I first used Bellhop to unload our truck about 2 years ago and had a good experience. But my experience this past weekend has been nothing but stressful. The movers arrived 2 hours after the arrival window of an hour. There was a miscommunication about the type of place (I found out that they were told a 1 bedroom apartment, and we have a 3 bedroom house with a full garage gym and patio furniture) and the full extent of what we needed done (load a truck, drive to new place at 50 miles away, and unload). The quote severely underestimated the actual time it took for the movers to load everything and for the drive. I was quoted for 4 hours, but it actually took them 9 hours - and they didn't even get all of our items in that time. The icing on the cake was that the items that were left were the bulkiest and heaviest things (including but not limited to: chest freezers, work out benches, patio furniture, bed frames, dining room table, outdoor BBQ grille, weights, etc) and couldn't be moved in a standard van/jeep with 1 person (we have no childcare so we only have 1 person able to move things at a time, hence the hiring of movers). We had to hire another moving company to come out within 2 days of the original move date, which was the last day of our lease. Bellhop couldn't get anyone else there until almost a week after the original move date which would be after our lease was up, and took almost an entire day for them to check on this and to tell me that they couldn't fulfill our move completely in the time needed. The hours of waiting, being on the phone, trying to find (and pay) another moving company, and taking an entire day out of my work week to manage something that should have been completed over the weekend, and not impacted my work, has been stressful and costly to us. Nonetheless, I (and my family) have been without our real beds for an extra 3 days. The second set of movers were on time, in time and on budget, and very efficient. They even moved the items in our destination house because we needed the help. The first set of movers were running so behind we had them put everything in the garage so they didn't waste any more time than they already did, in addition to it being 1:00AM with a sleeping child and dogs that were barking. The three young men who did show up eventually were kind and sincere. But they were not efficient or fast. During the actual move, they spent a lot of time rewrapping everything we had already wrapped, and were not efficient with packing or time. One of our boxes of decor had fallen and broken some items (which of course they aren't liable for because the items weren't properly packed in the box, because its seasonal decor). In addition, they hadn't accounted for driving to full distance I had put in my dashboard, so had to stop for gas, and drove slowly. They showed up 45 minutes after we arrived at the destination. Of course we were charged for that time too. Bellhop has also done nothing so far in terms of support to make me feel like the slew of issues were being taken care of, either during the calls, or after. I have been on hold with people on support for long amounts of time, once for over 45 min which was during our wait for the movers, when Bellhop couldn't get ahold of the movers and couldn't find a replacement. The second was over an hour and a half hold which was the day after, when I was trying to get them to send a second truck and team to finish the job, which they couldn't do. I was told I would get called back and never did, multiple times. My "case" has been sent to escalations and was told I would be contacted within 24-48 hrs which has yet to happen, even though it's been 2 days. I have no confidence that my billing issues will be dealt with in a timely and fair manner. What was supposed to be a day of excitement, and celebration of moving into our dream house became a disastrous nightmare, full of stress and anger due to miscommunication and poor management from Bellhop and their 3rd party movers.

As you can probably see Bellhop has pretty mixed reviews. I really wish I had trusted the negative ones. I am absolutely disgusted with this company on every level. My experience with Bellhop was very poor and can be summed up with the following: unethical and shady business practices, poorly trained and overworked staff, and below average customer service. Unethical business practices: Bellhop advertises they have "professional" and "highly trained" movers, which led me to believe I was hiring people who were full time, professional movers. Their staff is in fact mostly college students (which is noted on their BBB page) with little experience or training. This is a clear example of false advertising. It was clear the movers were not trained when one of them attempted to move a heavy marble table alone. When I suggested we disassemble the table, he again tried to do it on his own by shimmying and bending a fragile piece of marble. Of course it broke. Bellhop has a $ per weight policy for damaged items and tries to assume no liability for fragile items. This makes sense for things that might be moving around in the truck and get nicked, but BEWARE of using this service if your furniture is anything but IKEA. I believe my false advertising claim was supported when my reimbursement went from $60 to a few hundred dollars after making that argument. They know they're in the wrong. Poorly Trained Staff: the guys who handled my move were nice enough and I overall don't have issues with these individuals (aside from when I kept having to ask them to wear gloves and have their masks on during a major Covid spike), only the corporate office. I was on a tight schedule for my move, which was caused largely to Bellhop asking me to change my reservation multiple times and being up against another move in my building. The bellhop movers showed up over an hour late with no call or notice. I had to call corporate and wait on the phone for 15 minutes just to be told they didn't know what was going on. There's no communication process in place to warn or prevent this. The move started over 90 mins late and the movers were already exhausted, making the entire process also run long. (I was moving a tiny one bedroom that was fully packed). The movers spent the entire time complaining about how Bellhop overworks them and schedules moves back to back, making it impossible to stay on time. Poor customer service: I was quoted at about $700 for my move originally. After I was rescheduled on multiple times and my movers were late, two separate employees offered me a discount. I was pretty shocked when I received a bill for over $1500 - which included the over 90 mins I sat waiting for them because "one of the guys clocked in." Okay, fix those issues before sending a bill! I spent over an hour on the phone explaining my situation over and over. This was eventually resolved but there is a clear intent to scam customers out of as much money as possible because there's no internal audit process and it's solely on the customer to make sure they get a fair deal. Business is a two way street, my dudes. Bellhop's system looks modern and flashy, but don't let it fool you into thinking that means good service. Take the time to book a local and reputable moving service. I had a poor experience with every step of the process - I always try and give the benefit of the doubt but this is easily the worst company I've done business with.

