I went to Dr. Tomaselli a few years ago for a series of implants for missing upper teeth. Dr. Tomaselli proceeded with the implant procedures (for which I paid in full) and eventually advised me that all was complete and had turned out fine. Late last year a new dentist I was seeing took x-rays of my teeth in preparation of replacing some of the implant crowns that were damaged. After reviewing the x-rays the dentist informed me that, shockingly, one of the implants was not attached to the crown for that tooth – the crown was held in place only as part of a bridge formed with the crowns of the adjacent teeth. Per the dentist as well as an oral surgeon I saw, the implant had been installed at a faulty angle and that is why Dr. Tomaselli was unable to attach a crown to it. Incredibly, Dr Tomaselli had never revealed this to me! Per the dentist and the oral surgeon, because of the passage of time it was now too late to try to have the faulty implant removed so that a new one could be correctly installed. So besides not getting a proper implant for the tooth (my purpose in seeing him), Dr. Tomaselli made it so I can never have a proper implant installed there and so I’m now permanently stuck with a bridge for this tooth. Besides not having a crown secured by an implant here, if any of the crowns for the bridge need to be replaced probably all three will need to be replaced (triple the cost) and, worst of all, per my dentist, the bridge could eventually seriously damage the adjacent teeth used for the bridge (and in fact one recently needed root canal). Upon learning of all this my friend went to Dr. Tomaselli on my behalf for an explanation (I was too upset to go myself). After looking at his file and acknowledging what had happened Dr. Tomaselli said he needed to further review the file and would then get back to my friend with an explanation to pass along to me. When my friend checked back a few weeks later not having heard anything, an assistant told him they had decided they could communicate only with me on this I then had a letter delivered to Dr. Tomaselli asking him to send an explanation directly to me – never received a response. What was done to me here has caused me incredible distress and anger.

Had my two lower wisdom teeth removed. I called in a month ago for inquiry on their consultation. The staff were very helpful with everything in regards to how they evaluate, insurance, and payment methods. Consultation: Sat down with the dental assistant and overviewed the panoramic X-ray that was taken. Due to my insurance needs, they went to max out the remaining balance by going with the more complex operation. They explained clearly how the process would be done, the insurance breakdown, and my Invisalign needs. Payment and Scheduling: This was pretty straightforward. If you pay for the treatment in advance, you receive a 5% discount. They also have credit payments through CareCredit. As for scheduling, they plan out wisdom teeth removal in the morning to get treatment done as quickly as possible. They are pretty flexible for the most part. It might be best to plan out a month in advance, especially with holiday seasons. Treatment: I came in the office and was helped by Mike, the assistant in the office. He helped explain the operation, post-op recovery steps, and how long the process would take. Helped keep me calm while getting the local anesthetic underway. Other staff discussed with me and were very friendly. Dr. Tomaselli came by with a friendly attitude and assured everything was ready to begin. Made sure i felt no pain prior to starting. Overall, i was surprised at how painless the procedure was. Both were removed before i knew it. They made sure i was okay before heading out. Summary: Great staff. Gets the job done and makes sure you leave comfortable. If you want to be sure to go to the best, I can't recommend Dr. Tomaselli enough.

Not only did I have the best cleaning I've had in my life in December, but yesterday I had the easiest filling ever as well. My cleaning not only removed significant surface stains (I’m a coffee drinker) and visibly whitened my smile, but Karley was able to remove an 8-year-old stain from my braces that I had been told by other hygienists I would just have to live with. My filling was great. I’ve had fillings in the past where the dentist has drilled before I’m totally numb, but the impressive numbing agent they use here numbed me totally almost instantly, and it wore off in less than 3 hours. I experienced absolutely no pain. Additionally, the cavity was on my upper left molar’s bite surface, so I expected the filling to feel weird when I bit together, but my tooth feels completely normal when I bite down—it's a perfectly shaped filling. Also worth noting is that I have a small, second cavity on my lower right side that both dentists agreed they “wouldn’t fill on themselves” so they didn’t require it of me. In the age where doctors tend to be hasty to recommend unnecessary procedures (particularly dentists, which were recently featured in an expose in the NYT for these practices) that was very refreshing. It increased my trust in this practice. I feel like they actually have my best interest in mind, and they aren’t just trying to pry money from me. I'm very, very happy with my experiences here. Everyone is very nice, I've never had to wait more than five minutes (even when I'm early) and I've had the best care. The only caveat is that they're a bit pricey, but overall, I think it's 100% worth it.

