Never shopping here again! About a month ago, I purchased an Arizona blonde tarantula from this location. First off it was over priced for a common spider, 100$ for something they probably spent 20-35 on is pretty ridiculous! The girl that helped us out with looking at this baby told us that they’re all captive breed tarantulas, but at this time the poor spider now has an infection that can only be caught by being in the wild or by feeders, we never got to feed them due to this species is known for going on hunger strikes but we realized her abdomen was shrinking and decide to make sure they ate. Unfortunately they can’t due to the infection it’s nematodes that close her mouth and makes her fangs not work. So either the employee lied to us to just get a quick sale or they had bad feeder! My spider is now dying due to either bad feeders on their part or due to being wild caught which we told her we won’t purchase if so due to issues. Never shop there! Overpriced and lied to use!

I've done business here for a long time. Bought lizards, fish, birds etc here as well as their food and supplies. I like to do business with local stores. Today I called to make sure they had crickets made sure they closed at 7 and blasted across town so that I have stuff to feed the veritable zoo we keep in our house. Got there at 6:58 and the doors are locked. I wave at one of the employees and she comes up to the door and cheerfully explains to me that they already have customers in the store who they have to check out and that them leaving work is more important than my business or honoring posted hours of operation. Disappointing from a place I patronize regularly to say the least.

I used to love this store shopped here for 10 years. It was conveniently by my house as well. Sorry to say after today it's my last visit. Staff treated me like I was stupid. My son was so excited to pick out his first Beta. Then Your staff says, Dont buy that tank we should not even sell those 2 gallon tanks. Then tell me betas belong in 5 gallon tank yet are sold in 2 ounces of water? Then tell me i should not buy the betas today at all. The business owners might want to let their fish employees know that they are there to make sales not inhibit them...my son was crushed his first visit where he gets to pick his very own fish and this is how we were treated. Sad.

Thanks to fish Mike! He salvaged what was a disastrous trip 2 Clarks. I had been overlooked by multiple employees and had requested help from many, but fish Mike to the rescue! He was truly apologetic on behalf of the company and for the ill treatment I had received. He was thoughtful and truly problem solving the issue that I had come to Clarks to get resolved. Clark's is a niche specialty type of supply store for pets. They have extensive knowledge and supplies in ponds, this was the impetus for my trip to Clarks. As with most of my reviews it's ultimately the interaction with exceptional employees that make or break an interaction with a business.

Got a cute little hammy. He seems healthy enough. We were able to find all the accessories we needed and got the essential info from the employees. They were all friendly. My only complaint is we stood around waiting for someone to help us and 2 employees were chatting away not too far from us and didn't seem to realize we were there. But once they noticed we were given prompt and friendly service. The cashier seemed especially excited for our new pet. I would definitely go back and I would recommend it to my friends and family.

Bleu, my bearded dragon, recommends Clark's. She says their Dubia roaches are delicious. She likes hers with a side of large cricket and greens. Meal worms don't really appeal to her. I buy from Clark's for 2 main reasons!! 1) The crickets aren't ½ dead already as with other places. They are healthy and active. Good quality. Their Dubia roaches are excellent as well. So, QUALITY! 2) Every time I visit, I get greeted by a kind, friendly, and helpful staff. This is true for both locations. Both locations are clean as well.

I would not give them any stars if possible. Went in bought over 100 dollars in fish and that day the employees were very friendly. Took the fish home and 3 did not make it. We brought them back to the store and the rude manager said he wouldn’t do anything if we didn’t have a sample of the fish water (even though all of the other fish survived). We explained that we lived over 40 miles away and he said it didn’t matter. Never doing business here again. This is what kills local businesses, bad customer experience...

Upset that this store did not refund a cricket card I bought for 50$. They talked me into buying it. I was excited to start becoming a new customer. But when I bought my first 20 crickets to give my bearded dragon she had no interest and seemed afraid of them. I was told they would be refundable but when I called the next day I was told the crickets were not refundable. The card neither so I’ve learned a lesson but will find a different pet store to do future business.

Have always preferred Clark’s. The staff is friendly, always available to help. They offer mostly high-end brands. The prices have always beaten all the other pet boutiques in the Albuquerque area, however, they recently raised prices by quite a bit, perhaps due to the current economy. They may now be comparable to the bigger chain stores. Unfortunately, Clark’s may no longer be my go-to from now for that reason. Will have to do some price comparisons.