I first used bellhop for my move last year and had a pretty good experience so it was an easy decision to use them again when it came time to move this year. This move has been the worst I’ve ever experienced and I’ve moved quite a few times. When the team arrived they didn’t seem to know anything about bellhop or its processes. I showed them the QR code they were supposed to scan to start my move and they had no idea what to do with it and didn’t end up scanning it at all. The team of 3 were polite but not exactly professional. In the past, as part of the deal of having a truck driver, he stayed down with the truck to make sure nothing was messed with. No one did that this time. One of the gentlemen was on the phone for over and hour while he wrapped and rewrapped my things very slowly. Again, they were nice but were not fast or efficient at all. It took them over 3 hours to empty my one bedroom apartment when they were supposed to do the whole move in 4. They then asked to take a lunch break, which I agreed to since they promised I wouldn’t be charged for that time but it has showed up on my account. They insisted on taking apart my dinning room table to move it and completely broke it in the process. It is unusable and I have to replace it. There are 2 other pieces of furniture that are broken and a piece of artwork that is missing. I can only assume it broke in the truck and they didn’t want to bring it up for me to see. Unfortunately I didn’t notice it was missing for a few days. Additionally it has been a slow and infuriating process to be reimbursed for my damage claims. I am only receiving $70. The broken table alone cost $370. No one has been quick to respond and they are not concerned with the cost of repair or replacement. It took 7 hours to move me 10 minutes down the road. The previous year it took 4 to move me 45 minutes away. I am still waiting to hear if I will be charged for the extra time. Moving is stressful to begin with and this experience only added to that.

Bellhop Ripoff! My advice to you is to ABSOLUTELY NEVER use Bellhop Moving! I hired them to move me on September 4 , 2021 and the entire experience was and continues to be horrible and frustrating. The day began promising , when the Moving truck arrived at the scheduled time. However, things took a quick about face when the Driver told me that his helpers would be showing up soon , but didn't arrive until an hour later. They then told me that they had forgotten to bring any plastic shrink wrap with them, so they needed to run out to get some ...A few of the crew then took off in search of the wrap and didn't return for about two hours , because they claimed that several of the stores that they went to were out of it . The so-called "supervisor" even suggested that I should maybe just reschedule the move to another date. I told him that that wasn't possible because I was selling the house and I needed to move now in order to get things done before my Closing . Unfortunately , the experience just went from bad to worse at that point . I'm not sure if it was because the crew was inexperienced or if they just didn't want to be there , but they just tossed all of my furniture and personal belongings haphazardly in to a pile in the back of their truck. There was no care or professionalism used at all . I'm not really sure why they even made the big production about the plastic wrap , because they barely even used it , which caused many of my things to get damaged . The worst damage that they did was to my sectional couch (that I bought brand new 2 years earlier for $2,500 and have kept in pristine condition). The managed to break the frame in a few areas , ripped the fabric in a few others and got grease and dirt on it in several areas. I filed a claim with their Corporate office and I received the response that they would offer me $90 for the damage . It's unacceptable , offensive and laughable and it should embarrass them to make such an offer.

