I've been to a good amount of different tattoo places and I've never found a place that I felt comfortable in. And that's when I stumbled upon Aces n Spades, I saw they were doing mystery tattoos and I thought it was a good opportunity to try a new place. I got my first one there (a pokemon themed) and I got teamed up with Sarah H. And had the best experience I've ever had getting tattooed, so I decided to get another and booked with Sarah again for my birthday. Once again not only did the tattoo come out amazing and clean for the second time. I'm beyond happy with the service I had, I felt so comfortable in the chair , Sarah H, made sure I was happy with the design and that I was okay the whole time, making it feel like it was like talking to a friend you've known forever. Her lines are clean, artwork is beautiful, Her vibe is so inviting and refreshing, I recommend her to everyone I know who loves tattoos as much is I do It's definitely safe to say I have found my go-to tattoo artist

I don't have enough space here to really go on about how much I love this shop! To keep it short and sweet, the atmosphere is out of this world! I got a tattoo by Will years ago with my sisters when I lived out of the city and instantly fell in love with the shop. As soon as I moved back to the city I started going again and decided to give the gumballs a go, I ended up getting booked in with Shay. Ever since he has become my artist and he has now done 7 of my tattoos, one being a custom and very sentimental piece in memory of my dad. He's amazing and his work totally vibes with my style! I have also gotten a huge piece done by Sarah and have another upcoming one with her as well which I'm super excited about!!!!! I snuck in a gumball with Vik after a session I had with Shay as well recently. Needless to say all the artists here are absolutely amazing! I thoroughly enjoy my visits when I go and recommend this shop to everyone!! You won't be disappointed!

I’ve came to Ace n spades twice in the last two months, first time was to see Cinnamon and Shay. Cinnamon did a memorial tattoo for my cat Maximus and made the whole experience such an excellent one. Her art is absolutely amazing and she’s great to chat with! Shay has now done two tattoos of mine and both times were absolute amazing experiences. The 2nd time around I got to be tattooed by Michelle who was also such a pleasure to be around and made the whole experience extremely comfortable. She was definitely the absolute right person to cover up a scar of mine that caused me so much grief over the years. Hands down two of the best experiences I have ever had being tattooed! You walk in there and instantly feel the family shop vibe. Everyone around you is so nice and comforting! I will gladly be stopping in any time I’m in town from the Yukon! Thank you

I will recommend aces and Spades to anyone and everyone, I was made instantly comfortable in the shop by everyone that was there (all staff were super caring and generally sweet). (This is going to be a big shout out to my artist Sarah hope) I originally had falling in love with her work on Instagram when I started falling ace in space for the mystery tattoos. Once I came in to do my claw machine for Star wars, she did a fantastic idea of capturing what I would like to the point where I came back for a second round the next day. Very easy to talk to, makes sure threwout the entire appointment you feel comfortable in the chair and has great conversations. I am completely Stoke to come back and finish off my sleeve with her.

Highly recommend this Tattoo Shop! I’ve had 3 pieces done by AJ and he’s currently finishing an unfinished leg sleeve that I had started with another artist. He’s definitely in it for the artwork as he has gave me confidence that if at any point he feels like he can’t finish the leg piece to an amazing piece he’ll find someone who will be able to. That way I’ll be able to have this piece completed no matter what! However he’s done amazing job so far with that one and all the other pieces I have. If you have any questions on future tattoos, healing processes he’s always quick to reply on his social media pages (GOREgeous Artistry). Again 100% recommend him!

Where do I even start? This place is fantastic. I waited and did my research before booking and this studio always came up. I decided to book. I contacted and explained my tattoo. I was paired with the perfect choice. I had a very personal and meaningful tattoo designed and done by artist Ian. To say he listened, crushed and executed the design would be a huge understatement. I couldn’t be happier with the result and I’ll be back to get another piece by Ian and support this shop in the coming months and I literally cannot wait. Couldn’t recommend enough! I love this place, most of all my fave artist there is definitely Jamie. I'll be getting another tattoo from her shortly & she is definitely worth the wait. She's an experience and a half, and the best artist there. When she tattoos, she is a freehand artist, I'll post the pics of her work after my next appointment. So far she has done a love potion on my shoulder & soon to be doing another design for me on my thigh. She is a 5⭐️ artist, and a full experience (in the most fun way). Her work is just incredible. If anyone is looking for a great artist, call for Jamie, you'll definitely get a great piece of art from her.

I got a tattoo by Ian and my Fiancée went to Shay! Both were amazing artists and super easy to hangout with with hands down amazing work!!! We went on separate dates but we both were there for the entire 4 hour tattoo session of the other. Got a chance to hangout with everyone there and joke around. The staff are absolutely all amazing and by the end of my tattoo my fiancée ended up curbing his waiting with a colouring book from Tara the front desk lady! I have another session already booked. And if you are looking for a tattoo place that makes you feel at home! Look no further!

Her curiosity and creativity means that your piece is elevated beyond what you may have originally envisioned. Jamie’s craft is an experience. Her vibe as a person makes the time under the needle pass quickly and enjoyably. She clearly cares about her work as well as the people who will carry her work on their skin. Whether it’s your first time getting ink, or your tenth tattoo, having Jamie as your artist is a worthwhile adventure.

