Came for a simple inspection and ended up wasting weeks of my time and money. I dropped my car off here for an out of province inspection. I trusted their high rating on Google maps so I expected this to go smoothly. They quoted me a range between $1000 and $1600 to do the necessary repairs, one of which was due to play in the tie rods. They were booked up so I took my car to my usual mechanic to get it fixed faster. My mechanic was able to fix the issues for just $680. I took the car back to Vital to get the re-inspection but they insisted the tie rods still have play, and that my mechanic didn’t fix it right. They wanted around $600 to fix it. I felt this was fishy because I called my mechanic and he was adamant that there was absolutely no play in the tie rods. So I took my car to another reputable mechanic so I can get a third opinion. They took me under the car and showed me there was no play. I shelled out another $150 for an inspection with them and lo and behold, my car passed with no issues. Did Vital lie to me telling me there is play in the tie rods? I can’t tell you because I’m not a mechanic. But when two reputable mechanics tell me there is no problem (and put their license on the line by passing the inspection) and Vital says there is a $600 problem — that’s really suspicious. EDIT: In response to the reply from Vital: I was very patient with you guys and your busy schedule. Did I want to run around town to 3 different mechanics? Of course not. I really wanted to make this work with you given your high reviews. I don't like leaving negative reviews unless they are absolutely justified. Am I trying to save a buck when some work does not need to be done on my car? Of course, we all are. However, I am always ready to shell out the money needed to fix my car that I love to death. I really gave you guys a chance. Nay, multiple chances. Again, when two other established and licensed mechanics disagree with your assessment, it's 2 versus 1 and I'm siding with the 2. End of story.

Thanks Danny! We were in a jam there and you put us immediately at ease. I mentioned that I came across your place 'by fluke' but after conversing with you for a few minutes it became obvious that this was no fluke. One of the things I don't like about some mechanics and what makes me hesitant about going to a shop where I don't personally know them is my concern about getting ripped off & having poor quality service. I'm sure I am not alone. I was pretty sure my rear right caliper needed to be replaced after it'd gotten hung up on a previous trip we'd taken to Penticton a few weeks prior. Once home the brake seemed to be fine again and was even good on another short trip we took prior to the one to Vancouver. My wife wanted me to take the car in to our local Hyundai dealer (a 2015 with only 50k on it).. "Maybe there's some recalls?" (pfff.. yah right). I told the service mgr. what I wanted. He quoted me $2,350.00, telling me I needed calipers, rotors & pads all the way around. Of course I knew he was F.O.S.! I was disgusted! (that's Castlegar Hyundai for reference). Danny, the guy you had working on our car had my complete confidence! Hopefully we won't be back but we would be 100% if we lived in the area! fwiw, we were the perfect customers to overcharge but instead you provided us with great service and a fair price! Thank-you!

Been here twice. Both experiences were excellent. They worked with me on figuring out the problem instead of offering up some nonsense and replacing a part I don't need. Brian Jessel BMW on Boundary takes my ride for a full diagnostic test. They tell me I need a servomotor or a whole new transfer case.. we are talking about $1000 or $8000.... it's a 6 speed X3 with ZERO Issues... do a little research, turns out the transfer case on the X3 has a common issue which is a plastic gear wheel in the transfercase actuator that wears from the metal screw that operates it. Allan at the shop did a diagnostic test and a little research on his own, AND proactively had the part brought in for me. Had it replaced in 2 hours. That alone sums it up. Honesty and genuine give a F is where I think people should bring their business. If i had twitter... Brian Jessel BMW should publicly be recognized for this type of business culture.

They have taken amazing care of my previous car since the day I bought it, despite it having a plethora of complicated issues (all of which were solved by them with a breeze). Now they are taking care of my new car! I live beside a whole street of auto shops, but always choose to drive the extra time to come to Vital Auto because they're simply the best in town. I highly recommend this shop for people in the East Vancouver area. My normal mechanic was too far when I had a cooling issue. I searched Google and this had a pretty good review and rating. My other choices we going to cost me an arm and a leg (Shops that were big names) and one other shop told me I had to wait for an appointment one week later. When I got Vital's quote it was more than fair. They even showed me other problems with the car but told were not critical but be aware. But actually I already knew those problems before but was really good they mentioned as it shows they are very knowledgeable and no pressure to fix those small issues. Other shops they make it sound like you need to do everything now. I have a BMW and usually other places quote me way too much. Like 2-3x the amount. Lastly, they fixed that critical problem same day. That saved me big time as I needed my car for work.

