More waste more spending……more taxes. Put salt on wounds, energy food prices sky high inflation but City still can’t control spending? Billions $ on Climate Emergency and converting downtown offices into residential condos? Don’t forget here is oil & gas country(Alberta), oil by-product are our bread & butter….roofing/plastic/roads paving/clothing/polyester/shoes/tires/household materials/sidings/car & building materials……etc. No oil no nothing, cost more to build shelters, naked bodies and shoeless on the streets -30C How many councillors(including Mayor) ride bikes to work, they have free underground parking stalls in City Hall. We(taxpayers) have to pay expensive parking….this is why no business traffic in DT. Who like to pay $16 parking have lunch in China town? To bring life back to DT….only 1 solution”reduce parking fee, Saturday all day free(it was free all Weekends 20 years ago) use common sense! Now, we have to pay for parking(monthly)$100-150 near our residence?? Why? We paid for Mayor & councillors’ home security systems and monthly fee at taxpayer’s expenses but we are charged to park our cars at home?? Remember who to vote next civic election!! Vote them out!!!!!

Mayor Nenshi and City Council 2019 Ever since Mayor Nenshi has been in office our city has rapidly deteriorated to look like a third world country. The downtown sidewalks have hugh potholes, are in a state such of disrepair a person could easily trip and break a leg. The C-train route from Canyon Meadows to downtown has old broken down fencing, garbage, deglect and looks like a war zone. And the list goes on and on: the boulevards, trees, neglected landscaping, streets falling apart or what little repair there is looks like someone just threw some blacktop down and left. The various City Departments Heads are not getting anywhere near the money they need to do their job. Taxes have increased under Nenshi at unprecedented rates, and Calgary has the highest city parking fees anywhere in North America. Some of our tax dollars have been spent with Nenshi hiring a whole caboodle of lawyers to keep any complaintants from being a nuisance, where once you would have a fair treatment and resolution to your concerns. And the rest of our tax dollars...where are they going?? Not to keeping up our City and the Departments Heads that need the money to do their job.

nenshi and his artwork that makes no sense "pick one" and the fact that when i moved here 13 years ago there was a surplus of 9 billion dollars in the city and now the city is in debt up to their ears makes me sick, I want to believe it's time for a new mayor, also after seeing nenshi hanging out in China with the Beijing mayor makes no sense to me. Time to go nenshi !!!

Freedoms of speech and protest is what makes Canada Canada and a democracy a democracy trying to silence any voice in Canada is a shame and the mayors office of Canada should resign in disgrace over the library protest bylaw , you can’t take a charter right away with a bylaw

Given the situation we are in I expect more updates on the site for families and outdoor activities we can participate in - also not everyone can afford private camps this summer when parents go back to work?

As owner of A Laptop Shoppe I appreciate mayor Nenshi ,his mantle ,and the amazing work he does managing the many staff and areas of responsibility he oversees for the city of Calgary.

Governments are unnecessary when they can not help people. They should be removed. Hope it happens soon.
