It is with great pleasure that I write this review for Award Plus Plumbing. We enlisted their services for a dishwasher and kitchen faucet installation and more recently a plumbing related leak. Here are the reasons why one should hire Alex and his team: 1. Alex was diligent in answering his calls, thus, scheduling an appointment was easy. 2. Alex has both an Engineering background and is a Master Plumber, as such, he was able to explain how he would solve our issues accurately and with a clear concise plan 3. He was prepared with the appropriate tools/ plumbing parts and was beyond proficient in his ability to solve any plumbing related issue he faced 4. Unlike other companies, he did not turn away work because of how far he had to travel. 5. They care about their customers. This was exemplified by the service they provided me during the COVID-19 lockdown. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I enlisted Award Plus Plumbing to repair a leak from a corroded drain pipe. Alex quickly sent out his team member Will. Prior to entering my home and without prompting, Will sanitized his hands, put on a new 3M N95 Mask, re-sanitized his hands, put on gloves, put on goggles, and re-sanitized his gloves. He also sterilized his tools and equipment with Lysol. His actions instantly put us at ease. He cared about our safety! Will took his time and provided excellent workmanship. He changed the whole vanity drain pipe and made sure the cabinet was protected during the soldering process. He installed a beautiful new pop-up drain stopper. Once the repair was completed he checked our washroom faucet and even changed our aerator to ensure better water flow. Before leaving he asked how our dishwasher and kitchen faucet were functioning and whether we had any issues to address. He is a true professional and truly cares about his customers. With a slow-draining bathtub and what looked like corrosion of the pipes beneath my basin, I needed help! But I was a little hesitant about the referrals I’d gathered. I declined the recommendations of my property manager, a good friend and two HomeStars companies and was happy and relieved when I went, instead, with my gut and selected Award Plus: Plumbing & Drains. Responding to my emailed request with a sense of humour and a great deal of knowledge about the business, Alex was able to offer an initial assessment over the phone and to suggest a solution for me. On the day of my appointment, Will arrived promptly and did a terrific job with the drain in my tub. He then polished off the corrosion that was visible on my basin pipes (at no charge) and confirmed Alex’s assessment that that the rust was on the outer surface only. For now, there was no need to replace the pipes. He was kind enough to recommend alternative stoppers for my drains and to even tell me about the DIY workshops offered by a local hardware store when I mentioned a small job I wanted to do myself. Prompt, kind, detailed and efficient service - and all at a price less than was originally quoted! I’m so glad that I spotted the Award Plus van with its turquoise and black banner as it passed me on the street one day! Thank you, Will and Alex!

I finally found the BEST PLUMBING service provider ever. Alex was in and out in a jiffy with a job completed 100% on point. With his background knowledge of the trades it was a learning experience to just chat with him. The posi-temp cartridge in the tub was stuck and he was able to get it out and replace it. After the job was done, it was unbelievable see the shower handle operate with one finger. The internal toilet leak had cost us 100s of dollars and he replaced the cheaper plastic fittings with the quality brass ones. Although his prices were high, but after seeing his work and the quality of the materials he uses, the price was justified. Moreover he said he guarantees his work for 6 months. I'd highly recommend Alex from AwardPlus Plumbing and Drains for all your plumbing needs. There is nothing you cannot do or try to do but if you need to get a job done, leave it to the expert - Alex.

These guys were amazing. I will be honest ever since I have seen marketplace on CBC, I have been extra cautious when hiring someone to fix issues around the house. However, these guys are really good. Will came to the house on time, fixed the toilet and did through testing. He answered all my questions and cleaned up everything before he left. Super considerate during COVID, had his masks on and did paperless transaction. They were also affordable option. One thing I really liked was the night before they were supposed to come in, the owner asked to send pictures to do an assessment of what was going on. Which I really appreciated. They did the job with the quote they have given me and had no extra charge. If you want to hire someone who is licensed and professional, go with these guys.

We had a water supply pipe disconnect from a joint over the weekend and called around to a number of plumbers to come fix it. We settled on Alex because he immediately understood what the issue was and how to fix it, quoted us a reasonable price, and promised he would come the same day. He did everything he said he would and was efficient and polite. The next day we unfortunately had another plumbing issue completely unrelated to first and we called Alex again. He was at our place within a few hours and took care of it. We would not hesitate to recommend Alex to anyone looking for a good plumber at a reasonable rate. We hope we do not have any more plumbing issues, but we know who we will call if we do!!

After soliciting more than a few quotes to repair a leaking shower, I chose to work with Alex and Award Plus. He was prompt and communicative through the process, and patient in explaining the steps needed to repair my leaking shower. He arrived on time with the parts needed, repaired everything within an hour, and even gave tips on how to extend the life of the new parts he installed. As a first time homeowner, you always hope to meet a professional with whom you can build a long-term service relationship, and I will certainly book this company again for my future plumbing needs.

We had a random leak near our bathroom around 4pm last Thursday. Will came highly recommended so we gave him a call. He was clearly busy but came at 7pm. He was so kind and professional, and explained exactly what he was looking for. He was able to locate the leak and confirm it was not coming from the pipes, but the roof, as we suspected. Even though I am still dealing with the leak, which is causing me a lot of stress, I know I have a reliable, kind plumber for any future issues. Silver linings people.

Hired Award Plus Plumbing to diagnose and correct an issue where hot water would run out after a very short time. Alex responded immediately and offered a few suggestions over the phone before any visit. When it was determined that the issue would be challenging, Alex was thorough in his investigation and concluded that several issues were having an effect at once. Parts were then ordered and replaced efficiently, which has completely resolved the issue - no more cold showers!

We used Alex from Award Plus Plumbing last month Our upstairs toilet was leaking into our basement ceiling. Alex came to our rescue. Alex was responsive, on time, professional, thoroughly investigated and explained the issue in detail and then fixed it. He was wonderful to meet and we would most definitely use Alex again and recommend his services. Wonderful gentleman and professional and expert plumber! I've used Alex of Award Plus for a number of repairs and upgrades over the past few years and I would definitely recommend this company. Alex showed up when he said he would. He diagnosed the problem with our kitchen drain back-up and fixed it. He gave us tips to help us resolve this problem from happening again. I hired Award Plus Plumbing to fix a leaky shower handle. Will was professional, punctual and honest. I was in need of having a burst pipe repaired and Alex was incredibly helpful and prompt to make sure it got taken care of as soon as possible. I had Alex replace 2 drains in my apartment to bring them up to fire code. Very professional, Impeccable work, Very clean, On time, I could go on... Called Alex today to fix the basement laundry room faucet in my mother-in-law's house. Said that he would be there between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM and showed up at 12:45 PM and had replaced the faucet in hardly any time at all. Very professional and sociable. Would not hesitate to use him again.
