Bottom line: my furniture was moved on short notice, but unprofessionalism was abound. Pros: 1) The movers came to my house on short notice and completed the move quickly. Cons: 1) The "lead" mover repeatedly tried to get a cash tip from my elderly mother in law. Mom even called me during the move (I was out of town) to tell me, and i said to her "do not tip them, i can provide a tip through the online dashboard after they leave." The mover continued to ask for a tip, saying he needed to "pay the other worker," even providing his Cash App information. All this made mom feel uncomfortable. 2) I initially provided my credit card and Bellhop automatically charged me for each step of the services: a down payment, a charge for the remainder of the balance upon completion, and the tip i authorized through the dashboard. I thought everything was good to go. A few days later, i get a text message from Bellhop saying i had 48 hours to pay a $10 balance or they might send me to collections. I immediately called Bellhop customer service and they told to disregard the message, it was an error, and that the error had been corrected. 3) Next, I checked my credit card statement and noticed that Bellhop had charged me twice for the initial deposit, an overcharge of $33. I called their customer service AGAIN and told them about the overcharge. At Bellhop's request, I sent them screenshots from my credit card statement. Despite it plainly showing their error, Bellhop refused to acknowledge the duplicate charge. Bellhop left me with no options, so I had to dispute this charge with my credit card company. 4) What i found particularly troublesome- they had the audacity/incompetency to threaten me with collections when, at the same time, they actually OWED ME $33.00. Not to mention one of the movers was borderline harassing my mother in law for a tip. Conclusion: The objective was to get a few pieces of furniture moved, which was completed. However, my overall experience was unpleasant. I do not recommend using this company.

Bellhop provided an up cost, they charged a deposit and then charged the full amount for the service prior to the service being completed. I appreciated the seamlessness of this part of the transaction and was very excited for my move. HOWEVER, during the move my truck arrived 1 hour late, the movers stopped to get food between the pick up and drop off of my furniture , there were moments where at least one mover was on the phone, and multiple pieces of furniture were damaged totaling about $600 in damage. After the completion of the move, Bellhop charged me an additional $300+ dollars with out my consent or acknowledgment of the additional charge due to an overage of time (as a result of the late start, phone conversations, and stop for food). I understand the need for movers to get food, a delay in start, and the possible emergencies that may arise that could lead to a phone conversation. BUT Bellhop's inconsideration of these pieces and charging of additional time without my knowledge leaves me HIGHLY disappointed in the services provided. On top of all of this, I am left with needing to get furniture repaired and trying to reconcile and unwarranted charge. The last 3 times I moved, I went with Bookstore Movers, I decided against them this time, because they charged a commute fee, but plan to go with them in the future due to their speed and care.

Jean and Andre did a great job with my move, they were super efficient making sure all my belongings were packed and moved safely. Would definitely book with them again. ---- UPDATE ---- Despite the great service from the two movers I had, I am a bit dissatisfied with the customer service. I have used Bellhops several times in the past, my experience last year being awful and this year exceptional with Jean and Andre so much so that I requested to book with them specifically again. Unfortunately, customer service was not able to honor or guarantee this request, and then refused to provide a refund for the additional move I tried to book with them but unfortunately had to cancel. I have never been informed that the deposit is non-refundable, despite cancelling within 72 hours (2 business days during the holiday weekend). This is truly disappointing especially after giving Bellhops a second chance after the disaster that occurred during my move with them in 2021 when the movers and truck never showed up. I truly did expect more flexibility for my situation.

(Due to space issues at my current home, I could not have the POD delivered to me, so the move required loading a truck just for items going to storage at PODS.) I am a returning customer of Bellhop, having used them 3 times now. I have no complaints about the movers themselves, but rather the customer service and claims department. During my move, a marble table was broken. I reached out to Bellhop and they quickly pushed me to submit a claim as soon as possible and promised a response in 24-48 hours. I have called, emailed, messaged via chat over SIX times for an update with no luck each time. They promise the same 24-48 response. This has been a vicious cycle for OVER A MONTH. Unacceptable service and the way they treat a customer, especially a returning customer. UPDATE: They finally responded to my issue after I posted this review. They took over a month to refund me $52 for a $400 piece of furniture. No incentive to make sure pieces don't get damaged.