I've been going to Chicago Smile Design consistently for 4 years and I feel very confident in recommending this dentist to friends and associates. The people who work on me always seem very conscious of my time and comfort, making sure I am out when I need to be and not burdened unnecessarily. Kristin has been my hygienist for years. Her work is thorough and conscientious. As an example, she knows I can't really handle the drill when it comes to cleaning because my teeth are too sensitive so she always just uses the manual tool and is very good about avoiding causing me discomfort. I was originally drawn to Dr. Tomaselli because he said he always tries to avoid doing dental work that isn't really needed. I liked that idea though wasn't sure they would actually fulfill it. In 4 years, I can say I believe this is true. They only do what is needed and not try to convince me I need a lot of dentistry that I don't. Also, they handle the billing and scheduling very thoroughly. I know I will get an email and a call before my next appt so I don't have to manage all that. It's a clean, stylish facility and one cool thing is they don't have gossip magazines to read in the waiting area or in the dental salons. In fact, I basically never have to wait. Maybe it's because I always take the first appointment in the morning. But also, one time I broke my tooth and needed to see them right away. They fit me in that day so I didn't have to go a full day looking like a hillbilly!

There are not enough positive words to use when describing my experiences at Chicago Smile Design. I have never been one that is afraid of going to the dentist, but I've never ENJOYED going to the dentist. Luckily for me, I have finally found a dentist that puts any sort of ill feelings about dentists aside and makes me feel comfortable and calm going into any sort of dental procedure. I stumbled across Chicago Smile Design in search of an orthodontist for my invisalign treatment. I met with Dana who explained what I could expect to go through, and then Dr. Tomaselli met with me personally to describe the treatment. They also had great options for payment and worked with my insurance company to ensure that I received the greatest benefit possible. Aside from a painless invisalign experience, I also turned to Chicago Smile Design for general cleanings. The hygienists are courteous and friendly, and incredibly thorough with their jobs. Lastly, I also had my wisdom teeth extracted here, and they provided a great service called "conscious sedation" that made the experience a breeze. The procedure was quick and relatively painless, and Dr. Tomaselli texted me a few times over the next few days to see how I was doing. That was a great touch to a "traumatic" event. I've recommended this dentist office to all of my friends and coworkers and all have been just as pleased!

Can't say enough about this place, I am a grown man who is like a big baby when it comes to the dentist. I found this place on google near the church i used to go to about 6 miles from where i live but luckily on a brown line stop. It was the reviews that made me give this location and doctor a chance. I have around 10 dentists offices around my apartment, one across the street but location isn't always everything. I had 2 upper wisdom teeth that were bothering me and had to come out. I haven't been to a dentist in 2 years and needless to say was dreading it. This doctor was out of network for my insurance but i was in and out in 30 minutes, no stitches, no profuse bleeding, a couple ice packs some antibiotics and pain pills before numbing and boom, done. The staff is AWESOME, I highly recommend this place. High tech equipment, took a standing xray of my mouth, no nasty things to bite on. Excited to make Dr. Tomaselli and the team my permanent dentist. They even have you text the doctors cell before you leave if you have any questions or emergencies.

Synergy & Love! Dr. Tomaselli and the team at Chicago’s Smile Design have perfected the concept of teamwork! This is a community of wonderful stars, shining bright! This stellar staff begins with Blaine in scheduling who did everything to get me in the chair! Carol who orientates upon arrival but mostly makes you feel like her long time friend. Christina, who is amazing and calmly guides and supports you through the entire visit. Mike who is well, “you know” awesome! Dr. Steady Hand Tomaselli who is an absolute professional & gem! I barely felt a thing! There are so many more names so please forgive for not mentioning including Lee, (whom I’ve yet to meet.) and told the best of the best! I cannot say enough! If you need a dentist and live nearby, this is your new dental family! Phone them up and get yourself scheduled! If you commute, the brown line stop is a five minute walk and the drive is WORTH IT! All the folks at Chicago Smile Design are the absolute best in the biz! I have extreme dental anxiety that caused me to forgo an exam for a decade. From my very first visit, Dr. Patel was clear about procedures, careful to set expectations, and was just an amazingly comforting presence. I had a very tight window of time to get a decade's worth of dental work done and he managed to do it all without causing me ANY PAIN AT ALL. Truly, no pain. I was actually smiling in the chair! Every procedure, every follow up since then has been an equally amazing experience. I went from being scared to death of the dentist, to accidentally coming in a day early at chicago smile design just because I was so excited to get another cleaning! I love this practice and my family and I will never go anywhere else. These people are the absolute best, but also they're just genuinely nice to be around and make ever appointment wonderful. I was in desperate need of a new dentist, as my previous dentist passed away and my teeth were in a bad shape, but Chicago Smile Design was recommended to me by a co-worker and wow have I been grateful for this group! Immediately I had to have a root canal done due to an infection, and even though I was worried due to horror stories, Dr. Tomaselli made it a comfortable/stress-free experience! My tooth was in bad shape but he did everything he could to reduce the infection and save the tooth. Once it healed and was ready for a crown, Dr. Amy took over and was also very pleasant and helpful, making sure I got my crown put in place while fixing all my other teeth. Everyone here is not only so polite, but explains everything to me answering all my questions, makes sure I’m comfortable at all times, accommodating any concerns or change of schedules I have, and is focused on getting my teeth healthy as quickly as possible. I just finished all my fillings and root canal and I am very grateful. Thank you!

