The party of 5 that I was with thought we got lucky because there was so many empty tables while the other restaurants around the area were busy. It didn't take long for us to realize that there was a reason why this place was empty. After 15 minutes of sitting, I had to grab a waiter to come to our table. We placed our drinks at that time, 4 of the five drinks were delivered in short order. So we placed our food order, after a while, 2 of our 5 food orders were delivered, those two were wrong (wrong fries). They did bring the correct fries in a few more minutes and we were told the rest of the food was coming. The two with food were able to finish their entire meal before we received the other 3 meals. The waiter came out a few times and promised the food would be there in 5 minutes max. 15 minutes later, he said it would just be a minute. Close to an hour after the first two meals were delivered, the rest of us received our food. I was amazed how it could take that long to deliver cold food. After we had eaten about half of our meal, the waiter came out and asked if there was anything else we needed. Well, we still were missing a Coke, so I asked for the manager. A lady showed up at our table, this lady did come by earlier to fill our water but had said nothing to us about our wait or anything at all. So I asked the water lady who was now standing by me if she was the manager, she said "Yes, that is why I am standing here". Now it all makes sense, bad management must be consistent here which leads to poor staff service. We explained our situation, she offered us a free round of drinks, which we declined, she did discount our ticket 50%. We didn't receive an apology either.
I used to be a regular at Beckett’s bar and grill until they switched things up, jacked up all the prices, weakened the drinks, decreased portion sizes, and hired disrespectful bartenders and wait staff. Our bill came out to $80 worth of undercooked chicken wings doused in what felt like a pound and a half of sugary sauce, soggy unsalted fries, weak flat beer, and a measly two packets of condiments for the table. Beckett’s used to be THE SPOT after pulling 12-14 hour shifts back to back on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Back when Barry was the bartender, Beckett’s was a gathering place post shift for my team and I. Always nice to see a friendly face behind the bar. Nowadays, it’s a different environment chock full of sarcasm, disrespect, and body odor. When I informed the waiter about the issue with my food, he coldly said there’s nothing he can do about it except for send out another order. By that time, I had already been there for an hour plus and started to feel a bit queasy after eating undercooked chicken. I just wanted to begin my long commute home. If you’re in the Financial District of Manhattan and are looking for a lively sports bar with strong drinks, fresh food, and hospitable wait staff, check out The Irish American Pub and Restaurant located at: 17 John Street New York, NY 10038

