Hello - friends of this mall from it's heyday may not be as satisfied with the inside of the mall as they are the outside. Noticeably apparently gone is Red Barron, whose video games, pinball machines and state of the art sit-down space adventures by Exidy and other manufacturers/developers are no where to be seen. They used to have a spin cycle racing game with real cycles attached. When yutes (youths) found out you could slam the top of it and receive free games (when they didn't exit or trespass you), their solution was to put nails through shipping tape standing on-end to teach the young ones using pain, what happens when you steal entertainment. Years later, kids pirated music and movies, which was much less painful for them and hurt a whole industry rather than their sensitive young paws. Makes you wonder what the moral of the story is. Anyway, go e as well is "Monkey Wards" and the deli and other stuff that we loved. The Gap and Orange Julius are gone and other places have appeared even where Radio Shack was. The highlight of the mall is a cool place to buy great dollar rings and also missing is the Barbizon School of Modeling, which taught female empowerment along with the perception that all women are smart and beautiful. This is the mall of the next generation, with a great chicken joint before you enter Wallmart from the inside of the mall (it has a giant Batman videogame in it) and accepts EBT cards as of this writing. Also delicious is the Chinese Buffet and Korean Barbecue with outstanding prices and very clean and delicious food (and the best ice cream of any buffet in town served in individual cups.) There is a Dollar Tree, a Movie Theatre, and it is a great place to bring the family and get reacquainted with and share memories with your family. Leave out the part where you had to walk 25 miles to get there in the snow barefoot. They will hardly believe Tony from Peter Piper Pizza used to sell Large Pepperoni pizzas for $3.99...and people used to think that was too high! :-) Have fun - I did!
I loved this mall with it's arching roof and food court murals. It was very clean and the food choices, althoug limited to 3 restaurants inside, was very good quality. I'f you've never tried the pizza pretzel, The pretzel booth also has slushie lemonade and slushie strawberry lemonade that was divine!. You've got to try one. There are colorful coin opperated rides, mutliple gumball and candy stations through out the one story indoor mall. The waterfountains are automated. They turn on when you stand infront of them. The bathrooms were also automated. You can get your hair cut here and get a fantastic foot massage. Walmart has a direct entreranc to the mall that is open once again. Harkin Theater is not connected directly to the all and nither is the Target and all the outside stores facing west do not have mall enterances. It was very clean and classy looking. Totally worth exploring.
These people are rude and distrustful. They have all that security, with facial recognition and loss prevention in place, and insist you leave backpacks outside. I can't BEGIN to describe the hardships they've forced pedestrians to endure who are trying to shop in the Walmart. They take locked up UNDERGARMENTS to the register with long lines and make you wait in a LONG line even if you only have a few items, instead of walking you to the self-checkout. If I could, I'd picket line and boycott that Walmart. Their customer service and general attitudes are right out of a horror movie, utterly desensitized to the needs of their customers. I wouldn't recommend that Walmart to ANYONE, unless they were someone you hated.
This is an indoor mall located on 19th Ave and Bethany Home Rd. just east of the I-17. We like coming here to eat at Charley's Philly Steaks. They have a Wal-Mart and a JC Penny's attached to the shopping mall, and also have a Visionworks right in the center. We really like this mall because we can eat good food, get groceries and also get nice name brand clothing and housing decorations for the household as well as makeup for my wife at the Sephora inside the JC Penny's. Very nice setup and a family favorite to come eat and take nice walks around the establishment
This mall is in need of some upgrading inside. They recently redid the north side parking lot though. There is a Target, Walmart, etc.... here, but they could use some better stores here, it would be a good improvement. On the plus side, they have a public transportation hub nearby (very close, SW corner by Target), as well as the light rail, and some fast food joints along the north perimeter, and a Walgreens @ the NW corner. There is also a decent movie theater here: Christown Spectrum.
Not my favorite mall in the valley. It's a little bit long in the tooth and it shows but they've made a whole hearted attempt at updating this mall to bring it back to life. That being said, it's still a little rough and doesn't always give me the type of stores that I would want to see or frequent. The demographic doesn't really vibe with me either. Nothing wrong with it, it's just really not my scene.
I love Christown Spectrum Mall. Being a Native from Phoenix Arizona. I've been shopping at Christown Mall for many years. The Dollar Tree has met my many needs, with food prices so high. I can get so many different types of food. And even sweets and ice cream. Target and Walmart offer lots of things that I like. Thanks staff at dollar tree. I am happy the Mall is still open. YAAASSSS! ❤️
This little mall still amazes me. After so many decades it is still successful in bringing customers in. I've been coming to this mall since I was young and it really hasn't changed all that much aside from different stores coming and going. I really like the changes I've seen here and I'm really happy to see that there American Furniture Warehouse has taken over the spot where Costco once was.