Avoid. They charge crazy rates for simply outsourcing the job to randoms. Movers are extremely unprofessional. Kids that were moving my furniture didn't treat it seriously at all, dropping something was funny for them. And very SLOOOOOW, it took them about 6 hours for 1 bedroom move within literally 5 minute driving distance, with all furniture disassembled in advance, I'm not exaggerating. After they pack, everyone drives to unpacking location in their own vehicle, and you wait while they look for parking. Obviously, they take their time. You pay for that time. It was disgusting and infuriating, especially assuming how high the rate is. In my case it took 1 hour for a truck driver to drive 1 mile (just double checked in Google maps), seriously. He got lost in downtown. Nobody apologized, nobody offered refunds. One furniture piece was damaged, but honestly that was unavoidable with such attitude and "professionalism". If I had expensive furniture, I'd simply avoid this place like plague. If I had cheap furniture, then why bother with inflated rates either? I don't see why anyone would benefit from using Bellhop instead of trustworthy professional movers. I admit that you might get lucky and your movers can be better, but do you want to risk? To be fair, I was reimbursed for some (not all) time that I overpaid for due to slow movers and truck driver being lost somewhere for one hour. And for the damaged furniture, although the rates are laughable. Do I feel better? No. I lost plenty of personal time, nerves and brain cells. Seriously, how could a driver get lost in downtown for 1 hour?

Customer service was extremely poor and and I had to replace multiple damaged items out of my own pocket. I scheduled a move with Bellop because they allow scheduling last minute, and their website makes making appointments easy. Because the move was last minute, the website said they'd reach out to confirm it, which they never did. Because the move was last minute, and because I needed to adjust the time by a little, not getting confirmation was extremely problematic for me. After waiting a bit I ended up calling, and was told they'd call me back. They didn't call, so I called 3 more times, and never got a moving conformation. Eventually the people actually moving the boxes ended up calling the night before, and they were able to sort it out. Multiple items were damaged, and the amount offered by Bellop was far less than the cost of replacing the goods. How much they cover when something is damaged is on their website, so I could have realize it wasn't going to cover anything if I had read all of the fine print, but I don't think breaking my stuff and then offering my a very small fraction of what I need to replace it is moral. I asked them if there as anything they could do about the small amount they offered, and they said they'd look into it and get back to me. Like with my move confirmation, they never got back to me. They can keep the pittance they offered. I won't be using them again, and I'd advice anyone else to pick a mover with better damage coverage, and a more responsive support number.

DO NOT HIRE FOR LONG DISTANCE MOVES! Absolutely worst experience with Bellhop. Made a long distance move from Oregon to Washington and the moving truck was a no show for the move leaving me to reschedule my apartment move out, personal transportation, and time off. A local moving team, Trevor and Tyler, showed up on time, but had no information about what was going on. The local team had a great attitude and was the only positive in that situation. Trevor even showed up again the next day to help with the rescheduled move. After contacting the moving coordinators, they had no idea what to do and poorly communicated the situation. The scheduled mover at the other end wasn’t even told that I wasn’t going to make it. Through the process of rescheduling, I was challenged multiple times that I didn’t have a truck included in my full service long distance move package. Phone calls would be put on hold for long periods, texts responses would be hourly, and no one ever had any solutions to the issues. Final rescheduled move for the day after had a truck that showed up 1 hour late for pick up and 45 minutes late for drop off. Again local move-in team, Andrew and Charlie, was prompt and patient for the late truck. Even assembled my complicated bed frame. If only Bellhop HQ was better put together, it might have been a decent move. Instead I had 36 hours of unknowns and massive stress trying to move apartments.

Run, do not walk, away from Bellhop as quickly as you can. Booking Bellhop means you’ll be stranded the morning of your move with half as many movers as you need, a completely apathetic and unhelpful Bellhop support team, and be stuck booking a second set of movers on your own. I booked four movers through Bellhop and they sent two. I called and they told me there was supposed to be a third but “they didn’t show up”. They said they would refund me for that third mover, but ignored my repeated point that I paid for four movers and got two, so I should only pay for two movers. They said they would try to book additional movers for me before I needed to vacate my apartment, then ghosted me entirely. Then they charged me full price - the original quote for four movers. When I called to ask why, the support agent put me on hold for 5 minutes “to listen to the recording”, told me it was my fault they never got back to me because “I was unresponsive to their calls” (they never called), and said “someone should call me back in 24-48 hours. There’s a reason the only positive reviews of this company are from 2+ years ago - they laid off all their staff and are running on a skeleton crew who don’t care about customers. Find anyone else to do your move.

