I booked the room for my daughters 18th birthday. Her and a friend would spend the night after going to Cowboys. Room was booked in my name because i had to pay but the young women that checked us in knew i wasn't staying. she asked for the name of the guest at the time it was daughter and her friend. Both listed on this little sheet. Fast forward to 215am my daughter calls me in panic... the security would not let her pass as she was not on his list.... how do we know its locked and one can get in after a certain time. Not anything i have experienced before.. Anyways i call the front desk...thinking this should be easy to clear up...as he would not help my daughter. He proceeded to have a attitude as soon as he knew i calling about the girls in his lobby. He would not discuss a reasonable solution he did not have any capacity to come to reason. I had to show up in person with id. I get i could be anyone on the phone but he had my contact info he could have called me. How is it reasonable that i would but her friend on the list but not her, my daughter. She id that matched mine address and last name. When i arrived he proceed to tell me that it was policy again no acknowledgement that someone from their establishment may have made a mistake. He kept waiving and showing a list that my daughter was not one. Not sure how showing me the names of listed guest is not breaking policy but here no there. We asked to speak to manager, who was literally sitting in ear shot just oberserving the entire transaction. He did try to listen a little more then the front desk clerk.. but the front desk clerk proceeded to interrupt me several times as i was speaking (not yelling) then proceeded to call me rude.. when he has had an attitude from the my first words with him. My husband did get a little heated but this towards the end when we could not get any answers where was the sheet we had to put the names on. Both denying any known whereabouts. We decide to leave it was 230 and we were not going to get anywhere. The next day we learn from our daughter the friend who was witness could see the little sheet tuck by the computer screen... clearly the staff should have seen it but from my angel i could not. Now i wait to hear from the GM! The first employee should explained the procedure for late arrivals....she was aware that was the intention. The names should have been added correctly. The night clerk..needs an attitude adjustment and given authority to use common sense and reasoning. Unfortunately this experience took a great night and turned it sour.

Great place to stay at during your visit to our beautiful and scenic capital city. There is beauty and fun to be found everywhere you go, you just might have to be on the lookout more often to find it. Great friendly knowledgeable and courteous staff, always willing to offer a helping hand and a smile and friendly greeting. Never had a bad experience at the CanadInns.

There is shopping within a 5-10 minute drive in either direction. Pretty much any shopping that a person would be interested in. lots of restaurants within the same short drive from kid friendly fast food joints to cafes to classic sit down family or date type establishments and they come in a variety of cuisines to satisfy even the pickiest eater.
Walkability
there are some great scenic walking and biking paths nearby but not very much in the way of retail or shopping unless you want to walk a good 20-30 along one of the minutes in either direction along a very fast and busy traffic route.
Food & drinks
There is a great family friendly restaurant attached to hotel and you can get room service or dine in restaurant. plus you can get skip the dishes or u er eats or any one of the delivery services to bring you whatever might be craving that day from any place in the city.
Noteworthy details
Playmakers VLT gaming lounge is licensed and open until midnight or 2am depending on the day and they also have a limited selection of bar food/snacks and a huge selection of the latest gaming machine.

My daughter flew in from Calgary to see me. We had not been together for months, due to covid. We decided to have our alone time, and stayed all weekend here. We had a wonderful time, all of the staff was really friendly and helpful. As we are people people, and love to make friends, as well as joke around. We got to know each staff person at the front desk, all polite and so helpful. We were at the front desk a lot asking for extra this or that, and we had a ball talking and laughing with them. Very professional, helpful and even went out of their way a few times. Chris was awesome. We clicked immediately with him, he told us where a good mexican restaurant was, and even phoned over there to make a reservation for us! On the Sunday check out day, we first had breakfast in Alto's and Chris came to find us and tell us he was going to miss us. It felted like we were with family, as even our server (Megha ) and us chatted and laughed, she was so sweet and nice! House Keeping was also wonderful. We called to ask for more face clothes " Whenever they had the chance to bring them, they were at our door in 5mins., and also so friendly. The room was comfy and clean. The beds and bedding were a dream to sleep on. Soft pillows and also Air Conditioning was working. I am Norwegian used to the cold, and I can't sleep in a hot or even WARM room, I had the A/C just on low and had an amazing sleep. We are talking about doing this again, next time my daughter can fly in, we will be there! Sincerely, D. Olender