I used Bellhop in Washington DC to Waldorf MD. My assigned team of movers (Michael I. First Fleet, & Keith M.) and truck driver (Elijah A.) were AWESOME! Fast, efficient and reliable! They made my heavy furniture look like it weighed nothing. I was amazed. They wrapped everything and were even fast about that. It took about 2 hrs to load then about 40 minutes to unload. They even put the items in the rooms that i I wanted!!! I hear horror stories about moving companies and I was worried they would stall and take longer that the time I was given. But they moved soooo fast! I'm so happy I found bellhop! These specific movers took care with my items. I swear I couldn't keep up! I'd totally use Bellhop and request them again! Do not under any circumstances ever use Bellhop. They no showed. I booked my move well in advance, received all the emails and confirmations, paid my deposit, etc. The morning of my move, scheduled for 8am, no one showed. I called the same day support line, and they told me my move had not been staffed - despite it showing fulfilled and being guaranteed. They said there was nothing they could do to get me same day movers. They said they could try to get someone to come in the afternoon, but it was not guaranteed. The customer service agent was kind, but their internal operations are a joke. I was forced to scramble and find movers same day on a Sunday. If you enjoy being left high and dry the day of your move, use Bellhop! Bellhop makes moving even more stressful than it already is.

Douglas D, Frank G and Arieus H were fantastic with our local Washington DC move! There were a few unexpected events on the day of our move (had nothing to do with Bellhop) that they handled very professionally and with patience. They worked quickly and efficiently and were really pleasant to work with. Everyone that I spoke to at bellhop during the course of my move (including their corporate office and support line) were incredibly helpful and responsive. Moving is stressful but working with Bellhop removed some of that stress because of how professional this company is. We will definitely be using them for future moves. With this move being the third time I have used Bellhop, I must say they have yet again went beyond our expectations. Used Bellhop for a local move this past weekend. Jean and Ronnell were great!! Super efficient, extremely personable. It felt like having some of my guy friends help me out with my move. Jean reached out beforehand to confirm the move, parking, service elevator distance, etc., and on the day of, they were incredibly careful with all of my items and you could tell they were being strategic about what the picked up/offloaded first. This was my first time using a moving company to help load my belongings onto my moving truck. Lamar Ward and Nasir Iman arrived early and were excited to get started. They guys did a great job moving my stuff despite being short one mover. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because when we arrived to the new location the movers arrived about 20 minutes after myself and the truck driver had arrived. Not sure where they went but communicating that they were going to come later would have been ideal especially given that I told them I was on a tight time crunch and we were already short one mover. I would have understood if they needed a break since they were doing the work of 3. I had no issues otherwise, they were great to work with.

I can’t speak highly enough of BELLHOP. We just used Bellhop for three moves in the month of NOVEMBER 2022. Bellhop accommodated our every need, including last minute changes. We needed to clear out a family storage unit this week. The move was effortless, thanks to the Bellhop team of Michael Igboko, Keith Miller, and Elijah Adams. The team arrived on-time, and got right to work. They efficiently cleared out the storage unit, moved the contents onto their truck, drove across town, and then capably unloaded our things—all within in about 2.5 hours. Very professional and careful--and for an affordable price. The next time we need to book a move for ourselves or a family member, we plan to request this team.

Our team lead Frank was excellent. Some of our team members were a bit late due to life circumstances which did push our move later than estimated. I notified the customer support team about that and they said they would look into it when the final bill was presented. The team of people who moved us were absolutely fantastic. They were caring and upbeat (we're moving as a result of a disaster) and very efficient and careful. They got everything done so quickly. As for booking with Bellhop, it was kinda badly managed. We filled out a request for a move, and they didn't let us know we'd been approved until an hour before the movers showed. This didn't give us time to organize or pack our items. However, the team of guys hired to do the job were so great, we appreciated them immensely.

Michael, Frank, Paul, Shakir, Michael, and Keith were incredible! They came right on time, wrapped all my furniture and were ready to go. We had to wait 1.5 hours for the truck to finish a move elsewhere. These gentleman were so helpful and utilized all the time we were waiting so it did not feel slowed at all. I am super grateful to each one of these guys for their strength, positive attitude, and ingenuity in getting a very large couch down some narrow stairs.

I was very satisfied with the team's service for our move. I want say they were AWESOME!! My mother passed away and we were moving items from her home. Initially it was only supposed to be a few things but I thing our family got emotional and attached to things. We began puling more and more. Don't do it, it's not worth it. I hired Bellhop for a move from Texas to Virginia. The majority of my furniture arrived stained and/or broken. Working with them was one of the worst customer services experiences I've ever had with any company. I've since seen their listing on the BBB which warns against using the company due to a "Pattern of Complaint".

I called to get a quote for an upcoming move and the representative I spoke with was condescending before we even got to the numbers. I misheard him so perhaps he thought my question was dumb but in a customer support role, I am surprised he had such little patience. Either way, after two off comments from him I said never mind.

They were professional, efficient and friendly throughout all the hard work required. They made our move easy and we enjoyed having them play such an important part in our move.

The movers were nice and friendly, and showed up early, but they completely destroyed my $5,000 couch, punched a massive hole in my wall, and left my couch covered in the plastic wrap and not even put together. I've contacted Bellhop 5 times regarding my insurance claims and haven't heard back. Very very frustrating.
