*Update* 2021.07.01 TL;DR subpar service, promised resolution never received. The promised partial refund never posted, even after owner said he submitted. I waited a month past since some processes can take that long. Businesses can make mistakes & it's how they're handled that matters. *Update* 2021.06.09 The owner has reached out repeatedly to resolve the issue. Waiting for the agreed upon resolution to post. *2021.05.11* Not Worth the $300 - Not a "Detail" Equivalent to a <$100 hand wash and vacuum at a drive through place that takes < hour. I do NOT RECOMMEND based on my experience. Perhaps it was an off day, but that's not worth a $300 risk. I should have stopped to inspect the car before paying -- please make sure you do so. **Pick a few detail places on your car in advance that you'll inspect upon pick-up as a 'spot check.' I didn't think of this until I got home, and didn't notice a lot of the other areas until I finished detailing it this weekend in prep of photos to sell it (it was in my carport, unused, these past weeks). At first glance, the car exterior will look great! Doing the tires always makes a car look sharp. However, there were so many "details" that were missed or subpar that I could not recommend at this price point. Pros: tires looked great and they added a shine to the chrome. Windows are wonderfully clean. Almost all surfaces were wiped down. Cons: I did call on the fact that they quite obviously missed the center console when I got home. Scott DID offer to have me bring it back in to clean that portion, but it's not worth my time to arrange another ride and flex my work schedule to do so. Also, as I discovered other areas I was less than impressed with, I'm always nervous letting a company resolve something from a rather unsatisfied customer. Do it right the first time. Other noticeable missed areas were that the interior door weather stripping hadn't been wiped down/conditioned, and the crevices of the seats still had dust debris in them. I was specifically hoping brush + vacuum (a tool I don't have) would be a typical cleaning protocol for seats (as it is on other detailers' websites). The vents were not cleaned, the trunk had not been vacuumed. These are all things that are addressed when I've had vehicles detailed in the past (in other states). On top of the Full clean package, I had looked at the price chart in case I needed to pay extra to have the carpets cleaned, but it was supposed to be included in the full package. The carpets were well-vacuumed, but didn't look like they'd been washed beyond the mats (I've used an upholstery attachment in the past and gotten them spotless). My car was considered the 'larger size" (+$20) which was surprising given it's a small sedan and it required an extra hour (+$49) for being "dirty" (I have no pets or kids, and detail my own car at least twice a year, so there's never anything "ground in"). I was kindly given the lower price (-$10) for that extra hour. Making for a total of extra $59 on the anticipated full package price of $199 + $49 for 'leather conditioning.' I thought the leather conditioning would help spiff up the leather seats, but it looked the same as when I condition them. I could give them a good scrub with conditioner and they'd be better off. While there were several very fancy cars in the warehouse beautifully cleaned, mine had been parked on the street with a storm blowing in with a couple windows down. I got the impression if I was someone important or had a fancy/new car, the quality of the work would have been different (owner/manager name-dropped they'd done the governor's car a few weeks back. I'm sure they didn't miss anything.) Note: I am VERY detail oriented in cleaning, and if I had the proper tools and didn't have angry carpal tunnel, this was something I was going to do. But because of those constraints, I chose to hire someone to do it. My bank account now regrets that.
I have worked for Clark Executive Detail for a few years. My. Clark would pressure us to get the job done as soon as possible which meant we took a lot of shortcuts or used extremely harsh chemicals for quick results. We routinely used acid based wheel cleaner on wheels to get rid of the brake dust quickly but it is extremely corrosive to the wheel. We even used this acid cleaner on body panels to get rid of the rust speckles. While it may look nice it when you get the car it will start to eat away at your paint and wheel. Lacquer thinner is used to remove tar and sap from the body panels but we were instructed by Mr. Clark to use it along with Windex on seats to quickly get rid of the grime. Yes it does look good but it will wear out your seats really quick and damage the fibers or leather. When you drop your car off, you will be pressured for overpriced extras which is nothing more than an extra layer of wax or some item that you can buy for $10 at the local auto store. Because we were constantly pressured for time, the buffing pads were not properly cleaned and left swirl marks on the cars after buffing. Carpets would be soaked with a garden hose and then vacuumed out. We routinely had customers complain that their carpets were wet for several days but Mr. Clark insists this is how he wants it done. I have also witnessed other detailers abuse customers cars and drive them recklessly after cleaning. I would avoid taking your car at all costs. The only good part about working here is that Mr. Clark would let us clean our own cars for free.