For the quality of rooms/facilities/service, this hotel is overpriced. If you get a room with an indoor window, if you were to open your blinds people eating their dinner can see into your room. Also, if you have an indoor room…zero ventilation with an ancient air unit that does nothing but circulate the stale musty (or mouldy?) odour which is in the majority of the rooms. Also, the noise. Aside from other guests treating the hallways like an indoor track at all hours, there is a popular bar attached to the hotel…so on a Friday or Saturday, I wish you the best of luck with getting some sleep. And lastly, I had the dinner buffet one night. It wasn’t horrible but the options were limited and seemed like they were all bought from the frozen section of the grocery store. I’d say avoid the broccoli/cauliflower dish cause something was most definitely off with it. Oh, and with tax/tip you’re pushing 40$ per person. Just like the hotel, overpriced for the quality of what you’re getting. Overall I gave two stars because staff were pleasant and my room, despite the odour, was visibly clean at check-in. I also want to say, in reading the reviews for the hotel…every single negative comment that got a response from the owner/manager received the same word for word copy and pasted response. This doesn’t reassure guests at all that you’re doing something about the concerns they raise, it does the opposite. I will not be coming back to this Canad Inn location

To all of the staff at CanadInns Windsor Park hotel, from the front desk to housekeeping and maintenance, thank you so much for making our son's birthday “stay-cation” a 5-star experience! We will definitely be back. To anyone looking for a great indoor waterslide or waterpark, do NOT pass this one over. The covered slide is NOT just some dull narrow tube. You can practically drive a car down it, and the translucent cover and skylights let in tons of light during the day, and allow it become more atmospheric after dark. It’s so much fun that you’ll want to ride it over and over. But, adults, just watch your speed the first time (maybe go down sitting up) as the “mountainside” feature hides a surprise or two. The hot tub is also worth mentioning, as it was a such a soothing oasis for me as the kids just kept sliding. And I’m really happy it was open. To Chris at the front desk… just… wow. (I don’t mean to ignore the rest of the front desk staff, you did a great job too, but Chris was the one who set the tone.) You made us feel like we were your only customers, and the hotel’s top priority. If only all people in the customer service industry were trained – or naturally inclined – to treat people the way you do, the world would be an awesome place, and I’d have a much easier time letting go of my worries and my money when taking the family out for a much needed break from the daily grind. Stellar work, everybody!

The room was ok. The barn doors for the bathrooms were very strange, especially in that the door could not be locked. Locks seem like a basic yet crucial feature for a bathroom?! There is no way to hide if you're doing your business and someone decides to come in. We spent a lot of time in the pool area. The slide was mostly fun; it was possible to flip upside down near the drop into the pool, which presented a drowning risk. There was no lifeguard on duty, and no one to ensure people weren't all going down the slide at once. Often multiple people were going down the slide which wasn't safe. We found that pool area was generally in a state of disrepair. There was mould in some spots, the chairs were dirty, the paint was fading, and at one point a bar fell from the ceiling and landed next to some girls who were swimming in the small pool. Fortunately no one was hurt. We checked out thereafter. We discussed with the front desk, and the hotel manager dubiously offered us a discount the next time we came, which won't be happening. I question the safety and cleanliness of this location. Hopefully Canadinns takes note and chooses to take better care of this property. Generally disappointed relative to Canadinns Grand Forks as my only other Canadinns experience which was really good.

Do not stay here! If you want to sleep at night don’t stay here. They let all the people from the attached club run the hallways all night long yelling and pulling the fire alarms. Four alarms pulled between 1-2am and took forever for the staff to turn off and find who was doing it. Then again at 4:45 am again they weren’t concerned about it. In between tons of people that came from the club to stay running the halls yelling and being loud. We had 3 rooms booked and one room the fridge didn’t work, one the heat barely worked and the room was freezing. Definitely NOT handicap friendly, no elevator or way up to the second level where our rooms where for our one person using a walker, ramp into the building was very small and narrow. Restaurant in hotel only open for a few hours in the mornings. Worst hotel we have ever stayed at, and we have stayed at hundreds. Asked for a discount or something upon check out to make up for the little sleep allowed during the nights there, staff at desk “didn’t know how” to do that and said they’d mention it to the manager, I’m sure we will hear from them, ha. Every guest in the hotel that night should be receiving a full refund. So by far the worse hotel stay ever! We will never return there and hopefully this gives others a heads up to not go there either.

