I really like this bike shop. Everyone is very helpful but pretty laid back. I bought my bike here and I have my major service work done here. I just had them install a new upgraded cassette, large chainring and a new chain on my bike as well as give it a good tune up. Tommy did a very nice job. I would love to be able to buy the parts elsewhere and have them do the work. On those 3 parts alone, I could have gotten them somewhere else and saved $87. That's not chump change to me. I'd like to see them be a little more competitive on their parts prices but I guess that's part of dealing with a local LBS. I'm willing to pay the difference to have a relationship with a shop that does great work. As for the complaints about the time you have to wait for servicing, I can find you some other places where you won't have to wait. If you need anything other than a minor adjustment, you probably won't like the result. There's a reason why there's a wait. You ever had to wait for a table at a really nice restaurant? You don't have to wait at McDonald's. Just sayin". Glad you're there, Colonel's.

Went there to purchase my first bike. Tommy the sales guy recommend me a 29 inch bike after explicitly telling him that the last time I rode a bike was when I was in grade school. After three months of trying to ride the bike, I was consistently falling when stopping and taking off which caused me to use the bike only three times. After some professional help else where they recommended me to go back and get into a smaller bike. The staff at the store that day said they where helping me out by only giving me 275 dollars for the bike since I was going to be buying a new one from them. Especially after I spent over 700 dollars on the bike with add-ons when I initially purchased the bike. I've definitely learned my lesson, I will never set foot into their shop and I'll recommend everyone I know to avoid this place. Also they lost out on making an extra sale as I am getting my wife a bike so we could ride together.

First time in this shop and I was in the market for a new bike. I had a bad experience at a bike shop in Weatherford so I decided to give Colonel's a try. I was met by Doug, with professionalism, knowledge, and most importantly, friendliness and willingness to teach me about the bike. I told him what I was looking for and without hesitation, showed me to a few bikes he recommended for my desired use. He took the time to demonstrate the features of each bike I was considering as well as let me test ride it. No pressure sales and made me feel very welcome. Decided on the Giant Roam and can't wait to continue doing business with this place.

Bought a bike at the old location, several years ago, and the staff there were really immature and snotty. It really roiled me. And the guy who owns it is only nice on the pre-purchase side. Once he had my money, things changed, if you know what I mean. Glad they cleared-out of their old location, so I don't have to look at their storefront any more. Helps keep me in a good mood. I'm looking for a new bike now. Guess who won't get my money? And why is that? 'Cause the staff there love being snotty better than they love making money and creating life-long customers. Bottom line.

Just an awesome little spot in fort worth with great bikes. I had to ride an Uber for 45 minutes to get to the shop where I purchased a surly Steamroller townie single speed. The bike is awesome, the owner and people who work at the shop are all down to earth people and very knowledgeable about the bikes and culture. This shop makes their own lubricant and ships it worldwide apparently, it's called smooth operator, I purchased some and it seems to do the trick and it's always a neat thing to support the locals. Cool place.

This is the best shop in DFW. Location, location, location. Go down to Colonel's if you want great service backed up my guys who ride every single day. When you're done, go eat or shop around a bit more. Colonel's Bicycles is in a fabulous location and is surrounded by great food (Fred's Texas Cafe, for example) and shopping. If you are a multi-hobby guy like me, I can dang near make a day out of it.....go to the shop for great service, go by Fred's for lunch, stop by Backwoods for some fly-fishing stuff.

I bought some bikes on Facebook and didn't know what I was doing, so I took them to Colonel's and got them tuned up. Tommy took the time to explain what my bikes needed and how to maintain them, then he rolled the bikes to my car and helped me load them in. Then, best of all, after I couldn't figure out how to put the tires back on at home, Tommy helped me when I returned to the store and explained to me how to do it. Colonel's has world-class customer service and now a customer for life.

Been using this shop for a decade. Purchased multiple bikes for myself and my kiddos, had them build custom wheels, purchased parts, and had my rides in for service many times. They've always been helpful from the sales floor to the mechanics to the ownership. Sent many friends to Colonel's when the are looking for bikes as well and always get a good report back about the experience. If they don't have something, they can get it for you. Go see them, they will take good care of you.

I went in to browse around for a new light and socks and I was disappointed on how small their selection is. The staff greeted me like normal and to my surprise, he didn't know my bike was a Propel. I asked for their opinion on the Shimano D-Fly Data Management System and they had no clue what I was talking or anything to do with Di2. The sales guy quickly drop me as soon as he got the feeling that he wasn't going to make a sale. Limited Selections... Clueless sales Rep...