I didn't see much of the mall because I was just passing through to get to the Walmart. Just to get angry about not being allowed into Walmart cause I was wearing a backpack. I wouldn't have a problem with that if I was driving a car but I didn't and so I waited outside until the person I was with came out. I came a long way just to stand outside.
It's was very nice, I went to America Best, Contacts & Lens, took a Trip to Ross's, Plus a little trip to PetSmart just looking at the baby Bungie parakeets, They are cute, plus looking at the Kong Chew toys cuz my service dog is a puppy still, Beta Fish. I like this Christown Spectrum, I Hope & Pray That They don't Tear This Mall Down Either.
This is a nice clean Mall. It's great to be able to go in and have the experience of being in the shopping mall of the 90s and brings back good memories of good times. Christown Spectrum keeps that feeling going by providing a good clean shopping mall experience with all the experiences we had 30 years ago in shopping malls across America.
8/2023, still a mostly dead mall, covered in smelly transients, a horrible walmart, a dirty PetSmart, a questionable target, an absolutely filthy and mostly under stocked dollar something store...run away from, not to Christown. Dying mall. It is a mess. It is needs a good cleaning and removal of homeless. LOCK YOUR CAR!!!!
This mall was amazing when I was a teenager it was the place to be on the weekends. Today it is still a vibrant and fun place to visit they have food trucks on some days as well as live music there's a brand new place to get wings and a new taco place also American furniture store I love going there with my granddaughter
This store has the WORST customer service!! NO ONE ever greets me! The staff ALWAYS has a poor attitude and despite making three times what they make, I see them watching me while I am in the store. After today, I will NEVER return here. For other Black shoppers, Wave has a better customer experience!
Christown is a favorite of mine and has been for a long time. Wide variety of stores where I can acquire anything I want or need. Always clean, well l I hated, sage environment for families. You won't be disappointed if you choose to try Christown mall There is a Wal-Mart Superstore here also!
Really helpful staff more than willing to go out of their way for you & go there extra little bit to get you want your looking. I had a return once they were more than happy to help me no problems no headaches. I've always been treated politely & respectfully at this store.
This is a very odd mall. Combination of traditional mall, strip mall, and standalone big box stores. Was suprised to see comments regarding recent updates as I felt like mall was out of date. Would not recommend unless mall has the specific store you want.
This place is still standing strong! We love this place . Costco might've moved out but it still has Walmart and other establishments around such as Pet Smart, Ross, Big 5, And many more.. also got some nice restaurants around the lot …
Pulled up to Carls Jr. drivethru@ 2045& didn't complete my transaction(order to pick up) until 2110. I asked why it took so long,&was given the excuse the system was acting up& there were two(2) new female employees. Very poor customer service.
Access to this mall is by the light rail, so it's very smooth. I came here as a tourist looking for groceries, and wanting to visit a Costco, so that worked well. There are no coffee shops here, none! I'm from Melbourne, and that's not natural.
Management likes it Wild, Inside the mall. Lots of unsupervised kids. Join the party, kids on the loose, running, jumping up and down, screaming, and yelling. The party gets going when a group of kids forms. Join the party or get out of the
The christown mall in Phoenix was a very clean place and well organized. It was easy to find the stores I was looking for as they had maps at all the entrances as well as certain other places inside the mall. I really enjoyed the smell of
Christown mall is the mall that keeps on... existing? I grew up around the area, I e seen this mall go from dumpy little shopping center to a powerhouse of big stores, to what is is now, which is actually still better than whar it was in
I haven't been to this mall in awhile and was surprised how nice it was. My daughter and I went to the ulta and then got food. Very enjoyable experience. I will definitely be back.( parking is a little inconvenient but it is a mall.)
This place is so huge a full of businesses that you better wear your comfy shoes when come in shopping, of course you will end with a few more pair of shoeses for sure. Tons of entertraitment for all the family and alone also ;)
Beautiful Mall Great selection of stores. BUT Dollar store wouldn't let me enter without bending over my backpack and the same thing with the Walmart! I understand the blue heads (Fentanyl heads) ruin it for the rest of us
The Harkins here was so outdated and the chairs were so tight to one another. I literally watched a two hour movie with my hands crossed because I didn’t want to touch some random guy with hairy arms right next to me.
It was my first time visiting this place .. I love NY .. there are many great places to go in NY ... Unlike AZ where they don't even have good food. If you're ever in NY visit this place alot to see and do there
Was only there for the music festival. It is a very nice place. Food places and shopping all around. Even when there isn't something going on, the area is great to take a break from walking around Old Town.
