Experienced my first visit to the park on Tuesday the 11th of June. Went to see my cousin's oldest daughter play soccer. The park itself is very spacious, having a soccer pitch, a play area for children and plenty of green space to enjoy. It's also close to the BMX park where one can watch the incredible stunts these youths can perform. Overall a great park for young and old. Oh, and the best part of my first visit, my cousin's daughter scored a goal!

somewhat larger than the average park, it has a play structure and hills to play on. during the winter, i believe they take down the play structure and install a temporary ice rink for skating. near the start of canada day, they also take down the play structure and instead set up a full fairground (temporary). it has a ferris wheel, booth games and refreshments. it's a pretty decent park, but it can be more enjoyable with certain events and seasons

Special things are swings, a tire swing and a metal ride line. Play structures are alright. There are benches but not much shade. The surrounding park is well used by people walking their dogs: it's posted as on-leash but most people I saw had their dogs off-leash so it's a watch out of your child is afraid of dogs. It's adjacent to a baseball field, a soccer field and the BMX bike park. There is a port-a-potty at the park edge.

Barrhaven Canada Day 2017 completely demolished this once beautiful park. Over half of it is entirely unusable due to overgrowth of the uneven terrain. I have almost broke my ankle trying to walk through the field, and then falling into the pit made by tire tracks. Hopefully Barrhaven pulls together to fix this. Otherwise, the playground and other fielded area are intact and wonderful.

Can not believe the most direct route is not shown! There is no crossing at the Massena/Cornwall customs?! Then take Brookdale Ave to route 138 to the 417. This route should take a little over an hour!! Terrible it is not shown as an option! Should be ashamed of yourselves for making people who don’t know the area go so far out of the way.

More than just a field! There is a playground with a sand base for the little kids to play in and on. Competitive and recreational soccer matches can be watched from a lovely high perch that looks across the main soccer field. There was ample parking for both soccer teams and I would think a few more vehicles could have fit in the lot.

The bmx park is the best! Unsure why the municipality has lights over a vacant field for baseball that gets used for a few hours a week, but not over the bike park, there are always kids at the bike park, it's great that the community has this, thank you to all the volunteers doing free work to upkeep this great initiative.

I was there for the Canada Day Fireworks. Parking lot was congested. Didn't really have anyone looking after the parking lot. Great spot for the fireworks though as they were launched right infront of us. I am from the West End and downtown firework viewing gets way to crowded for my liking. This park is really close by :)

Great little place, has a park, soccer fields, softball diamond and even a BMX park near it. Some events are held here through the year, Canada Day Barrhaven and octoberfest in winter a small hill you can sled on as well. Everything is usually well maintained. There does seem to be wild parsnip now in some spots though

A really great place to spend the day with your friends and family, There is a big field and mets for soccer. There is a play structure and also some biking trails nearby that are fun to go on. I highly recommend going to this place during Canada day. Its really fun and there is food and drinks to purchase as well.

Surprisingly good time. Baseball can be like watching paint dry, but it's a good atmosphere, and their food/drinks aren't completely overpriced like some other sporting events. Good place to take the kids for an afternoon. Getting there early gets you the good seats, and there is more than enough parking.

  • Ken Hayward

Attended a rec. league soccer game. Well kept pitch, though unlighted. Close paved parking, with larger gravel parking further from field. As usual, no bathroom facilities and no accessible access. Grassy berms for better sight lines. Other facilities not visited include playground and baseball field.

  • Tim Luimes

Great park for year round activities. Sliding, skating, cross country skiing and snow shoeing in the winter. Soccer, kites, baseball, playground, rib fest, Oktober fest, carnival and fireworks in the summer. Great park to have in the community.

  • Neil Mann

I’m guessing this park has been here for awhile since the colour of the slide is pretty pretty pretty faded Plenty of green space is the key Grass growing in the sand is a turn off If the slide was metal than a 1 star is mandatory

Went to the capital bbq fair. And it was delicious. Only 2 bbq stands. Many competition grilles but wasnt allied to eat with them, because I wasnt a judge. Alot of vendors. Great hot sauce selections. And the corn bread was huge

  • Jay Wgm

Park is large, and soccer fields are always well maintained. The park is easily accessed by car as well as by public transit. Bicycle and walking paths also run directly beside the park as well.

  • FotisCanada

Great ball and soccer fields. Nice park for the kids

My kids loved this playground when they were little.
Picnic area
Plenty of space for picnics... no tables though.

Excellent BMX race track. We have been 2 years in a row now for the Provincial Qualifier rounds on Civic Holiday weekends in August. Well run event and one of our favorite tracks in Ontario.

Beautiful park. I went there for Canada day celebrations and it was fantastic. The organizers did an amazing job. Highly recommend Barrhaven folks to join this event every year.

  • Optimal Show Experience

Barrhaven Canada Day has always been and always will be a great spot to bring your family. Great entertainment on the stages, good food and a midway. Perfect summer night :)

  • Jason Sears

There's never enough monkey bars at these parks. It would be great to see the city invest more money into places for children to play that are adventurous and challenging

  • Adriana Cristescu

I haven't been here yet, but I pkan to go for breakfast on Canada's Day: July 1st. I know that many people are going and I myself love parks with perfect green grass cut.

  • Blankita Mrs

Mattamy Homes usually has a Pretty big Canada Day Celebration, with a huge stage, midway and lots of different grub to choose from. Usually a 4 Day event.

  • Sami AlSousi

The playground equipment is great for children of all ages, there is lots of open space for kids and animals to run and its well maintained.

  • Malcolm Stewart

Nice softball park in Barrhaven. Not too small that you are always looking for balls in the tall grass around it. Close to making roads.

  • Eric Dumouchel

Went here for rib and poutine fest. The park is really just a big open field with no permanent seating. Not much to speak of, really.

  • Lealem Abebe

Great park with accessible playgrounds, soccer field and family friendly programming during select holidays (eg. Canada Day)

  • Linda Dam

Came here for Oktoberfest Ottawa, wish they had shuttles coming from central Ottawa. Had a great time sampling craft beers!

  • Murray Amlin

Great park always in great condition! Bigger infield and large outfield 290ft home plate to center field fence

  • Philip Graham

Good play structure with tire swing. Lots of open space and soccer field. Small sledding hill for the winter.

  • Justin Hunt

It's good for kids. BMX park in the summer and soccer and baseball fields. Skating rink in the winter.
