A real shame. We dined at this restaurant a couple of months after they opened, and everything was terrific. They've dropped the ball the second time around and are trying to cut corners and maximise revenue over diner experience and faith in their customers. We expressed concern over undercooked chicken and watched the wait staff laugh over our comment with the cook in plain sight. Then came the silent treatment; our table was ignored until we begged the wait staff so we could pay for our meal. A message to the owner(s). Sometimes, you might think people are on the hunt for a discount; I get that 100%. We happily paid for the entire meal without any fuss; I guess we were looking for some acknowledgement of our concern, and it's a real shame we got nothing. Hopefully, you will have more long term success than the other six restaurateurs that have come before you in this location over the last 20 years.

While the service was great and enjoyed the food unfortunately as locals we won’t be going back. If I am going to pay fine dining pricing on food you would expect to leave feeling full (my partner and I aren’t even big eaters!) we spent $100 on food and left hungry :( we were also seated on stools at a bar which again would be fine if the pricing reflected a casual bar. $5.50 for one oyster and $8 for one king prawn is a bit unreasonable. Such a shame as we were excited to have a new regular favourite. All the best for the restaurant!

Highly recommend Bar Elvina. We came on a Friday lunch time. Not busy at all so we had 3 different servers looking after us always checking in but not in an annoying way, super friendly people, asking about our day, also helpful with food recommendations. The decor gorgeous. The terrace even though it was hot, was a lovely spot. Ideal with covid to be in such an open area. The food was unbelievable so impressed. The drinks menu was long and diverse. Cocktails on point. Short cocktail menu means they must have each one knuckled down.

The rudest ever lady served us just absolutely disgusting attitude. Gave my wife a earful because she didn’t hear her ask if she would like water and then when another one of our guests was served off wine which even the bar man agreed was off. She came storming over and just went off her head at us. Never have any of us experienced such hostile and rude behaviour in a bar or restaurant ever and to make things even worse they demanded payment for the wine that was off.

The absolute cutest vibe and atmosphere. The staff are all very pleasant and friendly. The interior is gorgeous, coastal and light and the outside balcony is so open and lovely. The food is all delicious, especially the carrots, sashimi, prawns and lamb shoulder. At one point there was a cockatoo swinging around a sign and all the guests stopped to watch and laugh. It was such a warm atmosphere and a gorgeous place to eat. It also had an extensive wine list with descriptions of the wines.

Despite arriving on time for our booking, they still charged my credit card for a cancelled booking. After trying to reach them on the night by phone, mobile and email, and again for two days afterwards, the first response received is an anonymous text that blames me for an incorrect credit card, which makes no sense at all! And no apology! Food delicious. Service sucks.

Outstanding meal from start to finish. Sophia was a superb host, warm, knowledgeable & attentive. We brought our 8 week old boy & nearly 4 year old girl. Dining early from 5pm with a young family we felt welcomed, nice in a “fancier” style restaurant, & also happy hour beer prices . Grilled prawns were to die for, salmon tartare too. Flank steak with Chimmichuri & Swordfish as Market Fish… yum . Congrats on a wonderful neighborhood gem

Pros: Nice touches of decor, portion and price seemed reasonable. Cons: All the dishes tasted average - not as we had anticipated. Service was also extremely slow for a day which didn't seem busy. There are places where you can get a balance of decor + food, however this place really missed the essence of a tasteful dining experience. Otherwise, good atmosphere if you're just popping by for a drink.

The food, wine, cocktails, service and ambience are all perfect. We have dined her many times and love it! We've also enjoyed the takeaway option during lockdown and the food is still absolutely delicious! Must try the octopus, the Yamba prawns, the lamb, the gnocchi and the broccoli! Oh and the potatoes and Brussel sprouts! Pretty much the entire menu is amazing!

We ate here on Saturday as a local family of 4! What an asset to Avalon Bar Elvina is! It was FANTASTIC! Great food (huge portions!) grest tunes, a positive atmosphere and a really helpful, attentive new French waiter/Restaurant Manager who was really exceptional at his job. Definitely recommend x

Where to start!. Bar Elvina is a all time favourite! On arrival you are always greeted with big smiles and a welcoming vibe from the amazing staff. The food is always so fresh and tasty and visually stunning! Bar Elvina is a must if your cruising the streets of Av with a empty stomach or in need of that ice cold cocktail on a hot day. Highly recommend

Yesterday night I had dinner with my girlfriend in bar Elvina, were I found a really nice atmosphere and vibes. Good suggestions and lovely manager/waitress. The Bartender gave us a complimentary tasty sweet wine for the anniversary. I’d like to come back.

I cannot fault bar Elvina, and will recommend it to everyone I know!! My partner and I go there very often for drinks and snacks and it’s by far our favourite place. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. A creative and clever menu and the most addictive fries and negronis ever. Thanks team!!

Take a trip to Formentera in Avalon! We were so impressed. Stunning fit out, every mouthful is a flavour bomb and a beautifully thought out menu with wines from exotic seaside locations and even some local foraging. We loved loved loved Bar Elvina - will be our summer go-to.

A bit expensive but interesting menu, good service and a chilled out feel. Hope it survives longer than most bars in avalon as its a nice place. Very easy to miss the entrance unless you're looking for it, so perhaps missing some casual diners looking for somewhere to eat?

All we wanted was a meal out with friends. We couldn't hear each other talk! THE MUSIC IS TOO LOUD. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM Never again.

Fantastic venue and great menu. Service was very slow and not to a professional standard. Great drinks menu too and outdoor space, but poor acoustics inside. Agree with the order reviews that the pricing is on the expensive side. The food is amazing though.

Loved this place! Didn’t have a reservation so we got seated at the bar… everything was perfect, the waiters were lovely (even spoke a bit of French, my native tongue!). Looking forward to going back next time I’m in Avalon for Christmas …

Excellent service and food at Bar Elvina. As a frequent diner, consistency is key and each time we dine it is a lovely experience. The drinks are perfect too. Mussel night on a Wednesday would have to be my fav. Keep up the great work guys!

This place was a standout. From the friendly and attentive service, to the sublime cocktails and food, I cannot speak highly enough of of the place. Shoulder of lamb and king prawns were particularly special.
