I made a reservation for an intermediate size car through Costco Travel. When I went to this location to pick up my vehicle, the agent explained that he didn’t have any intermediate cars available and that I would have to get an upgrade to a full size car. He then actually CHANGED my reservation with Costco travel to reflect the upgrade and a higher expense. When I tried to voice my displeasure and confusion with him charging a higher rate than my previously reserved reservation, he explained that because I made a same day reservation, I was subject to paying the higher cost due to him not having the vehicle size I reserved. This is malarkey. Budget and any other rental car companies are known for giving you a free upgrade if they do not have the appropriate vehicle inventory. I have never ever experienced anything like this before. Afterwards, I contacted Costco Travel and they explained to me that the reservation should not have been changed and that the agent essentially committed fraudulent activity. He further explained that their contract with Budget stipulates that if they do not have a certain vehicle class in stock, they are entitled to offer a free upgrade. This is not the service I received! I have contacted Budget customer service and they have explained they will honor my original reservation I had before it was unfairly tampered with. Please be weary of this Budget location. Furthermore, know your rights and read through your contracts! Shaaaady practices here. Patron at your own risk.

Second car in two days and Justin offered a $10 credit. First car check engine light came on not even two hours after I picked car up. Location was closed. Customer service stated they should refund a day due to the inconvenience. I did not drive the car nervous as to what may be wrong. Returned the car and Justin states "I would have drove the car, rental cars are covered you would be fine. Its just the check engine light." I let Justin know at $250/wkly no light should come on on the car let alone when paying for a service you want to make sure the car is in good condition. Justin gives me another car. I get in and drivr off in a rush to my appt which I was already late to due to waiting for their location to open. Arrive at my location look through out the car and its filthy it could not have been cleaned. Further more the perfume smell is so strong I cant stop sneezing. Called customer service waited on hold 30 mins never got a manager only a rude agent. Call Justin he states he didn't know the car wasn't clean and that I should have told him before I drove off. Let him know about my customer service exp he states customer service never leaves anyone on hold he give me another number. Smh that number was to reservations and not customer service. Needless to say I will never rent from this Budget location ever again. I have been inconvenienced two days in a row and no one can help me. Ridiculous.

I've rented cars here several times, but I have come to hate renting from Budget. I've been overcharged the last three times I've rented from them. And I'm not talking a few bucks either...something to the tune of $146 and some change this last time. Seriously, if you rent from here, double check ALL of the math on your receipts. The hourly/daily/weekly rates are printed on the receipt, however I can guarantee that the math won't add up and the fees they spuriously apply won't make sense. Pay extra attention to the tax they charge. NO WHERE IN THE UNITED STATES IS THERE A 15% SALES TAX! Don't try me, because I've got receipts. I'm sure you're wondering why I went back after they tried screwing me out of money, on more than one occasion? For one, they advertise the lowest rates around. THAT'S THE BAIT, DON'T TAKE IT! Also, they're within walking distance from where I live, and since they won't come pick you up, their proximity is appreciated. The employees at the location aren't very friendly, either. They just have generally bad attitudes. You would have better luck renting from Hertz or Enterprise than you would from Budget. I've tried being an understanding and loyal customer, but they don't make it easy. I'm serious about checking your receipt for errors. They will get you if you don't.

I wouldn’t recommend this location. I’ve rented with Avis/Budget at multiple other locations in Houston before and it was always professional and seamless, not the case at this location. I called them reserved online and when I arrived the worker said they didn’t have any cars available and that I could go to another location to get one. Then when I was about to leave he said he could give me a car but it was a downgrade from what I originally booked. He asked me multiple times to leave a review. I was hesitant bc I honestly didn’t have a good experience. But I felt a bit pressured and left a 4 start review. When I returned the vehicle the same man asked me to leave a review for $10 off. I told him I already left a review but didn’t receive anything off. He wanted me to show him the review and kept making comments like I was lying. I showed it to him and he said “oh, you only left 4 stars”. Weird environment in general.