I stopped by Beckett's on Saturday November 8, 2014 for a quick crock of soup and a glass of red wine. The waitress and staff were very efficient getting my soup, wine and check in a quick response as I had requested. When I was half way through the French Onion soup I bit into something hard. After removing it from my mouth it was a decent size of a hard plastic that had sharp ridges. I was fortunate not to have cut myself. I immediately called over one of the staff and showed the piece of hard plastic in my soup. He took it and came back with a voided slip of my charge. He asked if I wanted another crock of French Onion soup. I asked him if it would be from the same pot. He looked at me as if why we would throw the soup out. He confirmed that it would be from the same pot. I had to decline his offer of a complimentary bowl of soup from the same pot. I don't think I will go back there knowing they continued to serve the soup from the same pot after a jagged piece of hard plastic was found in my crock of French Onion soup.
My family and I had an amazing late night dinner from here. We got back from doing all the touristy things and we were starving. Of course we Googled restaurants near us and a bbq place came up. We went there and the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes and we didn't want to be those people Lol. The bartender was kind enough to recommend going next door. We got there and ordered. The food was delicious and the service was even better. The bartender who sat us was kind, helpful and very friendly. He chatted with my boyfriend, made silly faces at my 1 year old and even made a special drink for my boyfriend. He made the experienceone of the very best. I would most certainly recommend this place to eat at or have a drink.
The service here is absolutely abysmal. First time here, bartender with the orange hair tie in her ponytail "served" is at the bar around 4:10PM. She repeatedly ignored us when asking for napkins to eat our mozzarella sticks with, our waters, and even overcharged us on our bill. To top of off,the bartender took our uneaten food and napkins without asking. I'm a 15 year bartender and for the first time in history I left a $0 tip. I don't even want to write anymore. This places doesn't even deserve any more energy. I implore you to never spend a dime in this place. This actually may be the worst service I've ever experienced in New York City. Congratulations Becketts, you actually excel at something.
Service was a bit slow and the restaurant feels and looks like a good candidate for one of shows on Food Network... "Restaurant Impossible"... Old furniture, not so clean tables and chairs... Torn seat covers.. Felt very uninviting. But then again this was the only bar playing the Blue Jays vs Texas Playoffs, so... Ordered the veggie burger, which was surprisingly good. Had a very nice flavor and was filling. My colleague ordered a veggie burger with salad on the side... He found a piece of chicken in the salad. He was not too pleased about it, and the staff was reasonable enough to take it off our check.
Overall, experience was eh. Service was bad, given the place was completely empty, waiting around for a glass of water just doesn’t make sense. Busser had to go find the waitress who was on her phone to tell her to get us a glass of water and take our order. Food was was fine. Waited 10 mins for them to change the channel to the game (again, the place was empty). Beer and wine are not priced on the menu. When we asked the waitress, she didn’t know the price either. If you’re looking for a mediocre sports pub, this is it. If you’re looking for an average serviced lunch or dinner, I do not recommend.
Beckett's has been a staple in the heart of the Financial District for over 20 years. The food is simply delicious. The chicken quesadilla was loaded with deliciousness! The wings were honey garlicky, finger licking awesomeness!. Our lovely waitstaff Breege, was a pure delight. When you stop by Beckett's, make sure to say hello Breege and Ronan. Let them know that Mstickleryourfoodie said hello! #bourbonsalmon #shrimppennaalavodka ##BBQsliders ##chickennachos #honeygarlicwings #redvelvetcake #tiramisu

So I'm here all week for the Bill Evans Soulgrass show and I've been moving around to see what seats have the best sound. Don't sit in the very front row. There are two sets of speakers and you miss them and end up hearing more of the stage volume instead of what's really intended for the house. Every other spot sounds really great, including the bar area. The back corner has a higher platform where you can really see well. Also, the burger is good option for dinner. It was surprisingly good and $16 is great compared to the prices of the other entrees.
I walked into Beckett's just wanting beer and wings for the game. instead what I got was bad beer in plastic cups, and no one who would take my food order. I asked three times if I could please order food. Unfortunately the service was bad because the staff was overworked (it wasn't that busy by the way), and the place itself was falling apart, with wood rot and leaking bathrooms. Find another sports bar for the game.

There was five in total in my party. Each ordered a different meal. We were all served together by a most pleasant Irish waitress who ensured we were all satisfied. Food presented well and tasted delicious.. nothing left on the plates(compliments to the chef!) We then each had a different dessert and again same as before.. wiped clean. Not overpriced. Multiple TV screens showing everything from sport to current news.. nothing too obtrusive. Very pleasant experience. Would go again and would heartily recommend it to others
My husband and I went to NYC for a short vacay, Went to the bar on 12/30 and met the bartender James. This dude is awesome! The best bartender we ever met! He treated us like family. We had so much fun we came back the next night for the New Year's eve party. James remembered us by name!! Introduced us to all of his friends and made my husband and I feel welcomed! James and Jessica made sure we were good all night. Their fantastic customer service is 1 of the reasons why we'll come back to NYC! A chill and nice spot!
Not my favorite on Stone Street. Very friendly waiters. Menu does not give you a lot of options: the grilled cajun chicken was perfectly cooked unfortunately submerged in the melted american cheese. The Pulled Pork Mac 'n' Cheese is intriguing, but I wasn't impressed by the the execution: I like the idea of using orecchiette for the pasta, but the pulled pork was more a sweet bbq sauce with some pork.

