"Food here was alright but nothing truly special especially for the price"
"We stayed the night at the Standard and decided to try the Cafe for breakfast on a Monday later in the morning around 10"
"Just had brunch here and was very disappointed"
"Super cute gem of a restaurant! Food and drinks were very very good! The lobster bisque was a dream, the burger was very hearty and fresh and the fries that came with it were tasty!! The one thing that struck out to me, and the reason I’m writing this review is due to the integrity of the kitchen! We ordered the octopus and when it came out, I was a bit disappointed because I noted that it was a rather small portion"
"Normally the standard is a solid breakfast spot"
Food here was alright but nothing truly special especially for the price. We came here for dinner. Biggest surprise was the menu we received was about half of what's listed on the website which was a bummer (ex: Mushroom Terrene wasn't available for us to order) but this could be chalked up to the fact it was Thanksgiving day. Items we ordered as of 11/2023: - Gnocchi - Cooked well but the portion size was pretty small especially for the price we paid (it's not listed on the online menu but we think it was over $20). - Café Burger - $26 - Pricey burger but came with a lot of fries. Wasn't a huge fan of the peppercorn aioli unfortunately (reminded me of a thick aus ju). I'd recommend asking them to hold off on the sauce or have it on the side). - Classic Caesar - $18 - This was good. Well dressed and good size. Didn't really taste the anchovy in the croutons though. - Sorbet - $8 - Mango sorbet was good as was the strawberry (really can taste the fruit). Good palate cleanser! - House cookies - $8 - Disappointing as it was 3 small cookies and they were on the harder side. Didn't seem to be freshly made (to me anyways). Overall it was okay. Prices are typical for hotel food.

We stayed the night at the Standard and decided to try the Cafe for breakfast on a Monday later in the morning around 10. The vibe is trendy and the decor is nice. I have to say that the waitstaff/servers were not very friendly and seemed uninterested in diners as they walked in. There are seats at the bar and small round tables along the wall. Several tables were occupied by people no longer eating just doing work on their computers, for such a small location I would think they would keep more tables available for diners and not people using the location as their office space. We sat first at the bar (the bartender) had his back to us for almost 10 minutes before we finally asked for menu's and coffee. A table soon opened up so we moved, again sitting for over ten minutes before being acknowledged. Finally a different server came over and said they had to brew more coffee. The food did come out fairly quickly after that but the follow-up service for more coffee/water was lacking. We had a variety, omelete with mixed greens, croissant egg sandwich and irish oats which were all very good. We enjoyed our stay and room at the hotel, I just think their restaurant staff needs some improvement in service.

Just had brunch here and was very disappointed. I held the Standard to a higher... well, standard. Waiter didn’t come for 10 minutes so took a while to order, water glasses smell pretty terrible, like old lard. Bottle of still water was $9! Nine dollars, Carl! Ordered Southern Style Eggs Benedict with a side of avocado and Poached Eggs. The place is understaffed. Waiter was overwhelmed. Forgot the avocado side. The eggs benedict came with some kind of crushed (read: powder) ham over grits which was entirely way too salty and a bit burnt. The avocado came out (it was sliced half of an avocado with a little mound of salt and cayenne to the side) when I was already finished with the eggs benedict, 20 minutes later. It cost $7... for half an avocado... that wasn’t even of spectacular quality. I bet the cocktails are good though, I wouldn’t know because I don’t think I will ever come back. For what it is supposed to be (a $70 brunch for 2 people), this was probably one of the worst experiences in NYC.
Super cute gem of a restaurant! Food and drinks were very very good! The lobster bisque was a dream, the burger was very hearty and fresh and the fries that came with it were tasty!! The one thing that struck out to me, and the reason I’m writing this review is due to the integrity of the kitchen! We ordered the octopus and when it came out, I was a bit disappointed because I noted that it was a rather small portion. However it was still delicious so I didn't really care! But without me saying anything, shortly after someone came from the kitchen with a new octo and told us that the chef thought the last on was small so he wanted to give us another portion complimentary. I thought this was very thoughtful and shows that the kitchen is very thorough about what leaves the kitchen and making guests happy! Will be back whenever I'm in New York
Normally the standard is a solid breakfast spot. Today I had the worst service I've had in awhile -- I ordered the standard breakfast, which comes with coffee + orange juice. When my order came, it only came with OJ. After I flagged down my waiter asking where my coffee was, he argued with me about whether it comes with coffee! I later showed him the menu where it clearly says you get both coffee/oj, and he finally relented and said I wouldn't be charged for it. When the bill finally came, the coffee was still charged and I had to get them to fix it. A simple black coffee came 40 minutes late after a lot of trial and tribulation. Very little remorse shown and didn't comp me for my trouble.

I was originally going to NarcBar (they're Gold Standard cocktail is perfect), but they were not yet open. I gave the cafe a try and received excellent service at the bar top. The tenders were friendly and relaxed. The drink I had was interesting, though not my favorite (sadly I don't remember the name), but the pulled pork sandwich I had was incredible. A melange of flavors, not too spicy with the mustard, and a bit of sweetness in the bread. The salad was a bit too bitter, maybe add in some fennel or radishes to offset the bitterness of the greens?
I dined here with my family on Saturday and it was a great experience! My father has a severe allergies which makes it tough for us find a place to eat out. Matteo my server and the manager Fee were very accommodating and kind. Fee went above and beyond and spoke with the chef and they gave us a couple options that worked for him. Cocktails were great, food amazing too. Thanks for being accommodating, we will back!

