If you are Caucasian, don't bother wasting your time here. They will let Asian people roll around drunk, vomit and smash into glass walls, however Caucasian people are only served one drink and told that's it. I have observed this several times over the past month, however tonight, as dezzie driver- I was refused. Only previously having 2 drinks earlier in the night (6 hours prior) they simply would not serve me, however they served the Asian girl beside me who could not even get her purse out and then dropped her money everywhere. The people running the joint are Asian and to me, to allow the Asian people to get really drunk and only serve max 2 drinks to Caucasian people is a racist move on their part. I am not the only one who has observed this, and I would not expect this bar to be around much longer. Just don't waste your time- it's not worth it.

Once you get inside the Monkey Bar it's basically a pokie gambling den with a bar. Unfortunately the last couple of times I've been there the security has told me the bar (somewhat rudely) is at capacity, so I'll never return. It used to have really nice beer glasses which made an ordinary beer taste like gold, but the last time I went there they seemed to revert back to normal schooners. Better options in the area. After a renovation they had really nice toilets (at least in the men's), but they didn't seem to upkeep and it's about as clean as the public toilets at the train station.

Please do not go to this place gaming area is rubbish Staffs are unprofessional and rude ESPECIALLY THE ASIAN MANAGER I was playing at one of the slot machines and lost my money and took a break and smoking, the manager come to me and kicked me out because I was taking a break from playing sitting on chair on my machine. they just want you to play and loss money otherwise they kick you out. I used to go to the monkey bar as much as possible, but more recently I have been denied entry without valid explanation as to why. This was once an amazing place to meet new people and have a beer with your mates, but I no longer recognise the monkey bar. It has changed for the worse and I wish it would come back so that I can go monkey and watch the races

An interesting, intimate little bar tucked away behind a carpark. If you are a local you know it. Open till late. Generous cocktails and cold beer. A great place to meet and catch up for a quiet drink, without the obligatory louts falling all over you.

Would give it 0 stars if possible. Most of the staff (including the licensee) Have little interest in or knowledge of anything other than the abundance of pokie machines. And the regular crowd that patronize this dive, just add to the tragedy that I have watched this place become. (Try Chelsea bar, just 200m away)

Average. Small interior, smoking space smell comes into main seating area, so not much point to the constantly opening and closing doors. The drinks are what you'd get at any bar. Probably wouldn't go here again, as it was small, loud, crowded and there isn't any food.

Not even joking was walking past on the way home with 6 mates. Non of us had been drinking and just wanted to to catch up. Got interrogated by security. Even though he let us in, we left because of his attitude.

Great place for catchup with mates. Friendly service by the waitresses, reasonable prices for drinks, get yummy free hot food snacks from time to time. Plenty of smoking areas for customers and great facilities for horse and greyhound betting.

This place is awful. The atmosphere is dreary and the drink selection is terrible. I had to tell the bartender what was in a Black Russian and even then she put too much Kahlua in. The only redeeming feature it has is that it's rarely crowded.

I came here to get away from the bad weather and to share a bottle of white with a friend. Service was kind but not quick nor necessarily efficient. It was very quiet and with the (5) guests they had she still forgot to put the food order

Try it if you're in Chatswood, start of drinks with a few Soju Jugs for the ripe price of $16 ea not to mention ample gaming and tab facilities with a balcony to enjoy a drink or you can head upstairs occasionally to watch the live footy

Cheap beers, great service, Downstairs: smoking area, pokies with and without smoking, food provided for pokies, and tab. Upstairs, available for functions, otherwise open and quiet with organised poker some nights.

We went there for pool game, the table was squeezed into the corner with no space to play properly. Would be good to have the table placed in an open or bigger space. A bit disappointing …

Monkey bar is quite small and seems to be very gambling oriented. They have a small downstairs bar and also a second level. The staff are very friendly and they have some great cocktail jugs.

Not bad, considering the fact that we are still in a pandamic. 2nd floor was pretty much empty when our group of 8 was there on a Wednesday night. Had fun with no interruption at all.

If you want to Gamble, this is the place. Pokies, TAB, Keno. If you are after a quiet beer overlook this place