First of all I am deathly afraid of dentists due to a bad experience in my youth. When I arrived at chicago/smile-design dentist I was a bundle of nerves and unsure of my visit in so much as should I stay or should I just leave but I was greeted by the reception crew and started up a pleasent conversation with them, which began to relax my fears. It was a short time before I was sitting in the dentist chair and the dentist Peter Tomaselli walked in and struck up a conversation with me about the reason for my visit after explaining the reason, he performed his exam and then proceeded to explain what he could do to correct and repair my dental problem he explained in detail what I could expect the outcome to be. We agreed to a plan and have embarked on that road to my dental restoration project. Thanks for the great painless service that this dentist has afforded me I have continued to visit his office without any fears. Bo Ramos

I called early morning 8am to see if I could get in for what I thought was going to have to be a tooth extraction. After I had filled out paperwork they called me back for a consultation. They suggested if I was getting my tooth extracted for a cleaning (free with my insurance), so I did it. And I haven’t been happier! My gums are so much healthier because of it. Then the “bad” part I thought I was going to get my tooth extracted and just before vacation...but after a second look by the doctor he decided I just needed a filling!!! Okay that was the great part! I also have anxiety so bad I get petit mal seizures but the entire staff was AMAZING in helping me stay calm. He saved my tooth and I couldn’t be any more thankful for what the staff did for me today.

I want to start off by saying how amazing this place is! I was always scared of the dentist and the only reason why I decided to get my teeth checked out after almost 5 years was because of my boyfriend. Yes 5 years, it’s nasty and sad. The main reason why I didn’t go to the dentist was because of prices and because of a childhood trauma I had with the dentist. Anyways they give you a little tour of the place before you start! Loved that! They explained everything with details. Always made sure, I was okay during my cleaning process and talk to me to distracted me during the cleaning process as well. Sorry about my poor grammar, anyways I definitely will recommend it to my family remembers! They work with you about the cost as well!

They definitely deserve their 4.9 rating!b 3 years on and im still going to them and having great experiences. I haven't been to the dentist in several years...and it shows. I was nervous since I got my first 3 cavities in the time between. The staff went waaaay out of their way to make sure I was calm & Dr. Amy was so great with the needles I barely felt them and then NOTHING afterwards. They worked so fast! Everyone clearly likes their jobs and work well together, everyone was joking and smiling the whole time. Best dentist experience I ever had. Edit. Dr Amy is upbeat, very competent, and works to make sure you're comfortable both physically and emotionally. The support staff is also very good at their jobs and very sweet.

Dr. Tomaselli is the only dentist I trust, especially when it comes to dental implants. Friendly, professional staff and office. I have anxiety when it comes to dental work, and Chicago Smile Design makes it comfortable. I have had bad experiences at other Chicago dentists, either with doing unnecessary work, bad record keeping, or old technology requiring multiple visits for work that could be done all at once. I believe Chicago Smile Design is the best dentist office in the city. Thier hygenists and office staff are above and beyond exceptional, even emailing over records quickly when patients need copies for FSA reimbursment etc. Modern technology, professional and friendly.

I always have a pleasant experience with Dr. Tomaselli and his staff. After moving to Chicago in 2012 I was recommended to his practice by a friend. I have had extensive dental and orthodontic work (crowns, root canals, 2 sets of braces, oral surgery) and Dr. T did a thorough examination on my first appointment and gave informative and transparent feedback. No automatic high $$$ treatments "required" (feedback I received from my first dentist in Chicago). Kristin my hygienist is top notch, and I look forward to my appointments and maintaining a flossing habit to get a clean bill of health from Dr. T and Kristin! Fun and honest team, happy to have been recommended!

After having horrible tooth pain overnight, I contacted Smile Design early in the morning and they were able to get me a 10 am appointment. I had a tooth extraction and a couple of cavities filled all in an efficient and timely manner. Dr. Tomaselli and his team are absolutely wonderful, they helped me in any way they could and explained each step of the process. I would recommend everyone to go to Smile Design for all their dental needs. By the time I finished, I felt like I was at my friend's house hanging out, that's how comfortable I was there! Cannot express enough how great my experience was. Thank you for all the help, looking forward to my next visit.

