Baggot Street Wines was awarded ‘National Off-Licence of the Year 2016’ and being a regular visitor I can understand why. They have an excellent selection of wines and it is where I go if I am planning to give wine as a present. As the majority of my followers are based outside Ireland it may be necessary to explain what an Off-Licence actually is. Off-licence is a term used in Ireland, the United Kingdom and New Zealand for a shop licensed to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption off the premises, as opposed to a bar or public house which is licensed for consumption at the point of sale (on-licence). The term also applies to the licence granted to the establishment itself. Off-licences typically are specialist shops, convenience stores, parts of supermarkets, or attached to bars and pubs. Prices are usually substantially lower than in bars or pubs.

Gorgeous wine boutique in a lovely, central location! Love the diversity and variety of wines ordered and now clearly everything is laid out. Such a good selection - perfect for picking up a bottle of something as a treat/gift/for a special occasion but equally good for finding a reasonably priced wine that you know will be of very good quality.

Great selections of wines from all over the world in a good price. You will be able to buy 9 EUR or a Grand Cru for 500 EUR. Besides the variety, they also have a Wine Bar called The Cavern where you can BYOB the wine you bought in the store.

What a place! All great Irish alcohol in one place! We started to pick some local beers and only with a help of friendly staff we managed to do it properly. I am very fond of Kinnegar farmhouse beer. Guiness is #1 anyway. Love this place!

Amazing selection of craft beer and wine. There's also special craft beers on tap that you can take home in reusable growlers. There's also ittle rewards for purchases (free glasses and a card for collecting points).

Went in to find a specific well-known red wine. Was rudely told that they do not stock it. I then asked them to recommend one similar. To which they, again rudely, said that I should just try tesco.

They have great collection of wines, beers and other alcohols. The staffs are very friendly and have a good knowledge of the products they sell and happy to answer any questions you have on them.