SCAM ARTISTS - Warning!! Stay Away (1). Brought the vehicle home, and still full of sand in back. (2). Went to pick up as scheduled, and said it would take another 30-45 min, so he put two people on it. Said he couldn't deliver it because he had to go, so obviously, his time was more important the the customer's. Still took 30 minutes--has no respect for people's time. (3). Shady/annoying constant upsells: constantly tried to upsell on every turn including body repair, repeat services, rust removal, lots more, and 2 hours of extra cleaning? 2 hours? What is that about? I asked, and he couldn't explain it other than they spent more time on it. Is this why the back was full of sand cause I didnt upgrade? Talk about shady. Even tried to get me to put his paper floormat advertisements at the end. (4). Full of excuses and does not take responsibility for his actions, like saying it took extra time for this and that (which doesnt explain why they didnt call me). Why don't you offer a partial refund, or at least try to remedy things at your time/cost. The rest of the car seemed okay....so far, but too early to tell.
I got my small sedan detailed here and for the $340 price tag it was not worth it. I feel it was equivalent to a $100 detailing as my windows were still streaked, there were fingerprints inside my car, there were still two stains in the backseat, and my seats were soaking wet for 2 days after getting it detailed (even after sitting in the sun with the windows down). They told me to come back after a full day (I got there when they opened) and had to stay an extra 45 minutes to wait for my car to be ready. As they were finishing up my car, my boyfriend who was waiting for me showed me a video of them polishing my car where they were basically pretending to wipe down the mirrors. This was also very apparent when I drove off and I saw how streaky the windows were. The car itself looked better than when it started but I do not think it was worth $340. My car smelled really good after and it was cleaner so I do not feel justified giving this a 1 star review but for the price, I am not sure I will ever come back here.
We were ready to sell our 2004 Land Rover. It looked so bad and had been through 7 years of growing kids, carpools, and many adventures including trips to southern Utah (red sand), Alta (dirty, slushy parking lots), the Tetons and local reservoirs. It was a mess! Clark Executive Detail was very up front when I called that to get it clean to their standard would take extra hours and cost more than their standard pricing. I made an appointment and then accidentally showed up on the wrong day. Did they send me away? No, they were willing to accommodate my schedule and even offered to drive me home. This was going to be an all-day job for multiple people. A handful of employees (including the owner) stayed late (past closing) to bring my car up to their exacting standards. My car now looks and feels brand new (on the blonde interior and the black exterior) and no detail was overlooked. I am thrilled, and am ready to hold onto my car for a few more years! Worth every penny!
Feb. 2017 - My experience has been nothing but amazing! A co-worker just asked me where I would take a car to get detailed and it is here. I remember as I called Scott, since we just had a baby and unfortunately we were trying to get to the hospital. Scott took care of detailing our 2015 Subaru Crostrek. A couple days go by and I felt how understanding and the service he provided was beyond what anyone else would do. I work in Supply Chain and I do source daily and let me tell you by far, this is who I would certainly recommend hands down (I called 7 - 8 places). So even though this was 2.5 years ago, I still remember what great care you gave us! Thank you!
Wow, just wow. I brought in a large my large Toyota Tundra that turned out to be a lot of work (it hadn't had a good clean in a lonnngg time, is a my working truck, and was covered in sap). But they did not cut corners and made it look brand new. At first I thought the work may have been overpriced but after seeing their attention to detail and quality of work I think that it is worth every penny. From the person who gave me the quote to the people who did the work they where friendly and professional. If you want top tier and fair work this is place. Would recommend.
Scott Clark is a very down to earth and honest small business owner. I have had my boat and several cars detailed at Clarks and they do a very thorough good job. I am amazed that they can get every crumb in all of the hard to reach places cleaned. My sister recently had her car detailed at Clarks as well and she wont stop talking about how good of a job they did. She had driven her car with her kids and dog in the back for 7 years and now it looks brand new.
Mr. David is not very bright individual when it comes to Chemicals used to detail a car. I to work for clarks and a few other car washes gaining 13 years of experience. Do not listen to david as he does not know what he is talking about. Clark's is absolutely the best place to have your car detailed in salt lake county. It may be a little pricey but very well worth it. As Scott personally inspects all details. When he is there
11/10 customer service - between some concerns around cost as well as needing to reschedule our appointment and still being late, we must have been difficult customers. Yet we were treated with respect and understanding. Everyone we spoke to was incredibly accommodating and kind. I would happily recommend this business to anyone looking for a premium service from an excellent business.
This place felt like going to purchase a used car or talking to a telemarketer. You don’t just have a set price for a wash. They charge a ton and then upsell the hell out of you. They tack on extra time, then try and sell you all these aspects of a car wash that should already be included. By the time you’re done, a detail that would be $200 Any other place is a cool $1000 here.
My tacoma looked like it had been through hell, because it had. mud caked everywhere, scratches on the entire body, headlights to taillights from driving through over-grown trails, and the interior was caked with 3 years worth of dog hair and muck. it looks better than it did from the factory, and for less than $300. they even cleaned the inside of the bed.
This was well worth it. My 2008 4-Runner was looking pretty shabby, and decided to try a full-blown detailing. 6 months later, the car is still clean, the engine is nearly immaculate, and the service was professional, low-pressure, and they kept informed on progress. Will definitely use this business again.