The best! So thorough in their cleaning- thanks Michelle! So professional, knowledgeable and kind. The Dentist spent so much more time with me than I’ve seen at other dentists offices - which is nice when you go for a cleaning and an exam that you really do get the exam part! Especially great for me- they were able to tell me all about the X-ray machine since I’m a little worried about them generally. Michelle was so kind and gave me knowledge in such detail that I felt much better about it- knowing it is a new, top of the line machine and basically the safest they come. I have moved around dentists for a while and now have found a really great one.

I was a true fan of Chicago Smile Design until recently. I had a great experience with Dr. T and he was always accommodating and friendly. My last two routine cleanings were not great, the dental hygienist was terrible. I suggested by boyfriend visit and his experience was also unpleasant. He was overcharged due to an overlook by an office assistant and again the hygienist was terrible. Front office folks aren't always the nicest but for Dr. T I could oversee that part. Recently got a text message to schedule an appointment and decided to pass. They never asked why, didn't seem to care that much so I felt like I made the right decision.

First of all, I have been a patient with Dr. Tomaselli since January of 2010. My first visit was to get Invisalign braces because he has alot of experience when it comes to clear braces. So now that I have straight teeth, I still get to visit him 2-3 times a year because he gave me full confidence with any dental work. From what I know he is Super Elite Premier. Dr. Tomaselli shows professionalism and really cares about his patient. I love his whole staff. They are very friendly specially Kristin D. my hygienist for over 3 years now. Once again, I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. See you all in my next visit appt.. :)

I went to have a wisdom tooth removed that had been bothering me for some time. It has been a while since I've gone to a dentist and he was recomended to me. The staff is EXTREMELY nice and helpful and the office is VERY clean and easy to find. Dr. Tomaselli explained in detail everything that he would be doing and what would need to be done after the procedure. I was in and out faster than I thought I would be. I have many more sessions I need to attend with him, and I'm extremely happy to have such a professional working on my future smile. Oh and I almost forgot the important part, I felt absolutely no pain .

Walking in the door Chelsea and Arbs welcomed me so kindly! They made it so easy to complete the rest of my paperwork that seemed to keep not going through on the website. Leslie made sure I was super comfortable while everything was getting set up for my cleaning, and she also explained the scan process so I could understand it. Alyssa Russow was my RDH and she did an incredible job. She kept checking on me to make sure I was comfortable, and was extremely thorough while cleaning my teeth. I never thought I would be excited to go back in 6 months to see my hygienist, but I really cant wait!

I will definitely be recommending Chicago Smile and Design to friends and family. It was so easy to book an appointment with them and they instantly made me feel comfortable. They are very organized, professional, and clean. Christy was super friendly and I’m so grateful she was willing to to adjust her schedule to fit me in for my follow up appointment. Leslie was also able to quickly get me prepped for an Invisalign consult which I have been wanting for some time now. Overall, I’m happy I chose this location and I actually look forward to receiving my dental care from them.

From start to finish - hands down this is the best dentist office in Chicago. The administrative staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating. Dr Tomaselli is an incredibly experienced dentist who executes the oral care plan with precision and expediency! He has a very caring chair side manner - which is important for those long and tough cases. And finally the dental assistant - Sriva is world class and makes you as comfortable as you possibly can be. She anticipates your needs proactively. Can’t say enough about this team. They have literally transformed my smile.

I just left Chicago Smile Design and wanted to say if you're looking for a dentist, look no further. Everyone here from the receptionist to the doc is so positive and they create a calming atmosphere. Today started with Lelie getting x-rays quickly and smoothly. Then Alyssa came in to take a closer look. She was very personable and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Patel remembered my last visit and was able to diagnose any issues right away. Chicago Smile Design is by far the best dental office I have ever visited!!!

I have moved further away from their location and still travel to this dentist because they are such a great practice. I had the dentist visit from hell on Monday, and was so traumatized that I walked out before those hacks could do real damage. Not only did Dr. Tomaselli and his delightful staff fit me in for a 2nd opinion visit within less than 24 hours of my contacting them, but they fixed the problem that the other dentist started -- all in less than 35 mins. The entire staff was professional, experienced, and TRUSTWORTHY. I would give 10 stars, if google would let me. DEFINITELY GO HERE!!!