Dining outdoors was an excellent experience. The street is filled with tables from all the restaurants. Almost all the tables were taken around 6 pm, but it slowly became less crowded. The hanging lights made the street even more aesthetic, in addition to the stone street. This is a great choice to dine and spend time with close ones. It is a quick walk from the pier, which is another great place to stop by! Fulton.

Extremely disappointed with the service I got there the other day. Customer service is less professional for adults who “look young”. Would not cater to a very simple request that any other regular restaurant would have been fine with; as it was a simple request of canceling an order before it even got to our table (soon after we ordered it). Not to mention the service was quite slow already. Certainly not coming back there again.
I don't know how places like this survive in New York. This bar is so New Jersey, maybe because kids coming on the ferry to commute keep it alive. Beckett's doesn't try hard which is good because if they did they would fail. The food is awful (think Buffalo Wild Wings but without proprietary sauces) and the service is really poor. The only reason I have been in here more than once is because it's never packed during happy hour.
Absolutely awful A group of my friends and i came here on a saturday night after dinner for some casual drinks and the rude bartender immediately didn't want to serve anyone with a new york state ID. made absolutely no sense. Tried to speak to a manager but they werent there at the time. He easily just lost $1,000 in sales all because he suddenly felt like not serving to me and my group of friends all with NY ID's.
Last stop of our night and the bartender was absolutely rude and unprofessional. We were celebrating a birthday, and he was clearly annoyed that some In our group were drunk at 1:30 AM. He made the situation super awkward, we had one drink and left - never returning!! Ulysses was also open at that time and seemed like the better option in hind sight — too bad we stumbled in here!
We came after 11pm and still were able to order real food! We had one burger and it was super delicious, however, fish and chips wasn't good. I mean fries is perfect, but fish is flavorless and not crunchy at all. There is great choise of beer and barman was able to recomend some local IPA, so we end up loving the beer and the place! Will definitely come back here!!!
i preface by saying the staff is great so is the atmosphere. best music on stone street. but i had to pick my jaw up off of the ground when i got my tab for a friend and i. $99 dollars for 3 stellas, an old fashion and 2 Jameson shots and 2 greentea shots. I asked the bartender - shots are $11 a piece. absolutely skip over this place. it is highway robbery...
This place is amazing for the food and watching sports. BUT The service was absolutely awful. I'm not sure if it was just a bad day for the wait staff but we had to get up multiple times and ask for our food and drinks. The busboy was better off than the waitresses and we personally wanted to tip him and mind you the establishment wasn't even busy!
First off, the waitress was so sweet and helpful. I did not enjoy the chicken wrap (i am not a super fan of wraps anyway) but the sweet potato fries were great. my wife had the calamari and really liked it. Other entrees looked great. was a little pricey but it's NYC. Not knocking NYC because NYC kicks major rear end. Love this place. Go Cowboys!
I just left I sat at a table for 15 minutes and didn’t even get water and I went inside to see the hold up and the waitress from the beginning had a extremely bad attitude and rolled her eyes at me and then when I left and called to speak to the manager she answered the phone and refused to put him on the phone this is really bad service.
First ill start by saying Delicious shrimp scampi . Secondly the service is so friendly and gives me something to look forward to every time Adam is working . He makes my day every time we go there for lunch he's so positive and funny. Recently he informed us he will be leaving soon we are so upset and he will truly be missed.
We've watched March Madness games here a couple times and always get a very friendly Irish bartender. I like the hard cider they stock. It's canned but tastes fresh and not loaded w sulfites like Magners. The atmosphere is friendly and not tipped towards post-college shot pounders. A good intro to Stone Street fun. Recommend!
Evening Bartender was VERY unprofessional. Screamed at my friend for being a passionate sports fan. Friend was not bothering anybody. We kept amongst ourselves. Bouncer even apologized on the behalf of the bartender. Not a place we would go to for Sunday football. NEVER experience such awful service. Even anywhere else.
Good pub food, attentive service and an extensive selection of drinks. Lots of screens all over the place which I find distracting when you are having a conversation with other people but I realize that sports fans like this. The venue was able to accommodate a group of 11 people which is a plus.
Loved this bar, its a must visit when in the area. The staff were all so kind and helpful and it has a relaxed, upmarket feel. We had the bison sliders when we visited and they were amazing! The beer selection was vast and varied and the staff were very helpful when it camed to making a choice.
Being close to work it's a convenient place to get a large group seated without a wait. That's because the place is never very full. That is because the food is not good. If you must go there I recommend you stick to the buffalo wings or maybe a burger. Don't go near the Irish food. Good luck.
Everything was nice except the food and pricing. The onion rings were OK but the Cesar salad with grilled shrimp was a big disappointment. It cost us $28! We visited this place again on May 2019, by mistake. Still, the service was below average and food was nothing to remember or return for.
Nice place for a drink, would definitely recommend for that. We had three of the bar appetizers (quesadillas, pretzel bites, and potato skins) which were all very underwhelming. If it wasn’t for the food, I’d rate this place higher. So again, go for the beer, stay away from the appetizers.
Love this place. We were staying close to this area and found it to be warm, the bartenders were on it, the ambiance was awesome. We went a couple of times late night and we were completely in awe if the Irish guys behind the bar that entertained us with stories and anecdotes.
We had a great Irish waiter, who came right from Dublin. I had no idea what to get cause everything looked good, but he led me to exactly what I was looking for. Great food and I left feeling extremely full and extremely satisfied. Prices are very reasonable as well. 11/10
Clueless wait staff, never around to take orders, mark the table, clear the table, refill water, drop the check and run the credit card.