We arrived late at night on a Thursday night, the hotel staff was welcoming and friendly. We had breakfast at the restaurant attached, which had great options! On the Friday night of our stay, we came back to the hotel after supper to find total chaos. There was no real indication when we booked that there is one of the busiest bars in the city... attached to the hotel. The fire department was outside and they had carried a girl into the lobby who had over indulged at the attached facility, and were treating her inside the hotel??? After getting settled back in our room, we could hear EVERYTHING. The walls are paper thin, you could hear the people in the next room partying, people in the hallway, the loud thumping of music from the bar. THEN the fire alarm goes off at 1am. We evacuate the building, only to find out that the smoke machine in the bar set off the fire alarm. Luckily, the fire department was still on scene dealing with the other situation that we were allowed back in the building in short order. Overall, I would probably stay here again, i just would never stay on a weekend and I would never recommend someone with kids staying here.

We had a wonderful stay. This location was perfectly placed for exploring Winnipeg. The staff graciously upgraded our family of 4 to a suite upon check-in. The room was spacious and clean and served as the perfect home base for our trip. Every staff member we came into contact with was friendly and helpful, suggesting some great places to see on our trip and even helping us get a provincial park pass printed. The kids had the best time at the pool, especially on the waterslide. The gym was basic, but had everything we needed (the workout mats were much appreciated for stretching!). And our meals at Aaltos were delicious, with quick and friendly service! Kudos to the Windsor Park staff for an excellent job! Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to a friend. My only ask would be for a little more attention in the gym. The wipes for the equipment were dried out, even though the container looked to be full. There was also quite a bit of dust and dirt build up on the bench and on the floor around the weights.

Well that went downhill fast. We went out on the Sat asked for the room to be cleaned. Came back after 8 hours out to a dirty room. Told someone would be in at 7 to clean the room. Nobody comes. Phone back at 730. Told someone would be right there. Nobody comes. Phone back again at 8. Nobody has come. phone back again. Tell them to bring me towels and they can clean up the garbage and towels I have left in the hallway not to bother cleaning the room as we want to relax. Also they unfortunately have a sign on the door to pool that says 10pm closing but they come in and kick everyone out at 930. Disappointing for the kids for sure as that's why we get these rooms. Just got to the pool, based on their posted hours, and got kicked out. Confusing they also have 11 pm posted as closing time on another sign. Sure disappointed the kids. The desk clerk blamed it on covid. Lol. Please update the signs. It's not that much cost... At least tape over it!!

This is my very first review I have ever made. I just don’t won’t other people to make the same mistake and stay here thinking it’s going to be a good stay. Unless you want to party DONT stay here. I was working the afternoon shift so I was in bed when the maids would come. The front desk said they could clean our room in the afternoon but In the 5 days we stayed the rooms never got cleaned once. When we asked the front desk why, all we got was “I’m not sure why they didn’t clean”. If you like drunk kids running up and down the hall and hearing boom boom boom all night long this is the hotel for you. This is for sure a party hotel. Not somewhere you wanna stay if you have to work. Front desk staff did nothing when complaining about the noise. Oh and let’s not forget the cable cuts out every so often.

The staff here makes all the difference. If you ask for anything they go above and beyond to make it happen. Everyone was awesome but- Specifically, Chris, was amazing!!! He made us laugh and feel special and comfortable with every interaction. Will stay here again. And honestly I would come here to visit Chris!! Also at the Altos restaurant we had the same server each day - Megha and she was the sweetest person. I have rarely had such good service before. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Good air system. The pool and hot tub were clean and fun and it’s a large facility. People really do make all the difference.

Reason I’m writing this review is because my boyfriend and I, plus our group of friends came in for a couple drinks. My boyfriend and I decided to get the wings for wing night last Thursday. But to start things off I couldn’t even take my jacket off because it was so cold. Then it took about 15 minutes just to get our drinks. I’m usually not one to complain. But as of Friday early morning, we started to get really sick and nauseous. Come to find we actually have salmonella and haven’t been able to eat since then. Still sick to this day. The service was really slow.. but the food was very fast. Maybe a little too fast (obviously). Don’t think this a place I feel comfortable coming to anymore..

