It is difficult to even give a score at all for what has become the worst emergency room in the world. I was born there when Baylor was Florence Nightingale. My daughter was born there. My grandkids were born there. What has become of that hospital emergency room is hard to understand. What used to be the most caring efficient well-run ER has become more like a third world country medical facility. The staff at the front desk are as rude and hate filled as I have ever seen anybody. I worked in the Dallas City Jail in the seventies and the lobby waiting room reminds me of a full moon Friday night in the jail. I went last night because I had gone to Forney ER the night before and had one of the worst experiences of my life. I did not think it could have gotten worse but it far outdid the horror picture in the ER the night before. After nearly passing out just going to the bathroom a few steps from my bed because my oxygen level keeps plummeting, I ended up traveling in an ambulance. The Dallas Fire Department were amazing. They came, they took me out of here and got me to the hospital as quickly as they could. I was thrown out in the lobby of hell called the waiting room. I understand they were busy but the standard of care is not being met and in fact is critically below what it should be. I was treated like a dog, talked to like I was bothering them by being there and injured several times by their so-called medical people. Out of all the people I met with, the kindness of them was a transport person named Ron. He was so incredibly awesome taking me to the place I needed to go and because I'm so disabled, he told them to call for him when I was done. He helped me up and down to get into the bed when the pain level was off the charts. I've been in pain management since 1996. The pain I was in it's the kind of pain I would have gone to the ER for just to be treated for that. Their idea of pain management was ordering me Tylenol. My blood sugar, blood pressure, oxygen level and pulse rate kept going up and down for days. It was the same in the hospital. Right before I was discharged my oxygen went down to 82. This went on and on and I could not get anyone to listen to me. I left both Forney and Baylor on Gaston Avenue having been injured by the medical staff in several areas and still with the same symptoms I went in for. I am so incredibly disappointed in what used to be the prime Hospital in this state. I wish I knew what to think or how to respond to the deterioration of such an amazing place before. If you are in trouble, I would suggest you utilize anywhere but Baylor downtown. You're taking your life in your own hands by trusting it to them. I spoke to a manager named Ronald and he was awesome. Somehow after having a meeting with him, a bed was amazingly found for me to go to. There was a doctor named Dr. Bird, a nurse named Allison and a young man named Jackson that tried to go out of their way to be kind and helpful. I will be finding out how to commend these few people that are an asset. The so-called supervisor at the front desk, a black female who has a black belt in smart aleck, needs to go work where it does not involve people. Especially people who are sick and injured. There was a little girl about seven sitting in the wheelchair and as these people from the front desk walked back and forth in front of her she was sobbing at times nearly hysterical with tears rolling down her face begging for somebody to help her. She had a broken arm and was sitting in that god-forsaken lobby waiting on care. As I left there was a man bent over sobbing. My heart broke for both of these two people. I plan on making a complaint to the medical board as soon as I get on my feet physically because I went home with the same problems I went to the ER for, Plus more caused by some of the so-called medical people in both er's. Baylor, what is going on that you would let your facility deteriorate so badly. My prayers are for the people who are sitting in the lobby waiting on somebody to help them.

Worst experience I ever had they put me in A waiting area in the back with 4 beds. My blood pressure was 209/110 when I got there. The Dr. Was extremely nice and concerning.. The nurse was rude. Also I thought it was patient confidentiality my personal information was getting told infront of the other patients in the room. And they information and issues was being told infront of me.Then to top it off a lady took a number 2 in the room on the floor intentionally. That caused me to gag and almost vomit I left out and sat in a chair in the hallway. After that I waited about 30 mins they just stated they was gone send me home nobody even check my vitals before I left. To be honest I would rather wait till a private room is available than to be put with different people in one room to already be feeling bad to experience what I experience tonight. I seen so many RN nurses come around to laugh and talk about what happened with the lady that clearly had a mental problem the 30 mins I was sitting in a chair by the nurse station instead of making sure the patient (me) needed anything. Cause my rn nurse told the patient billing lady I was gone and I was sitting right there . Because her attention was on telling everyone what the lady did. Soooooo disappointed

Heartbreaking and disappointing level of care. After brain surgery, the level of care necessary is sorely lacking, for my father. After being transferred from the ICU to the Truitt building on the 6th floor, the attentiveness of the "professional medical staff" is dismal. The sight of the surgery on my father's head was severely swollen, and we indicated that to every medical professional that visited; including but not limited, to physicians and nurses that saw him. They all either deferred to the next or referenced the surgical team. We insisted that someone from the surgical team examine him. They finally did a day after our concerns were communicated and we were assured that everything was typical. The next day, two days after our original concern was voiced, two doctors from the surgical team visited and immediately ordered a CT scan because they agreed with our assessment of his surgical site. His wound was, in fact, more swollen than expected. I'm currently awaiting the results of the scan and posting this in hopes that there is oversight that might care to make improvements to care.

