Twice in two weeks we have had major issues getting vital prescriptions filled at this location. Firstly, I did notify the provider to send my scripts to another location, they sent it to the wrong one and that is on the providers. Two weeks ago I had an urgent care appointment at 9 am, I did not get to this location to pick up my prednisone until 6, when my husband could drive. They had not even looked at my script to fill it. They had 9 hours. Then made me wait another 45 minutes while they filled it. Last week I needed a refill on another prescription that I cannot miss doses on without terrible side effects. My provider sent the prescription to this location by mistake. It was sent over on Friday, and as of 6 pm today had not been filled, and they had closed the pharmacy hours early. So we called another CVS (the location it was supposed to go to) and they could see the script but could not pull it to their location because it was still “in processing” at the Southport road location. We had to call CVS corporate and demand they do an override so that I could get my medication today. You are screwing with peoples’ health here folks. Medications are time sensitive, not a whenever you can get to it thing. If you don’t have anyone to work at this location then shut it down until you do. Do not continue to accept scripts that you know damn well you are never going to fill. We will be filing a complaint with our insurance carrier, and will all other applicable entities because this is absolutely inexcusable. Covid or not. There are things you can do, like closing a location and shifting employees to another store, to ensure that people can get their medications.
I have been coming to this pharmacy, through the drive-thru, for many years, in my silver Fiat. All of the Pharmacists have been, and are, the nicest, most helpful, and most understanding folks ever!!! I had to stop going to this location, ONLY because I now work in a different part of the city, and this locale is way out of the way for me.. I really miss talking with them. I cannot say again, how nice they all are. Many times, when my son was very ill, we had mix-ups in scrips, amounts and all kinds of things, all from the Dr. we were seeing at the time, per his medications. NONE of them were ever put out or exasperated with the mess ups that occurred, again because of the Dr. we were seeing at the time, they would just give us an ETA on when to come back by to get the right thing, after they called and spoke to the Doctor's Nurse assistant. I just cannot say enough how great they all are. Great staff. HIGHLY recommend.
I went in the store this afternoon to buy vitamins which were marked “buy 1, get 1 free”. I went through the candy aisle and saw bag that were marked “buy 1, get a 2nd for $1.00”. Ringing my purchases through the self-scan, it looked like I was being overcharged after applying my $10 Care Pass. A CVS employee came over and cancelled the transaction, saying she would ring up my order at the register. While she was ringing up my items, she informed me that the sale tags did not go into effect until the following day. Why would you place a sale tag on something if it’s not on sale that day??!! Can’t you have a couple of employees come in a couple hours early on the day of the actual sale and place the tags instead of duping the people who happen to come in the day before?? Does anyone else think this is a rather unethical practice, or is it just me? Needless to say, I was not a happy camper when I left.
Have been dealing with CVs pharmacy at 1299 W Southport Road, Indianapolis, IN 46217 since our insurance stopped using Kroger pharmacy. Since then, it’s been a challenge to get the prescriptions. Every time we went to pick them up, we’d have to wait or come back later. Today they crossed the line. My wife went to pick up our prescriptions and when she asked why they weren’t ready, the staff behind the counter got aggressive and rude. Calling her names and asking why we just didn’t have them delivered. That’s it. Having all our prescriptions transferred somewhere else. Anywhere else!! Can’t believe that! She had to take her nitro because they gave her chest pains. She has a heart condition for crying out loud!! But they know that. They fill the meds!! Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time with this place.
I've been going to this CVS since I was a child. They are like family. Rhonda, the manager, is AMAZING and always greets me with a smile and wave when I come in. If there's every any problem, she is RIGHT ON IT! David is the man! I come in A LOT (I am always there to pick up my parents prescriptions). I see David there almost every time I come in. I swear, he must work 7 days a week. He's such a hard worker and is always super helpful and pleasant to be around. The pharmacy staff are AWESOME, as well. They are ALWAYS swamped, however, whether it be the drive thru, or coming into the store, they do their very best to get everyone taken care of in a timely manner....and with a great attitude, I might add! LOVE THIS CVS AND WILL NEVER USE ANOTHER!
