I really hate it when I forget to take a photo... usually happens when I am into the food. This place was a good find. Got a beet salad, couscous salad, americano and bread pudding. All very good. Would recommend this place if you are in the neighborhood. Funky vibe with great food and music. $36 for everything. A real find.
I LOVE their Moroccan couscous. It’s one of their signature dishes, for good reason. I appreciate that they use fresh watermelon for the watermelon press, and the bread pudding is to DIE FOR. That being said, everything else I’ve had there so far has been pretty average to me. And the service is a little slow sometimes. More
I have been to Cafe Gitane a handful of times, and have typically loved it, but I was a bit disappointed most recently. I ordered the couscous with chicken, which was masssively overcooked and did not taste freshly cooked. I’ll go back, as I hope this was an aberration, because it’s been a solid spot in the past. More
My favorite neighborhood spot of all time. The food is consistently tasty, healthy, wholesome, and well priced. The wait staff are all lovely people that get to know the neighborhood. We went to Gitane in Brooklyn for the first time and the vibe was consistent across locations. Much love for Gitane.
Note: cash-only! ATM available down the street in a market on Prince. Charming little cafe with good drinks and great French-Morocan cuisine. Very good service. Came on a weeknight and it was easy to get a table, but as the night went on it got busier. Will be back for brunch at some point.
Cute little cafe off of Prince Street in SOHO. Tasty food, very friendly and good service, and reasonable prices. Somewhat limited menu however and a VERY tight/crowded space. The baked pasta was delicious - not just a baked mac and cheese for adults (photo included) - would recommend! More
Great small French restaurant worth the stop for unique food. Service was fast friendly and helpful, wine was excellent. Had the spicy meatballs which had good flavor but were not spicy. The breakfast sandwich was outstanding and highly recommended. Overall great place to grab lunch. More
This cafe has always been my favorite place in NYC. our waitress Olivia R is there everytime we go and truly brightens our day. This place is just special. I recommend the baked feta and the chicken sandwich (And ask for Olivia if you want to laugh) More
The food is delicious. Highly recommended the Moroccan Couscous. We added the chicken in this dish and it was nice. The breakfast sandwich that came with the bagette is nice. Sceamble Egg and tomato were together and the bread is so good. More
I ordered baked eggs and it came mostly raw, so I was disappointed. My friends ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was good, and my coffee was good, that's why I'm giving it 3 starts for food. But the worst part was the service. The woman
Interiors are cozy and nice. The service is chipper and friendly. Mocha is good -- not too sweet. And drinks come with complimentary dark chocolate! Avocado toast was fresh and zesty. Baked eggs with salmon was savory and delicious without
It’s amazing how much these folks can do in such a small space! Service was lovely, the fresh presse drinks were so refreshing, their specialty cous cous dish made a fantastic impression as soon as it came out. The combination of veggies,
The classic brunch spot that introduced me to avocado toast! I have attempted to replicate the toast on my own, but it is a standout in how they make the avocado. I’ve been going to this place as a visitor and now as a permanent resident.
Stumbled upon this place and had breakfast. Very cool old school restaurant. Service was great and most of our food was amazing. Baked feta was pungent in the best way. Hummus was light and tasty. Overall we loved what we had to eat only
I am not 100% sure, but I guess this is a Morocco-ish style restaurant. It had an eastern style environment with old fixtures and staff had a welcoming Mediterranean attitude. The place is not fancy but cozy and friendly. Menus and even
Had walked by this place a couple times before finally going in on a VERY busy Sat afternoon (everywhere, not just here). Once we were seated, it took 30 minutes to even put an order in. Even though people outside were getting theirs in
Such a great little hole in the wall! This Cafe has been here since the early 90s and has stood the test of time. It's a lovely little place with a retro theme and a North African/French cuisine. I had the couscous - definitely the best
Set down quite quickly although we were told the wait will be longer. The small plate that the avocado toast was served on, said it all- it was not great. Light spread of avocado on one small piece of bread (that was cut to two)- I was
Edgar Allen Poe once said "In the realm of universal adoration, naught but a striped awning prevails. It beholds the extraordinary and the mundane with equanimity, extending its embrace to all, as if cognizant of our common origin"
It’s a nice buzzing atmosphere place. The food looks good and it’s good - ok for the taste. However i felt like food looks better than it tastes. It’s a little bit bland - I missed richness in flavour and more attention to detail.
People will do anything to make a buck. Save your money and go to a real French restaurant or Moroccan restaurant. This place is fake. The service is horrible. I am French/Moroccan and I know how food should taste like. More
Lovely French-Maroccan restaurant two blocks from the New Museum. Beautiful decor and great service. The salmon I had and the smoked trout bowl my daughter had were delicious. Reasonable prices too. More
Super awesome place!! Very cute Paris/French vibes. Food is absolutely delicious. Servers are very friendly and helpful! Will definitely come back and recommend everyone to come and try this place. More
I really do love coming here for a delicious meal. Everything on their menu taste freaking amazing and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Great place to enjoy a good meal with some close friends. More
it’s great if you like not being attended to by a waiter. not even a glance by any staff member long after we were seated, even though several parties who arrived after us were served promptly
Excellent food and service. Really enjoyed the egg, tomato, parmigian, and sausage sandwich, as well as their coffe. This is a small cafe, so you might end up waiting a little for a table.
One of our go to low key brunch spots in our neighborhood. I recommend outside tables, so you will feel like in Europe☕️ Always a little busy on weekends but we never had issue.
Outdoor dining tables are a bit low for tall people. Service was so incredible, everyone was so darling. Chicken Satay peanut sauce of my dreams. Room temperature stella :( More
Stopped in for a quick bite. It was VERY quick and the staff was welcoming. Small restaurant with a rustic style. Food was very yummy. Glad I came across this spot ♀️!
I encountered to go this place to take a short rest. I didn't expect the foods in this place. However, I was punched in my head due to its berry cheese cake. It was full of
Simple flare casual and cozy. Good lamb sausage and good spice in food. Fantastic hot chocolate. Lavazza coffee. Outdoor seating under sun umbrella. Reasonable price.
Delicious food. I've eaten at the Vinegar Hill location numerous times and love it. Service was slowish, but fine here, which is to be expected at this location.
Very nice cozy place to enjoy great couscous or hachi parmentier. Highly recommend it. Waiters are super nice, recommending the cheescake too of course. More
I love this spot a lot! It’s actually one of my favorite restaurants in NYC! Love the food, vibes and service, it’s always a lovely experience! Always!!
Great little french cafe. The food here is really great. Vegetables are fresh, the serving is beautiful and the service is friendly and professional.
Good service, and food tastes healthy and tasty. Portion is just like any other brunch places. I’d come back when there’s no 30+min wait.
I went twice this weekend, and both visits were lovely. The food was great, but the service was phenomenal. I'll definitely be back.
Food was great to died for but the service what can I say they need more people I think they took forever to get the order . More
I don't know why many people don't eat cheese cake in here. It was best cheese cake I've ever had. I will miss this forever More
Delicious!! Had the waffle and the avocado toast and both great delicious. The restaurant is like vintage, very cool. More
Super cute place, great iced americano. Lovely atmosphere on this street. Friendly staff.

The waitresses here are hardworking women! They remembered me from my last visit months ago.
Pretty outdoor place near soho . We went on Wednesday afternoon and the place was crowded .
Great little cafe. I enjoyed my eggplant sandwich and there’s a nice sidewalk seating area