Clark's (both locations) are our preferred pet stores. They're a great local business, the employees always seem happy, they're clean, and they have good selection with competitive prices. There are some treats there that our dog Lucie loves that the big box pet stores(Petco,Petsmart) never seem to carry. Their birds are always in good health too, and I notice that they sell buggies in pairs, which means they actually care about their wellbeing.

Friendliest staff of any retail establishment I've ever been in! I go in to pick up various items for a friend's zoo and every time, I am awestruck by how kind and helpful every employee is. Genuine, good people, a nice selection of pet needs. They may not be the cheapest, but they are locally owned, knowledgeable and truly love their customers, plus they are one of the only places you can get live feeder rats for snakes here in Albuquerque!

This is a very exciting store!! It's large and completely organized. All types of projects for all our furry and feathered friends. The people are excellent at their job. One young man in the department where there is treats, chew bones, dog biscuits. It was an amazing experience and educational on so many goodies for our pets. Actually it would be a great experience to go just to be educated. I enjoyed myself. Thank you "Clark's "

Picked up some honey gourami from here. They are so healthy and beautiful! The whole fish room was very well kept and employee super knowledgeable. He was giving excellent advice to another customer. This review is regarding the one on menaul. The one on lomas is very depressing for fish people. Tanks look like trash and some of the fish aren't doing very well. If you're shopping aquarium, this is the one to come to.

Great prices (some better than Amazon or PetSmart) and helpful staff. I finally found my puppy’s food and my multi-cat litter at awesome prices down the road from my house. They also have awesome treats from tons of sustainable focused companies that will convince my pup to do just about anything. The trout and apple treats from Rocky Mountain are priceless during nail trims and daily brushing!

Had a great experience at Clark's today. One young female employee allowed my grandson pet a ginnea pig knowing we weren't there for that pet. She even let him name it, Butterscotch, based on a small patch of its fir. Another young man helped him pick feeder goldfish for our pond. Clean, friendly staff, great selections and good pricing. Give them a visit and they won't disappoint. :)

The employees at this store are always extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The quality of the products they offer is also much higher than any other pet store in the area. It is a large space and they are always fully stocked with all imaginable products for just about any pet. They also work with a local nonprofit for all their cat adoptions. Absolutely love this place!

Love shopping at Clarks! The staff are always so friendly & helpful. I appreciate how they don't try to upsell you, but instead guide you through any questions or issues that you have. BIG kudos to Izzy & Angie in the dog section, who have helped me with my doggo's ongoing skin & allergy issues. They really know their food & nutrition! Support local business!

Best pet store in town. Fair prices, great staff, awesome selection. We have a ball python, leopard gecko, hamster and a dog and we can get everything in one place. Much better pricing than Chewy.com, PetSmart, Amazon and all the other pet stores I’ve been to here in Albuquerque. Also one of the only stores for live feed for reptiles. Great store and staff!

Always love Clark's! Prices are pretty good. Over the years the quality of customer service has gone down but pretty ok for the most part. My ONLY complaint is the hours. It's hard to make it after work during the week due to the 6pm closing time. Wed they close at 7pm which is a little better. Would be nice if all the days were 7pm closing time.

We took our 3 kids there to pick up some supplies. It was supposed to be a fun trip to the pet store, but they had to act afool. Surprisingly, they answered all our questions and acted like our kids weren't bothering them at all. I think we even made a friend in the fish dept. The cashier was super friendly too. You don't get that everywhere

I came here to get a Betta fish and they have a great variety of colors and kinds here. The fish look a lot healthier here than you'd find in the chain stores and the color variety is better too. They sell aquarium tank plants at reasonable prices also and the variety of aquarium life is great. Sales people are helpful and attentive

They need to update with Google because Google said they carried something and the gentleman on the phone said they didn't. When I first asked for a oxygen mask he told me they didn't carry oxygen I would have to get it from my vet I assured him I already had the oxygen I needed the mask and he still seemed bewildered. Oh well!

