Hello I’d like to express the greatest gratitude to Johnny Ray Ritchie and his team of specialists for having brought my vehicle back to running condition and returned it to my property over the weekend. The team was knowledgeable, transparent, and went the extra mile to order the necessary parts from out of country or did the repair if possible when parts are no longer available. Despite me being only in town only during the month of Aug I was kept updated via email every step along the way and work continued long after I left for another 2 months. The vehicle involved is a 91 deVille which had sat idled for around 5 years with numerous issues. It had a decomposed flat tire, dead battery, engine wouldn’t start even when jumped, and inoperative windows. It was towed in with an objective of bringing it back to road running condition. After initial diagnostic it was discovered the fuel tank was cracked and the fuel pump was non functional. I was advised up front the potential of finding additional faults so the hidden costs may exceed the vehicle’s worth such that I was able to make an informed decision and set the correct expectations. Since then the team went on to identify additional faults. The AC compressor and power steering fluid line were replaced. For the pulley system it was initially suspected that both the AC compressor and water pump pulleys were faulty. I was expecting both to be replaced but the team took the extra time to confirm only the AC compressor pulley needed work. For the windows switches, they investigated both buying original parts removed from other vehicles vs disassembling the mechanical switches to try repairing themselves. They decided to try the latter to save costs for the parts. Worth mentioning is a vehicle like this wouldn’t have been able to be serviced if it was brought into the dealership. Not knowing when I’d be back in the country next a scheduled reminder have been put on my profile so a quote will be sent to me a year from now for the vehicle to be towed back in for its next annual maintenance. As a customer I was not only impressed with the team doing what they needed to do to get the vehicle repaired given the scarcity of parts, I was also extremely pleased with the way Johnny managed it, and did what he could to keep the costs down. I'll score 3 as the service overall was quick and the cost reasonable. I withhold 2 stars as there were 2 issues I feel were significant. Issue #1: Deliverables (unable to deliver what is promised). Chase from Cambie location called me when I expected the car to be ready, only to tell me that - although the rims had been reserved for my car - another staff member had taken them for a different client, and so I was going to have to wait another day as rims would now need to come from a different location. Issue #2: Customer service etiquette. When I went to pick up the car I waited in line for 10 minutes. There were 3 staff behind the desk but all were with a client. I was the only one waiting. When I was to be served next, another customer arrived at the desk just then, and the clerk (it happened to be Chase again) offered to help her right away. She was about the same age as Chase, and she may have been known to him, but I don't know. I explained immediately that I had been waiting but Chase said he would be helping her and that I would be served next. When I heard from their discussion that the arriving client "only had to pick up her car," I too said, "I am also here to pick up my car." But by then Chase had his back towards me and ignored what I had to say. I could hear them laugh during their conversation. So neither Chase nor the clerk who who actually served apologized for the fact that I had to wait longer. I am an older male and I feel saddened by the difference in the level of customer service and respect that is shown to the elders by our youth. Although the job got done, it's hard to say my experience at Canadian Tire Auto Service Centre at Cambie location was entirely a positive one.

In the words of my tow truck driver: "I would never take my car to Canadian Tire". My car broke down the day after the assistant service manager at this location dismissed my concerns. I insisted that my car was making a new sound, and he kept talking over me to tell me that it was "normal engine noise". Turns out the sound was a telltale sign of my alternator dying, and my car broke down mid-turn the next day. When I told the manager about his employee's negligence, he said "I am happy to hear you are having the issue resolved." No concern for life and safety from management at this location. Stay away. Edit after manager's reply: I'm not claiming that the alternator was damaged by the team; however, my engine was making a new sound that the assistant manager repeatedly insisted was "normal engine noise", which was an incorrect and highly dangerous assessment. If a Service Advisor is not qualified to diagnose an engine sound, they should not be doing so. I was not asked to leave my car at the shop, I was asked to return two days later on Thursday. It is false to state otherwise. Even if I had been available to return on Thursday, my car still would have broken on Wednesday after being sent away by the assistant manager.

Took a vehicle for a pre-purchase inspection. Flagged specific concerns with the vehicle and was told they would be looked at. The concerning areas were not looked at and they took 3 hours to look the vehicle over. They only suggested changes of fluids (obvious preventive maintenance) and did not even scan the engine light. Other issues found after their three hour inspection: -Radiator was low on coolant and they returned the vehicle to the current owners like this after having road tested it and expressed no concern. -Oil pressure sensor was pinned on high once engine was running. Could be sensor or possible blockage leading to engine failure -Transmission fluid was pink and milky -Radiator/Trans cooler was actually mixing coolant into trans fluid hence the milky look. This is a huge red flag for possible transmission damage and replacement. This inspection cost $200 and took 3 hours. If the techs here can't properly flag issues on a vehicle i'm not sure that they're competent to work on one. The service desk employee even suggested I purchase the vehicle right away due to low KM. Support a smaller local shop (many near by) that will take the time to properly service a vehicle. Will not return.

