Authentic Indian food - absolutely delicious - and warm friendly service The best Indian in Sydney ! A warm welcome from Anibs who leads a great team at Bijolias for years. The service is wonderful - warm, welcoming, sincere and efficient. Great authentic food with excellent portions. The chef uses only the freshest ingredients and will adjust the heat level (mild, medium, hot) depending on what you'd like. I have particular favourites: Entrees: Samosas (huge and can be shared), Chicken Tikka Boneless chicken marinated with ginger, garlic, yogurt and Bijolias garam masala, served with mesclun lettuce and honey-cumin dressing, Tandoori chicken tikka tossed with tomatoes, desiccated coconut, curry leaves, mustard, fresh ginger, chillies, coriander, fennel & lime. Meat Mains: You can't go past the Chilli Tikka Masala (the signature dish and just the best Indian dish I've ever had) - tandoori chicken simmered with roasted onions, fresh coriander, fresh chillies, ginger and shallots. Bhuna Chilly Lamb which is Lamb pieces pan sautéed in spicy masala with capsicum, ginger and fresh chillies. Saag Gosht - delicately spiced tender lamb in a spinach and fenugreek gravy, Beef Chilli Lime - slow braised spicy beef cooked with banana chilli, fresh tomatoes and lime. Vegetarian Mains: Bijolias Daal - a classical blend of 5 lentils braised with tomato and ginger juliennes, tempered with fenugreek and cumin. Subz Malai Kofta - seasonal vegetable dumplings in a onion, yoghurt sauce with cashew nuts and sultanas - delicious. Byo (with a liquor store a few doors down).

We've been going to Bijolias for years. The service is wonderful - warm, welcoming, sincere and efficient. And the food makes it easily the best Indian on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. All of the dishes are generous portions with fresh flavours, tender meat and perfect amount of spice/heat. And, you must start off with a samosa - they are huge and really tasty. And for mains, all the dishes are great - this visit we had the Bhuna Chilly Lamb which is Lamb pieces pan sautéed in spicy masala with capsicum, ginger and fresh chillies as well as the Chilli Tikka Masala which is tandoori chicken simmered with roasted onions, fresh coriander, fresh chillies, ginger and shallots. I love the Chilli Tikka Masala - totally delicious. Other favourites of mine - the Saag Gosht - delicately spiced tender lamb in a spinach and fenugreek gravy, Beef Chilli Lime - slow braised spicy beef cooked with banana chilli, fresh tomatoes and lime and the Bijolias Daal - a classical blend of 5 lentils braised with tomato and ginger juliennes, tempered with fenugreek and cumin. And a new favourite is the Subz Malai Kofta - seasonal vegetable dumplings in a onion, yoghurt sauce with cashew nuts and sultanas - delicious. The chef will cook according to the heat level you request. We love medium and it's always cooked the way we like it. Great that you can byo.
The food is ok, but not ground-breaking. There are a lot of Indian restaurants in Sydney that are at least as good. My main issue with the restaurant and ultimately the reason why I only rate it 1 star is the complete lack of service. I have never experienced such a slow and incompetent staff. They gave us the menu after 25mn roughly, and after 2 hours in the restaurant, we were still waiting for the main to be served. We had 2 young kids with us, and ended up leaving the restaurant with take-away food... Safe to say that I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone with children. The main issue, from what I could see based on the number of takeaway customers is that they give priority to takeaway food and the clients inside the restaurant (4 tables at the time) end up paying the price for that. Again about the service, we asked for "hot" (with chili) and got "mild" (they forgot the chili), which is not such a big deal but still worth mentioning and added to the bad experience.