On the phone for two hours trying to fill a prescription that I can't do on line. Had to go to the store to ask them to fill and told they don't answer the phone because to busy. Short of help. Had to wait to get it until the next day. Badly needed medication. Had to stand in line 45 minutes just to request a refill. Because of my back issues I can not stand. Therefore Had to lean on the shelves. When I got out of the store I noticed I had dirt all over me from leaning on the absolutely filthy shelves. This store is so dirty. Even all the items on the shelves are covered in a thick layer of dirt. Go through this with them every Month now and done. This store is the worst CVS I have ever been to. Will be moving all my business to Walgreens.
I would highly suggest that you get whatever prescription you need filled from a back alley drug dealer, then go to this pharmacy. The pharmacy tech as well as the pharmacist does not care. I waited six hours for an inhaler !!! When I could tell that the tech wasn’t interested in helping me, I asked to speak to someone else, and he hung up. When I spoke with the pharmacist about his behavior, I received the exact same level of care and concern. I have a feeling a drug dealer in the back alley of the dirtiest parts of Indianapolis would be more interested in you being a customer, then the pharmacy at the CVS at Southport and bluff. On a different note the CVS at County line and 135 incredibly helpful. I had my prescription in 10 minutes.!
If I could give 0 stars I would. My father is a cancer patient and we have had nothing but issues getting his necessary and emergency scripts filled. It is a constant game of calling to make sure they got the script, waiting over an hour (sometimes 2) to confirm they received the script (which is usually "we can't locate that in our system" and then confirming with the doc that it was sent and calling back. More than once this has caused my father to go all weekend without needed pain management medications. I understand staffing shortages, but this is unacceptable. I have never been to a CVS that was so poorly managed or unorganized. After all of this, my family will be looking for a new pharmacy.
Staff in front are great...pharmacy, not so much. I can't even begin to go into the details regarding all of the problems I have had with not just this location, but CVS as a whole. I am forced to use them and Caremark for my prescriptions, and I hate it. If it were up to me, never again would I use their pharmacy. Most of the techs have foul attitudes, they mess things up regularly, have accused me of fraud when I am the one who reported potential fraud to them, and the list goes on and on. Worst company pharmacy I have ever used. Only gave 2 stars instead of 1 due to pleasant front-store staff. Avoid CVS for your medical needs if you can!!
Warning: CVS does not price match their own prices on their own website. I went to purchase a couple items that were $28.99 on the cvs website. Put in the zip code to make sure it was in stock and it showed the producers were in stock at the Southport CVS. So I drove over and pick them up but they were $34.99 in the store. I asked the cashier and he said they don’t price match their website. I showed him that it shows if it’s in stock or not at this particular store so how can you not price match? He said ok, let me try to price match. He calls the store manager and the manager says the same thing!
Worst experience trying to get necessary medication for my health...The medication wasn't filled this morning even when I got a text alert saying that it was ready for pickup. I was already late for work so I decided to pickup the medication at a later time instead of waiting another thirty minutes. I go to pickup the medication at the later time. I was the next person in line and they refused to serve me because they were going to lunch. I didn't see any posted lunch times...So another wait for medication that I was supposed to already have, now with two missed doses.
The worst CVS location I've seen in any state. The pharmacist is extremely rude and dismissive. I moved across the country over 6 months ago. This pharmacy continues to fill my prescriptions without my request or approval. Then I have to sit on hold for over 20 minutes to get a pharmacist on the phone who says it won't happen again (it always does) and promptly hangs up without any kind of acknowledgement that the conversation has ended. Today was the third time I've made the same request. Stop filling my scripts. I guess maybe the third time's the charm.
