I called early yesterday morning because my furnace was malfunctioning- it seemed to be misfiring and kept turning off after only being on for a few minutes at a time, and the house was just getting colder and colder. Mitch was so helpful! He was patient and took the time to talk a few possible causes through with me and in the end taught me how to safely do my own repair (I had to clean the flame sensor). Not only that, but he also checked in with me later that day to see how it went. He did all this over the phone and saved me the cost of a visit with zero personal gain to himself, which I think speaks volumes about the kind of person and tradesman he is. He may not have earned a big payday from me yesterday, but he has gained a future loyal customer and many referrals! Thanks again for your help Mitch! :)

I am usually good about asking questions of contractors, but I really blew this one. Job was a simple in and out so one hour labour and materials max maybe $300. But what I thought was an hourly rate was a 1/2-hour rate, plus you are charged in full 30 minutes so 35 is 60-minute charge. You are also charged for trips to the store for parts. You are charged for parts, per part minimum charge $10 per part so 2 - $2.39 elbows cost $10 not $5. In the end it cost me $700 to install. Plumber said I should replace line leading to the water heater, but I didn't fall for that one. But he should have taped insulation, although I would have had to pay for tape. He didn't load old tank. I said, "aren't you taking that". He said "sure for another $150. " I took it to Calgary Metals myself and got $12.

I had a leaky diverter valve in my bathtub, Mitch was fast to respond, and was able to come right away. He was willing to fix it, whereas two other plumbing companies told me it’s too difficult to find replacement parts and wanted to replace the entire valve and bathtub fixtures, which would have involved cutting into the drywall. A lot of times, things can be fixed rather than thrown away and create more waste. Even though Mitch’s rate is not cheap, it’s well worth it as the quotes to replace the entire fixture would have been 2-3x the amount. Also consider that the rate includes travel times, mileage, parking, time spent finding the right parts etc. Mitch was very professional and explained everything in detail. Rates are provided upfront so there are no surprises.

Mitch originally came to our home to fix a leaky hot water heater and he was very proactive by bringing a new tank in case it had to be replaced. He inspected everything and replaced a valve (at no charge) and when this did not fix the problem, he installed the new tank at a VERY reasonable cost. While wrapping things up, I noticed that our dishwasher was suddenly leaking. Mitch found the issue right away, repaired it AND put a fix in place so that it would not happen again. How Lucky can we be ~ we have an Excellent Plumber already at out home when the second issue came up and Mitch was there to save the day!!! Mitch has been exceptional to work with time and time again. Whether he’s checking out our furnace, repairing drain pipes in our basement, installing a garburator, or replacing hose bibbs outside - it’s always a pleasure to have him stop by. I’ve never felt pressured when Mitch comes over - he’s open and honest with where you should or shouldn’t put your money, and I’ve always felt as though he’s looking out for my best interest to ensure I get the best “value” long term. Mitch from Bowness Plumbing and Heating came to our home today to fix a leak under the sink. He not only fixed the leak, but he also on re-grouted the whole sink area; got our second water tank up and running; and fixed a leaky faucet on one of our bathrooms. My husband "shadowed" him through the whole process and learned so much that he will be able to take care of these types of repairs on his own in the future! Mitch had to pick up a few parts and did not charge us for the time it took him to go to two separate stores and the overall bill was VERY reasonable for all the work he did. At 630 this morn I was fit to be tied! I tried all the big companies! Quoted 400 to 600 and what happened is I figured keep money in my neighborhood! The other company's wanted to much for OT time because they would have to do a service call after hours, I was desperate and would have paid what ever to have it done with.But life got better when I decided to call Mitch at Bowness Plumbing and Heating, he was here in 15 minutes, a girl can't pee in the yard! He could have taken me for lots of money, but he was honest and true! And had it all done in no time! A good guy in my books! Just want to support a hard working gentleman in my neighborhood.

I'm so impressed with Bowness Plumbing and Heating. We had a midnight water backup in our bathroom and laundry room and had to call for service. He came out and had to pull the toilet to use his spiral saw and cleaned the line out 100 feet into the city main twice with to different cutting bits. Our blockage was out in the main city line. Once the bathroom blockage was clear he allowed me to thoroughly clean and disinfect our floors before reinstalling the toilet. In the meantime he shop vacuumed and cleaned up our laundry room. I will never use any other plumber ever again! He is honest, hardworking, personable, and fair! Great job Mitch!