I love this tattoo shop so much, it’s always so clean and every employee is insanely friendly and funny. The ladies at the front desk are always so welcoming and always fun to chat with before my appointments. The artists are all so great, but Sarah Hope is who I go to and she is fantastic. She’s a wicked artist, and a very passionate, kind and patient human. She thinks out of the box when it comes to concepts, and every tattoo she’s done for me is gold. Would recommend going to her! I went here for the Mental Health Week semicolon tattoo event. I was very happy with the fact they had different offerings than the standard 3 tattoos for this event, when I mentioned this they said that it is all about your journey so it should be unique. Even for a flash tattoo event, they were super friendly, helpful and took their time with the tattoo and placement. I am super happy with the end result, and the great atmosphere of this tattoo shop. Everyone was having a great time and enjoying themselves, and it made it so much better! Love my tattoo from Michelle!!

I love this shop. Have been here for my last 3 tattoos, and will only go here from now on. Had sergei do my gumball tattoo, and Sierra my other 2. They never make you feel rushed, and they don't treat you like just another dollar. The receptionist when you walk in is such a doll, and checks on you throughout your appointment to see how you're feeling or if you need anything. The artists are all very passionate about what they do, and it shows in their work. Hands down, only shop I will go to from now on. Highly suggest the gumball tattoo, it's a fun experience.

We had an incredible experience at Canadian Ink Studios! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. My daughter got a piercing with Rae, Head Piercer, who took the time to really listen to what she wanted and was so compassionate and gentle. My son got a tattoo with Serge, who was extremely effective and calming for his first tattoo. We’ve never felt so pampered and confident leaving a Tattoo/Piercing studio before! I’ll definitely be recommending Rae, Serge and Canadian Ink Studios to all my friends and family.

I just wanted to leave a review for Val - WOW! What an incredible artist she is not only is she amazing at her art, she is also attentive, very sweet, and organized. I could not be happier with that tattoo I got yesterday. The receptionist who's name I forgot to ask for was also very attentive, sweet, and took the time to explain the aftercare process to me which was a little different to what I am used to because we did not use second skin for this tattoo. I had tattoo artist J in the mystery gumball tattoos and she made sure to get a feel of what I was about before designing the tattoo. Amazing work honestly best tattoo place I’ve been to so far! Tattoo artist J made sure I was comfortable before starting lining and shading as it was in a painful spot! When I got a little light headed during shading we took a break and she grabbed me a pop. Honestly all the artist there and the people make you feel so welcome definitely will be going back!!

The customer service skills was great, the staff was all kind and friendly and all up beat! The art are great and they have different choices of random games to try out! I had my tattoo session with J today. She is a wonderful tattoo artist who is knowledgeable and does amazing work! I chose one of her flash designs for an early birthday gift and loved how it turned out! The session was comfortable despite the position I was in and she finished earlier than expected which worked out great because I had work that afternoon. Went to support Paws and Claws - Booking the appointment was super easy! Upon arrival all staff that I talked to were super pleasant and engaging! Hannah the wonderful did my tattoo and I couldn't have been happier, now to dreaded heal and wait to really get the prize. Shout out to Sarah who ended up holding a conversation with me while I was sitting for Hannah. The atmosphere is a vibe, the staff is great and I would get another tattoo here.

Unbelievable experience! It was my first tattoo and it really meant a lot to me, it's something I've had in mind for a while and represents the people close to me and the place I'm from. Went in with my sister today for some mystery gumball machine tattoos and we are both in love! Today was my first time getting a tattoo here but my sisters been multiple times! I've been to many different tattoo shops within Alberta and hands down this was one of the best experiences I've had. Jamie is one of the most talented artists I've ever had work on my oh, the cover of she's doing is fantastic. I had J complete a custom, fine line sternum tattoo for me and it was amazing. The drawing was amazing, incorporating all my wants and needs. The tattoo is so precise and clean. She is a fast but very efficient artist. I highly recommend her for fine line tattoos. On top of it all, she made me feel really comfortable during the whole process, covering up areas that didn't need to be exposed.

I went in with a memorial Tattoo for my grandparents and was absolutely blown away with the outcome. We booked for gumball game, my artist Shay could tell I wasn't to stoked on my choice and change it to suit me! I absolutely love it. My husband had the artist Sarah Hope and they were on the same page on what the tattoo will look like the entire time. They were both amazing and professional, it was a great experience. Originally booked for the fun mystery gumball experience, which was everything I hoped for, and ended up falling in love with Soap’s work! I can’t wait to go back and get more from her! I went to Canadian Ink today for the first time for a memorial tattoo for my MIL. My artist was Hannah and she knocked it out of the park. Went to get a tattoo from Will. He changed the piece 3 times. Qhen i showed up he had a completely new design and wasnt even ready to go waited almost an hour! The tattoo is horrible!1st year apprentice would have done better! The owner refunded me an hour! Should have been a full refund!!!!!! Disappointed doesn't even come close!

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, perfectly clean and sanitary from top to bottom. Our artist Shay did fantastic work, including making some adjustments on the fly to make our ideas exact; we worried about communication before the appointment but day-of changes were fast and no trouble for him. Definitely coming back for more!

Left a deposit, no work was done on any drawings, didn't get any communication back after numerous emails to the artist. Wasn't made aware they changed locations and names. Been in contact since then and still nothing. I've also called to straighten it out and got no where and now not getting responses. I just want a refund.
