Exceptional Consultation Experience with Olha, the Pet Store Consultant I had the pleasure of seeking assistance from Olha, a remarkable pet store consultant, in my desperate search for balanced, premium-quality food for my two Ragdoll cats. Their selective taste and preference for fresh meat or almost whole fish in canned food made it challenging to find the right product. Other consultants promoted various options without understanding the importance of excellent food composition and appealing appearance to my cats. Olha went above and beyond by not only helping me find food that they truly enjoy but also providing a comprehensive feeding plan. Her proficiency in the Ukrainian language significantly enhanced the search for the desired cat food. I had previously wasted a lot of money due to misguided advice, but Olha's expertise saved the day. Nearly a month has passed since implementing Olha's recommendations, and the results are outstanding. My cats are now healthy, energetic, and have glossy fur. Their weight is within the normal range, and they no longer experience stress during bathroom visits. I am immensely grateful for Olha's invaluable assistance, as every recommendation was precisely what I needed, and it effectively corrected my caregiving mistakes. Very rude white employee tonight at 7:50pm. My dog since they opened has ran into store. This fairly new employee who was rude to me previously. I walk in 10 seconds after Bear and employee is holding another customers dog and tells me next time bring your dog in. I said Bear is friendly and he says maybe the other wont be. It repeats again and I said do you have to have the last word and he says yes and I said your customer service lacks being courtsous. He says it again with a sarcastic tone staring at my meanly. Just lost an exvellent customer and I'll make sure my friends and family no longer shop there. Just received a second call from owner and apologizes for how I felt on the night abovs. He said he watched video and spoke how this emploes is one of his best! I explained to him, as if he will admit his sarcasm and rudeness. I have missed the Pet Pantry and glad for my business and my friends and family will no longer go to Bones. Shame on owner for calling me and with a entire different attitude of me not being believed. by him but rather his employee. Guess he can read lips and body language on video.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times now, I’m getting a puppy soon and living locally I wanted to find the best store. I’ve been to the pet pantry and boselys nearby and while they both have positives, neither of them match the level of service from Bones. I visited the Bones store on Davie last night (New Years eve) to be pleasantly surprised they were open full hours. I was helped mainly by a young guy in a red hoody, he was extremely knowledgeable, going over everything from limited diets, meat percentages and the benefits as well as clothing and return policies. We spent a good amount of time together, even giving me some samples to take home, while explaining the differences between the brands. The best thing about it was nothing felt pressured, I felt like all of the staff members genuinely cared also speaking with another male (fabulous mask man!) who was quick to find out about an item I’m after, even offered to potentially order it in for me if they are able to get it. Happy new year to all the staff at Bones, keep up the fantastic work.

Went to the bones on thurlow and pendrell. My s.o. and I go there often as we live in the building above, and had enough points for a 10th free bag. It wasn't about the money but the principle here- as the manager on duty claimed that he could not find our account and that we had never even been in the store and that maybe my girlfriend was just lost or forgetting or lying. He was super patronizing and I was very shocked that he had some how lost our account as we have been going to this store since opening. She gets dog food there every couple weeks and he knows who we are, as do all the other staff. He was unable to rectify the situation even after finding the account somehow- claiming that we hadn't bought anything there before and had no points?!? We will be going to the tysol down on Davie from now on. The rest of the staff are really friendly and they have good food options so it is disappointing.

Bones is a very welcoming pet store. The Thurlow location in particular has very welcoming staff who make my dog feel very special and always ask if she can have a treat before giving one. My dog practically drags me off the street into the store now. As for the selection; they have many of the same brands as the larger chains when it comes to accessories, but the food and treats they carry seems to be higher quality. Some things are a little more pricey than your Jeff Bezos equivalent (poop bags and paw wipes), but for the most part it's quite affordable. I recently bought an adorable skeleton dog sweater for Halloween and it was only $24.99.