I decided to give Vital a chance after reading all the positive reviews, and I am very pleased with the whole experience. Upon calling the shop to make an appointment, I was greeted in a very friendly manner and they were able to accommodate me the next day. I had a strange noise coming from the car that was not obvious (maybe the part was only a little worn but not VERY worn) and therefore difficult to diagnose. After inspection, Allan informed me about his findings and we came to an agreement that the most likely and best place to start was by changing the inner-tie rod (which was consistent with my initial thought before bringing the car in). The next day, I got a call to pick up the vehicle and so far the sound is gone. Definitely recommend these guys as they are absolutely 100% TRANSPARENT and genuinely KNOWLEDGABLE with cars (a trait that is assumed upon many mechanics too lightly).

I came here because it was recommended by my friends that have come here for years. I originally brought my car to a Honda dealer because there was a recall for my vehicle. The next week, I noticed that there was a loud rattling sound coming from the back of my car. Took it back to Honda and they quoted me $1100 for a unrelated reason (exhaust pipe completely rusted through and there was an obvious hole in the pipe). I haven't had good experiences with auto shops in the past but I did trust my friend when he recommended I go here. They were kind enough to squeeze me in and the total ended up being less than half the estimated cost compared to Honda. The workers there are really nice - they will also give you a heads up on other things that you may want to consider fixing in the future, which is helpful for me since I don't know much about cars.

They always take the time to explain what's going on to me and how things work, they give me various options for dealing with the issue depending on budget and preference, and take the extra time to do things like check my oil and tire pressure without me having to ask - either because i'm going on a road trip or they just know I do a lot of highway driving. I cannot recommend them enough, it's such an immense relief to know that I can trust and rely on my mechanic, and that my car and my concerns are being properly taken care of. I was recommended by a friend to check out this place as they've been here many times and were always satisfied with the services received. After a TERRIBLE experience with Wolfe Subaru on Boundary, whom seem to just ask me to dump $$$ time and time again, I decided to give Vital Auto a shout to see how they can help me. I spoke with Allan and after his initial diagnostic, he presented me with many options to fix the issues with the car ranging from the worse case scenario to the best case scenario. Allan's had his best interest with me the entire process and he found the most cost-efficient way to repair the car without sacrificing quality. I really appreciate how transparent and direct Allan was throughout this entire repair. Wish I came to this Gem first. HIGHLY recommend!!

Dipak at Vital was an incredible sport and made sure I could safely get my car back on the road. I was looking at a new engine/car after my 2016 Elantra started stalling at low rpm, no engine lights or codes present and only an occasional flicker of the oil light. Dipak went the extra mile to diagnose the fault and drove the car around town to make sure there was no more stalling. Have been driving the car for a few days now and the motor runs great, no stalls or noises/shaking from the engine. The fix ended up costing only 200 bucks as Dipak refused to charge for labour and threw in a heavy discount on parts. I could not have left being more satisfied and know where I'm taking my vehicles in the future. Cheers

The mechanic who worked on my car was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain all the work that was being done. I could tell that they took pride in their work, as they went above and beyond to ensure that my car was running in top condition. The prices were also very reasonable – much lower than what I expected for the quality of work that was performed. Best auto shop in the city. Allan is the most honest mechanic I’ve ever met. Best customer service skill, he explains everything to you which makes you comfortable. You also save money in terms of pricing. They don’t lie or try to rip you off or make a profit of you. I’ve had really bad counters with shops and I’m not gonna lie most see you as a cash cow and make things up about what’s wrong with your car or lie about a repair they did. It’s rare to find an honest mechanic. Vital is 100% solid. I came all the way from Surrey. I had a bmw 535i which isn’t the easiest car to work on and he was able to resolve the issue.

i have a corrola 2003. Alan and D. best automobile doctors , true to their work , friendly and caring. I went for power steering pump change 2 months ago and its runing smooth ever after, they gave me the best service for my first car ,moreover, they care with the same feeling as you do . i would go to Vital again for all my future regular oil change or random inspections . No shady work or manipulations i would recommend all car lovers, you can blindly trust these guys (specially first time owners too) as they always do a true scan to your car needs and the BEST JOBS!!personally experienced!!

I've been using Vital Auto for the last two years and I'm so pleased with them. Everyone who works here is friendly and I trust them to take care of my car. They thoroughly explain all of the repairs they suggest, e.g. why they're necessary, which ones are priority, and answer any of my questions without judgment. All partners seem very knowledgeable, but my experience was with Alan. This is not just his job, but his passion. He knows things a lot of mechanics don't. That's the difference between working as an owning partner in a firm as opposed to being treated as a slave in a large greedy corporation with their CEO and bureaucratic minions... Alan can do it all- all makes and models mechanically and aftermarket install and auto-body work too. The work is done well and at a fair price. With Alan, I not only have my mechanic, but also someone who is my friend too.

