I needed an appointment set up for my cat who was sick- they were able to see me the next day which I loved. When I go there the front desk girl and the techs were very nice and loved on my cat Molly. My complaint is not with the staff but with Dr. Cook. He came in and immediately started just feeling on her- he didn't introduce himself, he didn't ask me any questions, he didn't try to pet her to make her feel more comfortable- he sucked. His 'exam' lasted like 2 minutes and he wanted to get blood work to figure out what was wrong with her- which i said okay to since I'e had blood work done for her many times in the past since she's 12 years old. Then the front desk girl came in to go over pricing with me for $400+ for the entire vet visit- THAT"S WAY TOO MUCH! I told her they could do everything but the blood since it was $250- again this should not have been that high, you can get blood tests for more than 50% off at other vet offices. Dr. Cook then came back in and asked if "we were okay?" What? I told him, "yeah we're fine, but I'm not paying $250 for blood work." He then just gave me a med for my cat saying it might work and I paid $138 for basically nothing. When I left I called Coastal Vet Clinic and asked what they charge for the blood work Dr. Cook wanted to do and they charged $112 (less than half the price Dr. Cook wanted to charge). I took my cat there that afternoon for Coastal Vet Clinic to check her out and they were much more friendly the Dr. had a very nice bedside manner and was able to address my cats issue without blood work actually. And she is almost back to her normal self. I will never step foot into Butler Animal Clinic again.

I’ve been going to Butler Animal clinic for several years now. They are really good about getting you in on a timely manner, as well as having friendly staff. Not a fan of Dr. Cook though. He talks down to you and he is always pushing you for that extra dollar, prescribing food that he’s incentivized to sell that never seems to help, and recently stating that my dogs are too aggressive to give treatment for. I am not sure if there was a bad experience where someone got bit or something, but in my last visit my dog made a whimpering noise and was a little squirmy, but he showed no teeth, no growl, and dr. Cook took that as my dog being too aggressive to put some ointment in his ear?? He said he needed to sedate him. It’s always some sort of plot to get extra money. The one time he had a little growth on him, and they said they would remove it for $800. It literally fell off two weeks later. . You cannot walk out of here for less than $200. Not even for routine checkups, he will try to do some sort of test on your pet that costs you. I do not recommend. Enough was finally enough for me, I made the switch to another vet.

We live across the street from this vet, and when our dog had an emergency, it was an opportunity to try them. I thought very highly of Dr. Cook, he’s friendly and professional. Our dog ate some fabric and he was given 2 X-rays, for $85 each. The perplexing part was the additional fee of $85 to have a radiologist read them. Isn’t that what a vet does? I find that to be an excessive charge. To have our dog looked at, and have X-rays cost $333. I was told to bring him back the following day for an additional X-ray to make sure the intestines were clear and they were. I declined the radiologist reading for the $85 and my additional visit was $65. Taylor, my first point of contact was absolutely amazing, very caring and kind. I would go back just for her and Dr. Cook. The other women in the office were mechanical and not genuine, that was a disappointment. I give 3 stars because it’s very expensive, even figuring the high overhead for vets, and the lack of warmth from the office staff except for Taylor and Dr. Cook.

I've taken my German Shepherd here a few times, but today was for sure the last time. Dr. Cook was rude when explaining things to me and did not make me feel like a valued customer at all. This place is on the higher spectrum for prices and all they want to do is up sell you. I came in last week and they told me I had to reschedule and buy medication to calm my dog down which is fair, however, when I came back today Dr. Cook looked at my dog for less than 3 min and then recommended more expensive meds and extremely expensive dog food which I was able to find both online for less than half the price when I got home. The only positive take I have from this experience is the vet techs; they were extremely friendly to me and my dog and also provided more insight about my dogs situation before I left. I highly recommend going some where else.