I’m currently admitted to the hospital and the nurses are and techs are awesome! Now you have maybe one or two nurses that don’t listen or are not empathetic but the good out weighs the bad. The only issue I have is the food service or who ever is responsible for preparing the trays! This is the 5 th time they have sent me the wrong tray for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I have gone without eating breakfast and lunch because of this and just eat a sandwich for dinner. Then it’s a nonchalant attitude that it’s not right! I keep being told over and over they would fix it but here we are today and I’m not eating breakfast! My last meal was at 7 pm yesterday and I take insulin! This is unacceptable! I fill out the menus and they STILL send out the wrong stuff! If you come have your family bring you something if not you will be hungry! The nurses do offer other options like yogurt etc.but nothing they really can do

So disappointed in the service we received when my grandad passed away this morning. 4 Truett ICU do better , Nurse was Michelle and Tech was Rhetta. The room was a mess. They didn’t even have the decency to make it comforting, when the family came. That says the people who was providing care didn’t care. They’re just there for a paycheck. My mom literally had to straighten up everything in his room. Covers all over the floor. Sad. We know everyone will pass away one day, he was not presented to the family in a decent way. When family view him. The care was not there. He expired, they left hi and it was not suitable for us to see him. We unplugged his blood pressure cuff, took off EKG leads. It’s like when he expired they just cut the machine off and just walked out. Sad at this experience and the final care that my granddaddy received. Patient Care need to be better.

I just spent a week at Baylor/Gaston and was admitted for stomach issues and also breathing problems. The level of care and caring was awesome. It ran like a well oiled machine. I suspect that the hospital is under very strong leadership and it shows in happy employees. They kept me till confident I would be okay to return home. ALL the nurses and techs (the workhorses) were very kind, friendly and knowledgeable in their fields. The doctors spending time with me and showing they really cared instead of rushing off to perform another task as soon as possible.

This has been the absolute worst experience for us at a hospital ever. Still sitting in the lobby after 10 hours. Was attacked by some random crazy person in the lobby and when tried to press charges I was told she was issued a citation. Of course everyone but me was the same color. (Go figure that!!! )The nurses in the ER are rude and have no patience for anything anyone has to say. Really use to be one of the best places to come in an emergency. After today I wouldn’t bring my pet here

Went to the ICU and it was terrible as a medical professional I can tell they do not report malpractices about doctors or nurses. There are tons of HIPAA violations not get me stared on how they discriminate against marginalized groups and individuals. Hope people speak up. We need to do better Dallas. I was shock that since Dr. Christopher Duntsch nothing has change a bit.Why right? The medical board should be ashamed about places like this. Thank you for reading.

  • Niya Barnes

Doesn’t report malpractice, allows incompetent and risky procedures leading to patient disfigurement or even death. Will not report and Medical mistakes if not Required to do so by law. ***supported and facilitated the continuation of Medical Malpractice throughout the state of Texas by Dr. Chris Duntsch (Dr.Death) ** Failed to Report him even after a patient’s death (2012)

I just had to leave a positive review. We had the best care at Baylor ICU on Truett. Corrine is an amazing nurse. She has the best bedside manners, very kind, gentle and friendly. I’d come to this ICU anytime without a worry with more nurses like Corrine. Thank you so much Corrine. You’re a true hero.

BS&W Emergency what a joke! I took my 72 year old sister here because she was experiencing tightness in her chest and lightheadedness. We checked in around 11:00 am and told us to take a seat in the waiting area. Okay fine. Within a half

Awful experience with a rude parking agent who said his name was Zach and spoke with a heavy accent. Delayed providing help only to tell me that I was 1minute past the 20minute free parking window. He went on to say you snooze and the

I just want to thank everyone here for the amazing response and care you showed. Especially to Lisa B. in the emergency department. She did my sons cast amazingly. The whole visit was about 1 hour and a half. Thank you so much.

My daughter was recently seen here. She had to come to the emergency room because of complications with stage 4 endometriosis. While the nurse was doing her IV, she badly damaged her vein and a week later she has superficial

Went into the ER with a cut on my foot on a Sunday afternoon. They weren't busy. Got back into a room in minutes and was out of there in an hour...stitches, x-ray and tetanus shot. Was a great experience.

Dr. Bahirwani is a godsend to the Baylor Medical community. She is the most amazing person that we have ever had the opportunity to meet. The entire staff at Baylor was extremely helpful.

I'm so grateful for such a great team of doctors, nurses, technicians, and other staff. You treated my mom as though she was a VIP. I pray for all the staff for strength