I always went to this garage for major things because the previous owner of the vehicle has done all the maintenance here. What can I say: The guys are friendly, have fair prices and explain everything. One time I came back because of a noise and I thought it comes from a part they just fixed but I was wrong. They lifted the car and showed me the bottom, everything was fine with the repair and they didn't charge me for the time. I did a 20.000 km roadtrip with my car, had no incidents and recommended the shop to the new owners. Keep up the good work.

I chose Vital because of the fantastic reviews here and they definitely lived up to them! My car was threatening to stall while idling and there was an issue with the battery as well. Allan was very friendly, honest, and knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly explain the solutions he was trying. He correctly identified that it was the alternator that was causing both issues and replaced it at a reasonable price, and my car has been running perfectly ever since. I’m very happy with the service I received and would highly recommend this shop!

These guys are the best! They are really helpful with explaining what they will be working on and give good advice. I never feel pressured to get more work done than can I afford at once and they always seem to do their best to save me money (I have an old car!). They are really accommodating and have strong customer service skills. As someone who doesn’t know cars really well, I never feel like I’m being taken advantage of as they provide options to save costs and I have the choice as to what I want to prioritize. Highly recommended!

Shop was very professional, had a few small hiccups between getting new tires but the staff handled everything as quickly as possible. Originally went for an oil change and break pad replacement. They let me know my break pads were still at 40 and 50 percent. My breaks have been squeaking at low speeds after the tire change though. Not quite sure why. My guess is it may be moister, dust or small amount of rust. I would highly recommend this mechanic. As stated before they go out of there way to rectify or handle any mishaps ASAP.

Since I moved to Vancouver, Vital Auto has been my ‘go to’ mechanic for my Kia. Dee and his crew there are professional and give good service, answering all your questions, however small or stupid you fee the question is. I have had my engine coils replaced there, battery, a coolant leak and a timing belt replaced, and recently my struts and shocks (which I would reconnect to anyone to restore comfort in your ride, a great cosmetic upgrade). Way less expensive than the ‘Dealer’ and quality work. A great mechanic

Vital Auto took in my 93 Geo tracker for a driveshaft replacement, upon taking it in they discovered my front end was also on it’s last legs. They were nothing but great to deal with. They fixed my front end extensively that I’ve been putting off for some time, and installed the driveshaft. My car feels new and doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart. I felt like I got good value for the amount of work done, and would take it there again in a heartbeat. Thanks everyone at Vital, y’all rule!

The staff at Vital are friendly, honest and knowledgeable. I stopped by to ask a couple of questions about my car after getting into a collision and Allan took time out of his day to inspect my car, tell me what was wrong with it, and referred me to his associate for a wheel alignment-without an appointment! We were in the city from west kootenays for dr appointments during covid....... our rear brakes and caliper went on the drive to Vancouver from home. Great service! Very accurate estimates and fair pricing. Alan was very knowledgeable and friendly. I went in with the emissions control lamp on and the D light blinking. Alan found out right away what was going on and ordered parts right away. He explained to me the root of the problem (the rodent-attracting soy-based wire covers) and gave recommendations on how to solve the problem. Sprayed my engine clean and my car is now running fine. Highly recommended!

This place is great! I used to come here with my old car (which they always did a great job on) and with my newer car went to the dealers. I will always drive the extra Km’s to come back to Vital’s. Example: running light on driver’s side wasn’t working, dealership said to fix it could cost up to $500! After doing the oil change, explaining all that was done, insisted on looking at running light, and it’s fixed! They are just that good and fair.

These mechanics are great, friendly, and honest. They are usually quite busy, but always get to my car before they think they will. They always call before doing anything, and will always do what is necessary, but tell you about what else should be done. They are quick, and more affordable than others. I came here for the first time ever years ago because they were one of the few auto shops with a 5 star rating, and they deserve it .

I’ve been to many mechanics and majority of them will always try and upsell you on problems that “needs” repair. The main reason why I’ve stuck with them for over 10 years. I guarantee you that the price quoted by Vital Mechanics won’t cost you an arm and leg like it would at the dealerships!! 5 start!!

Similar experience to others here, I received a very high estimate from Midas up the street. Brought my truck to Danny and he not only charged me far less, but went the extra mile by patiently answering all my questions, showing me what he fixed, and just being an all around cool guy. He even stayed late on a Saturday to make sure my brakes were adjusted properly before I left. I would definitely recommend this shop!