Have been a couple of times and really enjoyed the wonderful food. however, service can be a bit amiss and a table arriving later than us got their menus and appetizer before us (we never got the appetizer but all other tables got it). we were given 2 serves of naan bread when we only asked for 1 (I was suprised at how much we got) and consequently got charged for it. also the garlic on it isn't fresh, it's the dried garlic powder usually bright yellow. our meals didn't come at the same time (one of us was finished when the other one came, and we had rice and naan bread quite late after everything was served. We DO appreciate this is a place with high quality food, but maybe get organised so that online orders and pick ups do not interfere too much with the usual running of the place (one person picking up their order was upset it wasn't ready 1h later and they were told 20 min late).
Just returned from our Friday night meal and our first visit to Bijolias. How on earth have we not heard about this place before. As a lover of Indian food this restaurant was heaven and the service was outstanding. Talk about the personal touch. We over ordered so we could taste a few different dishes (and knowing that leftovers would be taken away :-)) and can honestly say that each dish from the chicken to the beef and the two vegetarian dishes were wonderful. To get wonderful food with probably the best and most personal service I've received in Australia all added up to an awesome experience. 5 Stars isn't enough, this place deserves 7! Thank you Aneba (apologies for the probable mis-spelling) and for the butter chicken "care package" you threw in for our daughter who wasn't with us and was devastated to miss out. Wonderful all round.
WOW ! This Indian food is the best we have had. We went on a recommendation of a friend who joined us for dinner when they found out where we were planning. A table of for 6, and another table to put our kids. It’s a small restaurant with a huge personality. The staff and hostess were amazing, recommending dishes and advising on serving proportions. The food was sensational with every dish bringing a smile to our faces. The samosas are huge and nearly a meal in itself. The hostess came out with a nan bread that was nearly as big as our table ! She welcomed us with open arms (and even a hug). We loved the food, the staff and the location was perfect. The meal was surprisingly cheap and being BYO is a bonus. We will definitely be back ! We may even go again this weekend to get another serving of those delicious cutlets
Words can not express how grateful I am to have stumbled upon this awesome find, but I'll try... Never have I ever - had customer service better than I have had at this amazing restaurant! A true blessing to have gorgeous filling, tasty food - all served with a smile and customer service that cannot be faulted. The ambience, warmth, kindness & genuine heart that is felt here can not be matched. There is nothing that could be improved. Everything was perfect ❣️ Thank you so much. It was a true blessing I came to dine at your brilliant restaurant tonight. I will be back for sure Thank you again beautiful soul

Amazing……..! Food. Our first night in Sydney and came across this restaurant by accident. Being from the UK, we have our fair share of great Indian restaurants but oh well……What a great accident it was to eat here. It’s a small, vibrant, friendly place. If you get the chance please visit. We had the butter chicken, lamb with chickpeas, tandoori grill and garlic Nan. The hospitality was out of this world to compliment the out of this world food. I would eat there every night but it’s our first visit to Sydney so we do need to try other cuisines.

Place is so badly run. Overworked girl at counter was only one serving & she had to take all the take away orders. That seems to be owners priority as only 2 tables had been served whilst take away meals going out every 5 minutes. After 20 minutes waiting for a drink, our orders hadn’t been taken & no sign of order being taken soon. Many other frustrated diners, so we walked out & will not be back. Went to another in Balgowlah, Pulthari, & amazed at the food, service & ambience. Best curries & quick service

Had delivery from here because of the amazing reviews but unfortunately would not go again. If it was just one bad dish I wouldn’t mind but sadly every dish was terrible. Some of the flavours (and colours!) were so unnatural that I genuinely don’t know what we ate. Chicken was badly prepared so a sharp chicken bone in the curry poked my throat as I swallowed it. The paneer was weirdly watery. Maybe we just got unlucky and caught them on a bad night but I’m not willing to try again.

Definitely our favourite Indian in Sydney. I absolutely love the Prawn dish, dahl and the lamb curry. The starters are terrific too. At Bijolias the food is always delicious, the staff are super friendly and the food is truly authentic. We have taken groups of people from all over to the country and city and they have always been impressed. We have also celebrated major birthdays there in large groups sharing food and had a wonderful experience. If you love Indian food this place is a must try.
Lovely gentle atmosphere, quiet, elegant, clean. Delicious choice of vegetarian and meat dishes. Service was prompt, pleasant and unobstusive. Eggplant Currie, tandoori grill, dhal, lovely flaky garlic naan all presented in traditional Indian plates with style and attention to detail Very affordable given the obvious quality and freshness of produce. This place is an absolute gem. Thank you for a beautiful evening

I get food from this place a lot of the time, it’s great food and I always enjoy it. But I have dined in once and never will again. The people who work here have such a lack of awareness and show extreme incompetence. The girls at the front counter really need to work on their costumer service, always moody and grumpy! Very disappointing.