Gave my son the wrong liquid medication! I caught the mistake because it was a different color. It’s scary because a lot of liquid meds don’t have a color to them, so you just have to trust them. The pharmacist was amazing and said we needed to be compensated. The higher ups called me and just apologized, nothing else. They are also extremely slow, the drive thru is often closed, and it takes days to weeks to get your meds ordered (even if they are on auto refill!). Don’t waste your time here!
It takes days to get 1 prescription filled unless you ask them about it or remind them that it’s been in process for 2 days. Then it may take hours or another day for them to fill it. They are clearly understaffed and overall morale / attitude could be better. I will be switching my prescription to somewhere else the next chance I get. My mom has had multiple prescriptions filled and ready in hours time at meridian and county line. They seem more organized and overall better attitude as well.
My wife had surgery and was discharged from the hospital with a prescription that could only be filled at CVS because of insurance. We hustled to get to CVS by 6:00 on Saturday after being discharged and got there at 5:50. We were told they couldn't help us because "it takes 3 minutes to open the safe," so they couldn't fill our prescription in time. I'm very angry because my wife really needed meds. I also feel bad for the pharmacy tech who I guess can't count to 24 in seven minutes.
I think when suffer from a chronic illness it is important to have a Healthcare team you can trust. Tad has been my pharmacist for 12 years, I originally saw him at another location, when that location closed I followed him to Southport. Tad is a wonderful pharmacist who has caught possible drug interactions for me. The local is very busy because patients followed Tad and the crew. Please be patient, you are in good hands
This is the worse CVS I've ever been to. Rude pharmacy tech lady who put you on hold for 30 mins when you call. Then when I went in to get my meds I had to transfer money from my savings to cover it and the pharmacy tech had the nerve to lecture me while I transferred the money (took less than a minute). I'll likely never go back to this CVS despite it being in close proximity.
I wish I can give negative 5 stars..... they made me wait 20 min after my appointment time (came 5-10 min early) for a flu shot... then they asked to wait another 20 minutes (no customers at line)... horrible experience... flu shot should not take more than 5min....the pharmacist is very rude (don't care attitude)... other staffs seems to be fine...
I went to a med check today, and apparently this CVS doesn't have amoxicilin or ear drops. Talked to three pharmacists so far to see if any other CVS may carry it. Im in so much pain. I've had six scripts this week, and all of them had to be special ordered. I have a double ear infection, as well as a treatment process for a GI issue.
I can absolutely see how this store has 1 star. The girl who checked me out at the pharmacy was extremely rude. I will never return. I’d rather drive farther away, than deal with that. I understand that people have bad days and/or don’t like their job. That is no excuse to be rude, especially when someone is not rude to you.
The staff at this CVS are really nice up at the front. I only say this because i haven't really had to go back and talk with the people in the pharmacy part of the store. The staff up front are very friendly, and they like to try to make your time easy. They are very helpful. At least this happens when i'm there.
Honestly don’t know why this CVS has a 2.8… I live right by this CVS - it’s my pharmacy, it’s where I print pictures, and I shop here sometimes. It’s totally fine. I’ve never had any issues. Sometimes the pharmacy is busy but thats how it is everywhere…. This CVS is fine, don’t be freaked out by the reviews.
This CVS pharmacy was "taken over" by the staff from the now closed Thompson & US 31 store. This has made a big difference in its level of functioning as they're not longer severely under staffed. They also got a new 3rd computer so staff aren'tt waiting to get on. The store is kept clean and stocked.
Customer service at the pharmacy is terrible, basically lied about the process of transferring a Rx to cut corners and avoid doing their job. I’m sure they deal with rude and frustrated customers all the time but that is no excuse to be rude to other people who just need their medication.
I got a text that insurance wouldn’t cover one of my prescriptions. I called like the text said to do if I had questions. After 5 minutes on hold, I was cut off. I am currently on hold again and it’s been over 5 minutes. Stay awY from this pharmacy if customer care is important to you.
I had a great experience at this specific, CVS store tonight and just wanted to say thanks! An employee, Kyle went out of his way to help me download the app to my phone and showed me how to use it. To top it off, I ended up saving a lot of money because he took the time to help me.
