Horrible company to be avoided at all costs The review is motivated by personal experience which I will describe. I took my car for body repairs to a shop recommended to me by AVIVA. The repairs took 5 days and I was satisfied with their quality. Upon picking up the car I realized that my panoramic sunroof does not close at all. I immediately informed CARSTAR (the body shop) and brought the car back to them the following Monday. They managed to close the sunroof but broke tracking mechanism resulting in horrible rattle (this type of sunroof is known to shatter as it is made of tempered glass). I informed AVIVA of the damage and they conducted their 'investigation'. It can be proven that when I left the car the sunroof closed without a problem but within 1 hr of my picking up the car I could not close it from open position, Obvious deduction: either something happened to the sunroof on the way home (1 hr drive) or something happened during the 5 days the body shop had the car (and had to tape the sunroof for paint job, in spite of their earlier statements they 'did not touch it'). I know which scenario seems more likely to me. AVIVA concluded that because the body shop officially did not work on the sunroof THEY COULDN'T HAVE BEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE. So basically they took the side of the body shop based on the official itemized invoice. According to that logic, if I picked up the car with broken windshield, it couldn't have been broken in the shop because the shop did not list windshield as one of the items under repair. Absurd. All those events took place almost 6 weeks ago. As the result of their 'investigation' AVIVA advised me that I have an option of filing.....a new claim against the body shop for....'vandalism'. As much as I do not have best opinion of CARSTAR I do not believe for a second that their personnel engage in wanton, malicious destruction of property but because AVIVA did not have the will to defend my interests against the body shop they pushed me towards filing what I consider to be borderline false claim against CARSTAR. Nice. Some 4 weeks ago I provided AVIVA with the diagnosis from licensed mechanic and the cost estimate of repairs from the dealership. About 2 weeks ago when I filed the claim for 'vandalism', I was told that the estimates I submitted should be sufficient for appraiser. In two weeks I had no pro-active feedback until after many calls and emails (they don't pick up the phones at AVIVA) they told me that actually the appraiser has to see the car 'in person'. Two more weeks gone with me driving with loose rattling glass sunroof. This is where things stand now, I still do not know when this mythological 'appraiser' will see the car. To summarize, it has been almost 6 weeks (July 23rd) since the body shop broke my sunroof, AVIVA denied it against all common sense evidence and left me with no option but to file iffy claim for 'vandalism' which they have been dragging their feet in processing. Through the whole process multiple 'contacts' have been provided, none of which respond promptly to emails, never mind the calls (of dozens of calls to extension numbers provided I cannot recall one instance of someone picking up). I hope that the sunroof will be repaired by winter but I would not be surprised if AVIVA denies the existence of winter season in Canada.

Had insurance with these guys back in 2016, was involved in a multiple car collision to which the officer said was not my fault. Didn't hear much from the insurance company after and didn't drive for years. Fast forward to today I buy a new vehicle and find out these guys said the collision was MY fault and instantly my rates have sky rocketed.

Most folks don't have or like insurance. Let tell you...get covered. Life Home Car. You very well maybe surprised that with a claim free timespan, and blackout damages may be covered. Call/Email check them out. Hi Michelle in BC …

Messed up my insurance for 2 years and tried to charge me over a thousand dollars for them to un mess it up, hung up on me multiple times. Don't go with this company that has no clue how to organize a single filing cabinet
