"If you can't find a book they can order it"
I just want to say WOW! I was in this store back in April. My daughter and I bought an obscene amount of books. I had to order one by mail, because it wasn't in stock. Today, I opened the package and I received the wrong book. I got on the B&N chat and they sent me a return label to return the wrong book and are expediting my correct book. A couple hours later, I decided to keep the wrong book but still wanted my original book. Chat was unable to accommodate me. That's ok. I wasn't upset about it. But I decided to give the store a call and see what could be done. Here is where my "WOW FACTOR" comes in. I spoke with the wonderful lady that I had interacted with at the store! She remembered me and my daughter. We had discussed our mutual love of Gone With the Wind (I had originally ordered Scarlett) and the Royal family. Not only did she make sure the order was correct in the end, with keeping BOTH books because I had changed my mind, she thanked me for having a good sense of humor and a great attitude about the whole mix-up. She even let me purchase the incorrect book over the phone. Victoria - YOU are a gem! A very rare find in this day and age and I will happily discuss books with you again - ANYTIME! Coffee is on me! :)
I don't know how to rate this place anymore. I use to visit this place all the time as a kid/teen/adult to read and buy books. Now, I come here to buy cheap toys and games on clearance. If you're going to buy books, it's cheaper on Amazon 95% of the time. I did buy a Rubix cube for $3 on clearance. I'm probably not going to renew my BN next year. They hide the clearance items in the back near all the vinyl records. Why they have so much floor space for vinyls is a secret for some genius working at BN but it does help hide the good deals. Why are they selling so many Toys? Trying to pull a ToysRUS strategy is my guess. I've seen the same Smithsonian toy on the shelf for at least 3 years in a row now.
4 STARS because they had a 'hard-to-find' book I've been seeking for a while! IT WOULD BE 3 STARS due to an inability to find an employee - the confusing layout with all study material scattered throughout the store. - mixing finance study material with financial self help and financial biography.. that's terrible. - I spent 15 minutes in the animated section seeking a book while 95% of them are on the walls in alphabetical order, there are a few in a different section entirely! With no signs or literature showing the way to the other 5%! I found some exam study guides in the back of the store while others were on the right and left sides.. VERY CONFUSING.
Updated review: I have to give a shout out to Crystal, who was an absolute boss working at the help kiosk. She gave amazing recommendations and made sure I left happy! She also may be my new B and N best friend. Thanks so much, Crystal, for being so awesome. Ah. Heaven. Usually when I come looking for a specific book, someone is always at the kiosk ready to help. When I needed to return a damaged vinyl, they actually took it back! It was out of tune on one side...manufacture defect. Another time I completely ruined a board game I had just opened. They took it back too!! Generally all nice people who just want to help you get what you need.
If you can't find a book they can order it. To me it's a beginner's book store. Great mix of classics and contemporary works. A section for tabletop games and puzzles. A great kids section. And if you go all the way in the back you can find mysic and movies. Sure it can be a bit pretentious, but don't let that fool you. Peruse at your leisure or ask for help. You will find some hidden gems at random moments and wonder if there is enough room on your shelf for every book you want. This is a place where you can get the whole family something to read and have a fun time. It's that simple.
We went to Barnes and Noble today to buy a birthday gift. It is a fabulous book store probably the best Barnes and Noble I have been to thus far. The variety of books is more than satisfactory. It has something for everyone. There is a games section that out does any Target or Walmart. They have the coolest Harry Potter section that includes backpacks, sorting hats, stuffed animals and naturally all of the books. There is nothing like holding a real book in one's hands. I wish it would have had more sales because I love bargains. They, also, have a cafe that carries Starbucks drinks.
Visited this Barnes & Noble for the first time while being a resident of Dallas,TX. We were instantly offered assistance by a very nice young lady in the Junior section. We ended up hanging out just allowing my little Glam baby to pretend to read several books at the table to us as we allowed this little almost two year old to mimic what ways we tend to read to her at home. She enjoyed herself and so did we. Thanks Barnes & Nobles for not having to file bankruptcy like a number of major Christian Book stores and others Book stores did during Covid and afterwards.