As someone who has stayed in many hotels from living a very on-the-go lifestyle, I’ve had many interesting experiences. This hotel however, has exceeded my expectations and outdone any other place I’ve stayed in. From the front desk workers being immediately so welcoming and kind, to the clean, comfy rooms (which are very aesthetically nicely designed in my opinion, which makes the experience of the stay even greater) and the restaurant being phenomenal, Canadinns Windsor park is hands down one of the top tiered hotels in Winnipeg. I recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay. Keep it up Canadinns Windsor!

The motel is older but has been renovated and is well maintained. The restaurant is beautifully laid out. It serves breakfast and lunch in a general dining area, in a separate room, and in the arboretum. We used a suite for staff and board meetings. For us, it was a cost-effective way of getting our national leadership together. The rooms had smaller bathrooms, and the TV remotes didn't allow connection to external devices. The beds were soft but comfortable. (Be aware that there is a casino attached to the facility. It did not interfere with our efforts.)

Me and my friends had a horrible experience. Dave at the front desk was very rude, used profanity towards us and threatened to kick us out. Horrible customer service from someone who is in the hospitality business. Was made to show our ID’s, never asked what room we were in just wanted to see our Identification when coming back to the room which was never explained to us during the check in process. Dave also ran after my friends and chased them down the hall. Very unprofessional and uncalled for. Hotel smelt awful, bedding was not clean and room wasn’t clean.

I walked in it looked nice then when I went to the reopen it was extremely dark but the blinds were closed so I just had to open them. The room was nice but I did not want to touch the carpet because it looked disgusting. The beds were clean and comfortable. The pool was a bit cold but very nice and the water slide was very fun. Pool was way deeper than I thought it would be (which was awesome) it was also musty for some reason and cold. While I was trying to fall asleep 2 most likely drunk people were going down the hallway yelling about putting ice in a garbage can which made it extremely hard to fall asleep. The beds were really nice and the staff was friendly.

Awe... I live your staff, thank you whomever owns this franchise site. First of all, I love Priscilla... she honestly made me feel so welcome I have changed my favorite cannad inn from Fort Gary to Windsor park. The sweetheart at the front desk Simmone was great... I checked in with a young gentleman who made my stay easy... the gentleman cleaning the washroom was so happy it made me happy... the housekeeping staff was so good and attentive that I was impressed. All and all my stay was incredible, I have never met so many great people at one location. Thank you...

The room was fine. But if your policy is to not let people in unless there name is attached to the hotel room. Maybe set all that up when we check in, it would stop people from having to wait in the lobby at 1am. When we have room keys and know what room we are in. Persons who's name was on the room had to leave cowboys. Then when they went to go back they had to pay to go in. Person at the front desk would not help. All he said was idk how you got the room keys you could have stole them. It's not my problem day staff didn't write the names down.

Over all for $160/night the rooms are out dated with carpets, the air unit was leaking water onto the carpet making it absolutely soaking wet around the bed. There were old blood like stains on the sides of the sheets. My specific room had a window… to the restaurant, so people eating dinner could have a nice view of my room if I decided to have the curtain open. Just doesn’t feel worth almost $200 for one night. Didn’t even include a complimentary breakfast, again disappointing. Probably won’t be staying here again.

Great: pool and waterslide, price Ok: gym is tiny and can only access during pool hours, room is outdated with carpet hills and most of the electrical outlets don't work Awful: room was freezing even though the baseboard heater never quit and heard noise very loud from neighbors and hall even though they were not overly loud themselves, which leads me to wonder if the room simply isn't insulated. I wouldn't come back even though the price and waterslide are great because if you aren't comfortable with the temperature and noise in the room it's simply not worth it

Just finished attending a seminar at this location. When I arrived, I asked an employee behind the counter where I could find the particular course I was going to. They politely answered my question. The conference room clean. The chairs were comfortable for the eight hour course duration. The room temperature was perfect, it did not feel stuffy. Our instructor advised the class at the beginning of the course the washroom closest to us was a mess. However, it had been cleaned by the time I needed to use it. The staff was prompt with the clean up when it was brought to their attention. It was a pleasant experience.

