I'm leaving a one star review only because i couldn't leave no stars. I'm currently on the phone for the 3rd time trying to get a refund that I was advised would take 2 days. I rented a car and paid in advance on the Avis website 2 days ahead of time. When I showed up to pick up the office was full of people waiting. Counter person had the worst attitude and advise there were no cars- that's it no options, no explanations, nothing. I requested my options and she advised i could join all the people waiting (no social distancing in a tiny office) as the airport was bringing cars. I elected to return in hour so I wouldn't have to be close to ppl. I called an hour later and was advised the airport had not dropped a car but I could get an SUV but it had to be cleaned which would take 20 minutes. So after another 20 minute drive to the location we are told the vehicle has a slow leak and the check engine light is on so we cannot get it. Literally stranded on a Sunday with an elderly relative stuck hundred of miles away. Now it's been 2 weeks and I have still not seen a refund. I have used other companies and never had an experience like this. I will never use Avis again.

I really hate this store. The person who assist you at the counter she is horrible. She will never talk to you with respect, she is so rude. I've decided not to choose avis ever again in my life. Their rules are crazy...I've got a rental for 3 days and I purchased an additional liability for 3 days, I was late returning the car by 20 minutes and the lady refused to adjust it instead she charged me for another day, I was ok to pay the money for additional day and I returned the car I didn't wanna keep but I still paid the full day price, and I said I am not going to drive the car remove the liability for the additional day because I've returned the car and I am not driving...what in the world you had to pay for freaking liability insurance when you already returned the car...finally they refused to charged me the liability fee for an additional day even tho I've returned the car. Never get in trapped with baymeadows avis, no good customer service and bad service.

fraudulent charges! the staff was friendly and helpful no issues with the car or the call center that gave me a refund. What refund? The refund on a fraudulent charge a week after I returned the car! I rented a car from 12/19-12/22 for $97.37 I returned the car earlier than my scheduled time, the man made no mention of me being late (Because I wasn't late). 12/26 I see a charge for $24.76! The call center said it was for an extra hour but then upon looking into the rental saw it was returned on time! Someone at the Jax Airport location submitted that charge knowing it was fraudulent. That is a nice way of saying you attempted to steal from your customer. I can't recommend this location. I also hope others reading this check their credit card for this tactic. It's happened to me before.

Poor Front Service and Over charges: I would highly recommend you to look for another better rental car (Enterprise). I spent almost $250 in two days even though the website said $57/day. They charged me fees, over fees, and over fees. The old woman, that looks Mediterranean and named Kithan, not only didn’t allow me to use my major credit card to wave their insurance but had the audacity to say it is “their policy” and that “the auto car market is still in crisis”. They did not give me the car I asked for, and it’s okay, but I still deserve AT LEAST a good service without CORRUPTION from service team. Again, look for another rental car, look at my receipt, and if it helps, a week ago, I rented with Enterprise, and they even waived the age fee because I am only 1 month away from 25.

Do not attempt to get a car from budget/Avis. We got to the location and right off the bat, the employee was rude and short while talking to me. Next the first car we were given had a flat tire. They exchanged that vehicle for another. The second vehicle had roaches and other bugs in it. We took it back and informed them we wanted a CLEAN car. The SAME lady was working. “Sorry” and gave us our 3rd vehicle. This one is full of dirt and is all the way around gross!!! Won’t give us a refund or make things right. Employee didn’t even ask how to make this right. Horrible service, horrible customer service, horrible vehicle. Pay a little extra for Enterprise

Absolute worse rental place. If I can rate it a zero I would. I drove all the way to Washington DC from Florida with a car they gave us with bad acceleration. The car was also dirty and ac stop working once we reached 6 hours. We called to switch out the car because we were at risk to get into an accident which delayed us on coming back early. Avis charged us for the car they failed to do an inspection on and charged us additional unnecessary fees. Avis is an absolute rip off they have horrible customer service. I’ve decided to move forward with legal actions because of this. So please stay away. This is not a company you should rent from.

We rented from this place Jacksonville one way to Miami FL, by starters the sales person which is also a manager there by the name of KHITAN told us that the rate would go up if we did not get Avis Insurance, this is a lie because the daily rate is $64.99 she said without insurance it would be $130.00 this is a Scam and a Lie we also got charged a late fee even though we were there on time and store was not open until 8am. This place is horrible on customer service, Avoid this place by all means and Don’t waste your money with unprofessional staff.

The lady who helped me was very rude. When I walked into the store I did not receive a proper greeting. She was very unprofessional when she carried on a personal conversation while she was waiting on me. After she confirmed that I was waiving the insurance she asked me if I had insurance and to which I replied by saying yes. She asked me if I was sure. I felt very disrespected at this point. I will never visit this location again. Couldn't even get a "have a nice day" out of her until I said it to her. Very poor customer service!