Yes, book stores still exist. Oddly I don't go here for books. I swing by this place for records and board games. The staff is insanely helpful. Recently I stopped by for a card game the internet says they had. I couldn't find the game. They said it was a "last chance" item from nearly three months ago. Meaning it was unlikely it was there. As I was walking out they stopped me and said they found it. This was after I made another look through after I spoke with them. A great place. I never leave empty handed wherever I stop in here.
If you're old school and still like to hold a book and manually turn pages, then this is the place for you. They've got plenty of books in here, from classics to new releases. If you're all about technology, they offer their digital reader called Nook too. Plus stationary, calendars, toys, and physical media. There's also a coffe shop if you like a cup of Joe as you dig your nose between the book cover trying to find out who the killer is. It's also a visually appealing store to shop.
Not much of a selection in Manga nor Graphic Novels, and the staff of women at the registers were more interested in talking amongst themselves on why they're single, and none of them bothered to greet me as I walked thru the front door. Not once did they ask if there was anything they could help me with. Very poor customer service. I'm not coming back because the staff of the other stores in Lewisville, Highland Village, and Denton are much better at helping their customers.
This Barnes & Noble book store was my favorite book store in the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex and we moved away. We came back to this area to visit some friends and we wanted to stop in and visit our favorite book store. The outside was still very nice. We were greeted upon entering. The store was very clean and smelled fine. But when we started looking for ACT and SAT information they really didn’t have a lot to offer. And that really surprised us.
I guess this place has a decent selection. They have a pretty good children's section. I specifically was looking for Christian books that are theologically related, but it seems all they stock are books by apostate authors who are looking to make a buck off of gullible people who think they're Christians. You know, authors like Joel Osteen, Victoria Osteen, TD Jakes, and the like. There's a Starbucks inside, if that's your thing...
This Barnes and Noble location has excellent customer service. They took the time to research genres and titles without hurrying the customer. Other times I visited, they were able to place special orders. They did say the store will actually be hosting some author signings this year. Plenty of titles (new and classics) available for the discerning reader as well as for customers who want the latest fiction or non-fiction books.
There is only one comfortable chair in the whole store. Most of the seating is in the coffee shop. I saw people laying on the floor because there wasn't enough decent seating. Bathrooms were clean. Store was clean, bright, and well organized. The store has a Starbucks and is welcoming to people only there to drink coffee and work on their laptops. The books are expensive but that's expected and there is a good selection.
I was their at 8:30 trying to get in and out to buy a book for my vacation on 4th of July. And their doors were locked. They said they close at 9pm and it was 8:30 so I called no answer and I continued to call and still no answer. Then I knocked on the door the lady saw me and walked away. Like how u gonna say we close at 9pm but lock ur doors at 8:30. Very disappointed very rude and unprofessional for the business.
One of the nicest bookstores I have ever been in. Nirvana for bookworms! The selection of books is expansive, there are bargain galore and the folks at the info desk are very helpful. This is the perfect place to go Christmas shopping or birthday shopping. The Nook eBook reader is crackerjack too. The Cafe is a Starbucks Cafe, but the customer service in the cafe is always slower than molasses. Why?
BOOKS!! If you like to read this is the place for you. I honestly think that 65% of my Library has been purchased from this franchise (not necessarily this particular store). They also have a small selection of Toys and Collectables. Some even have a coffee shop attached. The only issue I ever have at this place is figuring out which books I want to purchase and staying within my budget.
Despite the fact that they don't have "wheelchair friendly" entryways(i.e. a big blue button that triggers the automatic door) on the inside there is plenty of room to move around without bumping into anything or anyone. The staff was quite helpful(due to my wheelchair) in finding books for me rather than just sending me off in a certain direction; and for that I am truly grateful
I LOVE this store! I went in to find the Board game "Clue" - The Original Version - And a wonderful woman who worked there could see I was looking and looking ( All the new versions everywhere and just wanted the classic ) this woman made it her mission to find me the original Clue Game . Thank you! Can't wait to finally play it with my daughter who loves the movie .