I sooooo wish I could give them 0 stars! I went here on 2 days back to back. The 1st day I called that morning spoke with the customer service call center and somebody at the store location about changing my rental car time they both said it will be fine just come in. I go in and I get there and they EXTRA $100 for my rental. I wasn't gonna pay that so I left. The day I make a reservation later in the day so I wouldn't have the same problem. I arrive on day 2 the man says "you made that reservation same day to we don't have you should have called". How was I suppose to know to call? Where did it inform me to call? The other man tell him to cut me a deal he tells me its gonna be EXTRA $100 again. The professionalism was horrible! Their attitudes horrible. The situation was handled poorly.

John performed RACIALLY DISCRIMINATION! Mother and I came in 4/09/2017 to pick up our reserved vehicle. We waited we were not acknowledge by John the owner and management as he states it. When John finally decided he wanted to assist a customer it was when a Caucasian male walked in the store. John spoke and acknowledge the male customer. The male customer told John that my Mother and I were next and John proceeded to assist the male customer. The male customer repeatedly told John that we were first. John then went over to the male customer asked what did he need help with and walked the male customer outside to assist with his rental.

company uses this location for our in-house rental car service and I have been very pleased with the customer service and vehicle selection since we partnered with them earlier this year. When I requested a vehicle with AWD or 4x4 for business trips to the swamps of Southern Louisiana, Neil and the rest of the Avis Westchase team more than delivered. They also made me feel safe while renting a vehicle during COVID, including a set of instructions on the cleaning procedures that were done prior to dropping the car off. Overall, great experience with Neil and his team at this location.

I had a issue with a car rental and had $400.00 in additional charges. Customer Service refused to help or even listen to my problem so went to speak with Justin the manager at this location and he handled my problem without hesitation. It’s the kind of customer service I praise not because the charges were reverse but he was willing to listen, he understood my frustration and never took it personal. This location employs the nicest people. Sept 2015 my friend's rental got a flat tire. He was on the phone with Budget for over an hour with no help. We changed the tire (thankfully there was a spare) and took it to this location. Within minutes, they exchanged his car and we were on the road! 8 months later, I pick up my rental from the same location. The same friendly gentleman behind the counter. I tell him about my friend's experience here and he remembered us! Great example of customer service!

I DON'T WANT TO GIVE ANY STARS but I'm forced to give one. The guy who answered the phone I believe was Indian just overcharged my card! I have reservation number WITH price attached and he charged me a different price. He hung up in my face and now won't answer the phone after I've called 7 different times and twice from a different number. You better believe I will be calling corporate to report him!!!

It took me 5 hours to reserve my car. I give 3 stars to their website, not the branch itself. Also their online support chat. I give it 1 star. The website did not accept my driver's license number! Are you guys out of your minds? The site froze 4 times while I did it. I tried it on my Macbook, Ipad, Samsung galaxy S.... And where is the 35% discount for the first order? Scam.

Terrible service by Pipin. Reserved a car for pickup, when i got there he said they were out of those cars and that I should have called ahead to make sure. Pipin was super rude and tried to scam me into renting a car twice as expensive. No attempt or possible solutions given. Ended up having to find another place. Beware beware beware.

No cars available at time of pickup. I waited almost 2 hours between sitting and leaving and coming back with no cars available. At the end, the manager said he has a car only to make me pay higher than what I booked for. I declined. You are better off looking to rent a car in another place.

These guys never surprise me positively. They never have the vehicle you reserved a week in advance, this is the 2nd time this happens to me at this location. They provided me with an "upgrade" that had unbalanced wheels, which I had to drive slowly from Houston to Dallas.

They will take your payment and process it for 35 more dollars and not rent you a car if you use a debit card. This review is mainly for their website and not the building. They need to update their system to not accept payment for services and not deliver.