They just didn’t seem to understand anything I told them, that’s why the one star review. I wanted to buy tires that where bigger, and I thought that Alex took my order right, but he just order the stock ones even though I wanted another size, and they didn’t allow me to buy them even though I wasn’t putting the tires with them, but Alex just didn’t understand that! Just wanted to purchase the tires and I would install them somewhere else. Also on our first conversation I thought I also purchased alignment, but he didn’t put it in the bill. Arrange an appointment to get the alignment done, and when I come to do it, they told me the other person that took my appointment, set it as wheel balancing… which I already did with the company that put my tires(bought at Canadian tire) so I just needed the alignment, when I came for the alignment Alex told me it wouldn’t be possible at the time and ask if I wanted to reschedule! I was so done at this point that I will never buy from the Cambie location ever again!

I went there today as my car gave me signal that my tire needed air. Upon arrival they had me leave my car and told me to come back as I had no appointment and it would take a few hours which was fine. About an hour later I got a call saying they would have to replace the whole tire as the puncture was too close to the sidewall. As I don’t know much about vehicles that sounded legit enough to me to have them order the tire. Luckily my friend who works at a tire shop found out I was having tire issues and gave me a call telling me he had one left in the size I needed and to bring the punctured tire. Turns out, the tire was easily fixed with a patch as it wasn’t too close to the sidewall and he was able to save me 200$ that Canadian tire was going to charge me. Big thumbs down on preying on the vulnerability of young women who clearly don’t know what they’re doing. “Trusted” corporations such as this should work by integrity and not jump at an opportunity to take advantage.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I am forced to escalate my complaint for the harm they caused my vehicle and the unprofessionalism of their manager. I took my car in for an inspection & was charged and inspected for items that were not required and not necessary. They did not listen to me when I stated what inspection I was here for. Whats even more upsetting is that suddenly all of my car lights no longer work, despite having my brakes and lights checked at a more reputable location less than a week ago. Their manager Johnny was rude, dehumanizing, and completely unprofessional and insinuated that I must be lying, not to be trusted and that there is no way that he could be wrong. I wish I would have read the reviews but chose to come here out of proximity to me. Instead they stole $130 of extra, unrequested services, damaged my vehicle and treated me like I was out of my mind. As stated, AVOID AT ABSOLUTELY ALL COST.

5 stars specifically for Genesis. I called in before bringing in my car(flat tire) and was told by the representative that they have the exact same tire on location and provided me the latest time/day it will be finished. That day came and when I called to check if my car is ready, turned out they do not have the tire and will have to be ordered and shipped from a different location. At this point, I was given another day/time when it will be completed. I received a call saying my car is finished, I came back and the car is not ready nor is the tire even on location. No one seems to be taking ownership of the 2 mistakes with the exception of Genesis. He took ownership of the issue and provided me with creative solutions to have the car ready at the time I needed it by. He was able to have my car ready within a very short time frame. We (consumers) need more reps like Genesis.

They put my winter tires on and on one tire the seal was not good so the tire kept going flat. This caused all sorts of problems for me and I had to buy an air pump to keep pumping up the tire. The pump actually killed my battery at one point and I had to get a new one. They finally got me an appointment to fix the tire, they said it was the seal and that they fixed it no charge. Few days later, the tire is still going flat. Im trying to move to a new apartment and this is such bad timing. Now they want me to leave my car there all day. But I'm trying to move and need my car. They are nice guys but I'm really frustrated they can't get this right. Ive wasted an enormous amount of time just to change my winter tires. So disappointed right now.

Brought my Ferrari in for a safety inspection. I imported it from Ontario...so it needs the BC safety inspection before it can be registered and licensed in BC. These folks were so accommodating with time frames to get me in when my car arrived in Vancouver. Very friendly on the phone and in person. But the thing that put this shop over the top was when they did with my car when it was ready for pick up. See the photo. I mean how incredibly thoughtful... Parking my pride and joy way off in the corner in a dedicated double spot so there is was chance or an errant door ding from a car parked next door, or an unmanned runaway shopping cart! Thanks to the folks at Can Tire for the thoughtful gesture.