Have you ever been to a bookstore? Have you ever been to a Barnes and noble? Fantastic. Then you know exactly what you are getting. It's a bookstore. If you have been in one Barnes and noble then you have been in most Barnes and noble. The layout is probably different but unless you have something wrong upstairs it shouldn't be hard to navigate. I was satisfied, 10/10
It was charmingly peaceful, it's too bad I only have this one picture. I'll take more next time Just to let you know though, the have a decent manga collection. I was suprised there was a manga based on a browser game I played (hence the pic I took to show my friend) But besides that the atmosphere at b&n is unsurprisingly relaxing. 10/10 would spend hours there
Wife and I love browsing Barnes and Noble. It is relaxing and enjoyable. The selection is good. We do a lot of gift shopping here for birthdays and holidays. Books of all sorts and other nice, fun goodies(games, puzzles, journals, etc). The cafe is convenient and you can sometimes get coupons or deals after checking out at the BN checkout (on receipt).
Is it just me, or are bookstores the best place to lose a couple hours!?! I always find what I'm looking for, and then a journal, a set of pens, oh gotta have that awesome magnet, and I heard about this book... I call it the "might as well" disease and I always get it here!! I can't help spending $100 minimum, every single time... and I love it!!!
This location hosted an Iron Flame release event and I was so impressed by the entire staff. Despite working extra hours they were all so kind and excited to be hosting the event. A HUGE shout out to Michelle for going above and beyond when we called the store with a few questions. Huge kudos to this B&N location!!
Great bookstore! Huge selection of book for all readers. Very cute kids area with a little reading nook and play train table to entertain the little ones while you look. Fun toy section with educational and fun gifts for all ages. Best of all is the Starbucks cafe. I could spend hours here and so could my kids.
I like hiw everything is displayed. My favorite part is of course the Starbucks. They had a book up on display that you could own for 5 bucks instead of the original price. It looked amazing so I bought it. Checked manga and comic books and was happy to see thing I want/recognize. People alway friendly.
I have shopped at B&N for years. My personal inventory is over 1,000 books - maybe 30% retail and 70% discount. But I am greatly disappointed with the lack of decent novels on the discount tables. I used to walk out with 3-7 books many times, now I rarely go unless I'm looking for something specific.
Great atmosphere to sit and study. They have a Starbucks and Free WiFi is available as well. Sometimes people will gather in groups and be less than considerate with their conversational volume. Staffers seem unwilling to correct them so don't be afraid to nip it in the bud politely yourself. …
It was pleasant, and I was able to browse through some books which were of interest to me. The staff greeted me at the door. People appeared to use the casual environment for various reasons. Since the location is also a coffee shop, some people even use it to conduct employment interviews.
I was walking around with my cousin, holding 1 & 2 of Solo leveling, when James (a worker) came over and asked if he could put a Buy 1 and get another 50% percent off sticker on the books I was going to get and i said that would be amazing and he was just so sweet and considerate about it
The store manager, Stephanie, did a PHENOMENAL job of fixing my premium membership after a disastrous experience I had with B&N customer service over the phone. Grateful for her and the other employees’ customer service, patience, and hospitality! Definitely will be returning!
I enjoy the selection of medical books, this store always seems to be well supplied with the books I need; I truly appreciate that on most evenings the on going chess battles give a needed recharge with the "anything is possible " vibe. Great for any all nighter cram fests.
Staff are very helpful and the vibe of the whole store is mellow. The people are friendly but if you want to be left alone you can read a few chapters of the huge selection of books. The manga section has a wide variety and I like the many lego sets that they carry.
This is a good bookstore. They have tons of books, as well as toys, games, e-readers and tablets. I like this location, and the employees typically offer to help you find what you need. They also offer hot and cold drinks, food, and desserts in their cafe area. Yum!
Seem like a great store but my rating and experience is solely based on the the bathroom. Which is nice and clean and a great place to do your business. Loses 1 star because it's not a private bathroom but a public restroom so on occasion it can be kind of crowed.
