This review is long over due! I just moved back to town after graduating from nursing school, and I'm back in my condo ready to rent it for the fall. When I thought about updating my locks to smartlocks, my first and ONLY thought was Curtis Key. They've installed building and gate locks for our building association, and my personal door locks for years, including 100-year-old skeleton key locks. I don't know what took me so long to write this review, but you won't be disappointed in the work, the product or the price. I have Airbnb and long term renters moving in and out year after year and these locks have seen a lot of traffic. They work as new as the day they were installed.

They are very professional my wife & I her family have been using them for years or decade we used them about a month ago to change or swap out a mortise lock I thought I could do it I was sadly mistaken the prices are reasonable and fair as a matter of fact I will be calling them today to discuss my door lock on my car as I said before I have called around THEIR are a lot of crook in the locksmith game they are legit I gave them 5 stars base on my interaction and it has been on many occasion I am not connected with them in any kind of way just stating facts of their work is tops

Want locks that don't latch? Need a surly tech who acts as if he is doing you a favor taking your money? Then this is the place for you!!! Our initial experience with Curtis Keys was solid; hence, when we needed another lock installed, we made an appointment. The tech they sent the second time was HORRENDOUS! When we contacted the store to indicate that door wasn't latching, HE became irate and combative. We had to contact another company to redo the work. Since their work is not consistently reliable, you may want to consider a different company.

Two security locks in the house. Frozen by decades of no use and no key. Prompt arrival and forty five minutes later Both locks were removed and replaced with solid security bolts and a pair of keys each. Not having solved this years ago put many in danger and was, otherwise, a waste. Their prices were unexpectedly low. Don’t bother yourself or waste time by looking further. These guys are excellent.

Called before I went in to get a quote for my 2005 Chevy Cobalt & there were no hidden fees added once I went into the store! Very great service, honesty and done in a timely manner ! Was in and out in about a hour , was helped by Dave he was very nice and professional. Would recommend and definitely go here again for any key issues that arrive in the future !

I have been using Curtis Key and Lock for my home and rentals for several years. They are consistently professional, always on time and courteous and provide excellent service. They answer my questions and help fix issues even with the doors. Never any complaints from tenants. What else can you ask for in a service provider?

Always precise.....I get my keys made here and only here. I've done Ace Hardware, Home Depot, etc....they made mistakes and my keys sometimes didn't work. The owner is clear, to the point and isn't crazy when it comes to prices. I was out of there in 5 min with a whole new set of keys and I even had a couple custom made. If you need a shop to get your keys done RIGHT and your in the area, I'd advise Curtis Key and Lock Smith as my first choice!

Highly recommended. Changed two dead bolts and two knobs in about an hour in Hyde Park. Professional, on time and very reasonably priced. When a challenging door set up popped up, the lock smith knew multiple ways of dealing with it and solved the issue with no major issues.

Andersen patio doors wanted $148 just to replace the key on my old patio doors because I didn't have a key. In fact, I never had a key to the lock. Therefore, I took the lock itself to Curtis key & Lock Service. 20 minutes later, I had two new Keys for $13. YES!!!

This place has been here a long time! Very helpful every time I have been there which is over 20 or 30 times! My compliments to the service I received from the staff! With no problem 3 keys was made for my 1960 Chevrolet Biscayne! At a very reasonable price!

I bought a 1987 Oldsmobile in Canada that was imported from Chicago in 1991. Have a spare set of keys that were cut by Curtis over 25 years ago. Exceptional quality keys and well worth the cost. Curtis does not cut corners when it comes to quality.

Kurt keys have been talked about for many years truly a business that's been in the neighborhood for ages a decade but they did take a little bit too much time or making a key for me step your game up fellas

Had an issue with my gate closing properly. Called Curtis key, they showed up same day and handled the issue quickly and professionally. Cost was reasonable and I would definitely use them in the future

Key cuts are great and dependable. The staff is very knowledgeable. Street parking usually available. The store closes at 5:30pm during weekdays. This store services residential and commercial clients.

Best place to go, if you have an Old School Lock, like the many that still exist in the Chicago area! They can repair or replace it. There are Too Many Issues in replacing it with a modern lock.
