Horrible experience with this place. I was given a time frame of 3-4pm to pick up a kids desk. I notified Jennifer when I was leaving my home and that I would arrive closer to 4pm. When I arrived to the store she said her “ husband just took it out to someone and she thought it was me”. Needless to say I drove 15mins with my 2 kids for nothing in rush hour. Jennifer then said she would like to make it up to my daughter and offered another desk and said she would paint it. I agreed to that and she said in a week she would start on it. Well a week went by and nothing. After a couple days she then said the leg was broke and offered another desk. She also had originally agreed to sale me a desk for $50 at the original price of the first desk plus she would paint it. The new desk she was offering would be $120 for everything and I agreed to that desk and price but she said “she wouldn’t pick up the desk for 2 weeks.) 2 weeks came and I had to reach out to her. She said someone else bought the desk so she didn’t have one. She sent me another picture of a desk that looked nothing like the ones we were looking at for my daughter. I passed on that one. I never asked for anything to begin with but she insisted on making it up to my daughter. Well all she did was string me along and make the process a nightmare. She even knew it was the last piece of furniture I needed for my daughters room and I was patiently waiting and even agreed to pay $120 for a painted kids desk! If you don’t want to do something just tell the person.

I absolutely love this place! Not only is it beautiful and filled with amazing items, but the customer service is top tier! I was in search of centerpieces for my wedding and had a very specific look in mind. I walked in and fell in love with a mercury glass compote dish. The next step, finding 20 of them. I'm a bit OCD and wanted everything to match without having been handled as much on the sales floor. After talking to Brandon and learning they only had 10 in stock, he went above and beyond to get ahold of his employer (who was off) to determine if they could be ordered from the manufacturer. Be still my heart, Brandon and his employer order 24 even though I only needed 20 just to make sure none of them showed up broken! I collected my centerpieces today after they were inspected by a very thorough receiving team, and I'm super pleased with Brandon and The Painted Sofa. They came through for me at every phase of the situation! Highly, highly recommended place due to customer service and inventory options!

I purchased a bar in May 2021 and was told it would be 4-6 months for arrival due to Covid. It is now March 2022 and I still have not received it. This entire time of waiting for the arrival I have never gotten a call in regards to my order. I have to call them every month for an update on an expected arrival time and have simply been told they do not know when it will arrive. Their first excuse was that the company was having problems getting the wood and then I was told they could not get a truck to pick it up. I asked for a refund and was told yes but minus 20% they would keep because they do not have to refund me per their store policy although I have no merchandise still and it is going on a year. Also, Brandon who is the store manager has an attitude because I am frustrated that no one can tell me anything about why there is no expected arrival date for it. Poor communication and customer service after taking customers money along with a poor business policy of no refunds. I will never shop here again!

I am really sad and disappointed - I purchased an expensive coffee table book for someone as a gift from the Painted Sofa. I found out after purchasing that the person I was giving to already had the book. In addition, the binding at the top is dented. I immediately checked my receipt and panicked when I saw there were no exchanges or returns. With no use for the book, I went back to the store and asked if there was anything that could be done, even offered to buy a more expensive book in exchange. They said no and there was nothing they could do. I’m really disappointed as I was planning to do a lot more Christmas shopping here. Not sure I will be returning.

We were in the market for some new bar stools, while also looking to possibly replace our couch. Charmed House had a wide variety of high quality furniture to fit every style. Although the price point was higher, it seems worth it for the quality of furniture offered. A sales associate, Brandon was a tremendous help to us and located bar stools in their online inventory that were the style and color we were looking for. Ultimately, we decided to think about the purchase and we didn't feel pressured at all. Brandon provided us with a business card and a barcode so that we could purchase the stools without issue, if we chose to later. Thanks Brandon!

Store is very cool. A lot of beautiful decor. Great place to get decorating ideas. Was upset to realize how much I overpaid for my purchase. Bought a chandelier- it's GORGEOUS. However, when I got home I realized I could have bought the same fixture at the big box store for $200 less. They do not accept returns. The chandelier was on display- no boxes available. Made it home with missing and broken crystals. (On top of overpaying by $200.) I still love it but if I would have known better, I would have definitely tried negotiating a better price or purchased at the big box store.