I use to rent from Heather and Kay at this location, but since Kay took the place over a few years it has gone down slowly but surely. Kay is usually in a good mood, but for the most part she doesnt clean the cars very well, and is usually trying to add in a little extra coverage, or road safety or upgrade on us business people. Not something that we want (unless we ask for it). I have found Guy's location at 340 State Road 16 in North St. Augustine to be the best service, cleaner cars, and faster in and out.

I am very upset with my experience at this location. Upon arrival I spoke with Kay, who informed me that there were NO rentals available. While we were finishing our interaction, another customer came into the site. I walked outside to contact customer service- and that said customer walked out of the site with keys to an SUV. Mind you Kay mentioned that there were NO rentals available. Furthermore, I wish I was notified about there not being any cars on site prior to my reservation pickup time.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Kay, and it was an unforgettable experience from the moment I arrived, Kay went above and beyond to ensure my gratification. The factor that contributed to me acknowledging Kay’s impressive, professional customer service skills was her patience, and ability to multitask by assisting numerous customers walking in as well as assisting me with my issue. Words cannot truly express the exceptional service I received. I highly recommend this location!! NM

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! This is a franchised location and the owner's customer service is disgusting. She gave me a rental that was not clean, so I upgraded to an intermediate suv to find out that she didn't have any at her location and she refused to upgrade me to a standard suv as a courtesy because it was July 4th weekend (her words not mine). Long story short she didn't get my business and she will never in the future. This location will close down soon thank God!

After years of using this place (close to my home) with good results. I was treated by the owner as if I was her child. Screaming and yelling at me like a madwoman, because I showed up at closing time and she wanted to go home; she became unhinged, tyrannical, and completely out of control. Customers should not be treated with animus and that amount anger and disrespect. Sorry Kay, I'll never rent a car from you again or ever recommend your place to anyone.

The only reason I go here is because as an Australian citizen, important insurances are included and it's walking distance. Otherwise don't bother, both woman, weekend and mid week are the rudest people I've met here or home. They're arrogant, unprofessional and I have witnessed sarcastic and down right rude behaviour to other customers. Not sure what other Avis stores are like but I would advise avoiding this one.

Lady in the office was rude bc I smelled like smoke. Not only that but they took my payment online but wouldn't let me get the car when I went to pick it up. Now I'm fighting to get a refund that Avis doesn't want to give me bc I had to cancel after my scheduled pick up time but it was only bc they wouldn't take my card. Will NEVER use this location and DONT recommend it to anyone in the area to use.

I rented a few times with them using my debit card the last time I went about a year ago the lady was rude and she said I can't use a my debit card I have to use a credit card but the fact that I already have a history over there with no issues you think I'll be able to use it plus I didn't like the attitude of the lady she has some type of accent which is okay but she just had an attitude problem

I rent cars here ever since i moved from buffalo. I have them washed and vacummed. I even got one where there was no windshield easier fluid. I told them she told me to put water in it. Last rental I got there after closing. Brought the car back the day after scheduled because my trip was delayed and charged me an extra $300 for half a day!

Online shows 88 bucks and when we go there to pick up, it shows 188 for 3 weekend days.. Too many hidden charges, not a good service by executives. They didn't even check fuel level, mentioned as full tank, and then ask for full fuel back. Not worth money.. Car wasn't clean inside, no wheel alignment.. I would prefer enterprise car rentals

Rented a van for a week to take a trip with the Family. Fantastic service, affordable pricing, good location for anywhere in JAX; probably the MOST pain-free car rental experience this 44 YO has ever had. Props to Joe, he was ready to go and explained everything in plain language. It could not have been easier.

Customer service was through the roof. Kay was super helpful and was able to get me the vehicle I needed to do a job. In logistics it is imperative things go off without a hitch. Thanks to Kay I did not run into any issues. I appreciate it and I will be bringing my business back.

on my account, I'm $ 208.50 for two days of rent, but with credit card I've downloaded it twice for $ 295.10, so a total of $ 590.20 at the bank stop payment of this bill. I'll never rent a car again here or recommend this place to other car leases.

Friendly staff, unfortunately they didn't have the car I requested, (not entirely their fault since they get their cars from other locations) but I was given a free upgrade to compensate for the lack of vehicle and worked out great for my trip.

Best rental and return experience. I have been using this location for the last three years to pick up and drop off vehicles. Best staff and manager is exceptional. Will ALWAYS go here if cars are available!

I just asked to use their restroom since I had waited 30 mins for a Walmart pickup and they asked if I was there for a pickup. I said no & they said I couldn't use their restroom.

Reserved car showed up and they didn’t have the car. Then they proceeded to ask for additional deposit for another over twice as much as the original car rental. Awful service

I love working with Kay and her staff. She knows and understands the needs of my team and I. She always tries to accommodate and tries to be as flexible as possible.

Avis is clearly a customer focused operation. They may be smaller than some of the larger chains but their service, pricing and attitude is much better Much better.

Woman at front desk was rude and had no manners. As people who are paying to use her service we were treated very poorly. I regret spending my money here.