AVOID!!!! Since it is very close to us, we visited this clinic with our dogs several times. Several of the times of the care and service was just ok though they seem on the pricier end of spectrum (always upselling too). We have never seen the same vet twice (only one there at a time) which I think is pretty telling as a red flag. My last experience was so egregious I left mid-appointment. The staff was exceptionally rude from the outset and I was afraid of even letting them try to continue to examine our dog as she is anxious about the vet to start with and they seemed in no mood to be patient and careful. We will be finding another vet who values service and quality care. You might want to save yourself the lesson and do the same.

Literally the best veterinary clinic we've ever taken our pets to. Lucy and Gigi love it here. The doctors are top notch and very thorough and the staff couldn't be more friendly. Our pets feel like they are right at home and run to the door every time we go. They love hanging out with the girls, who take such great care of them. The prices are very affordable as well. Whenever we've taken our pets for care, we've always received a phone call from Madison or Taylor to see how they are doing and a reminder to have them come in for a return visit for a check-up. We also can't say enough about the grooming and daycare. After their day at the spa, they look like movie stars. Thank you so much for loving our animals as much as we do.

Really Great Staff! They truly care. Compared to my prior Vet who has a rotating door of staff the size of 20+ people and owning several clinics. I rarely had a chance for him to physically view my animal. I also had several bad experiences (San Marco Animal Hospital), so I have been on the lookout for a new vet clinic. Having my senior pet evaluated by a small staff who by my research is pretty permanent at the clinic. They also watched him for the day while I was at work post his appointment which was super helpful. I really loved how Dr. Cook took the time before leaving to discuss my pet's exam. Overall, really great experience. The vaccinations for life is a great deal too.

We were searching for a vet to not only see our two dogs for an annual visit, but become their regular provider. After calling all around the area and either not being helped or not being answered or being offered appointments well into next year, Butler Animal Clinic answered, spoke with me about the dogs’ needs and asked when I wanted to bring them in. Only days later, I took both dogs to the office and was excited to see a friendly, professional office who explained what would happen during the visit. The doctor gave both dogs a thorough exam, told me the results, and asked if I had any concerns. They are our new family vet!

This clinic is top notch! In the two and a half years we have been here we had yet to find a vet we really like and felt comfortable with. We came across this vet when we had gotten a new puppy. I only wish we would have discovered this clinic from the beginning. It is a bit far out from where we live, but is WELL worth the drive. The clinic is very clean and always smells clean and fresh. You would never know they take care of animals. The staff is wonderful! They are all very friendly with us and our pets. They remember who you are and your pet. They are very well priced with their services as well.

Our Bear (male cat) wasn't doing well and it was Saturday but Butler Animal Clinic was our saving grace. They did a thorough and professional job of diagnosing and treatment for Bear. They really seemed to be a caring and loving clinic and we would have no hesitation to take him back for future care. The entire staff stepped up and pitched in to help. Thank you Butler Animal Clinic for your genuine concern and care of our Bear. We can't tell you how much we appreciate what you did for us. We'll see you in two weeks for our follow up. I highly recommend them for your pet's medical needs.

I took my dachshund, Stella, to Butler Animal Clinic when she was bit by a cotton mouth snake on the face. I had only lived in Jacksonville for a week and did not have either of my dogs set up with a vet yet. The girls up front immediately took Stella from me and brought her in the back without question or delay to start treatment. Not only did they comfort Stella, they comforted me as well. They are a kind and caring group of people and I will forever be grateful to them for saving my dog's life.

Me and my roommate have 4 cats, the people here are so kindhearted, heartfelt, informative, very professional, and overall the ONLY place we will ever go to. If there are charges and you have questions, they will have answers. They give you every possible choice, and chance to do what is best for your animals. They are very well educated and very helpful with questions you may have. I 100% recommend this place and wouldn't have anyone else.

EDIT: I feel like the service has gone down since we first started coming there several years ago. They have had a lot of Drs in and out of the business which makes it hard to feel like your pet is being seen by the same DR consistently and their follow-up is lacking. They also dont carry as much product as other clinics which was inconvenient. Since our pets have passed we will be at another clinic moving forward with our new furbabies.