We were celebrating my daughter’s 16th and I have to say that the reason this hotel got a 5 was mostly due to the amazing staff. We dealt mostly with Simone and I cannot remember the name of front counter gentleman that we dealt with but he definitely deserves recognition. He was so kind and was very quick to fill our needs. They even gave my daughter a birthday card and a massive chocolate! I just cannot stress how kind everyone was! The rooms were clean and the pool area well maintained. I don’t have any complaints.

Horrible for a good night sleep!! Our room was right beside the night club which we were unaware of when we booked. We could hear it all night, loud music people screaming, and the girls beside us probably went to the club because they woke us up at 3am with drunken noise, bed was also very uncomfortable with a huge valley in it. Front desk staff compensated our horrible night with only one free breakfast voucher even though there were two of us and refused to give us another, overall horrible sleep not good for a restful night!!

I attended the Windsor Park Canad Inns for an event recently. Upon walking into the building I was surprised how welcoming the atmosphere was, it was beautiful. There was no signage as to where I was going and the woman at the desk must have picked up the fact that I was lost. She cheerfully asked if she could help me at all. She was very polite and helpful in finding where I needed to go. At the end of my event I did not want to leave because the staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is so beautiful. I recommend everyone checks it out!

I hosted my daughter’s 16th birthday at this Canad hotel and we were so pleased with the entire experience. The rooms were spotless and modern with all amenities. The pool was a hit with the teens and the slide was an added bonus. We visited the Aaltos in the hotel for breakfast and the meals were hot and the coffee was strong. All the staffers were friendly and accommodating. One of the best hotel stays I’ve had in Winnipeg by far! Highly recommended!

I haven't stayed here for a night but have used their function room thru our religious community. Ample parking. There are two adjacent rooms in the basement with connecting doors. In the bigger room, there are washrooms inside so that is really convenient. I did not see an elevator so that might be a bit difficult for those who need accessibility. The package includes use of mounted projector, unlimited coffee and tea. Table setting for the evening activity was good. All in all, one may consider this place for their event.

Me and my friends had a horrible experience, the front desk guy yelled at us for not showing our ids after already checking in. The rules of us showing our IDs was never explained to us. When I told him that it wasn’t explained he told me that I clearly don’t know how hotels work. He also sweared at us and that used language that you would never use in customer service.

I'm reviewing this as a restaurant. We come regularly every Tuesday morning to eat and hold a Bible study. The restaurant has 3 areas. The main restaurant is booths. There is a meeting room. (The hotel has other meeting rooms separate from the restaurant). And there is "poolside" which is quiet in the early morning. Which is where we meet. Service is good. The same two waitresses have worked here for a while, so it must be a good place to work.

  • Greg “Bigdaddy” McCorrister

Stopped her for the lunch special , my wife ordered the combo salad and soup and waitress came back said they didn't have what we ordered. Mind you they were just opening the doors after this pandemic lock down, but no excuse they should modify their menu and their lunch crown should be the their target market. Have Change their tea Parker not a good tea. So will not stop here until they get their restaurant up and running properly.

Not going to lie, a little disappointed. The front desk was lazy, he didnt know if we had to bring towels from room to pool or if they had them at pool. I felt like an annoyance to him asking for coffee cups. The bed was cleanish, you could see stains on the sheets. High props though to the extra level of security doors needing key card for access for getting to rooms. Water slide was so much fun and worked.

Stayed here for two nights. We liked the hotel room, the view was a bit strange, we was over looking the kitchen. The first morning we had breakfast it was very nice and service was extremely good. Wasn't overly keen in the check in. We would use the Canad Inn chain again, maybe not this location though

Liked our 1 night stay. Staff that we encountered was friendly and helpful. Two things that keep it from a 5 star are the bed (soft like a deflated air mattress where we rolled into the center!) and the pool temperature (a little too cold).

Excellent staff, when checking in the man at the front was dealing with a few things at once, but still checked us in quickly and was very friendly. Only complaints was that the room was kind of dark and when first entering smelled a little like cigarettes (went away quickly). The slide and pool area was very fun and seemed up to date. Checking out was also quick and friendly.