Great place to watch a soccer game. Skip the downstairs tables and go upstairs. Prices are reasonable and service is super friendly. They have plenty of TVs all around. There is also an outside area where you can sit if you want to get away from the game atmosphere.

The food exceeded expectations! I came for dinner on a Thursday around the tail end of happy hour, was seated pretty quickly, and had good service. It's not my first choice on Stone Street, but definitely a great option that I'd go to again.
Pretty good lunch spot. Good chicken wrap. Good customer service. Limited menu. Plenty of alcoholic drinks. Quite pricey. Parking is a hassle. Outdoor dining.

Went hear to watch the Ireland rugby match. Nice atmosphere watching it and Guinness was good. Bar man from Dublin so good banter with him, came back again and some more beers and wings. If we had time is go back again.
I've been here a few times. The food is good--not great but good. Some dishes are slightly overcooked or undercooked, but nothing dangerous. The main drawback is that they always seem to take an hour to serve food.
We came for mid afternoon snack. We got the nachos to share. She got a sangaria, I got a beer. Reasonably priced. Great atmosphere and plenty of different food options to choose from. Ask for the late night menu.
Ok place but service sucked! Instead of worrying about the customers, the music seems to be more important. Probably won't be back.

The “Cheers” of New York. The bartenders may not be former star Red Sox pitchers, but their service is next to incredible. Always consistent and great staff. Beckett’s is my go-to spot in lower Manhattan.

My go to soccer bar below 14th Street. Love the staff. Food is average, but I go there for the soccer matches bc they put the sound on for Premier League, Champions League and Euros / World Cup.
Just went to see soccer games. You want wall to wall games? Go to Becketts. Only bad thing I saw ( just went for a game maybe missed it) only 1 bathroom per gender. Line backed up for men.
One of the worst burgers i've ever had. Service was dispicable. No wonder there was no wait while the surrounding restaurants had a 1 hour wait. Avoid at all costs unless you're desperate
great place friendly staff overall great experience in the past 2 years and I've been going. When are your bartenders named James totally rocks. If you're in the area make sure you visit
Came for brunch. Waited an eternity for our order only to receive overdone eggs benedict, missing the hollandaise sauce. Took them 10mins to get the sauce which came out cold and curdy.
Easily my favorite bar in the area. Best wings on Old Stone st and in my opinion the most consistent servers and bartenders on Old Stone st regardless what day of the week you show up.
Service took a little while, but it was busy. Breakfast not so great... could have done with bigger portions. Overall a good experience, but not on my list of must visits.
I genuinely think the tipping culture in the US has become so normalised that staff don't even care anymore about providing a good service and still just expect a tip.