Great place to take a very nice car for detail services when you have the ability to leave your car for the day with them. Although they do excellent work on your everyday cars they pay much more attention to a nicer vehicle and if you have a fair trade service they are very open to that idea!!
My car had some awful smells from working in a coal plant and food service for years. There were also various makeup and food stains that needed to be removed. They got both the smell and the stains out! Everything is perfect and for a great price. I couldn't recommend them more!!!
Scott and his crew do an amazing job. We recently brought our daughter’s car to him for a first time detail. The work done was super meticulous. I can’t believe they got it as clean as they did. Thanks Clark Executive Detail. We will be bringing all of our cars here in the future.
Wonderful and kind people! It took a few days due to their busy schedule, but it was totally worth it! The prices are not cheap, but the work is well worth the money. They polished some areas of my vehicle that were previously hazy, it looks brand new now!
They do a great job and the gentleman at the counter was pleasure to work with. It's not particularly cheap, but I got my money's worth. The car looked brand new after the detail + ceramic coating. I had hard time finding spots to nit pick
Stop putting cones and your trash can out to block public parking spaces! Absolute trash neighbor behavior. The street parking isn’t just for your business- other people have to access businesses and buildings on that street as well.
Really went above and beyond for me! My car was super dirty and covered in dog hair and it looks brand new! Plus it only took a day to get an appointment. Love supporting this long standing Salt Lake business. Thank you Clark!
I have been taking my car here for years and have always been extremely happy with the results. My car is always meticulously clean. The customer service is the best. If you want to make your car feel like new bring it here!
I worked here years ago, when I was 15. Reading the reviews I see nothing has changed. I won't hate on Mr. Clark or bash his business, but I will say he is not a stand up guy. Good luck to the future of this business.
BE WARNED. These people are liars. I was charged for the same thing more than once and treated like idiot for calling them out, even when I had receipts to prove it. Do not give these people your business.
I have had a couple of my cars detailed there and I have never seen a better job done before. The owner, Scott, is very friendly and very interested in making sure everything goes well.
Took both cars in for a inside and out detail today. I have to day that not only was the job done 110% right, but the staff here are amazing. Highly recommended!!! A+++++++
Absolutely spot on service. Couldn't have asked for better from beginning to end. They were very kind and helpful and WOW does my car look good!!!! Thank you guys so much!
They did an amazing job, far better than I expected. Our car literally feels like it’s brand new. (It’s 9 years old…) Friendly, great communication, and fantastic service.
Wow I’m genuinely impressed about how well the detail on my car turned out. I had over spray all over the hood and my baby looks brand new! Did such a good job, thank you
I think they could have taken more time and really waxed my brand new car since I had spots that were not waxed. Also the leather treatment was also the same. Spotty
Clark Executive Detailing is incredible! The work took 4-5 hours and my car looked brand new! They were very professional and easy to work with. Highly recommend!
I received great customer service after some confusion. I am looking forward to continuing to have my car detailed by them. Great detail at a great price!
Go see Scott Clark, he'll take excellent care of you and your car! We've been doing business here for years and love how our cars look after every visit.
Phenomenal service. Locally Family owned and Very friendly. However on the VERY expensive side and confusingly adding extra costs on their work sheet.
I recently had my Suburban detailed, after a family roadtrip to California and back, they made it look so great! The improvement was amazing! …
Best place in the SLC/Sugarhouse area to have your car detailed and having it coming out looking/smelling new. The owner Scott Clark is Awesome
Always keep both my cars looking good and free of dog hair. Have had my cars done here for years always happy with how they look.
Excellent car detailing! Professional and reasonably priced. Offer season passes and package deals. Also provide car storage.
Got me in on a last minute add to their schedule and did a fantastic job. I’d recommend this detailing shop 10/10! Thank you!
Excellent! The detailing on my jeep exceed my expectations! Very pleased. Outstanding service, I highly recommend.
These guys do an excellent job! I highly recommend you stop by if you want your car looking brand spanking new!
They did a great job and were very easy to work with. I will go back when I need to get my car detailed again.
They we're very nice and very professional I do very good work will take my vehicle back anytime …
Great clean. I bought a couple and of course they tried to get me to buy more. I'm not a fan of that.
My 8 year old Jeep JK paint hasn’t looked this good since I drove it off the lot. Thanks Scott.
My car always looks brand new after I pick it up. Always a treat to have them detail my cars.
Detail good, yes. Many cars, destined to go SLOOOOW, but few Virgil’s will be left standing.
My car feels like new and looks beautiful. The Owner is one of the nicest people I’ve met.
Very expensive I would only use it if you were selling a car and it was really dirty
Terrible customer service. Beware no refunds on unused gift certificates.
Great service at reasonable prices. Very friendly and helpful employees.
Awesome place to go, amazing detailing and great customer service
Nothing but great experiences, and superior customer service.
Best wash and detail around! Not cheap, but worth the money.
Best detail ever, I will continue to bring my car back.