We booked this company to move our household, and the day of the move they called at the reservation start time to tell us that their driver had called in sick and they didn't have a truck to move us. They kept us on the hook for the next hour and half while they looked for a different driver and truck. During this time they came up with new reasons they couldn't do our move (unsafe working conditions... in a downtown apartment building's parking lot) and/or no parking space (again, there's a parking lot), which all went away as soon as we agreed to reschedule the move. So basically they abandoned us on our move date and came up with reasons after the fact why it was our fault they couldn't do it, but as soon as we agreed to reschedule all those reasons were moot. Needless to say, the minute we found an alternative, we cancelled. Edit: Oh, they're responded to this post faster than they responded to me. It's STILL my moving date... but here I am at my desk in my old apt. You guys should spend less on your marketing and more on your day-to-day business. Social media responses don't mean anything if you can't deliver.

If you are in the Seattle area - just don’t. Save yourself the heartache and go with someone else. The service from this company was outrageously bad. We planned a move with them across the country over two months in advance, signed a contract for four movers, two of whom should’ve been bellhop trained packers. Long story short- moving day came, and no one showed except the truck. The resulting patch-up job basically meant that the driver himself had to pack the truck (and eventually with a non-bellhop packer and his brother, who the subcontractor company eventually called in as a last resort) - for a total team of THREE - no trained lead packers present whatsoever. A number of high value items were broken, for which we WERE NOT reimbursed. We lost thousands (we estimate ~$3000) of dollars and went through so much unnecessary stress. We worked with the company, and although they expressed “concern” - we received little actual compensation. Save your time and money. Go with ANYONE else.

I had a horrific time with our move with Bellhops in Austin, Texas at the beginning of 2021 and have thousands of dollars of damaged furniture as a result of a lack of care taken with my furniture during the move. None of our furniture was wrapped even though we asked for it to be wrapped. When I reached out to the claims team, they offered me $380 even though the furniture they damaged was all brand new West Elm furniture which is far more valuable than that. The reason they could only offer me that much is because I went with the insurance they include rather than upgrading because I didn't think that the movers were going to be sliding our wooden table uncovered on the floor of the moving truck. Although this company advertises that they wrap your furniture and handle it with extreme care, if you make the foolish decision to move with them, I highly recommend you buy the higher protection insurance because your items will be damaged severely in the move.

This is the worst moving experience ever. I spent 1000 dollars moving from a 1b1b to another 1b1b. And the distance between the two places is just 15 mins drive. They didn’t work efficiently at all. It took them 4.5 hours to finish the work. Furthermore, the moving team not only broke my TV stand but also lost a leg of my bed frame. The worst part is they just do not take my call anymore and not even apologize for their fault. More than that, the customer service is horrible. I called them and let them know what happened. They didn’t apologize. They just said they would send me an email to file a claim at the end of the day. I asked to remove the broken bed frame from my place since it’s useless now. They want to charge me for their mistake. This is the worst experience ever. I don’t recommend their service to anyone. Unless you want broken furnitures and pay for other people’s mistake, go for them.

UPDATE: About the reply. I was only refunded some money(about the same as 1 hour moving fee) for my damaged furniture, nothing else was resolved. And I still won't recommend this service. Please try your best to avoid them. ================== I would suggest you find a real moving company instead of this service. They don't really move your home. They find some cheaper guys and out sourcing the service. The original estimation they gave is 2 hours which is less than my past several moves. But it actually took them 4 hours 20 mins. The moving guys seemed not knowing each other. They were paid only half of the price you paid the Bellhops. And several pieces of my furniture were broken and stained.

Total nightmare. The company overcharged my credit card and I am still trying to get the extra charges reversed. The 206 local number takes you to a national call center, not a Seattle office. The movers were booked the minimum 2 hours, but it was a small job so they were done in an hour. Yet 2 weeks after the move an extra charge for extra time showed up on my credit card. I learned the movers recorded they were there for 3 hours, 2 hours longer than they actually were, and Bellhop just charged my credit card the extra time without contacting me and so far have not reversed the charges. I have put in two requests through the call center to have the local office contact me and so far no one has.

My move could not have gone more smoothly. On a hot almost 90 degree day my team, lead by Aidan, and assisted by Samuel stuck it out got me moved quickly and carefully. They made sure all of my concerns were addressed and everything was exactly where I wanted it. Aidan helped disassemble and reassemble my bed and helped me decide on the layout for my new bedroom. I can't thank my team enough for their professionalism and kindness. Moving during a pandemic can be stressful but they were amazing. The team wore masks the entire time. I felt very comfortable with the move. Would recommend using them if you need to move!

