I visited here with very high hopes. Online photos are great, the reviews awesome, local and a shop that seemed to be in-touch with customers. Perhaps my hopes were a little too high. Cleanliness: 5/5 Animal Care: 4/5 Customer Care: 2/5 Knowledge: 4/5 Variety (animals & supplies): 4/5 Pricing: 2/5 I am an experienced amphibian, fish & reptile breeder, with experience in pet shops and markets. I want to take this opportunity quickly to say, I am not actively breeding or selling and thus the following review is unbiased and as part of my global trip around the world reviewing Pet shops and aquariums. Recently visited the store. Cannot fault the variety of fish and other pets, with most in fantastic condition. However, I do have a couple of concerns. 1- A golden rule of purchasing ANY animal is DO NOT pick from any terrarium, vivarium or aquarium with visibly sick or dead animals, for obvious reasons (nobody wants to see their little family at home wiped out after adding a friend). I noticed more than 2 very unwell Yoyo (Pakistani) Loach within 5 minutes of being in the store. 2- Certain animals, well overpriced! To give just one example: Neon Tetras were over 40% more expensive than other shops local to the area. 3- The up-selling is horrific! When you run a business which involves direct selling you want to up-sell. Great, but to offer someone else's ordered item to another customer knowing full well said new customer does not need anything anywhere near as sophisticated as the said item, borders on ludicrous. E.g. Simple UV light requested, 2x priced full spectrum marine lighting system offered. I do give credit for staff's readiness to order specific items in. To be fair I don't doubt the staff's ability to give advice, but at every corner pushing to sell far beyond needs can seriously put new hobbyists off from this otherwise wonderful past time. 4- And finally. NO amateur or professional wants to leave feeling as though they have not been handled with care. Forgetting to pay a customer for an animal they bring in for either exchange, credit or cash is not good, being reminded should be somewhat embarrassing. To be honest, whilst the animals are great, the place clean, the animals cared for, a large variety and number of animals, this place misses a chance to really shine. The staff I encountered did not seem interested in myself as a client/ customer unless it was to sell something not ideal and at times came across rude. This industry is for passionate people with a love for all things of natural wonder, unfortunately the only thing to wonder here is whether you can find a different Campbelltown aquarium.

This is a great pet shop. They really have good service. I got worming tablets for our dog here and they were so much cheaper than anywhere else. They sell them individually and put them into a bag for you. The flea treatment is also cheaper. They care about the animals they have, even the insects. I used to buy grasshoppers for my husbands bearded dragon. When I go to the big chains 1/2 of the crickets are dead, when I bought them here they were alive and chirpy because they'd been looked after. The people also know what they are doing.

I went into the store today. The staff were lovely and everything was perfect. Except the Mexican walking fish. There were about 5 dead ones floating around the tank with mould around them. And then others which I thought were dead, which had no arms or legs, just ruby stumps covered in mould. I felt so sorry for them. Out of maybe the 20 that were in there maybe 5 were looking okay. Every other fish had decorated tanks with rocks. These guys had absolutely nothing.

Had such a great experience with this place! I called up inquiring about a fragile item which could not be shipped. Spoke with Bill on the phone and he was very understanding of the situation. He personally organised special shipping and handled everything quickly (I received my order the next morning)! Very professional, friendly and taking the extra step to help a customer. Overall extremely pleased with the service and would definitely recommend them to everyone!

This shop used to be bigger with a whole store dedicated solely to fish only. Now this shop is mixed with other pet supplies including birds which I rarely find around Campbeltown area. Fishes prices are a bit high comparing to othe fish shops which is why I never bought anything from there. Has a decent fish variety and neat little store for the locals.

The variety of products found here is quite good. They will more than likely be able to help you with your pet needs. They have supplies for a range of different pets including reptiles. The prices are sometimes a little high depending on what you're looking for. Most things are quite reasonably priced though. The selection available will not disappoint.

I have purchased two pets from this wonderful shop. My first was my bunny, 11 years ago. My bunny from here lived to a long life, and after she passed I went back to the same pet store and purchased another bunny. The staff were amazing, friendly and extremely helpful. My second little bunny, I hope, has a long and happy life like my other little one

Sells ferrets at 6 weeks which is way too young, and extremely negectful!!! Feel sorry for all the kits that are going to come out with behavioral issues. In this extremely important social development stage they should be with their mother. Extremely neglectful of your store and the breeder who sold you these poor babies.

Fantastic service. Staff are friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable. Extremely happy in the way the owner was able to price match my new large aquarium which was out of stock on an online store. Ordered one in for me from his supplier. Campbelltow Pet & Aquarium Centre is my preferred choice to shop.

What a charming , helpful, courteous staff member they have His name Ben Hokin I won't be going any where else now Shame the 2 girls at strictly aquariums were too bust talking and looking at pics on phone and didn't want to serve me. Otherwise I would never have been served by such a wonderful person

Really helpful staff, very knowledgeable, and ready to pass that knowledge on to people wanting to learn, whether we were buying or just wanting advice all the staff we have dealt with have been amazing helping us set up our first fish tank. Prices are fair for a small business

Great shop except they should have more of a variety of birds. None of the birds are hand raised/tamed which I am not very fund of. They should definitely bring in some tamed birds I feel like they would get a quite a few more customers. (not that they already don’t)

The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable of their animals. I noted that I thought some hermit crabs were stuck in the corner of their tank, though I was reassured they weren't, the staff member moved them anyway to be more comfortable in their space.

Staff was very friendly and helped me get everything I needed to set up my Betta’s aquarium however my Betta died after only being in the tank for 3 days. Possibly just an unfortunate pick for a first time Betta buyer but other than that they were fantastic

Soon as I entered the store for the first time I was greeted with a warm smile and a good morning from a lady at the register. Great customer experience and competitive pricing which hooks me in. Shame I didn't know this place before.