This place is really scary with the amount of homeless people hanging out around the mall! I've heard the Target store in the center has one of the largest shoplifting episodes of any store in the area
Went to Buffet on courner of 15 th. Great food nice place . I'm 70 , and no discount, I only had 1 plate of food. My granddaughter was with me it was over 40$,that's just not worth the drive or money
Starting to love this place. Multiple shops in one place very convenient. And shops we actually go to unlike most malls. Great food choices surrounding mall without leaving parking lot.
Used to love going here as a kid. Ever since Costco left, this place is like a ghetto. The stores are dirty and not maintained, a few crackheads outside, and overall a worse place. Sad.
This outdoor mall has been around since forever and surely has seen better days but it does have so many ships and restaurants nearby that's it's a one stop area and convenient
It looks like they are trying to clean this mall up finally. Still needs renovations but better than I remember it being. I would bring pepper spray cause of the area.
They have done alot of renovations to make this mall, newer and clean cut The harkins is not inside the mall though, rather it is behind on the South side of the plaza
This mall needs a face lift!!! it is kind of empty and low energy. It feels sad...... inside there. One can tell that merchants are suffering financially there.... :(
The mall isn't that nice. They don't kept it well and pleasant in eyes. Look gloomy we could hear kids screamed all the way in corridors. I won't go back here again
The mall is in need of an upgrade. Visited Target which has finished remodeling since my last visit! It is a Super Target so it is a big store, many registers too!
This place is a joke, it's a geto strip mall connected to a Walmart and one of the worst Walmarts in town. The homeless geto druggies swarm here like roaches.
Honestly I have no idea how but I was doing what I went to this. I think it's a general shopping mall or the JCPenney have no idea either way, not memorable
Mall should be closed it is old and scary. Do have great memories of Christown from the 1960's and 1970's so sad to see what this "mall" has become. …
Visited this area to charge the Telsa. They have a 14 stall suoer charger set up . The chargers are located right next to the BOA or what used to be BOA.
Product quality has gone downhill, employees are rude, regardless of where you shop. It's rare to find anyone who actually works, or wants to be helpful.
Nice to re-visit Christown...although I miss the original Mall. Not too many stores I would shop, but lived Wal-mart found alot of nice things there.
I don't know I really don't go with that christown to me looks like he's dead and you don't really shopping stuff in there just a little bit of stuff
Good price the couch at one store not the others look at more than one store they can get them. But if they are not on the floor then you Don know.
I like going to this mall because Walmart is attached to the entrance so I can leave the mall, grab dinner at Walmart, go home, cook, and chill.
The mall is really strange. Chris Town was off the chain in the day. We were Mall Rats, Metro are Christown.Surprise it has not closed down.
Great place to go walking indoors to avoid the heat. With the walmart and the American furniture warehouse and long corridors indoors.
Game stop and some good shoe stores and good place to take your lady or sister or you want to buy some clothes for your mom or sister
Don't ask to use the bathroom at this location if it's like 30 mins away from close time you'll be denied most likely every time
Closes at 7:( I watched over 50 people try to go into the mall but can’t because you close at 7. SMH soo much money lost !
Ok, place, a little on the small side. If you the store you need is here, it's a good place to go since it's not crowded.
Lots of shopping options. Walmart auto dept. workers are great here! This location has more options than other walmarts.
Only complaint I did was about prices while shopping . Staff however was very nice and helpful with my checking out.
Nice, clean place to cool off and shop. Don’t bring a backpack with you if you plan on shopping at Walmart! …
Best pet smart. Staf very caring love Heather she is always there to help ,I was very sick but she made my day.
Great place I've been coming to this area since I was young it would be nice if they renovated it …
Nice, clean, well kept. Happy every time I go. The only downside is the shops inside close super early.
I've been going here since I was a young kid. It isn't like it was at all pretty much a strip mall now.
still one of the only Malls left in Phoenix. i been coming here since it was called Valley West Mall!
Many of the former shops in this area have since closed down and walking is a little difficult
Mall been around for age's alot has changed since I been great stores alot to see and buy
This Mall still has great potential to reinvent itself, it just needs to move forward.
I went there to see a movie. Other than that, I don't know a thing about it.
I like this shopping center its clean and easy to find what your looking for
Not really much to do there, but walking around, the atmosphere is spacious
So glad they are PetSmart and America's Best what would I do without them.
Dangerous for all forms of life. Stay away.or bring a gun for protection.
I wish there we're more nice places to shop ,miss the Halloween store .
Nice place to do some shop & get something to drink or eat will be back
Good food for wings nice spot in back could park truck thanks
I've been going to this mall for over 30 years I love it
The mall has business going ok but lost a lot of stores
A lot of ppl and it's nice and beautiful place to go
I like this mall. Just wish it had way more stores
Never to busy, always find a decent place to park