My cat recently had dental surgery and can only eat soft food. Being a cat he is refusing all food I’ve bought for him except for one particular brand, I went to 3 stores in North Vancouver yesterday and each one was sold out. I did some googling and Bones had the food in stock & they deliver! The food was on my doorstep when I got home from work. They texted me this morning asking me if the delivery time worked and even let me change my ship to address. I am so so pleased with Bones! Thank you for saving me from driving all over the lower mainland searching for food for my picky cat!

Went to this location today for the first time with my senior dog and new pupppy. The two kind gentleman working today were so great with my dogs and went out of their way to give me recommendations and suggestions for my 14yr old American Staffy. He has allergies and is very old for a large dog. We were informed about green mussels snacks and all the health benefits for the old boy and I’m extremely grateful. Not all people are kind and welcoming to bully breeds. Thank you again to the kind Sir who helped us out, we will definitely be going to this location from now on.

My partner and I visited before adopting our dog and the staff were fantastic - especially the guy who I believe was the manager. He took probably half an hour to walk around the store with us as we picked out the things we needed. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about both dogs and the products sold. What's more, he never once tried to upsell us or anything like that. He even told us to make sure to bring our dog in to visit. I would highly recommend this store based on my experience and I will certainly shop there again.

This is a fantastic store - both the Thurlow and Smithe Street stores. They've got the best products for your dog or cat - the products and food they sell are thoroughly researched - the owner is extremely knowledgeable. And what's more their friendly customer service is second to none. They go out of their way to provide good customer service which is so appreciated - and they make it a happy experience for my two dogs who go into the store with me.

Was recommended a treat for my new puppy and brought it back as he couldn’t bite it properly. Was told I can exchange if it did not work out and now they are saying they can return food but not treats? Okay....? Nice new store but will bring my business to other stores with better return policy and consistent communication. You can find all the same at Petsmart or Bosley’s.

I went into this shop super anxious because one of my cats was having allergies from his current food. The man helping me was so helpful! He helped me understand what common allergies were for cats and he also helped me find cat food that works for both diabetic cat and my cat that has allergies. I would return here every time just for the great customer service I got.

It is so rare to find an exceptional sales person, someone with extensive product knowledge and the ability to inform and educate without pushing products. There’s a gentleman with an accent who works at this location and is fantastic. He sold us a harness and leash that works so well for us and gave us a couple of good tips. We will be back for more ruffwear products!

The staff members are all very professional and friendly. I also love they offer sample bags for different dog food. My dog has severe allergies to all types of food.. and it took a long time to find an excellent hypo-allergic food for him. One of the staff here recommended a unique food, and I finally found the perfect food for my dog. 10/10 recommended!!

So completely indistinguishable from every other pet store in the neighborhood I had a hard time even writing this review. Same brands of food, same overpriced cat trees, I swear even the decor and floor signage looks identical. I'm actually becoming more and more convinced that all the west end pet stores are all the same company actually...

I go to Nelson dog park a couple times a week and almost always end up here. The staff have been both very helpful and very friendly! My dog obviously also loves it.. mostly for the water bowl outside, the staff giving him attention and giving him treats (always asking first!) of course!

I shopped at this delightful Pet Store just down the street from my apartment. The staff are friendly and very attentive, eager to help you with your needs. My clerk Emily took the time to help me select wet food for my aging & finicky

Terrible customer service - Bought a tag which was unreadable after 2 weeks and was told that I "shouldn't expect to put it on my dogs collar" - attitude of the manager was terrible. Will never shop at this scam store again.

My go to pet store in the West End area! The store has everything and the staff in amazing, in particular I would like to shout out Cooper and Clay who always go above and beyond for me and my little dog Rio!!!

Amazing customer service. The only reasons for 4 stars is the hours are only 11-8 and the products are very pricy. My dog loves the store though and tries to drag me in every time we pass!

Ordered a sweater for my dog from these guys and drove down there to pick it up. The staff seamed like the least personable people I have ever met working at a pet store.

I was charged $3 each for a pet food sample that was sent to the store for free, I used to work at a pet store and I know theese samples are sent for free to the store .