Very cool store! Stuffed to the brim, bit in a way that makes it look like it was designed in a magazine. Colors put together with themes and random items that you wouldn't think go together, but it works! It's a bit overwhelming, but in a Disneyland like way. So much to see, but you just want to keep wandering through to see what other treasures are around the corner. The prices are a bit higher here, but that's to be expected with the area you find it in the clientele they cater to.

Full disclosure: "Antique shopping" was not high on my list of things to do on a Sunday morning, but this place was very cool. Right in the heart of the West Bottoms, it's in a very unique older building and is packed with all sorts of cool things ranging from antique to modern-day. They even have a section in the back for t-shirts and hats that were KC-themed. This was a great place to come and walk around!

Heard a lot about this place so was excited to go. Not sure if because I went with husband who went only because I wanted to go but did not meet me expectations. Has a lot of variety on multiple floors. Would go again but would go with some girlfriends and leave hubby at home to see if better experience. Heard this a great place to visit during Christmas so looking forward to seeing then as well.

What a fun & unique small business! It’s 3 floors full of a bit of new, old & in between. Love all the little shops throughout the store too. It’s the perfect place to buy a gift for ANYTHING (Father’s Day, Bachelor/Bachelorette gift, baby shower, etc.). The staff was very nice & helpful as well. I can’t wait to see what they have for the holidays!

We live in Columbia, and our family members that live in Parkville, brought us here this past Saturday. Love it!! In fact, our house needs some serious updating, and I will call this week to see if they offer staging services. Beautiful inventory and reasonably priced! What we did buy, looks great in our house! Love the location & the furnishings. Had a horrible experience with ording a couch. No communication from them, we had to constantly call and check where it was. When it finally arrived they still didn't tell us. We had to call them to be notified. Disappointed with their customer service because its one of our favorite stores in the west bottoms.

What an incredible place—3 stories of discovering cool stuff. And the best part—pricing was reasonable. I even paid full price on the items I bought! We all found something or some things we just had to have. In addition to some small decore items, I found the perfect stand for my book on firefighting. I’m happy.

i have visited kc for years, never knew this place existed!!!! you must go down to this little village, there are tons of little shops down here! but this place....... three floors!!!! yes that's right three floors full of furniture and decor and clothes! we will definitely be back once we are back in kc

Absolutely a fantastic place to find local art that you usually won't find anywhere else in KC! My fiance loves going and and I've became fond of this place as well. One of my favorite shops in the westbottoms. They sell more new things now than they used to and a lot of furniture, not a lot of antiques. However if you are there antique shopping, I think it's still worth your time. There are still some antiques there. Great cookies too

Their business model is very smart, but their furniture is made in Mexico cheap stuff: Press board construction with wood laminate. If you want to pay high price for fake wood this is the place. They are packed and selling a lot of stuff, laughing all the way to the bank!

This place has a great selection of home goods. I wouldn't say the bulk of the items were antique more new furniture and items. If you are a DIY person looking for chalk type paint, they have a good variety available. Prices can vary for home goods though.

Owner, Jenna, was gracious enough to meet us at their warehouse so that we could bring a chair back from KC to St Louis. Andrew helped with colors and design decisions. The entire staff was extremely helpful and made our shopping trip to KC so pleasant!

We LOVED walking thru the 3 floors of repurposed furniture and everything! Found my long searched for, glass gallon jug for home made wine! Great experience! They also carry Annie Slone chalk paint and have a Beverage "garage" with cold fusion coffee!

Beautiful store. Inventory used to feature more antique and one of a kind items,moving towards boutique goods and mass-produced goods. Still, staff goes way beyond expectations to be helpful and serve the customer.

As a general rule I don't enjoy any type of shopping, but do like the atmosphere and surroundings here. Staff is pleasant and inventory changes regularly. We'll worth it.