PLEASE READ! I got caught biking home in the rain, for 20 minutes. Literally dripping and squeezing puddles out of my gloves, socks, and pants! The lady working at their Starbucks was so upset for me. She helped me clean up my puddles and offered me a free latte.
Sales folks are extremely helpful in finding books and holding them for 3 days. They'll check hardback, soft cover, and other stores to give all options available. I've never had more than 1-2 people ahead of me to check out so it's a quick in and out process!
Really enjoyed this B&N! Staff was very friendly! And when they found out that I'm a local children's book author they were more than happy to stock my book and are wanting me to come do a book signing here soon, which is really exciting! Will surely be back!
I've loved this place for years! Professional and knowledgeable staff, great author events and a great selection. Put it this way: In my Wordsworth days, some of us would be in the used book section on our breaks. Yeah. That's how great the Barnes & Noble is.
Sales associate gave me misleading information in regards to a sales ending date. I felt he just made up the answer, so when I purchased my item I asked him and he told me the correct dates. I verified that when I got home on their web page. He was young.
I love bookstores, and no chain has a larger selection than Barnes & Noble. Having a Starbucks inside to sit and read is one of the perks. Of course, if you've been to one B&A, you've been to them all. None of the individuality of a locally owned store.
Ample parking, good selection of product. On 3 occaisions, I have been to other stores that didn't have what I wanted in stock, even though they showed to. All 3 times this particular store wound up being the only one that actually had it in stock.
Ron who handles the DVD & Music CD & Vinyl Department is awesome, has many hard to find items. Best of all , Ron will go the extra mile to help you find what you are looking for or even introduce you to items that I ended up buying. Good job Ron!
B & N staff are always friendly and helpful. I was able to do almost all of my Christmas shopping at the Prestonwood Town Center location. They have a great selection of interesting books, toys and games without the chaos of Walmart or Target.
Went inside the Starbucks for a blueberry muffin while I read. Muffin was sooo dense and didn't have the sugar or crumble on top that the other Starbucks muffins have. Is this because it's inside B&N?? Even though it's an official Starbucks??
This my fun land lol I love me some Barnes & Noble. I used to take my daughter and son with me back in Cali when they were young and we would spend nearly the entire day there reading and always had a hard time trying to decide on 1 book
Excellent help for finding a book that they no longer have because it was on the bargain table. They looked hard for me even though there's not going to be much profit. They also looked at other stores and the other stores didn't have it
Very disappointed with B&N worker, Crystal. Many things are often misplaced on the clearance tables. So, I asked if she could tell what the price was of 2 items. She angrily huffed, acted as if I was inconveniencing her, and when another
I came here trying to find a specific vinyl and didn't find it. I did not like this Barnes and Nobles compared to other Barnes and Nobles that I have been to at Stonebriar or Firewheel mall. Those ones felt more vibrant and welcoming. I
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed talking to Crystal about the Stephen King options this store has; she was very helpful in picking the right book! Her knowledge about Stephen King was very impressive and we will definitely be returning
First let me say, growing up in NYC I'm used to a messy but well stocked bookstore. I had no trouble finding what i needed. When I arrived at the checkout the cashier informed me that there was a sale going on for the kind of book I was
It felt so great getting a paperback book after only listening to only audio books for years. The customer service was excellent and I love the coupon I received for Starbuck cafe. It’s cold and time for me to relax and read good books.
Customer service was great! Glorie went out of her way to help me call another store to put a book on hold that my daughter is searching for. She was very helpful and delivered 100% great customer service. Very happy with our visit.
I've loved Barnes and Noble for decades now, and this location is fantastic for all the usual reasons. Clean, with an easy to navigate layout. Friendly booksellers, warm and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommended for book lovers.
Too few bookstores remain. This one is huge and doesn't have that small shop charm... But it had lots of options... There's nothing like spending an hour or two searching for a book you didn't know you wanted to read.
Assistant Manager went out of her way to get me an something I forgot while we were there for the Prestonplayz and BriannaPlayz meet and greet! Everyone was super nice as well! 10/10 best customer service!