I wish there was a way to leave more than 5 stars for my review. My hot water heater stopped working at the worst possible time (-34 degrees outside). A called a couple other companies, and they were booked and told me to just call back the next day. I called Bowness and talked to Mitch, and he said he'd be able to come by later today. However, when I described the problem, he said he'd be able to help me out over the phone, and his solution worked! No charge, and I have hot water again. I will absolutely be calling Mitch again the second I need anything plumbing related. He's earned my trust and loyalty...hands down!

Called at 8am about laundry room sink overflowing. He was here within 2 hours with a mechanical drain snake. I worked with him ... he said it's likely that lint or other small items from washing machine were clogging the washer drainage system. I was amazed that he soon confirmed the problem from sensations in his hands from what his snake machine was encountering; he continued to work for 10 minutes to extract a small piece of fabric and a other tiny items. Next, he fixed a slow draining bathroom sink in 10 minutes, and did a quick check of our furnace. He is very personable. Started helping his plumber Dad at age 8.

Due to the unholy cold snap, we had no water which was not ideal. In a panic I called Bowness Plumbing and Heating because it was the closest to my house. Mitch called me back in no time and came the same day working into the night, then came back in the morning fixed our frozen pipes and repaired our furnace that 3 other heating companies said was in disrepair. He charged us much less and repaired everything. If you are in the mobile park in bowness and need a plumber or help with your heat, I recommend you call Mitch first.

We're an office of mostly women, and when there were problems in the men's washroom, we were useless. I checked online and Bowness Plumbing had excellent reviews, so I called. He came out within a few hours, easily figured out the problem, showed me how to change the batteries, and advised on how to resolve the other situation. So grateful! Mitch did a job for us today and he was excellent! He fixed some iffy older plumbing, fixed up our really messed up water shut off valve and updated our humidifier and got it working perfectly! He was on time, efficient and really knew what he was doing. To top it off it didn't cost us nearly as much as I expected! I also appreciate that he's a really nice guy and someone I'm totally comfortable having in our home! We'd go to him again in a heart beat!

Mitch was as nice person as you would hope to come in your home. He was friendly and easy to talk to and at the same time, very professional. I contacted Bowness Plumbing and Heating about a leaking hot water valve. It wasn't an emergency, but Mitch still took care of it the same day. The scheduling process was handled via text, which I really liked. Mitch was friendly and informative, explaining what he was doing and why at each step of the repair. Everything went smoothly, and I was very pleased with the result (a non-leaking water valve ).

The flex copper pipe out of my hot water tank was leaking. I couldn't find a replacement in the evening. I called Mitch (good thing) at about 8:30 pm on a Tuesday, he arrived within 20 minutes! Mitch explained why he doesn't use flex copper pipe and replaced the leaky flex pipe with a solid pipe. I will definitely call Mitch again for any plumbing problems, even ones I think I can fix myself.

Great experience and I will be keeping Mitch's card and number for plumbing emergencies. We had a leak when turning on our water for the hose for the first time in the year, and had a few other lingering repairs that were needed. Got lucky with timing and got a same day repair, accurate cost to estimate, and work completed without issue. The cost was reasonable and I would recommend.

I had a nasty backup that I couldn't seem to get to myself so I called Mitch. He was able to make time to come help me out right away, got the job done quickly and efficiently. He got the job done in less time and even took the time to check other parts and really went above and beyond. Prices were also very reasonable. Mitch was really straightforward about his rates, which I appreciate a ton. He came in and took care of a tough clog that the last guy gave up on. He really knows his stuff and you can tell how important it is to him to do the work right. I'm really happy with the work. Hope I don't need a plumber again any time soon, but if I do, I'll definitely call Bowness first.

Mitch was a good and personable. The rates are on the higher side. He charges $190 for the first half hour and $115 for every additional half an hour. Just to change a tap it cost me $580 (includes the new tap bought from Mitch). Would have been nice to get a quote to do the repair instead of an hourly charge to do simple jobs like changing a faucet.

Contacted Mitch about our shower leak. He gave great advice on where the leak could be originating from based off his experience. Then he listed several ways to troubleshoot the leak efficiently while still being cost effective. Managed to fix the leak and prevent future problems. We will be using Bowness Plumbing and Heating for any future needs.

The work was done on time and efficiently but to install a sink I paid 950. I guess I wasn't on my right mind at the time and paid that not knowing that other plumbers that I spoke to afterwards would have charged me 300 and another one was 400. I feel like I was overcharged by a lot.

Fantastic service! Called at 5pm with a drain I hadn't been able to unclog and Mitch was there by 7:30! Upfront with his rate and no premium charges for a same day evening, had the drain fixed within an hour. Had a great way of teaching too so I'm prepared for next time!
