis location hands down. They work hard to accommodate your needs and is super convenient for us. Not only do you not have the headache of going into the airport, but it's actually quite a bit cheaper because there are no airport fees. And almost without exception, the vehicles in their fleet are nicely equipped. Our latest rental (Standard SUV) even had adaptive cruise control. Covid update 9/2020 - they are taking safety seriously and even sanitize the interior of the cars.

I usually rented cars with Avis and left my car at Avis garage until I returned, but last time I rented car from the Avis branch at 10246 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32225. the man there told me that l’m not allowed to leave my cars. that was very disappointing because how come I can drive two cars at the same time and then I was about to cancel my car reservation and he told me that I could leave my car, now that was even more ridiculous because if there was a place available, why did you try to waste my time.

Nice staff but I would do everything to rent from another company. Stay away from both budget and avis at all costs. They will find a way to charge you more and will do so without you there to argue the point. Make sure every scratch and dent is on the paperwork before you leave and pray you don't get a scratch even a small one during your time of rental. Also do a walk around when you turn the car in and make sure they don't magically come up with dents and scratches to charge you money. Rent from someone else!

We booked the car on line at 9.30 am, went there at 11.00 am to pick up the car gave Rachel our info she said you don’t have reservations so we said we booked this morning also when she spoke us she was very rude said come back at 1.00 I said we like to talk to your manager she reply again in very rude manner you are not going to talk my manager so we said if you don’t have a car then cancel the reservation , she thru license on counter and said call Avis , never do business with them again

Doesn't matter if you have a clean driving record and a debit card with more than enough money to cover your rental, they won't rent to you without a credit card if you don't pass their credit requirements. I had the money and needed a rental while my car was in the shop, absolutely ridiculous policy they should mention when you're booking online. Waste of my time and a bit humiliating to top it off. Never gonna recommend this place EVER.

A++ service! Once again Ray and the Avis team comes through for me on short notice. I tried a different rental company because they were offering a “discount”, after having a pickup truck reserved for over a week they called me at 10 am the day I was supposed to pick it up to say they do not have one in their fleet close enough- well that “Hertz” I called Ray and he was able to get me a truck in record time !

This place is a dump! The car that was given to us smelled like every person that rented it smoked in it. The car wasn’t available until 4:30pm, it was packed with people returning cars and with only one person working (good plan) there was no way to return the car to get one that wasn’t a piece of junk! Avis sucks and they should have a department that is strictly complaint calls...they would always be busy!

The experience was terrible I needed a car for traveling and they took my money off my debit card then when I showed up to pick the car up they said I didn't pass a credit check I so we couldn't get the car after I was approved on line and paid them. Then they wouldn't give me my money back said it takes up to 7 business days left me without a car and funds to travel. Avis sucks. I will stay with enterprise.

This is a busy little location. The staff is friendly but the cars are slim pickings and there's usually a small wait here. The parking lot is not navigatable and can be a problem because it is that small and active. The staff here is polite and the location itself is clean inside. As usual they share the building with budget. I can't note anything to special but if there was a deal here I would go back.

I called and reserved a vehicle & it was not even on the lot upon my arrival. The people in the store made poor excuses and did not offer any discount or another vehicle for our inconvience. I strongly do not recommend Avis/Budget on Atlantic Blvd. The customer service and over all business provided was far from being remotely acceptable for such establishment. Save your money and don't waste your time!

I have rented cars at this location through both Avis and Budget Rentals. The manager and staff are friendly and efficient. They get you signed in and in a car in quick time. They try and accommodate their customers to suitable cars making sure any questions are answered and provide good information. They are recommended so if you're in need of a rental stop by.

I always rent from Avis because they have the best deals. I'm treated great when I go in and last time I was upgraded at no extra charge! This turned out to be exactly what I didn't know I needed. They even stayed after closing when I was running a little late picking up my rental from work. I appreciate great service and I always get it from this location.

Agents at the Jacksonville Atlantic Ave office were polite, friendly and efficient. They had my vehicle ready for me exactly how I had requested. The vehicle was clean, and in proper order. The agents at BWI return center were airport efficient and very polite. I did call Avis during my rental to address some questions, and was again treated very politely.

The team at this Avis location was great. The offered me a fantastic BMW upgrade on my vehicle for a trivial price increase. They also helped look up my Avis Wizard info and get that applied, and updated by credit card info, all without causing any delay in my pickup process. The vehicle was in great condition and exceeded by expectations, too. Great job!

Had a reservation at enterprise, got there and waited in a 20 minute line to be told they had no cars anywhere in the city for me to rent 15 minutes before they closed. I had to scramble and I found avis/budget. Ray helped me out with no problems and had the best customer service I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I will absolutely be back here.

My hubby rents his cars from Avis, they gave him an upgrade from last month, which is very nice of them to do. While he's working in Jacksonville, and has a rental car, I can go to Brevard County in my car and see my Grandkids and kids and Friends. It was a waste of my money. It was supposed to be a $300 online deal for the reservation, but with fees/taxes, it became $500. It was filthy, smelled of marijuana, and had residue coating the inside so much I had to pull over and wipe it down to see at night. Everything was sticky and disgusting. Why am I paying half a grand for this??

Friendly and Professional. Couldn't have asked for a better experience with Avis. After enterprise tried to charge me 200 for a deposit, screwed up the charge and sent me away without a car... Ray from Avis helped me get into a beautiful, fully loaded ford fusion for less around half of what enterprise was about to charge.

We're back, baby! The state had changed our rental contract from Avis for several years, but even after being gone for 5-8 years, when employees walk in to get a car now, Ray remembers them. It's customer service like that, with a laid back pleasant atmosphere that makes me happy to return to this location and Avis.

Chose this location to get a rental while my car was serviced. Located on Atlantic Blvd near all the Jax car dealerships, this is a busy location for not being at the airport. Staff was friendly and efficient. Got a Jeep Cherokee Hybrid that was clean and new. The lead guy there is super knowledgeable and kind.

I had tried with several other rental services and by far, Avis was the most accomodating to my situation. I am not able to get a credit card currently and I appreciate Avis for not turning me away. I also really enjoyed the car I was able to use. I will definitely use their service more in the future.

Not a great experience with the cars from this agency. Despite of receiving a 2021 model, the car had the aesthetically appearance and the mileage of a 5-6 years old car with chips, breaks in the interior, engine noise, vibration, and misalignment. Expeditious check in and return. The vehicle was ready and waiting upon my arrival. The only thing is the inside could have been a little cleaner. I had to wipe down the inside with clorox wipes.

Go to a different place to rent a car this place is unprofessional and the people they have working in there don’t be doing their job at all. So save yourself the trouble