They have always been very helpful and very kind at this store. The also seem to stock a lot of items others don't- for items like aquariums, tubes for rodents and food for reptiles. The only small issue is that a lot of times I have gone, they don't have certain items in stock. That could be a covid problem though.

As always Clark has what I need. I do recommend calling if you are in need of feeder rodents or any type of feeder insects as they don't always have them in stock. Towards the end of the week they tend to not have the stock. I always go there for my needs for my snakes as their products are always good quality.

Very helpful, nice, and knowledgeable staff. Not only where they able to answer all of my questions, but they were happy to do so. I would definitely recommend this place if you have a pet. The store is bigger than I thought it was, and seems to have a better inventory than some of the other major retailers.

I wanted to give a HUGE shoutout and a big THANK YOU! I bought a Kong toy for my HEAVY chewers and they destroyed it within about 20 minutes. They returned it and I purchased a different Kong toy. It seems to be holding up for them. Lol I wanted to say THANK YOU for standing behind your products!!!

Lotsa dead fish , dirty tanks, legless crayfish defenceless anthropoids good staff though, suspect maybe bad management and ,poor compensation , training. Out for buck. I went in to find a better quality food for my 2 little dogs than what I'd been buying at Walmart. The young man who helped me was extremely helpful. He really listened to what I was looking for. He was very patient and kind. I will definitely be going back to support this awesome local business.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff, and a wide selection of food for a wide selection of pets. They even have dubias for your reptiles (far better for them than crickets). And, of course, if you're looking for a pet, they have a good selection, and can give valuable advice on taking care of them.

George helped me find the perfect medium size cat tree for my queen. In no time at all, Nova was zooming all over, on, and around the cat nip treated furniture. I was initially weary of the price, but even the first day of kitty happily playing for hours was priceless. Thank you!

Excellent selection and very friendly staff. They also have a cat rescue which is pretty cool. In addition, they do a great job tracking your rewards programs purchases for you which makes tracking and redemption much easier than doing it on your own.

This place is awesome! Got my cat from here on my birthday a few years back! They also guided us in the right direction for supplements to help my Dobermans coat! Would give 5 stars but they've been out of crickets for my Gecko the last 3 visits.

Came in for a 4 gallon water dispensor for my dog, staff was helpful and pleasant. You will always pay a premium at a brick and mortor store, I could of gotten it cheaper online, but we need to stimulate our local economy whenever we can.

Clark's has been around for a long time, surpassing other companies, but not yet well. Fish tanks are not very clean, missing prices on 70 percent of the store, how do I shop? However staff is much better very friendly and quick to help.

They helped me get rid of a nasty algae problem. Black Beard Algae messes up the inside walls and objects in your fresh water fish tank. They also advised me how to keep it away and now I again have the happiest fish in town.

We live 3 hours away and drive down to Clark's because of their reptiles. Every time we visit the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. So far have 2 Tarantulas and a Scorpion. Will be back to peruse for more creepy crawlies!

Recently bought a healthy juvenile frog from these guys after visiting several times and observing feedings. They take great care of their animals from what I can tell, and their pet supplies are fairly affordable.

I love going here! It's where we pick up food for both my leopard gecko and my doggies. They don't really have my cat's food, but their other cat products are pretty good! The staff are super kind and helpful!

They are always very nice and helpful for me. When I walk in I browse around a little and an employee will ask you if you need help with anything and if you do they are normally extremely knowledgeable here.

Sam is very knowledgeable and always willing to help educate customers. All fish are healthy and well taken care of. I like to keep high end cichlids, this store is the only one I trust to stock my tanks.

We had an idea of what we were looking for but Sam was very informative of species of freshwater fish. I would highly recommend to speak with Sam if you're unsure what to put in your aquarium tank.

They carry a lot of exotic supplies. However, the staff is usually pretty rude. You can stand around and wait for help for 20+ minutes. The girl who works with the spiders is the absolute worst.

We recently brought our parakeets in to have their beaks trimmed. Their bird specialist is very professional, and does a great job with our little fine feathered friends.

Clark's is a well stocked, well informed (staff) pet store. I've been coming here for numerous years for dry dog food and assorted healthcare products for my canine pal.

They didn't have what I needed, but the fish guy was very helpful and courteous. They have a huge selection of everything just not my particular need. I'll be back.