I bought a used bike at a garage sale. Although it was working, I took it in for a tune up here, to be on the safe side. Paid more than $100 (more than the cost of a brand new bicycle at Walmart), and the day after I picked it up I went to write it, and the gear assembly fell apart. While you will find cool hipsters at this place, it does not seem that they have any capable bike technicians. Lots of talk (and fancy mustaches), but no walk. What a waste of money.

I recently purchased a 24 speed bike from a friend and this was really my first bike in a long time. I had to get the tires and some tubing replaced at colonel’s and they were awesome. I had to go back again recently to get my rear derailleur adjusted as well and the employees there were so helpful again and even helped educate me on the issues the bike was having. I will definitely be returning to Colonel’s for anything I need with my bike.

  • Nick Bezdek

Love the different bikes and products sold at the company but bad staff. The other day i was asking just asking if they were hiring and they came back with a well it started out with a nice comment then this employee decided to add a No in it and i was like how can a new company if they are new not hire anyone like people would fight to have experienced people who have a lot of skills in this kind of field.

If you need your bike repaired, this is the establishment that will take care of you. I have just moved to the area, and had issues with my bike, and they helped me adjust my bike. If you need serious repair however, you have to schedule an appointment, and they had a lengthy process/waiting line when I inquired a month or so ago. However, that shows they are indemand and they are doing the right things.

  • Kenneth Utzinger

I bought my bike from a neighbor. Colonel's was happy to adjust it and sell me more tires and tubes it in the winter. The first time I rode the bike this spring the derailleurs did not work properly. When I called to ask them to fix it, they told me they do not service bikes they do not sell. They refused to look at their previous work and see what was wrong.

Great bike shop with knowledgable and non-pushy employees! They're always there to assist when we need it and when we cycle by the shop to eat or go to one of the other stores nearby, the employee we deal with the most always comes out of the store to say hi to us and see how our bikes are working out for us. This shop is amazing!

  • J D

Great service! Very knowledgeable. I needed a rim replaced on my bike. They gave me a good quote, ordered the part, and fixed it for me. They even tuned up my breaks and cleaned my chain for free during the visit. Very happy with my new rim and very happy with the service. I will definitely be a return customer!

  • Stry Ker

I came in looking for shoes and a comfy mtb seat. Rick took very good care of me and answered my newbie questions. I will be bringing my bike for service here as well as my business. These guys know their stuff and are very friendly. I highly reccomed this shop. Thanks again Colonel's Bicycles.

  • Kenneth Waters

I traded my newer Fuji for a cool old Bridgestone RB-1. I forget the name of the gentlemen who helped me but he was friendly and very knowledgeable. Most bike shops are like car dealerships, but this one seemed a lot more down to earth. I would definitely recommend paying them a visit.

  • Ben Rodriguez

At the time of my first and last visit, I was a new to bikes and the cyclist community. When talking with an employee and inquiring about simple bike repairs, I got the vibe that he didn't really care about helping me learn and just wanted my money. I found great service elsewhere.

  • Joe Loyd

Over and above!! I stopped by to have a tube replacd and thought I would need to leave it in the shop for a few days... The owner asked if I could wait 5 minuets while he inserted and inflated the tube. I was sincerely impressed! This is where I will ALWAYS go for my cycling needs!

  • James Hammer

These guys were awesome! Not to mention they had the exact bike I was looking for amidst the pandemic, (which is almost impossible to find bikes during). But, they were extremely helpful and got me in and out in less than 30 minutes. They've earned my business for sure!

  • Philip Seidenberg

I needed a Shimano Nexus Inter-3 SG-3R40 Push Rod on the fly so i spec into Colonel's...and how happened to have one in stock 90 minutes later... these guys! My beautiful 15 mile Trinity River bike ride would have gone a lot differently without this part. Thanks gents!

  • Kyle Ponder

I live in Arlington and drive over here to get anything done to my bike. They have great package deals if you need general work done and very knowledgeable staff if you need specific work done. The employees are never pushy and always stay "on the customer's level".

  • Cuco Sanchez

Rick was super knowledgeable and friendly and helped answer any questions I had regarding differences between brands, sizes, and prices. Ultimately, I chose the right bike for me and my budget, a Salsa Timberjack SLX. I couldn't recommend this shop enough.

Great bike shop. I normally hate visiting bike shops because most times the techs and salesman are jerks and snobby. Not this place. Everyone I spoke to was SUPER helpful. I highly recommend this place. Pricing is very reasonable too!

  • Michael Gomel

I bought a Moots Cr from Rick in 2009 when I lived in Texas. He built it up for me and after 4000 miles I have not even had to make a derailer adjustment on this bike. They sell a great product and are the best bike builders around.

  • Bryan Brothers