Poor customer service. They overcharge $70 for oil change compared to other locations. I brought my VW Jetta and was quoted $160. On pickup was charged $250 (inc tax). These were extra charges for oil, filter, supplies, etc. the clerk told me. It took a 2nd visit and speaking to the manager for them to admit that the extra oil charge was a mistake and gave me a $50 discount. I went to another Cad Tire location and got a quote of $134 (tax in) for the oil change. I was adamant about specifying engine type, etc. so that the quote was accurate. Other aspects of customer service were poor as well. Will not be going back here again (even though it's conveniently close to work).

Really bad service on the tire service section. First they called in 1 hour after I dropped off the car notifying me that they have sold me the wrong tire size so they had to find a replacement, saying that it will take 2 hours. I called back after two hours and the lady on the phone said it will take another 1 more hour. Overall I had to wait 4.5 hours for my car tires to be replaced. All they can do is apologize and no compensation or anything to relief my inconvenience. I had to walk around the neighborhood for 4.5 hours. If I knew it would take that long, I would have gone home. I will never ever set foot in that store ever! I rather try my luck at Kaltire next time

Layout & parking in this store is terrible as well as service in the auto department - rude & abrupt. The front desk don't seem to check with what is actually going on in the back and in our case, told us we would have to wait 2 days for one tire to be mounted onto a rim, when in fact it was done within 10 minutes of them sending us home barehanded. We had to make the long drive back to the store & pay again for parking when it was unnecessary. The kicker on top of this was having the same cashier deny our Triangle rewards because he said he had already processed the invoice before fe

Wanted to charge me $160 + $160. One for a simple airbag light issue that is literally fixed by turning the car on and off 4 times. And the other an issue with the daytime running lamp that costs at most $50 to fix at any other mechanic. On top of that, the front desk lied about having to come back here to get the car serviced for the inspection to be complete - this is a complete lie as any other designated inspection facility in BC will do. Horrible and dishonest service intended to maximize their profits. Save yourself the time and money and go to a place that actually cares.

Technician would refuse the oil change because on the oil cap it is stated 5-20w and I bought a 0-20w in their store. He could not justify why the previous two years they were ok using the same 0-20w oil. Also I was told that they would call me back on this but I never received any call. Finally the price of an oil change if you supply the oil is way higher than if they use the oil they have in the shop. I wasted my time as they could have warned me when I dropped the car and spare me a 30 min walk in torrential rain…will not go back.

I have had my tires rotated at this spot for over a year now and overall had a great experience.. the other day I reached at around 7pm to pickup my car and even though they had almost closed a gentleman named Lewis helped me out.. he stayed back a bit late and helped me get my car out, process my payment and made sure I get to my car. That was really nice of him even though he didn’t have to help me out.. overall service at this place is great and usually i don’t have to wait more than 2-3 hours to get the work done.

Great service! Took the time to listen! Excellent diagnostics! Can’t thank the shop enough. My daughter lives in Vancouver and I called on her behalf and the shop was able to help her out with same-day service. My daughter is a person with a disability, so her vehicle is very important to her as accessible transportation is not always available. The shop was very understanding, very responsive and very helpful. Would definitely go back! Special thanks to Alex for the exceptional above and beyond service!

Simply the best auto shop I've been to on all accounts. The work done is always top notch, timely, and well priced. The customer staff have always been helpful and courteous. Unlike other shops I had tried before, it's nice to see that the staff here take the time to help you from start to finish rather than get interrupted every time someone comes to the counter "for a quick question". Definitely recommend this auto shop for anyone who wants to make sure their vehicle is serviced properly.

My car completely died on Yukon in front of the auto shop and as I was pushing the car into the ally, Mark saw and came to help. The shop had already closed, but he asked his two colleagues to come take a look. They did a few tests and ruled out that it was likely a dead battery. Jake and Genesis stayed after hours to replace my battery so that I could get home safely. I am so grateful for the three of them for going above and beyond to help me out on a rainy Friday night.

Canadian Tire Automotive Service work over their duties to assure I had a great service and explain further regarding my car problems. Also referring to a different shop for the job it can't be performed in their own shop. Rob know his way around cars and he broke down the explanation to make sure I know what to do next. Friendly service/admin group. I had my tire inspected as another mechanic found a nail stuck on my left car tire and suggested I get it checked and to not pull it out in case it would cause more damage. After a quick half hour at Canadian tire, I got a call back and they had discovered the nail was a small screw and hadn't in fact punctured the tire but just the in tracks. They didn't charge me a cent for this and I went on my merry way.

