Cycling has been my main transport for most of my life and I love to advocate for independent bike shops. I have used Blue Door Bicycles for many years and always had such a positive experience until last Monday (21/08/2023). I had a broken inner wheel on my bike and I pushed the broken bike up Crystal Palace Hill. When I arrived the person working there identified many other areas that he insisted needed to get fixed, I explained I could not afford all that work at this instance. He did not consider my explanations about how I can get these different parts fixed with support from my friend. He was arrogant, unempathetic and condescending in his communication with me and declined to work on my bike. I don't know if the fact that my bike is not very expensive, the work was not going to cost much or that I was on my way to celebrate my son's birthday and looked "girly" had any part in his approach with me. One thing I do know is that I will take my bike to different shop next!

I want to share my very positive customer service experience. I brought in a a second-hand bike I'd bought for £20. I was fully prepared for a basic tune-up & service to determine if it was worth it or I'd just wasted £20. The repairman checked there and then ALL that would have to be replaced - way too much! Saving me a lot of time, money. I offered for him to please take something for his evaluation, but he wouldn't accept anything. I won't forget a good turn, so even though I haven't used the services YET, I recommend this business and will support it in the future.

Very helpful and honest! This is my first time with Blue Door as I was looking for a new place to get my bike looked at, as my budget was totally ignored in another reasonably local place that was recommended to me. They respected my needs and were forthcoming about the costs and were honest enough to tell me it was not worth servicing my second bike! It was timely, and the service was friendly, communication was top. I will come back for my next service, and recommend to others who really don't know much about bikes, but just enjoy a good ride.

Brilliant service! My bike was a bit battered and bruised and now it is performing at it's best level. I opted for the standard service and feel as though the bike is brand new. It rides really well and all the problems have been fixed to a high standard. The front bar was straightened at no extra cost. These guys go above and beyond and really care about what they do. Very friendly customer service to boot. Will be back again, worth every penny. Thanks again BDB!!

Fantastic place! Had broken a spoke on a long ride to Kent and was nursing the bike back home with a buckled back wheel. Popped into Cadence who recommended Blue Door. Popped in and despite being busy they fixed it in 20 mins while I grabbed a coffee round the corner! Also checked out my disc brakes (which had been noisy) too! Am going to get my bikes serviced here in future - great place!

Booked at appointment two days prior during the second lockdown. Came in on the day and was greeted by Lee who pushed my appointment to the front as I was in a rush. Performed a full service, refitted a couple bits (didn’t charge for fitting) and gave a full clean. Quality service, expert impartial advice and performed speedy but reliable work. Would highly recommend as a regular go to.

Brought my bike in as I was having trouble with my gears. Andrew helped me out straight away and fixed it in 5 minutes while explaining the issue to me. Professional service and dead friendly. Highly recommend.