I’ve never been to this hotel before but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was very clean and neatly organized. The staff were very friendly and offered to help with anything I needed. Beds were nicely made and very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay!

The pool was fantastic, exercise room was okay, the rooms were very out dated and the beds smelled. The reservation was messed up so we were not allowed to stay for the 2 nights we booked. My kids rated the pool/slide 8/10 Rooms 5/10

The staff make the place a 5 star review. Their friendly attitude, the way they welcome you in and make you feel comfortable. The food was great, too! You can tell they work their tails off and it makes all the difference in why I'll go a half hour out of my way to come here. Thanks everyone!!

Great people, great prices . Always a great time. Looking forward to the next visit. Thank you for making me feel at home during my stay. It is always a pleasure to visit. Much thanks to the staff , not only the cleaning but the reception. They do a great job to make you feel at home in times of being away from family. Makes it feel like friends are always there

We were a party of 11 for Sunday breakfast. Only 1 of us was somewhat satisfied with the food. Eggs were way overcooked, hash browns tasted recycled from a previous day. Terrible. I told my friends we wouldn't be back anytime soon. The manager basically turned a deaf ear to the complaint.

The catering service was poor...there was no butter on the table until asked. No coffee service until asked. Then had to remove my own plate from the table because the service was slow. No hand towels in the bathroom to dry your hands. It was not that busy of an event about 80 people but they couldn't keep up with service....very disappointed.

Check in staff is awesome, super helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean. Pool area is great, pool is deep (in comparison to most hotel pools) and the slide is a lot of fun.

Love the bar, Gordy the bartender is so pleasant and very efficient. Food in the dining room is good, order the double smash burger with mushrooms if you want to taste what a good burger should taste like. Overall a very comfortable relaxing place and Marty is great at the race book.

Went for Easter dinner, was disappointed by the food and service. We stood at the front waiting to be seated for a long time before anyone even came to great us. The food was bland and cold. There was no replenishment of clean dishes and the desert was stale and hard. Not what you would expect when its $50 for two adults.

Went for Sunday brunch. Service was excellent. Very attentive servers. Brunch was tasty yet they over served us. Felt like we had to waste food. Lots of unique options like mini donuts and slushies included with food price. Only concern is that lots of the food was salty, but it truly changed my opinion of Aaltios.

This is one of the finest hotels in all of Winnipeg that I have had the pleasure to stay at! The staff are excellent in welcoming new arrivals and responding to there needs! If you wish to have a relaxing stay in Winnipeg and meet some friendly staff I HIGHLY recommend this hotel 10/10 will be here again …

Beds were dirty and bathroom had no hand soap and when asked front desk if I could get some hand soap was told they had no housekeeping staff available to get me any. Showers water pressure was nonexistent had to remove the head from the shower to get enough water to come out to rinse off.

We had a free stay and decided to use it at the Windsor Canad Inns. We had the Prime Rib buffet which was good but a little too pricey for what you actually received. The pool was excellent and the family really enjoyed the night. We stayed in a standard room and had no complaints.

  • Azroana Peters

The restaurant has delicious food the employees try to help where ever they can. And never hesitated to serve. They answered questions fast and coherently. The facilities are clean and well looked after. Over all very impressed! Definitely would recommend to travelers with family!

Nothing bad to say about this hotel. We had a very good service ! The pool has a big slide and a spa. The fitness machines works well. The room was clean, smelled nice and the bed was comfortable. 15 minutes from down-town Winnipeg ... We will come back for sure !

  • John Siedleski

It was a really good experience. Clean rooms, nice jacuzzi, the pool slide was fun but the water could have been a bit warmer for the pool though but no big deal. All in all it was a very pleasant experience there and would recommend it to my friends and family.

Joined some co-workers in the lounge for a drink and dinner. The service was excellent. She was very friendly and got the order perfect. All the food was enjoyed. Lots of TVS and the hockey game was on for us to enjoy.

Went to go watch the western final on Sunday. Hours on the door showed open. But doors were locked and they were closed. It's OK the 15 of us went to another bar and enjoyed the game.

I needed a room to host a meeting and the manager, David, was really friendly and helpful to my course. Gave me a nice quiet corner, and their staff are quite friendly.