Been going to Vital for a number of years now. For both our family car and my business Van. Amazing service and super Friendly! I took my family car in because it was squeaking, expecting to pay for brakes or some sort of repair. Instead, they fixed it FREE of charge because they had done the back breaks previously for me. Amazing customer service. It's the only place I take any of my vehicles. All the gentlemen that work here are on point. They don't tell you things need to be done unless they actually do. It's not a rip-off like most mechanics. They will be transparent when it comes to what actually needs to be done or not. I highly recommend going here! I had my Civic 2012 rotors replaced in this repair shop a month ago and all I can say is I am 100% satisfied with their services. Alan was very friendly and made sure to get me the most reasonable price for the job. I was also almost immediately accommodated that day and I didn't have to wait long for the job to get finished. Five star is not enough for these guys. This will be my go to place now. Danny and Allen are amazing. They are able to detect the problems of my old CRV that couldn’t be detected by other garage guys. Very honest and friendly. They think what’s best for you, and not seek their benefit. These guys are absolute pros! Brought my Nissan Xtrail in for cooling fan/wiring issues just when it seemed no other mechanics could or wanted to fix/diagnose the problem, & they took it on. This shop is my go-to car repair/maintenance store. Their staffs are friendly, patient, and responsive. My car has the ECL on a while ago and it was a pain in *** to fix. They diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts right the way, and got it done as soon as possible. The shop is quite busy (too many returning customers I guess.) so make sure you call and book an appointment.

Went to Midas on Kingsway in Van and the guy told me i needed to machine my rotors and replace brake pads and wanted to charge me $300. What a rip off. Came to Vital, Deepak looked at it, SHOWED me i still had 50% brake pad and told me to machine the rotors next time i changed my pads. Spent $0 but the next time i get any work done I'm coming here. Appreciated the honesty.

The team there was great! I supplied parts to have all my brake pads and rotors to be replaced and had no issues at all. They called a couple of times during the service to make sure I was aware of what was being changed and what work was being done -- super honest and up front! Would definitely come back here in the future to make sure my car is looked after properly.

This place is amazing! I drive in all the way from Langley because I know I can trust the mechanics here. I’ve always received exactly what I’ve paid for. They’re really honest and don’t gauge the prices, add unnecessary add services etc when the see a lady walk through the door. All in all, amazing, honest and efficient mechanics. I stopped in today to ask about my turn signal not working and they were able to look and deal with my problem within a few minutes...turns out it was just a fuse which they replaced for free..very very helpful. I love it that places will fix tiny things for free and trust that when you have bigger problems you will return to them. I totally reccommend

Last time I came here, Allan helped me changed my oil and brakes. After checking out my car, he printed out what the problems were. One of the problems was that my battery needed to be replaced, so I came here again. He ordered me a new battery and replaced it very quick. Allan is very friendly and knowledgeable! Honest!! They are realistic about time and price. What they told me was what I payed for and nothing more.The whole team is professional kind and fast. I needed to have two bushings pressed into a control arm, a small job. Got turned away from a few other shops because "it was not worth their time". Super impressed. We live in the neighbourhood - walked over to Vital Auto after our car wouldn’t turn over. The mechanic said he would head down the block to check it out, which he did immediately. He resolved the issue very quickly and refused to accept any payment. We Will be back to Vital Auto for all of our car repair needs.

The team had been so patience explaining everything to us, especially when my aunt doesn't speak native English. had a very pleasant experience here, I brought my Toyota Corolla 1990 in and it had a leaking intake manifold. I thought the manifold was cracked but he called me and said was only a loose bolt. Clearly knew that shop was a keeper. Highly recommended Ps I've had several other great experiences here since

Really happy with the service here! My car battery died and they were able to fix it within a couple hours of calling them. They ordered a new battery and they came to where I had my car and changed the battery quickly. The price is very reasonable also. Would go here for my car repairs and maintenance.

The repair took longer than predicted because my car was rusted, but they didn't charge me any extra in labour. Both times I have gone to this place, they have been really reasonably priced, and even try to save me a few bucks, which is great. I recommend coming to Vital.

Danny, Dee, and Allan will fix and detail your car. They care about the clients and you can really count on them to get it right so you are back on the road in a safe clean ride. They put the old fashioned spin on customer service ~ it is refreshing in this day and age.

One month ago I was in a jam and my car would not start or retain the charge to run. Danny was able to help me on the spot and diagnose/fix the problem at a reasonable timeframe and rate. I would highly recommend coming to this shop for any of your automobile needs.

we accidentally had diesel in our car that caused our car stop functioning. they figured out what happened once we got there. it was fixed and much faster than the expected time. They are really nice and professional, i would definitely go back again if needed!

Called these guys because they had a great review, was if they were busy, he said I get asked that several times a day, very rude, then I asked about a oil change and asked me a few questions then hung up on me , great customer service.

Alan is knowledgeable and trustworthy when it comes to repairs and maintenance for your vehicles. He has serviced and repaired by 2011 Land Rover each and every time and I never have to worry about it.

I had punctured my front tire on afternoon in April 2016, so I took my vehicle during noon hours, and within 2 hours, they fixed it for a reasonable rate, I think was around $30. Highly recommend.