HORRIBLE!!! It takes over a week to get scripts filled. I waited on a hold for over an hour and a half before going into the store for help. Once there, the line went all the way through the front of the score. People reported they had been standing there over an hour
After a year of having poor service at the pharmacy I’m looking for a new CVS. I’ve been a customer since they opened. I’ve had many errors and delays every time I fill a prescription. No accountability or apologies for mistakes. Would not recommend this store.
The pharmacists are wonderful and helpful. There is one tech that is rude condescending... just hope you catch her in a good mood, which is rare. She questions you based on your prescriptions and highly judgemental... extremely surpised she's still employed.
The pharmacy staff was so helpful yesterday in getting a prescription transferred to their store from another CVS location. They went above and beyond to help me, and I appreciate it so much! This pharmacy team really cares about their customers!
Pharmacy is usually very slow... Not enough people working. They also keep messing up my prescriptions. I've been on hold for 15 minutes... And STILL WAITING... To talk to someone about fixing their latest mistake! We will be changing pharmacies!
This CVS pharmacy is the worst one I have ever been to. I went in three different times to fill in three different prescriptions all of which they said weren't in their system. At some point you realize they just don't carry medicine apparently.
I needed passport photos and discovered this is absolutely the best place to go. I tried Staples, FedEx, Walgreens (who actually did a terrible job) until I found this CVS. Koby is a pro and really hooked me up. I got great results.
I have went to this location 4 times to get one prescription. The line is always halfway through the store, they are closed, or it isn't ready although I received a message that it was. I'm just changing my pharmacy to Meijer's.
Great customer service. Sam transferred my prescription and filled them very quickly. Very pleasant and courteous. I have recently moved to south side and really really appreciated the customer service
I normally do not write reviews. This CVS has sent me text messages the last 4 months stating that my prescriptions are ready for pick up. When I go to the pharmacy they have not been ready 1 time.
I recently switched to this CVS pharmacy. I can’t remember a time where I have had better service at a pharmacy. The pharmacist and the tech are super nice and very informative.
Can't hold things against people forever. They were rough a few months ago for almost a year total but they've managed to clean things up and get on the ball on ordering meds.
Decided to print some pictures off my phone and didn't know I couldn't use coupon in store. Manager was very helpful. Definitely will go back for my other photo needs.
The timeliness for filling prescriptions was too slow (well over 24 hours). If you need a prescription necessary for surgery or recovery, this is not the store.
Worst pharmacy service. Don’t try to call, you will wait 30 min- over an hour and they will pick up and hang up after the hold. Never get scripts filled in time
I have used their pharmacy for the last few years and almost every time they screw up my prescription. I will be using a different pharmacy from now on.
The pharmacy has been understaffed for MONTHS. Forget about the drive up EVER being open. Get your prescriptions literally ANYWHERE but here.
I always seem to get the same pharmacist/pharmacy tech. She goes to the trouble to find discounts on prescriptions and is always nice.
This store is outdated. Time to change the layout. Pharmacy seems to struggle in quicksand. The customer is coming up short here.
Some of the pharmacy staff were completely rude and inpatient I for one will not go back ever and will not reccomend to anyone.
I started coming here in October 2021. Overall everybody working there has been helpful and friendly. Overall above average.
This is the best CVS store in town. Always pleasant staff, and the best pharmacist in Indianapolis. Thank you!!!
Poor pharmacy customer service from Laura. Store is otherwise average cvs. Transferred to Walgreens
Some of the pharmacy staff is rude and condescending. Staff at the front is friendly.
Good pharmacy, they had quick service and the staff were very friendly.
Slowest pharmacy ever. And the drive thru it takes 20 minutes per car…
We use the drive thru window usually. Always a short wait.
I've tried 4 times today to try and talk to the pharmacy
Pharmacy hours are 9am-6pm on Saturdays
One of the better CVS stores/pharmacies
The weight could have been better
So nice and so fast...
Kind helpful people