Scheduled a week out. On day of, movers were a no show. Called them and they said they would get me an update. Waited an hour, never called. Called again and they said it was "high priority", and ended up never getting a call back, all the while I am there waiting with my stuff to move, and ended up having to move all my furniture myself. They never tried to send someone else out, compensate, or assist me in any way. I sent them an email, and the best they could do was basically "Sorry". I used them once before a year ago, and it was great. This time not so much. Thanks for leaving me hanging.

My second time wth Bellhop. First experience, I hired labor only for my move. I had a truck and did my own driving. That move went really well. The labor guys were awesome. This time I hired truck and labor. It didn't go well. It was slow and the truck was huge, like 3 times more space than I needed. And the driver struggled to maneuver it in new apartment building parking lot. One labor guy did way too much chatting and not enough work. The driver was not helpful. I tried to communicate with him but he was unresponsive.

Do not fall for this scam of a "company". Absolutely terrible experience. Movers were two hours late, went until 2am, were completely unprofessional in every sense, and did not even complete our move. We had to hire a second set of movers because they couldn't finish the job. Nothing but stress, anguish, and horrific lack of service. Many apologies from them but absolutely nothing done to make this right. Two weeks later and we are still upset. Literally too many complaints to fit in this review.

This moving experience was the worst I’ve ever had. I had to constantly call and make sure my packing was scheduled and movers assigned. The boxes that were supposed to be sent beforehand were sent to the wrong address. Then the packers forgot to bring boxes with them and delayed our move by a day. When they did pack everything, they just dumped it in the boxes, breaking a few items. I will never use this service again and would warn everyone against using it.

I was so stressed out about moving. I wish I could have seen into the future to know how easy Andrew, Rian, and Rubie were going to make the experience--I would have been alot more chill! They were awesome and I definitely suggest anyone who worries about all the little details should treat themselves and let Bellhop do all the worrying for them:) If I ever have to move again, I will definitely be using them.

We ended up having to cancel these services because they came unprepared on day 1 and asked to reschedule and kept on putting it off. The crew showed up high and Bellhop didn’t seem to be that bothered by it and was going to send the same crew. They ruined our moving experience, and this is my first bad review I’ve ever written. It’s that bad. If you live in Seattle, I don’t recommend this at all.

Bellhops made our move 1000% easier! Two guys came to pack up our truck in Austin and two other guys came to unpack it in Seattle! In both cases they finished faster than the estimated time, were totally respectful and professional, and everything in the truck made it with 0 breakage. Definitely recommended! Our bellhops in Austin were Nathan & Jarod. Our bellhops in Seattle were Kristian & Josh.

There are some fantastic folks working with Bellhops! John and Jacob were right on time. They were friendly and extremely careful with our things. Despite my ill-preparedness (can anyone /really/ be prepared to move on moving day?), they went with the flow and still managed to finish way earlier than I had originally planned. I’ve moved a lot, and this was the first time ever I have loved my experience! We are extremely blown away today the least! First they all arrived on time, they worked extremely efficiently, took apart the furniture and wrapped it all super diligently. To be honest we are a bit scare about this service but now we can stop raving about how incredible the experience was!

The move went so so smooth! I was really scared for the big furniture( sofa) and bed. They wrapped it real well( as my sofa is light beige colored) and delivered it cautiously. I was really happy with my move - I had to schedule it one week in advance and was able to find a time that worked for me. I also had a situation where one of my couches didn’t fit in my new house and the team was able to take it back to my original house after moving everything else. The movers were punctual and professional. I was disappointed that the time estimate was so far off (2 hrs vs 4.25 hrs). Based on this, I would tell anyone I recommend not to trust the initial time estimate. The guys (Kristian, Tyree, and Cory) were great though and worked through the rain.

We asked for an one-hour move from our PODS container into the house. They offered ~$150/hr rate for only one hour(instead of 2 hour minimum) which was what we exactly needed. And the move was fast and smooth, very good quality! And we were happy with the service!

AVOID, not worth the massive headache. We scheduled packers two weeks in advance and they called THE DAY BEFORE to let us know they can’t send anyone, didn’t offer to help or refer anyone else, and said you’re on your own.
