Car Parking: I parked at Victoria Market for passport submission in case of needing extra time. Passport collection won't be any drama. I parked on Lonsdale St, across Combie lane and Gresham st, entered from the side building next to lifts. It was the perfect way✌️ CBD on Elizabeth st a lot of road closure on side so give plenty of time to look for the parking spot. For the score for the place, I would say hit and miss. Over the decades, Japanese customer service officers were super unkind & super mean back then, especially one mid aged lady up to around 2010nish. May be those mean staff were transferred for English spekers customer service now or could be retired However, this time, I got 1 male Japanese officer over the counter also another male Japanese officer over the phone were helping me through the document super polite and very kind Thank you SO much‍♀️ Today, I heard lady Japanese officer had happy voice looking after handsome Japanese man. Each counter has barrier so I couldn't see her but her voice was definitely young May be better present yourself in person whoever got bad customer service over the phone. I'm sure you are good looking

I highly recommend their visa services. Very clear guidance of what I need to prepare, & must submit in order per their checklist. You pay in cash exact $ amount as visa fee. Also they don't like you to use stapler on any paper work. Photo with glue only in the form. 'Cause if they need to separate or to scan it later, more job to do. It takes 5 working days normally to issue V- category tourist visa if they got all your sufficient docs. ( P/S: the same year I compared short term visitor visa fee, NZL collected $178, Japan charged $37. I'd to wait almost 3 weeks to get NZL visa approved...You can work out who is giving better service. Their fee is updated yearly)

Very rude attitude! when I called there for general inquiry questions purpose. She just was rude for no reason, and basically wasn't trying to hide her annoyance and unwillingness to talk with me, she pointed out "everything is on the website", so I in the end I just decided to finish this conversation and forgot what else I was up to confirm with her. As a foreigner in Melbourne I am very disappointed by this level of serving people.

Rang the consulate, staff was so rude and said not their responsibility as they have more than 100 applications per day, nor even try to gather the basic information, why answer the phone if you're too busy? Shame on you if this is how you represent your country...not looking forward to spending a cent of my hard earn money in your country.

Only Melbourne in Australia needs to go through a travel agency to apply for a Japanese visa. In the past, it only aud30 to submit the materials, but now you have to go through a travel agency to increase the price $150 Are you a poverty alleviation travel agency? Are only people in Victoria not worthy of going to Japan?

問い合わせしても親切に教えてくれます。 ただパスポートの扱いが非常に雑。 地方住みの外国人はビザ申請するのに怪しいインド系のVSFという代行会社を利用することを指示されました。直通電話もない会社で、代表番号に連絡しても英語も怪しく適格な回答がもらえず。 結局ビザ申請後パスポートはこのVSFという会社を通して郵送返却されましたが、受け取りの際本人確認すらされませんでした。 なぜ領事館から直接本人受け取り指示で郵送できないのか？ パスポート紛失していたら、責任とってくれるのでしょうかね？ ビザ処理で大変な時期だったのは承知ですけど、安全性も何も確認せずにこのような外部業者に委託する領事館の判断に疑問を感じます。

Best embassy in Melbourne. Japan people very welcoming I have travelled there 4 times this time they issue me multiple entry 3 year visa. I m Indian citizen . They are best in world I have travelled Uk, Italy., Korea Newzealand but I like Jopan most. Thanks visa officer to let me travellur country.

The female staff is VERY rude and VERY impolite. Seems like she didn’t understand what to do, when I had a question,she refused first then went the office to ask her supervisor. If I can rate 0, that will be suitable rating for this kind of service.

One star for the dismissive staff on general inquiries (telling me to read the website, interrupting me, rushing me through my questions), but the visa enquiries staff was very nice and reassured me about needed documents. Rounded up for him.

I’m amazed at how friendly and efficient they are. Took me less than half-hour to submit all of my documents. Shut out to the security guy and the guy with glasses. They are super patient and helpful with all my visa questions.

Unlike applying visa for Europe, you don't need to make an appointment. Simply rock up to their office, submit all required documents and pick up your passport and visa in a week time. Very friendly and polite service.
