I attended this museum firm to endorse time to see the Spike Lee Exhibit. I arrived around 1:30 and the line only had 10 people. The adult cost is $25. They have a restaurant on the ground floor after you enter that seems really nice and a had a menu on display outside of the entrance. The museum is airy and bright with a lot of windows and light as you navigate the ground floor. The Spike Lee exhibit was on the 8th floor I think. It was amazing! Spike Lee was THE major contributor to black creative arts in his time and the exhibit showcases a lot of his work and personal loves, like basketball and his family. There are rooms that show snippets from some of his movies like Malcolm X, School Daze, and Do The Right Thing. By the time I left around 3PM the ticket line was outside! Glad we got there early!

Overall, it was an amazing experience, especially since admission was "pay as you wish" (except for special exhibitions). The museum's extensive collection spans many different eras and cultures, from ancient Egypt to contemporary art. The building itself is beautiful and spacious, with plenty of room to explore and take in the exhibits. The exhibits feature current events, artifacts, and incredible works of art from all over the world. Visitors can expect a lot of walking, but it's worth it to see the art everywhere, from the entrance to even in the parking lot. It was an absolutely fantastic and informative experience. I highly recommend visiting the Brooklyn Museum. It's a true gem in the heart of Brooklyn and a wonderful way to spend a day exploring art and culture.

A large and beautiful museum with an incredible selection of unique works ranging from Egyptian antiquities to European, African and Asian art pieces. This museum is massive and has 5 floors of incredible art. I enjoyed exploring each floor and moving through the different demonstrations, which were beautifully laid out and maintained. 'The Dinner Party' was stunning in-person and was a highlight of my visit. I also very much recommend checking out the Visible Storage area, as there are many outstanding prices that are stored within. Another highlight was the massive KAWS 'Companion' wooden statue near the museum entrance. Overall, a wonderful and broad selection of prices within a beautifully designed museum. I cannot recommend visiting this museum enough.

The Brooklyn Museum, also known as The Brooklyn Museum of Art, is an art museum located in Brooklyn, New York. With just over 1.5 million works of art and hundreds of thousands of square feet, The Brooklyn Museum is the third largest museum in all of New York City, making it a highly sought-after tourist attraction and one of the best museums in Brooklyn and best museums in NYC to visit. The art within The Brooklyn Museum exhibits embodies various world cultures and their artistic heritage. The Brooklyn Museum of Art is mainly known for its African art, Egyptian art, and paintings from the 17th to the 20th century. Famous artists on display include Norman Rockwell, Edward Hopper, Edgar Degas, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Mark Rothko to name a few. #fivestarcalifornia

This museum should stand in line with Metropolitan or Natural History Museum, but it doesn’t stay even near. Very small selection of art, half exhibits closed. It’s 16$ and no discounts for NY residents (Met and Natural History is pay as you wish). I didn’t see anything interesting to be honest, the only thing is they have sarcophagus with actual corps in it. That’s it, in my opinion not worth at all, unless there is some interesting exhibition (my friend visited the museum when there was Dior expansion and she loved it).

Absolutely marvelous museum and a great place to go if you're visiting NYC and want to get out of Manhattan for an afternoon! While not as large as some of the bigger museums in the city this place still can take a few hours to properly go through! The building is absolutely beautiful and the exhibits are all very well designed with detailed descriptions of each piece when possible. Highly recommend getting the combo museum & garden pass which gets you into the botanical gardens next door!

ideal environment. Friendly and chill staff. Thought provoking and evocative exhibitions. Airy interiors. Whimsical outdoor courtyard. Progressive curating. An endorsement of emerging artists. Art camp kids everywhere. Best tortas north of the Potomac. in my rxperience, yo. what's not to love in a museum with the first abstract art public murals, Keibler Wiley, The Dinner Party and Mel Chinn's Fundred Project in their permanent collection and on display.

As many times as I drive past the Brooklyn museum over my decades living in the borough, this was my first time inside. I went to see the Spike Lee exhibit which was a very impressive collection of memorabilia from sports, film, music, photography and of course his personal catalog of work. The museum was in no way stuffy or austere. Modern and spacious. Even has a space to purchase and eat food. I'll visit again.

The best thing about visiting this museum is witnessing the effort the team puts into each exhibit. Information on how the museum came into possession of the art and stories on the artists are so well executed here. There’s also a large collection of African art here and also many recent works from local artist which is great to see. For those looking for classics there’s that too.

I highly recommend this! There's so much to learn about different cultures and traditions! It was absolutely amazing experience that I had to do it twice! I love how they constantly changing things around so it be different every visit! Oh, if you're worrying about parking, it's behind of the building and I paid $15 for about two and a half hours.

The Brooklyn Museum has always served as a catalyst for my love of the arts and science. I practically grew up here. This museum has fostered great minds of millennial artists and I am exceedingly grateful that this piece of history is still standing. When I have my children I will make it my duty to expose them to the wonders of this museum.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Brooklyn Museum. There are many wonderful pieces of art and artifacts of various cultures that help weave a story of various cultures and peoples. Out of all the many exhibits I found two that touched my soul, posted with this review.

I went to the exhibition of Monet to Morisot. Highly appreciated the curators that tried to make a collection of the famous artist in Impressiont period to gather in this exhibtion. It is easy to understand the message from the exhibtion. The layout is not complicated. Go with the flow and you could finished this one around 1 hr.

In: Brooklyn and is: museum Theres a statement in the ancient Ejypt section that says the museum is abiding by a law that states they can keep any ancient artifacts acquired before 1970. That’s humorous and convenient. We’re following the law, we did nothing wrong
Staffs are friendly and courteous at the museum shop. A lot of discounted items. Would be nice to have more wearable items. Many gift choices available. Wont hurt to expand more item selections. It was a pleasant experience.

The Brooklyn Museum never disappoints. Each floor draws you into different realms, where you are able to learn and admire art, statues, artifacts, and molds. The first Saturday of each month there is live music and pop ups for everyone to enjoy. More
Such a beautiful environment. I enjoy this place every time I visit. It is modern, classy and huge. Floating around all day is a joy. I attended The Dior exhibit and it was the best! These are more recent photos from an exhibit regarding Black artist.
The Brooklyn Museum is a young museum with exciting exhibitions. I went to see the exhibition "the dinnerparty" by Judy Chicago. Really very recommendable

We went to see Judy Chicago’s The Dinner Party (which was stunning) and then toured the general collection of a thoughtful mix of historic and current art. A lot of great work and it looks like the curation has been working to include more
Went for the first Saturday of the month event & it was great !! There was a pop up to support a lot of small businesses which was lovely. There were all types of businesses including food, clothes, crafts, beauty products and much more.
Large museum with interesting items, but the museum layout and curation was lackluster. The stairs were located in the back when you expect them to be more prominent. Sections are strung together without much information to convey the

I love that the Brooklyn Museum always displays different fashion houses over the years. I had the horns of seeing Virgil Abloh's collections. He was so talented, and, unfortunately, he had to leave so soon. More

Boy oh boy did I have a great time at the Brooklyn museum! Very clean, friendly staff & the entire exhibit on Jay Z was one of a kind. Worth the trip to NY
Spike Lee exhibit was DOPE! Spent a rainy day walking around and enjoying my first trip to this museum. The Africa fashions exhibit was also top tier.
An excellent museum with diverse artifacts: from ancient to modern, and from all over the world.