Always got treated like family here. Some amazing memories with Alice and John running the bars. Great place to watch champions league soccer and play hooky from work
Great food, chill environment, definitely a great local's spot. The layout is great for an evening of watching sports and the bartenders are friendly and personable.

Horrible service... bartenders have this... stuck up ... "every guy is trying to hit on me" attitude... and its a major turn off. No wonder its always empty...

Very cool place in a very cool neighborhood. food was all right, not spectacular.... but a great place for football, beer and friends. Ill be around.....
Darn google would not allow me to give zero stars! Avoid! Weak owner and toxic bouncer that both abuse good staff and customers. Zero star rating!
Good albeit typical pub. They have an ok beer selection and the burgers are very good. Vibe is a little quiet but it's still a decent pub.
The friendliest bartenders on stone street. Thums up for James and Barry. BTW the food is pretty good. Love the wings and nachos grande
Nothing special here. A typical decorated sports bar with lots of TVs blasting football games on Sunday. Burger and beer were just ok.
Had a fabulous, fresh full lobster, baked potato and corn on the cob for only $19! Lindy at the bar was great and very friendly!
Very average pub. Service is hit or miss, food is what you’d expect, game day (NFL) environment is average for FiDi area.
The avocado toast for brunch was AMAZING!!!! Not to mention washing it down with a great tasting sangria!!! Great place!
Very nice guy Barry the bartender, had a nice burger and french fries! Would definitely come back if I had the chance!!
Don’t waist your time. Service absolutely sucks. Food is okay. There are a lot better places to go to then this place.
One of the good Bar & Grill for a office party or to hangout with friends. Excellent service and food and quick bites.
Great atmosphere. Bar food was delicious. Friendly staff. Want to watch a game in a chill environment, come on by.
Good layout with many HD sports screens. Had pork chop and buffalo chicken wings, both fantastic and good value.
Really good friendly staff, cool music and interior, but nothing special about the food, it could be better!
Workers are amazing and always with the will to help!

Pro: good seating area outside to enjoy the city. Con: Slow and poor service. Mediocre food and overpriced.
Friendly neighborhood spot. The steak sandwich with onion soup and a pint of Guinness Stout was quite good.
Absolutely loved this place! Bartender was a British man. He was beyond awesome! Drinks & food were great!
Great Soccer Bar! Go to place for all soccer games and staffs are super friendly. The food is just average
Great pub to grab a drink at, staff very friendly and selection covers all the basics + higher end stuff
Duuuuuuude. I didn’t even know I liked UFC until I came to Beckett’s. Best place EVER to watch it!!!
This place has great music food and awesome bartenders. Love Alice. She like the yoda of bartenders.
Great spot to watch a match. Service always good Could use a little more variety in their apps menu
Went in with a couple of friends, the bartender James was an excellent host. We will be back again.
Amazing mozzarella sticks, best I've had. $36 for 4 pints stung a bit. Though they went down well
I fell in love with the Cali burger and sweet potato fries. Delish! Nice atmosphere for everyone.
Euro cup final crazy service but the wings and calamari were on point. Forza Azzurri!!! …
Drink was good. Appetizers was so/so. Nacho toppings fell off. Lots of layers of just chips
Had the buffalo chicken sandwich and the Korean BBQ steak sandwich. Everything was great.
Buy a pitcher Spin the wheel. Thousands of prizes to choose from. Well a free pitcher
Recommended the Buffalo chicken sandwich and was amazing. Great service. Must visit.
James is the best Bartender super hot. Amazing place to watch UFC and all sports!!
We had a great time with Afsana, and she even helped us find a missing umbrella!
Stopped here for dinner. Had the haddock fish and chips. It was good, not great.
Surcharge for plastic! Multiple TV for NFL. Wine pricey for a pub. …
great food and really kind and nice servers! everything here's amazing.