Bijolias went above & beyond for our dining experience! Staff were so friendly & attentive. The food was authentic and delicious! Very reasonably priced for the large portions. Forgot I had left a note stating that it was my partners birthday when I had originally booked & without requesting so a cake was brought out as a free & wonderful surprise with singing + candles. A lovely, warming touch. Highly recommend, we’ll be back!
Used to be one of my favourite restaurants, but the food quality has deteriorated. I suspect that the business has changed hands early last year. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The food is not bad, but it is no longer exceptional. Still charging old prices though. Changing my rating from 5 to 4 stars. Still worth visiting, but I'll also try some other Indian restaurants nearby for the first time in my life.
Excellent service Staff was very accommodative of our special requests. Thank you again for getting us in at a short notice. Wish you good luck with everything.

Dope food, and the lady who runs the place is so sweet and made sure everything was taken care of perfectly. It was my first time here, I came on a whim with my girlfriend, and this is 100% our new Indian spot.

This is an excellent Indian restaurant that offers a good variety of plates at reasonable prices. It is possible to order various small plates and share everything so everyone can try a tasteful meal. The service is also very kind and efficient. I loved the experience! More

Amazing serving, the staff was really kind & helpful, they helped me a lot to pick foods and recommendations about which foods are most popular. The hygiene of the store 10/10 very clean. This place was amazing, so good so refreshing, Highly recommend.
The best Indian restaurant on the Northern Beaches if not the whole North Shore. A family run business, food made with love and care. Each dish has been cooked separately in its own sauce unlike other restaurants that have a base sauce and add to it.
We had such a lovely night at Bijolias. We hadn’t been for a few years and commented about how delicious all the dishes were. We made a comment to our delightful host Anibha that the last time we had food this delicious it was a restaurant
A wonderful place with incredible charm. All dishes were delicious, especially the Khasta prawns. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have to say, I absolutely love Bijolas. Their food is delicious, the serving sizes are good and it is not expensive. It is not a large restaurant, but it is always full. That says a lot for any restaurant. The owner is one of the nicest
The best Indian in Sydney - simply incredible food. For twenty years we've been going to Indian restaurants in the UK and Australia with friends Nicki and Fritz. Tonight we finally joined them at Bijolias and the food & warm, friendly
Great service. Good food. Next time we will ask for the sauces to be hotter, more spicy. Lots of young families in on the Saturday night we were there. It was very busy when we arrived at 7. We were the last to leave just after 9:30.
The best Indian I've had this side of Bradford. If every now and then, you fancy a great curry, packed full of flavour and slammed full of meat or chicken, then it's worth going to this place. The naans are amazing too.
This restaurant serves delicious Indian food, including from the tandoori so you must have the breads. Prompt and very friendly service. I love going there.

Beautiful people! Amazing service. We went there for birthday dinner. They made us feel special. The presentation is 5 out of 5. Food Was really delicious. 100% will be their regular now.
We were asked to pick up our order in 1 hour and then spent a further 40mins sat in the restaurant waiting for it to be ready. I don't care how good the food is we won't be back!!
Wonderful. Best Indian I've had in a very long time. Samosas are amazing and the eggplant dish was great. Plus service with lots of smiles. Thank you, we'll be back.
OMG what amazing food. Aniba was so friendly & welcoming. The restaurant was so clean and all the staff friendly. Will definitely be back soon :) More
Been eating here my whole life. Best Indian restaurant in Sydney. The owner is really lovely and a generous soul. Great food and good vibes