Cafe Standard is really enjoyable. A limited menu but excellent food. I realize it's NYC but a lunch with a Turkey Club and a Caesar/salmon salad and no alcohol is steep at $70 (w/tip). The sandwich also had way too much bread which hides the quality of the turkey and bacon which were fantastic. Atmosphere: 4.5 very cool and laid back Service: 4 Food: 4 Value for experience: 3

Great spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Outside is best but on a rainy Memorial Day weekend, indoors works (although they really need to figure out the seating so it’s not so drafty). Food is good - we had the Happy Hour oysters, the charcuterie, fabulous shishito peppers, the crab toast, and they make a great Manhattan. And big shoutout to Taylor - our awesome server (her first day on the job) who got us reseated.
I stayed in the hotel. I enjoyed the Cafe, long walks during day, a great location to eat, chill. Very good cocktails

Cozy space especially as colder months approach. The gnocchi was good. I was hoping for the flat bread to be cheesier given the description. Cocktails were good. Some staff shortage that affected the pace of service but it wasn’t their fault.

Gorgeous little cafe in a really cute area. I hung out here for a bit while we were waiting for our lunch reservation and the staff are just the nicest. The bartender was especially kind, and she let me just read and sip tea quietly instead of pushing me to buy food

I think despite the food just being pretty average fare, the service is excellent. Servers are kind and attentive which is such a plus these days. Their Caesar salad should not be so overdressed making the lettuce limp, that’s my only take away. Drinks are good, and it’s a pretty decent spot to go if you can’t get a reservation anywhere else.
Such a disappointing place. Looks nice from the outside but the food is not more than ok and super pricey. Came for breakfast, ordered avocado toast with an add on of tomatoes. I was in shock when I got 4 half slices of plain tomato that cost $4! One dollar for each half slice with no seasoning or salt. For sure, I will not visit again.
Fully digging the Miami Vice vibes. Beautiful decor and delicious food. Ordered more than we could handle for two but we couldn’t stop and left super stuffed. The margarita is intoxicating, literally and figuratively. Topher was a wonderful server and if you get him at your table side taking care of you, consider yourselves lucky! More
The rest of the standard (hotel) was awesome, but the cafe folk are just rude. Bar tender glued to her phone ignoring folk that came in, and I was asked what food and drink I wanted before I even sat down. I was in on Tuesday at 9.... Not busy at all

Had a standard breakfast with tea and it was the perfect start to my day. Not too busy, staff was a little hard to track down but they gave us everything we wanted which was great. The interior is eccentricity decorated with plenty to look at. The Bloody Mary was good as well.
We came to Cafe Standard because there has been so much hype over the atmosphere and cafe. Everything about this place is subpar. Swiss Miss makes a better hot chocolate than this place. $20 for two cups of whisked milk sprinkled with cocoa. Do NOT bother.
Great happy hour cocktails, oysters and artichokes. Dinner mussels were wonderful. Here in the east village fir 2 more weeks and will be back fir house signature cocktails +++

Cutest cafe, we had beer but is was amazing. The patio is gorgeous and our waiter was fabulous. On of my favorite places in NY. Very quiet and comfortable. Will definitely recommend this place to others.
The food was amazing. The sundae is incredible. Their drinks are good. The service is kind of here and there. You might get lucky and get a great server but u also might get someone who disappears.
Many many moons ago I use to come here. Im not sure why I stopped - perhaps abuse? Anyways, a new drink menu and several years later, its nice to see that this place hasn't lost touch. …
Food was average (ordered omlet and avocado toast). Extra tomato for the avocado costs 4 dollars, surprisingly it was only 4 slices, not even salted or anything... 1 dollar per tomato slice.
It was just ok. Expensive and not going back. A bit disorganized. You get items served to you that you never ordered. Their kitchen is a bit mixed up at times. Ok, better options everywhere.
Great atmosphere, good level of music and solid happy hour options. Jalapeño infused tequila drink was refreshing with a touch of spice but nothing too overwhelming. Definitely a fun spot!
Nice spot to have a drink before the ahow.

Not bad! The drinks are nice but I would like some more food than bites. If it had a fuller menu, I would have stayed much longer. The team was nice and attentive.
Cool café. The staff are very effecient and polite. Our waitress was very kind and nice to us even on Xmas day. The food is from the Narcissa so the bar is high
Had a great atmosphere, and welcoming staff. Just their for the drinks though which are always good when cold. As for the food I must return

The standard hotels are always nice. This cafe is a great way to get a taste of the hip vibes. Came for lunch and had a really yummy salad.
Nice surroundings, good service, food is fine. Peaceful at 8am on a Saturday with some lovely old school jazz playing. Enjoyed it.
The host Thia was very accommodating with my finicky food choices...:)

Excellent! Lovely space, delicious food and great ambiance. You just try their brick chicken! This is a must go spot in NYC!
Saw the bar man refilling used beer cups not even all done and give them to other costumers, just gross. Never coming back.
We had a great time with my friends over here. Server Taylor was so nice and friendly as well. will definitely come back.

Lovely setting, nice breakfast. Sadly one Server had all the tables and this led to some noticeably long wait times.
the quinoa dish was good but I added salmon to it and the salmon was absolutely perfect! So delicious!
Great design, ideal EV location, outdoor garden with helpful young staff and healthy menu options

Beautiful patio. I just had a drink. Attentive staff. It’s quite a nice place
Great place. Not too crowded. Easy to find. Wonderful staff and music!
The liquor is nice, but this place is more of a bar than a cafe
Bartender unsure of how to make mixed drinks. Stupid expensive.
Nice patio, relaxing brunch spot with great food and service.
The food was great. Good energy. Enjoyed the people watching.
Cool vibe, not too packed. Good for chill after work drinks.
Amazing bartender - Jackson is the best. Great spot.
What a lush and beautiful space! Food was good too.
Liked chiken sausage and fried calamari mostly.
