When I was involved in a car accident that was not my fault, the repairers told me to get in contact with Compass as they give a hire car and charge the person at faults insurance. It took me longer than required to reach someone as for some reason they didn't answer their phone before 11am. After a week of using the car (which by the way came with a quarter tank of petrol and the previous driver who used the car was a smoker), I was rudely contacted to give the car back. The day before I had just had to put in $100 worth of petrol to keep it going. When I questioned this, they said that the person at fault did not have insurance. After 4 calls explaining to charge my insurance as per my policy which allows a daily rate, they ignored this and constantly contacted me regardless to return the car. I honestly have not had a worse experience with a hire car company in my life. They have made this incident an even worse experience for me and regardless didn't care and were happy to leave me vehicleless. I saw a previous complaint here that specified that they also were left with a quarter tank and never got a reimbursement. I am giving the car back with the same amount they left me with as a bare minimum of the experience I had to go through with them. Additional edit 31st August: On top of not responding to my review but every other individuals review, I was added to their marketing emails asking how their service was and the ability to work for them? Why would I want to work for them? Why is a rated service email including marketing for their hiring? Why was that even a logical decision that was made? I provided feedback on the 1st of August. The response was short and in the title of the email (yes that is right, it wasn't an email but a response as the title?) and when I asked them why my response was even in the title of the email, their excuse was that it was a 'bug'. No satisfactory response was even provided to me about my experience other than, in their exact words 'tried to get it extended for them but we can't' that was it.

Very bad in providing similar car. Initially the person from ? head office told me that they will provide similar car. My car was hit by a car which was insured. When I left my car for repair, they brought the car smaller than my car. My car is 7 seater outlander Mitsubishi. I need bigger size for family reason. Their car was MG SUV compact size only. We cannot go anywhere with whole family together. I initially thought it would be okay for 2-3 weeks. Now it is in week 4-5. The insurance company - Comminsure - who hit my car took a lot of time to approve the claim (still waiting for it) . I contacted Compasscorp to exchange the car. It has been more than one week and they still can’t provide me bigger car. I am really frustrated. Then I contacted different company and also my car insurance company. They can’t help me because I am in the process of it with them.

Very quick to organise a car, but then couldn't deliver as staff had finished up, so I had to go pick up. Car smelled like cigarettes, but I kept it hoping the smell would go, but finally realised that the smell wouldn't dissipate because there were cigarette butts inside the car. Mulgrave branch - no one picks up the call if Michelle (Branch Manager) isn't there. She was always helpful, cooperative and quick to respond. Complained about the car smell, they offered to replace it immediately. Took 7 days, even though it was escalated to David (VIC State Manager) and finally Michelle ended up organising it anyway.

By far the worst experience of my life. Talk about a horrible company to deal with. Harassed me non stop nearly every day for the 2 months I had the car, even sent someone with a tow truck to my dads house after hours with no contact. Then harassed me then for my legal help, threatening so I’d engage. Honestly save yourself the effort, go elsewhere.

At the time of drop off the sales person mislead you regarding their terms and conditions and after a week or two they charge you triple the amount of something. When you explain to them about the situation they say their sale person is very senior and must not have said that, which means WE (costumer) are lying.very negative experience so far

The entire process of obtaining a replacement car was seamless. The staff at the Mulgrave office were friendly and knowledgeable and had the car ready to go in under an hour from the time I arrived at the panel works company with my vehicle that required repairs. Highly recommended.