We take both of our dogs here, they’re all amazing! As soon as you walk into the doors Madison and Kim up front are there with smiles, they make scheduling easy and convenient to your schedule, to when you’re in the room itself with Dr. Cook! He explains everything thoroughly and to a way you understand. You can tell he’s been doing this for a while and he’s passionate about animals health! If you’ve never been here you should!

Always a friendly Staff waiting to greet you and your animal . Our Dog gets so excited to see the girls here it’s hard to control him . Dr. Cook is a Awesome Veterinarian treating your animal like his own & is always available to talk to you should you have a question. We have been using this place for about 2 1/2 years . My dog Romulus had his first visit with Dr Cook and his staff recently. He is an extremely nervous and fearful dog and they handled him so well. They were very gentle, patient and understanding. I appreciate the care they gave him and we have even been back for a second visit for grooming and teeth cleaning. Romulus and I highly recommend Butler Animal Clinic!

Not happy on my experience at the clinic. Doctor does not communicate and seem to not care for my pet. Suggested right away that my pet need x-ray. Without giving me a digital copy for my keeping. I'am not happy with this clinic. Staff is good but Doctor does not have good vibe with my first meeting with him. Will not recommend this clinic to animal lovers.

We have been taking our Irish Setter, Piper here for about a year now, for vets visits and boarding. Butler provides excellent service all the way around. The staff is wonderful and Dr. Cook is an awesome veterinarian! We are so grateful for the care they take with Piper! Thank you Butler Animal Clinic for always making us feel at home when we are here.

Butler Animal Clinic is the best! I bring both of my babies here (Malshi & Mini Poodle) and they are always well taken care of and loved on. Any questions I have are always answered and the ladies in the office are amazing, they always make us feel comfortable. Dr. Cook is very knowledgable & trustworthy, we’ve had only positive experiences here!

2/25/23 First time Visit for a physical exam. I was referred here by 2 different neighbors for their pricing (dental services) and pleasant office staff. I wasn’t disappointed. Next week my baby gets a much needed dental cleaning. I’m hopeful that all goes well with the procedure. Mostly that I’ve found a vet that can meet meet and Maxx needs.

We absolutely love this vet! We just moved back to Jacksonville from Tampa, where my daughter is a vet tech. I was so nervous trying to find a new doctor to take care of my 18yr old cat with renal and heart issues and my 12yr old cat who loves to eat and is on a diet. Bulter Animal Clinic has taken amazing care of my fur babies.

Took my dog here from going to another Veterinarian for 9yrs and can say I'm IMPRESSED! They double checked her vaccination records by phoning the previous clinic which was a good thing because her "postcards" claiming she was due for a Rabies vaccine was incorrect. All the staff is friendly and Dr Cook was very informative.

Dr. Cook and his entire staff at Butler Animal Clinic are superb!! They are kind, compassionate and dedicated medical professionals. Dr. Cook and his staff treated our 15 year old Scottish Fold like she was their own!! It doesn’t get much better than that!! We love Butler Animal Clinic and Dr. Cook!!! Highly recommend!

The best animal clinic my pets have ever been to. They care so much about the animals, give out phone numbers to check in on animals often after procedures/vaccines, and my pets are at ease in the clinic. Madison at the front desk is amazing. Couldn’t recommend a better, more trustworthy place to bring your pets!! :)

Butler Animal Clinic is the best. They have helped my animals for years now and I'm so grateful to them. If it wasn't for them I don't know what I do. I was distressed about a puppy and they eased my anxiety my stress and helped my little puppy to get better. You have any issues with your pet this is the place to go.

I’ll never take my dog to this vet ever again! I took my small Shih Tzu in for his annual physical and shots and more Trifexis. They charged me $487!!! This is ridiculous, I’ll never take my dog there again. Dr. Cook is arrogant and he will talk down to you. The techs were great!

Called in about getting my puppies vaccinations up to date and they got me in the same day and Dr. Cooke coached me through raising the puppy from feeding to crate training and chewing/biting. Everyone was awesome from Madison at the front to the vet techs in the back!

All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They made sure to answer all of my (many) questions about my new puppy and even offered addition informational pamphlets on training questions that I had. Glad to find such a great vet for my new dog!
