(Updated after manager's "response" claim to take this seriously - note that they are bald-faced liars) ALERT: This business will scam you. I booked a regular cleaning appointment and after the cleaning they said they were going to take some pictures of my teeth. I didn't suspect anything out of the ordinary (since I always had that done as a kid) but when I went to leave, they said I had to pay an $395 bill and asked if I wanted to book for fillings (update: Prior to speaking to the manager (finally), I believed the bill was much higher (800), but that number was only a quote for the services they wanted to sell me on top of everything else, my mistake). I was very shocked and didn't understand what just happened. There was NO MENTION that what they wanted to do after the cleaning would end up costing me anything. There was ZERO discussion about any kind of fees. NONE WHATSOEVER. I had absolutely no idea I was about to be slapped with a whopping bill like this for something I never asked for. In the end, GreenShield ended up paying for just under $300 of the cost, leaving me with over $100 to pay out of pocket. When I booked the appointment on the phone, I emphasized that I wanted to come in for a cleaning and CONFIRMED that this would not cost me anything, and that it would be completely covered under the uottawa dental insurance plan, which is who sent me here in the first place. This was the entire reason for going to begin with. I have tried contacting them several times over the years about this and they refuse to respond every time, yet they had the audacity to continue sending me invites to come have my teeth cleaned again.(update: the manager has confirmed that they did receive some of my messages, in which they somehow thinks my tone is unjustified, which they use as justification for ignoring me. As though you could expect a positive tone from someone who got scammed. The manager completely refuses to believe that their staff is anything but completely flawless, and seems to have absolutely no intention of engaging with this on any realistic level). Absolutely absurd and unbelievably repugnant. Stay far away from this extremely shady and unscrupulous business. These reviews are likely almost all fake (all of them reviewing this place have only reviewed one place--this one), and do not sound like anything a real customer would say--the only other local guide reviewing this for some reason provides a bunch of pictures of the interior and reads like a bad commercial. Beware. update: the manager, after several communications, did not take this seriously, and did less than nothing to "address the complaint" and "set things right" (other than waste more of my time), as they claimed in their response to this review. I would also like to confirm that this indeed is the location it occurred, as evidenced by their records which were confirmed to me by the manager themselves. Finally, the manager attempted to provoke me by telling me that I should come in again to get my teeth checked. DISGUSTING. edit again: they say they have no recollection or records, which is a flat out LIE, since I can easily produce records of those communications. Anybody who reads the interaction would be absolutely repulsed by the manager's behavior, and I am more than happy to provide them to anybody who asks.

I've never had a bad dental experience until coming here ruined that record. In fact going to the Dentist's office was my favorite since I was a kid because I was guaranteed one thing--friendliness. I specifically came here because of the reviews but for every 80 5-star ratings, there's someone out there who had a 1-star experience. I got my nightguard from here and when I was seated in the dental chair, waiting for the Dentist to check for high spots on the nightguard. the dental assistant--maybe dental hygienist, I never got her title--was giving instruction on how to take care of the nightguard, I detected a condescending tone when she told me I needed to understand that they needed to be softened with warm water. So I asked one question about the very thing going into my mouth and that was enough for Natalia (I think was her name) to then proceeded to belittle me by saying I asked a bad question and that every Dentist does things differently. She told me that in the very place where there are no such thing as bad questions, and mind you she'd literally asked me if I'd ever had a night guard before and I told her it was my first time so of course I would have questions. If she is not prepared to answer a patients question or have a sour attitude when asked then perhaps she is in the wrong profession. She didn't even apologize even after I went silent. She simply told me that she "didn't mean to make me feel bad" and then proceeded to silver line it with her justification, because that's what's most important when you speak rudely to someone and can visibly see they are uncomfortable speaking to you. I should have left then and there, I regret not doing so. Most inauthentic, compassionless person I've ever met. Way to break down rapport and a patients trust. It's quite funny actually because I am a Dental Hygiene student and know I would NEVER in a million years speak that way to my client or let any dental professional get away with it. 2nd bad encounter -- When I told the Dentist I had to leave in like 15 minutes to write a test, she proceeded to question why I didn't book a longer appointment. She didn't even give me a chance to explain that the office was responsible for my booking and gave me very little options as to their availability and considering that I had excruciating pain in my jaws because I wasn't wearing a nightguard meant I had to squeeze in the appointment between 2 classes. The Dentist dismissed it before I could speak which is a rude way to let the patient know your answer doesn't matter, only their opinion of you. I told the front desk about my bad experience, the lady there was the only thing good about the place, but you'd think the professionals who get paid to put their fingers in your mouth (with gloves) would know how to be professional and kind. No one reached out to apologize to me after that so I know they don't value accountability or care about whether their staff speak rudely to you. It seemed they forgot I was a human being with feelings but they were hurt that day so I won't be returning to that office and would never recommend. For routine dental care I'll be going to Rideau Dental Center where the dental staff have excellent bedside manners and are actually nice to you.

I had my first ever appointment here today and was thoroughly impressed. Zoe was my hygienist, and she did a great job of cleaning my teeth, as well as clearly explaining the changes I could make to improve my oral health. She was also very kind and easy to talk with, which made the visit even better. Dr. Balabanian was my Dentist, and on top of looking at my teeth, she also examined my jaw and neck, which is something I've never had a dentist do before. It was refreshing to know that that it wasn't just a quick check of my teeth The office has clearly gone through a big transformation to keep staff and clients safe during the pandemic. The screening process is thorough and the proper steps have been put in place to keep the air clean. I will continue coming here for all dental needs!

This was the best dentist experience I have ever had. I came in with a lot of anxiety and fear before my checkup but all thanks to Madam Reeta and Dr. Saboor who were so nice and helpful to me throughout my appointment. They helped calm me down and put my mind to ease with their friendliness. They made me feel right at home. The level of care and professionalism was exceptional. Dr. Saboor did a thorough checkup and even took the time to give me such helpful recommendations on how to improve my oral health. Courtney was super helpful too and filed everything for me. I want to thank the whole team for all their help. I would be coming back here for all my future dental needs.

Very kind hygienist and dentist, as well as receptionist. It was my first experience at this office and I found it refreshing. The dentist explained all the steps during my full check-up very clearly (in laymen’s terms) and openly. Both the dentist and hygienist were very gentle with my check-up/cleaning. I also felt very safe with the COVID-19 measures in place, which the staff openly shared explanations around.

Excellent! I had a toothache and booked an appointment to see a dentist. They took care of the problem efficiently and effectively. I came in later for a cleaning, and the dentist hygienist was kind and thorough. Everyone I encountered at this practice has been first rate. They took care of the insurance claim and I got my money from insurance in just a couple of days. I highly recommend them!

Was able to get an appointment right away and had a great experience. Was provided with some care recommendations after the exam, no pressure to purchase products or anything, just good advise. The staff was very respectful and friendly throughout, the equipment and premises were modern and clean. Very happy with my first visit here!

Horrible. First time she did a cavity filling and my tooth hurts for a week. I go back and make a second appt and she was unable to find anything. Then I make a third appt and she forgets her dental tools...lol who in the world misplaces her own dental tools? Most unprofessional dentist ever.

Dr Balabanian and her team extraordinarily surpassed my expectations! I have complex issues with my oral health and they have gone far beyond any dentist I have ever known to help me heal and rebuild my health. I would recommend she services to everyone!

I've always felt welcome. They care about my oral and overall health. They do not feel like they are trying to shame or pressure me into doing certain things so they make money. Overall, one of the best dentists I've ever been to.