Dr T is awesome I called him in the evening and he helped my 11 yearwho had a really bad toothache. Dr .A pulled his tooth the next day he did a great job with him. Both doctors checked on him the next day to make sure he is ok awesome dentist. Dr T too really good care of my husband who was kissing a tooth and he replace his tooth. Dr A took good care of me yesterday with my cavity awesome job.i recommend Dr Tomaselli dental office 1000 percent awesome. Great job

I love this dentist office they are amazing. This was the most comfortable I’ve ever been in a dentist office. From the moment you walk in it’s nice and clean. You feel like family your checked in and offered a drink while you wait. Then Sarvi gave me a tour of the place while she took me back to do X-rays and she was so gentle with the whole process. Then Blaine came back to go over the billing process and care plan. The whole staff is friendly and knowledgeable

Dr. Tomasselli is one of the best dentist I know. I have know him for over 15 years and his work is the best. He also uses high quality products. When I moved out of Chicago I did see other dentists that asked me who did the exceptional work on my teeth and it was Dr. Tomasselli. He truly is passionate and enjoys what he does, and that is rare. Now that I'm back in the area I'll only be going to him. Thank you Dr. Tomasseli for the work you did on my teeth.

I recently moved back to Chicago and needed a new dentist. I went and saw Dr. Tomaselli after seeing 2 other dentists in the Chicago land area. Dr. Tomaselli was top notch and hands on. He met with me to discuss my needs before laying a hand on my teeth. He was extremely attentive and did everything I needed, at my first appointment! His office is clean, professional, and up to date. I would definitely recommend him, I've finally found my new dentist!

When I walked in, I was greeted by 4 smiling faces of the staff and felt a good and professional vibe immediately! It continued throughout my meeting with Dr Tomaselli, who was able to accommodate my needs (having TMJ), my exam with excellent hygienist Kristy, and dental exam with Dr. Amy. The office is spotless and pleasant. They bill my insurance first, and did not suggest treatments I don’t need. I trust them a lot, and am glad to have found them!

I’ve been an unwavering fan of CSD and Dr Tomaselli since 2009/2010. Over a period of years I didn’t have dental insurance and I gladly paid out of pocket for Kristy to clean my teeth. She is the best! I moved to the suburbs in 2019 and still make the drive to the city because I don’t trust anyone else with my teeth. In all honesty, I have never been happier with a dentist.....ever!!!! Dr. Tomaselli is thorough, skilled, an absolute tooth perfectionist, gentle, kind and yes, even funny!!! Actually, the entire staff fits the above description. I have had cleanings, Invisalign, gum work, general dentistry, and now veneers. My smile is healthy and pretty thanks the Dr. Tomaselli and crew!!! I could not recommend him more.

I decided to do Invisalign here about fifteen years ago and never looked back. Chicago Smile Design has an amazing team of dentists and the BEST hygienist I have ever had. My teeth are very sensitive, Christy is so understanding and patient with me. The dentists are also very kind. CSD has an amazing staff and cutting edge technology. This place is awesome.

All of the staff here are really wonderful, kind, and friendly. I've never waited more than a couple minutes for a scheduled appointment, and they do great work. I've had a couple fillings done here, and I would recommend Chicago Smile Design to anyone looking for a great team of dentists and hygienists who really care about their work and their patients.

This was my 1st time here - they were amazing! Christy was so gentle with the x-rays and cleaning and so great at explaining everything. I need a lot of work! In the past - at other places - that sort of thing always felt overwhelming, but the team at this office run things so smoothly, I feel confident about my treatment plan and like I am good hands.

10 out of 10 would recommend! All the staff here is amazing and helped make my transition to a new dental office a breeze. From the first consultation to the cleaning everything was very nice and easy. I've been going to Dr. Tomaselli for more than 20years. I've tried different dentists just because I've moved further away from his office but each time the experience with other dentists just couldn't compare. Dr. Tomaselli knows what he is doing and he is very good at what he does. The other staff in the office are super nice. Great place!

I've been going to Smile Design on North ave. Since 2014. I'm not a person who is very comfortable in any kind of clinical environment, but the whole team there are very welcoming, so your concentration doesn't dwell on being nervous. Plus, they're helping me keep teeth in my mouth. They're very good at that too!

Majority of the time people dread going to the dentist, However, if you go to Chicago Smile Design and see Pete you will never dread the dentist again. Pete is AMAZING, super nice, and has a gentle hand when it comes to surgical procedures. The staff is super friendly even if it is 8am on Monday morning.

Dr. Tomaselli did a fantastic job with my invisalign. I spoke to a lot of other dentists that pitched a low ball price and once we met they tried to upsell me. Chicago Smile Design was great and gave me real pricing and great service. Don't trust anyone else.