I booked an appointment for a transmission flush. I was not called when the job was done, waited an additional 30 minutes until I decided to go in and check on my vehicle. I was ignored by four people behind the counter before I was served. No details about my car were shared, clerk was inattentive and dismissive 2hen I inquired about why I wasn't called. Would not recommend based purely in lack of customer service.

I bought a brand new battery less than 10 months ago for a diesel car which is a heavy duty battery and it died already and I went back there and they made me wait for an hour and a half while they tried to charge it and tested after I told them I tried to charge her at home it didn't work and then they finally gave me a new battery but under the old batteries warranty during an epidemic they did this

great service!! took a used car in for the "pre purchase inspection". its a very detailed checklist, easy to read and understand. I was served on phone and in person by Genesis Arquines, and he was super helpful and patient w me, explained everything clearly and answered all of my concerns with care and attention. I would recommend this place to anyone, and I will definitely come back myself.

When I was getting an oil change at a different provider they had indicated to me that I needed to get my transmission fluid refilled. I chose not to do that at that provider. I checked it myself and then popped up to Canadian Tire Auto and one of the gentleman helped me and validated that I didn’t need to get it refilled / topped up. I appreciated his honesty and willingness to help me out!

Effective and efficient service from Canadian Tire! They were timely and communicative with what was happening. In particular, Justin at the front desk was SO helpful! He was the only consistent employee at the desk and helped incoming customers as well as writing up reports and checking in with the service team. He was polite, professional, and so helpful!! When my car broke down while visiting from the US, they fit me in on short notice and stayed late to help me get home only one day later than planned. We paid 140 $ to make check, quote's price for the fix : 1800$ We are French with a medium level, we asked for French speaker to understand the problem, but none effort to find one. We had to look for him by ourselves, and found one! Finely we found another garage (VAP) less than the half price for the same job and pieces (800$). We advice against canadien tire to fixe cars !!

We had a battery replaced but were not informed of the total cost until we returned for pickup. I argued over the labour charge and they provided a discount on the bill. The work appears professional and I would go back without hesitation however get the full price upfront for a job like this with specific labour costs so you don’t receive an unwelcomed surprise.

My friend had her car serviced. She spend $350 and two days later the car died on the hwy. she took it to Nissan spend half the money and found out Canadian tire installed the air filter upside down. Didn’t even look like they did anything else. Pretty sad when a big company takes advantage of a single women like that This is the Canadian tire in white rock

I was really disappointed by what I witnessed at this location. No employee at the desk were wearing masks. I also saw the manager berate two separate customers within a 2 hour span of waiting. This is not the way you treat or provide service. There are a lot of auto shops around and I would avoid coming here if you don’t want to be disrespected.

Genesis in the auto department is freaking awesome, went above and beyond to help me. I had visited this location originally looking to purchase a single tire, I was given a stellar deal on 4 clearance tires and the staff were able to install them that same afternoon. This helped me so much, probably the best shopping experience I've ever had

I gave my flat tire for repair last night. I was told that it would be ready by 11AM the next day & will get a call from the shop. Next day I waited until 2:30Pm & went to the Auto shop. To my surprise, they mixed up my tire & hadn’t even started working on it. I had to wait for more than an hour & wasted my time. Unprofessional behaviour.

Very unimpressed with the service here. The people on the phone and at the counter were very pushy even when I was implicitly clear on what I wanted. They kept trying to convince me that I needed to get more work done on my car than was necessary. They were also very condescending and treated me like I knew nothing about my car.

I came on Saturday and I asked to fix my car. Nobody called me to ask if I want to do the service. I tough it was done and when I come on Monday they told me that was not fixed and I have to leave the car for another day to fix. Also I was charged 83 dollars for inspection. They charged me for nothing and I lost my time!

I went in for my class 7 road test, but wasn’t able to leave the icbc parking lot, because my brake lights weren’t working. I went to Canadian Tire to see if I could potentially get them fixed so I could go back and retry the test, and they fixed them immediately. Excellent and fast service!!

We had appointment for 3 PM. On the website it said that it takes 45 minutes. When we came at 4 to pick up our car - they didn’t even touch it!! When we asked what happened they started the inspection right away and we had to wait until 5 pm. Wasted 2 hours instead of 45 minutes.

I've used this shop 2 times in the last couple years. On both occasions I had to wait 1-2 hours longer than the quoted finish time. I get that things happen, but calls should be made so people aren't wasting their time. They're also terrible at returning phone calls.

Went in for brake job that was done poorly Got car back with a leak. No issues before the brake job. Brought it back and was charged to get leak fixed. They told me it was a hose. Leak was not fixed in hose.