This place is always relaxing to go to, you can find some really good books in their discount book section Update: they have some good books 50% off right now! It's nice browsing their whole selection
It was amazing they had so many books that were eye opening and entertaining a bought a book concerning the Great philosophers of the Guilded age it's so interesting and fun to read
Pleasant staff, clean store, great selection, but I found NO MOTORCYCLE BOOKS OR MAGAZINES. Why no motorsport magazines or books. I wanted HONDA INFORMATION & GOT NONE, NADA, ZIP.
Superb customer service as I was looking for a specific book, the last copy. I was visiting from out of town, and the older lady at the front counter helped me find the book!
We came in to get puzzles, and they had an excellent selection by reputable brands, I was able a considerable selection that met my criteria thanks to a helpful staff member.
Great employees. Very welcoming and helpful. Great selection and a huge clearance section. Loved this Barnes and Noble much better than don't of the others I've been to
Girl with red hair and glasses was so rude we left. Ridiculous!! We then went to the Lewisville location where the employees were much nicer and more accommodating.
Well-stocked location, easy to browse and found plenty of books that interested us. Just wish there was more selection in terms of local guide books/outdoor guides.
A great equivalent of hardbacks available as well as paperbacks. I mostly searched for Manga and similar taste which there was plenty of. As well as the novelties.
The store is nice, but has only one stuffed armchair. Edit:. No more stuffed armchairs, and no philosophy section that I know of. Otherwise still pleasant.
Honestly, I was just surprised to see a Barnes & Noblr still in Business. I bought some aviation magazines. I think most people use it as a coffee shop.
Lovely environment, smiling sales force: well groomed, walked me to the section I asked about, had the book I went there for, priced appropriately.
Nice helpful staff. Myriad of books and they can order what they dont have in stock. Great place to study and read in the coffee bar.
Great variety of books and love how much manga they have! Great selection of games as well. Staff is always helpful and courteous!
Great store ! We were here for journals and they had so many options.. if you have kids , I think it's certainly worth a visit !
It's a nice store. Our checkout person was very nice and polite. Books are retail prices, so expect the numbers to reflect that.
A wonderful place. There are always people playing chess and doing homework at the cafe. Great way to spend an afternoon
Super friendly place, great place to get a coffee and book. When I get free time I know I can always find something here
Great experiance after so many years, coming back here was a good memory. The place is clean and great customer service
Decent selection of books. Employees were nice and gave me the heads up their promotions. Overall it was a nice store.
This place is always a heaven for book lovers and their organization just makes it a much more lovelier experience.
Went to get a Texas Monthly.Did not have the April edition yet. Will go back. Great place for any reading needs.
Great place. Clean and the staff were kind and courteous. The ambiance was perfect for studying and reading
I had been looking for magazines everywhere. I went to Barnes and Noble and found more than what I needed.
Clean store, very friendly employees and an overwhelming experience compared to small town book stores.
One of the coolest B&N around. Absolutely love their fantasy section, a ton of great stuff and games.
I always enjoy going to this Barnes and Noble. People always plesant and I always fine what I need.
Found the Harry Potter Lego set I've been looking for. Got some cool stuff behind the counter too.
Great bookstore, friendly staff!!! The Saturday morning story time for the kids is always fun!
Wonderful atmosphere. Smell of coffee is so soothing. Great book selection. Cool people too.
Nothing better than reading a book, and no place better than Barnes & Noble to buy one.
Great selection of books along with great customer service!Sbux caffè included as well!
I remember a time when Barnes and Noble had couches and chairs to give a book a check
Loved the cashier in long black dress Dark long hair, super nice friendly Helpful.
Went in for ONE magazine. Left with 3 magazines and 2 books! Love this place!!!
Good prices and tons of great stuff, not just books. Love the atmosphere!!!
Love this location!! Has a very nice selection of stationary and puzzles
Overpriced and the employees have no knowledge or reference experience.
Everyone was very helpful. The girl cashing me out was very kind.
Clean, and plenty of employees to help. Quiet, and well lit.
The variety of Christianity books had me amazed!
My daughter always needs books from here
